I and my both sons love LA a lot, but LA hours are the worst! Please extend the Gym hours at least until 11:00 PM Mon-Fri and 10:00 PM on Saturdays! LA members need it! I know many people, who've got Planet's membership, because they're open 24/7.

This a review, with covid happening.
Locker rooms are very limited,so be there ready to goπ·, you can always carry your stuff...i believe showers are open, but not if the pool or sauna are.
Treadmill and other equipment in second floor are spaced out.
Ask for your sanitation spray bottle when you check in at front desk.
So yeah, honestly not the greatest. I think LA fitness should lower their member monthly payments...but thanks for trying your best to keep a safe work out space.

For a while I had to take a bus from school to Northtown, and nearly every time I walked by this stingy gym two of the staff (Grown men! I was a 16 year-old girl) would walk out and follow me all the way to Best Buy. Last time it was a short guy and a medium-build, taller man. They would shout at me and go in front of me to get me to stop walking, trying to get me to sign up. I would give a fake name and number every time just to get them to leave me alone. I hated this and eventually had to go out of my way to avoid being harassed. I've never been inside the gym, and I intend to keep it that way.

i paid a year upfront September 4. November 4 they say my monthly payment is late with card ending 9479. i thought it was a scam. i have no card with those numbers. i paid upfront. its been two weeks now. i cant use they gym cus im not active. they cant find my payment. my credit card company can. they can get the money back. Never have i been scared of a reputable company miss handling my financial information.
Follow up. After talking to a district manager in California, he gave me a refund on my year upfront. He let me stay at the gym til February. So that was more then enough. I love the gym and atmosphere. It was just the first company I donβt trust with my financial info. How does someone have a wrong credit card and no documents of me paying?

Disgusting equipment, horrible smelling lockers rooms and terrible customer service. Iβm so glad to be done with L.A Fitness after fighting to get out of my membership. Good riddance.

This gym is a standard LA fitness. Nothing spectacular, but it meets all my needs. Locker room and bathroom were clean. I come here once in a while for their Zumba classes. Iβve done classes here with Maria and Julie; theyβre both great. I enjoyed relaxing for a few minutes in the womenβs sauna before venturing back out into the April snowstorm.

First of all this gym doesn't have WiFi, which I think is ridiculous. What place of business doesn't have WiFi at this point? most everyone listens to music / video on their phones while working out. You'd think WiFi would be standard here, considering it's a gym.
On weekends especially, their cleaning personnel either aren't doing their job properly, or they have no cleaning staff on the weekend. Garbages throughout the gym are always overflowing, and the bathroom is not as clean as it should be. Paper towels and soap dispensers are low on occasion.
They also don't do a good job cleaning the machines. They are greasy, and the ellipticals are dirty from people's shoes.
One weekend I was there on a Friday night, one of the mats on the floor in the stretching / abs area had a dried sticky mess all over it from someone's drink. I came back on a Sunday and that mess was still there. Unacceptable!
Their equipment seems to be showing wear. It seems like there's at least one machine that's out of order every time I go there.
The only plus is the price compared to other gyms, but that's the only reason I'm still a member after 5 years. It's time to find a better, cleanlier gym that has WiFi.

Water Foutains have low water pressure so you have to put your mouth really close to the faucet which is unsanitary. There the gym has had a broken fountain for about a year now as well.

Ive been to all locations in MN and this location is not bad at all. restrooms are a little dirty but thats not LAs fault. Its the clients fault for making messes. I see the workers come in and out picking up after us all the time that goes for most of LAs. for rude employees it all depends on who is working. As long as I get a good workout in that's all that I really care about. I always get a great workout at any of the LA fitnesses. The sauna at this location gets extremely hot which I kind of like. I thought Maplewood and New Brighton saunas were hot they're nothing compared to this location if you step in Barefoot your feet are going to burn if you try to open the door with your bare hand your hand is going to burn.

I think every time Iβve walked into this gym the people working are always eating.. weather it be the front desk or the child care center.. do they not get breaks for that? Very rude and very unprofessional staff.. Iβve given up trying to start a conversation cause they donβt say anything back.. I put my account on freeze only to find out they still charge $10 a month.. and no WiFi.. who doesnβt have WiFi this day in age?

I have been to several LA Fitness clubs around the Twin Cities and the Blaine club is by far the worst. The customer service is TERRIBLE. The older man at the front desk is very rude and manager does not seem to care. In addition, this club is filthy. The locker rooms are always dirty and the whole club often reeks of old body odor. There is a reason that this particular club has so few members. I will start driving further to go to the Brooklyn Park club, as they keep the facilities clean and they are always polite at the front desk. It doesn't take much to keep members who want to work out happy, but the management at the Blaine club apparently has difficulty figuring that out. There is plenty of competition out there. As soon as my membership runs out I will happily go back to Lifetime. Don't waste your time or money on this club until they start valuing ALL members and they start making an effort to keep the facilities clean. The monthly savings are not at all worth it.

Although not perfect, this is a decent gym and the prices here are reasonable.
I like how they have a large selection of equipment that's spread out, and unlike most gyms, this place doesn't feel cramped.
However, the management is slow to fix stuff when they break, such as an urinal in the locker room was out of order for more than a month, and the prices for a personal trainer are high.
LA fitness is better than most gyms, including Planet Fitness and Anytime Fitness, but they aren't as good as Lifetime Fitness.

Least busy LA Fitness I've used. Never had to wait for a treadmill, elliptical, or stair machine. BB court is usually open. Equipment is older but well maintained. Never more than 1 or 2 machines out of service. Free weights are usually more busy, but pleasant interacting with those lifting. Parking is the best of any LA I've visited. Staff is always patient and helpful.

I go up to the front desk to ask a question and both the workers are on their phones.. as I am standing there they notice me and just ask βugh may I help youβ? Ugh yeah you can help me.. go pick up my daughter in the childcare center lady is on her phone.. I set up my personal training the guy had to reschedule twice because he was double booked both times.. no WiFi had a big chain gym!! What is my money going towards!?? The one stars are not true. But I rather not have this location be too crowded so you be the judge. This is one of the newest LA Fitness so all the equipment, furnishings and finishes are in great shape. The women's locker room is very nice, fresh and clean. The front desk is always friendly and they only announce closing time once compared to 3-4 times at other locations.

I've had nothing but problems with LA Fitness told one story by the personal training director when I signed up never received what was agreed upon. If I could give negative stars I would. This is the text I get from the personal training director when I tried to resolve the issue and I quote "Yeah I understand bro you're just taking up way too much of my time and it's not worth it anymore either you can stay with ΓΓΓΓΓΓΓ (I edited the name for privacy reasons) or move on" that's just one of a few text messages I received from the personal training director. I go to this gym because it is included in a network of gyms which is paid for and covered by my insurance. The minute they found out they would be making no money on me, they spent no time getting me in and out. I didn't get a tour, information about nutritionists, classes or any other amenities they offer. Not long after I signed up, I brought my sister in law in to take a class with me and they rolled out the red carpet for her because she would have been a paying member. They offered her things I didn't even know existed at the facility. Once they found out she would not be signing up, they rebuffed her as well. They even held her ID hostage until she flat out told them she wasn't signing up and needed it back.
Outside of the horrible customer service, the place is clean, but the locker rooms stink most of the time. If you want to work out and deal with the political BS that seems to be LA no matter where you go, then this is the place for you. I come here because it doesn't cost me anything and it's convenient. If I had to pay for it, you can bet your bottom dollar I'd go somewhere else.

SCAMMED RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING! I was not given Silver Sneakers that my insurance pays for but told I had to pay up front and get SOME money back from insurance. I should be paying nothing. I canceled in ONE HOUR and changed to the SS membership. He pretended to cancel the paying membership but really didn't. Why? He said because he wanted to get a commission. Jerk and a so uncaring and dishonest. Am having my credit card company help me and I sent a form and letter to corporate. It's been a month with no air conditioning in the studio. Miserable for my first week. Just want my money back that I was swindled out of. BEWARE!!! You will get the worst deal they can come up with....right John?

When I first got my membership at LA fitness in Blaine I thought everything was going to be OK I was just going to pay 22.50 a month with me and another person. I am a full-time medical student and I made sure that they knew that I had no leeway to play around with my budget but then My partner decided that she did not want to be a part of LA fitness but it was too late we had already signed an agreement and LA fitness took $224 out of my account for both first and last months gym membership payments for two people a week after they took that money out of my account I had asked them to cancel the other member Off my account and Casey said he would come to find out he never did I end up having 61.85 taken out of my account for the next month for both people. I talk to them I got so flustered to the point where I started tearing up and wanting to use words because they were pretty much telling me that they took $285 out of my account for one month. So do yourself a huge favor don't get a membership at this overrated expensive gym. It's a beautiful gym but the customer service is port. I would not recommend anyone going to this gym I'm sorry to say it but if I could give no stars I would have done so.

Pretty sad that almost all people rank this location one star because it's true. The front desk was going to charge me $10 because I lost my scanning card. I went to another location and I was helped freely to another scanning card. You can tell this location is bad because there is always new people working and for some reason it's always workers with bad customer service and bad attitudes. Upper management really needs to send a real supervisor to this location and run it correctly. Also a few months back I saw a guy employee smacking and grabbing a female employee's butt at this location. LA fitness, if you are reading this, fix this location ASAP.

This place need to have better responsible staffing. I have to things to rate them. 1. They got lazy staff working there, didn't chk women locker room and left me behind with all lights off, I had to ran after to find out what is problem, he basically locked me inside if I hadn't ran to the doors, knocking the doors that I was still inside. He basically said that he didn't check the women lockers room. I reported, asked for upper managements to call me and apologize and they did.
2. I refer members in, supposed to get their t shirt for incentive, they always done't my sizes and it has been a year not that I still didn't get their incentive. Called several times, they always have excuses!

Training facility manager is a bully! If you sign up for training make sure to get a copy of your contract. I was never sent one and tried to cancel and he would not let me. I called corporate customer service and they said I was emailed my contract which I wasnt and said my cancellation time expired. Which I was never told how much time I have to cancel and to buy out I have to pay half. Corporate customer service is just as rude and bullies as there employees at there facilities are. Worst experience I've ever had at a gym! Save your money and shop around there are way better gyms out there.

I have been a member of LA Fitness since 2011& have been working out at this location since. What makes me write this today is the lack of professionalism and respect from their assistant manager. I am not asking for any red carpet treatment, but showing your members a little respect and basic customer service will go a long way.
On April 10th 2015, my husband and I went to speak to a rep. to understand why we are being billed on my husband's account about $10 more (including tax) than what he originally signed up. The person helping us couldn't give us any answer other than repeatedly saying I don't know why and he's not sure. My husband said he will cancel, the rep tried selling him another plan but we wanted to find out the answer. When we didn't go with his sales pitch, the rep. literally said " I am not trying to FU***CK you over"-emphasizing the F word as well. Needless, to say we were shocked to hear it and I couldn't believe my own ears. The most ironic part of this whole experience was that he claimed that he was brought in by LA Fitness from California to drive their membership up. The only thing I see happening here is he will drive the members OUT b/c of his attitude.
It's time for US to take our money somewhere that will treat us the way EVERYONE should be treated.

Horribly unprofessional. Signed up basically so the sales rep would let me leave after 2 hours; and I went in just wanting to check the gym out! He told me I could go home check to see if my health insurance covered the monthly payment and if I changed my mind about joining I could cancel AND get my money back if I canceled within 3 days. Tried to call the next day to cancel and they gave me the run around for about a week!! βHes not in right now, oh he just stepped out to lunch, he is helping another costumer can I take a message?β left message after message to call me. FINALLY I get ahold of him. Tells me he canceled me and I will get my payment back after 10 days. NEVER got it annddd they kept trying to bill me, so technically I owe them like 360 some dollars. Call back and he doesnβt even work at that location anymore, and there is nothing they can do because there are no βnotesβ on my file .. so unless he remembers me and can issue my return there is nothing they can do. They are going to try to call him.. Iβm not going to hold my breath on receiving a call back. Considering this one a loss of 60 bucks to a SCAM. I officially HATE LA fitness. Go somewhere else!!!! Donβt even go to check it out because they will not let you leave without sitting down trying to convince you for 2 hours

I've been extremely disappointed in this LA Fitness; the lack of professionalism, the consistent issues with machines, the lack of morning classes, and the issues with hot water and the lack of apologies or understanding with this issue - has been extremely disappointing. September 2014 is when I made a real change, I signed up for a personal trainer thanks to Jathan F. Having a personal trainer is very challenging but well worth it, Iβve dropped a couple sizes lost many inches; Iβm healthier and happier and I canβt believe Iβm saying this but I look forward to my early morning training session with Kristi V SHE ROCKS!!!
My journey is not complete but Iβm off to a FANTASIC start.

The personal training manager, Jathan, is very unprofessional, unethical, and completely disrespectful. When my sister tried to cancel within the 3-day policy, he made it so hard and didn't follow the contract that was in place. He stated that he doesn't follow contracts and neither should the person signing them. He also stated that customers should trust the "verbal agreements" even though it contradicts with the contract. After hearing this, my sister said that was unacceptable and wanted the membership cancelled immediately. Jathan refused to do that, so we stated we weren't leaving until it was taken care of. He then proceeded to call mall security. We explained the situation to the security guard, and he asked Jathan if he could just do it and again he refused. We left with the understanding that he would cancel it before he left that evening. The security guard stated that this was not the first time they had been called because of the employees. I would recommend signing up at a different LA Fitness and not giving this location any money. Also don't be fooled into paying more money to go to any location when signing up here... It is completely false. All of the other locations have been great.

The staff here are only interested in your money anything else, like customer service, is non existant. The mens locker room smells horrible always. Some days it smells like someone puked, other times it smells like someone took a dump in the corner, sometimes it smells like popcorn puke and poop. When speaking with a recently departed janitorial person, I asked if they ever cleaned the floor/carpeting The janitor said it had not been done in the 5 months he had been there.
Dirty socks and underwear laying about in the locker room sometimes are there for days. The garbage cans are often filled to overflowing. When I mentioned this to staff they laughed it off but said they would send someone to empty the garbage. No-one ever came and months since then, it is still the same.
Obviously there is no reason to bring up any issues you have since you will be ignored. The staff personnel must be quite important, you can tell by the way they ignore you unless it's about money.
The equipment is resonably decent and the main workout areas are usually orderly. However as mentioned, the mens locker room is rank and poorly designed! It contains 3 u-shaped dressing areas. Each area contains approximately 100 stacked locker compartments . There is a bench central to each of the 3 areas which will fit only 3-4 persons at a time. Do the math, 100 lockers with a bench that fits 3-4. You can find yourself waiting for the area to clear to dress on undress so don't be on any schedule. Then figure on bumping body parts with others trying to do the same. Poor design from a users/customers viewpoint.
If you don't mind the unsanitary conditions and doubtless nasty smell of the locker room, being bounced around while dressing like bulls in a rodeo corral and enjoy inexperienced, semi conscious, lazy management, you may delight in your La Fitness Northtown experience.

Stupid POS sell rep keep calling me after I already said NO! Multiple TIMES and have the audacity to insults me bragging about your gym. I am sorry why the hell would anyone come to your POS GYM when your reps insult them and harass potential customers. I will tell everyone NEVER join this POS GYM so STOP CALLING ME! JOSHUA!

I was a member of experience and this gym makes experience fitness look like garbage. There was no broken down equipment the gym was extremely clean and the front desk greeted me with a smile when I came in very happy I made the switch.

Avoid this gym! If I could rate very poor I would! Yes the gym is clean, but the staff is useless. I went to this gym in hopes to get a free 3 day pass like they advertised and walked out with nothing. The receptionist was useless, didn't even greet us. The male (Omar H.) we talked to was absolutely and utterly disrespectful and rude. He wouldn't even give me a pass! (Beside the fact that they'd charge me $15 for one) He refused to because I apparently "lied" to him when I said maybe I'll sign up today and he thought I said I will sign up today. He made fun of me and couldn't understand the very simple fact that I did not want to sign up right then and just wanted to "test drive" the gym first. Hell, I should've gotten it for free with the way I was treated there! Never again!

This is a great place to workout. Even at the busiest times you can still use the majority of the equipment without having to wait. All of the equipment is well maintained and fixed within days if it breaks down. The gym is kept very clean.
I have been a member here for 2 years and have never had a complaint.
The negative reviews on here from a year ago are from when there was a different management staff. The staff was changed around 6 months or so ago and the gym is 10x more enjoyable! The staff here is great! Alex and Chris are always looking to help out whenever the need arises! Front desk and cleaning staff are very polite!
I would recommend this gym to anyone!
