I joined the Farrell's North Loop a couple of weeks ago and I am loving it! Everything is always super clean and organized, the instructors are awesome and they make the classes very fun and highly energized. Sarah is an awesome manager/owner and is always ready to give you some advice, related to workout or nutrition.

The Farrell’s program works!! The instructors, live in person, are always fantastic, but especially their virtual presence and guidance is great too. It’s so wonderful that I can still get my Farrell’s workout in while I’m occasionally traveling for work! Huge gratitude!

I have changed. Farrell's has been at the center of that change. I have learned to accept and take care of myself in new ways. I am in awe of how strong I can be, just by trying. I want to try so hard I fail. I have learned to accept failure as success - this has changed more than just my workouts, I approach my work and life differently.

At Farrell's I was welcomed. Not just by the instructors, but by the other members. Everyone helps everyone. Everyone supports everyone. Everyone learns from everyone. No cliques, no one is above or below helping or asking for help.

I work out almost everyday. Because I have changed and because I want to. Even when I'm less motivated, I'm still driven. (what the heck happened to me, right?!) I take on new challenges because I've learned that I can.

Try it. You're worth it!

I just started here after my other gym unexpectedly closed and I am absolutely loving it! The instructors are so helpful and so energetic, even though you are getting a tough ass workout, they make it so fun and it goes by pretty fast!

Sydney is an amazing instructor. She is a force to be reckoned with! I love how she gives us a heads up to get our minds right for the next round, meaning it's going to be a kickass round, and get ready! The reminder is that this is a mind game, and we push ourselves to our limits. Kickboxing, don't stop, and strength training, form, and failure are goals. Last but not least, a person you can trust. Keep being amazing!

Very welcoming space! I can only go to the gym twice a week, so I use class pass. This space has never been a problem for me as someone who isn’t a consistent regular. It may feel overwhelming to follow the moves at the beginning, but you’ll catch on quick and the instructors are quite approachable to explain.

If you want to get in great shape, and have fun while doing it… this is your gym. I have been coming here for 5 years and this is the kind of environment that every gym strives for. The kickboxing is legit, it’s a great workout and over time you turn into a machine. The weight lifting is really well thought out and the plans that they create give you a complete body workout rather than the same 6 muscle groups that you do on your own at other gyms. I have never been a class person and hate the cultish atmospheres that a lot of gyms have, but as a man in my 40s, this place is a really great environment where everyone feels included and supported no matter who you are. And the results… in my 40s I am in as good as shape as I was in the military in my 20s. It’s a great gym with a great staff and a place you can go and work out and be your best self. This is how I found the consistency and the results I have always wanted.

Where to start! I love this place. I have been an athlete and worked out my entire life, (I'm in my 40's). I started working out at North Loop FXB about 2.5 years ago and haven't stopped. I was never a group workout person or a morning workout person. I have learned to love both, because of FXB, their team and the individuals I have met on the mats. They bring an energy and motivation to working out, that I haven't needed in the past, but is refreshing and I have seen so many positive results. Their rates are reasonable and worth every penny. You get to come as you are, they meet your where you are at and push you to become the best version of yourself. They also stress that fitness and body image isn't about a number on a scale. There is so much more to it and it is throughly embraced at FXB North Loop. I could drive a lot shorter distance to attend a gym, there are 3 locations within a 10 minute drive of my house. However, I choose to drive to North Loop and stay because of the experience that I have had.

Kickboxing has made a huge impact on my life—not just physically but mentally, too. The techniques, especially kickboxing have boosted my confidence, strength, and overall resilience.

The trainers are absolutely amazing—supportive, knowledgeable, and always pushing me to be my best. Their energy and dedication make every session both challenging and enjoyable.

I’m so grateful for this experience and highly recommend it to anyone looking to level up their fitness and skills!

I was a bit nervous to go here but with Alchemy closing in MN, I needed to find a new workout place where I felt challenged and fun. I went here sorta on a whim, thinking “oh it’s a chain isn’t it?” (—we’ll get to that) and not really sure whether I would like it or not. I wasn’t per se looking for “extreme bodyshaping” either, but I needed to do something and I needed to do it with other people otherwise I wouldn’t do it.

Well, no surprise based on the stars, but I absolutely love it. It doesn’t feel like a chain and it’s really just a franchised brand in the name and methods. But the actual owner of this North Loop location is local, heavily personally hands-on involved, and often onsite. You’ll likely meet them at some point if you attend a class. They happened to be there on my first day of class and they may or may not teach a few classes here and there from time to time. I was also lucky to experience this as well and they’re a great instructor too. They mentioned their background is in Tae Kwan Do and the Farrell’s method has a similar basis from my understanding.

Overwhelmingly, I can tell the team at this location and the owner are passionate about welcoming people into the space from all different backgrounds, experiences, and ability levels. The overall community atmosphere is noticeable and for this area specifically the classes have some of the most diverse participants/attendees in terms of representation as well (age, gender, race, ethnic background, etc). I tried a lot of different gyms in the area. This was noticeable and makes for a good representative cross-section of the neighborhood. That’s not common at other gyms nearby.

So if you’re looking for a gym that’s locally owned and smaller business, it really is both at this location, and bonus that it’s super welcoming to everyone. Those were my main points and it checks them.

The classes have also been a great value for me, and I continue to be impressed by the desk support staff and instructors. I think they do a great job of providing friendly support, a clean space, and a workout that’s hard but accessible. That’s tough to do with varying ability levels for kickboxing.

And it is definitely kickboxing…lot of kicking. Lot of boxing. Expect to hit and kick the bag and follow combos at a moderately fast pace. My first few classes i struggled a bit with recall and using my short term working memory (ADHD) so be aware that can be a frustration. But over time I got better at this and it has become much easier to remember combinations.

That being said if you can keep up and even if you’re not doing it 100% correct 100% of the time, you’re still getting a killer workout, a good stress relief, and maybe having some fun too.

Joining a gym is scary. You never know what you're going to walk into; whether you'll have guidance and support or if you'll be on your own.

That's not how things are here. At Farrell's, when you walk through the door, you enter a community committed to help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

The instructors each provide their own spin on the workouts while focusing on form and technique. Do you like to understand the "how" and "why" for what we're doing? We have instructors for that. How about someone to pull you out of your comfort zone? We definitely have a few of those. Looking for more of a "don't think; just punch" vibe or dance breaks between rounds and/or sets? We can do that too.

But it's more than just the instructors and management that are there to see you meet your goals. Other members will cheer you on, challenge you, and help push you in the direction you want to go.

So, pop on in and give it a try. We'd be happy to welcome you into the #FitFam.

I’ve been a member here for 5.5 years. Prior to FXB, the longest I’d ever been a member anywhere was maybe a year (and I hardly ever went to the gym). Life-changing spot, and I’ll break down why.

Workouts: I hated cardio. I hated lifting. Kickboxing days are so fun and you’re so focused on the combinations that you forget you’re doing cardio. Strength days are full of people around you cheering you on and pushing you to go heavier, while also understanding not to push so far you feel uncomfortable or get injured. There is a team of knowledgeable instructors if you do have an injuries and need modifications to exercises. This ensures you can still participate—and the best part is NO ONE judges.

Community: On a smaller scale, this is the most welcoming gym of all time. The staff and instructors take time and effort to learn everyone’s names and any preexisting injuries. Everyone feels like they belong!
On a larger scale, I have found some of my best friends there. I wasn’t looking for friends in my late 20s/early 30s, but it sure happened anyway. We even get together outside the gym!

It’s a scary thing to be thrown into a 10 week program to work on yourself, but I promise you it’s worth it. I can honestly say FXB has changed my life in so many ways, physical and otherwise.

Outstanding workout gym.
It’s so much fun to learn something different. It’s a great workout- I usually end up breathless and/or nauseated at the end of every workout!
All body types are welcome. And people are pushed to compete with themselves, not the person next to them.
Instructors are great and super encouraging. You can start with zero martial arts experience and do fine.
It’s a bit pricy, but totally worth it!

I'm a HUGE critic of gyms because I've always been someone to keep my head down, workout, and be on my way. I don't go to make friends. But, despite all the reviews about Farrell's being a great, welcoming, friendly community, I was drawn to the idea of kickboxing and decided to join. Best decision I've made.

The workouts are challenging and extremely fun, and they are really for everyone. I was a two-sport collegiate athlete looking to stay in shape and be pushed, and I have been to classes with members who've mentioned they've never had a workout routine before FXB.

The instructors are COOL (and great at what they do), and the owner, Sarah, is the most involved person in the place. Despite my best intentions, I've made friends that make going to the gym even easier than it already was.

I'm stronger, quicker, and smarter (long boxing combos make the brain work, too...) because of this gym. Farrell's NOLO is the place to be!

Farrell's is a unique and wonderful gym, home to some of the kindest, most passionate, and all-around most supportive people I have had the pleasure of meeting, both in instructors and fellow members.

The mix of cardio via kickboxing and alternate strength training is a perfect balance, proving days for active rest and recovery with a unique experience.

The 10 week challenge really seems to motivate many people, and I have seen it transform them, in spirit and body, empowering a healthier lifestyle and improved self-image.

I am usually a regular at the Saint Paul studio, but I recently had a chance to make it out to North Loop and loved the facility.

Very disappointed with their cancellation policy - the staff doesn't give you all the details when you sign up for classes and it consists on 60 days from your *NEXT BILLING CYCLE*- which means that you can end up being obligated to pay for almost 3 months of classes. There is also no way to freeze your account for a short period of time - say 1-2 weeks for trips, getting COVID, etc. (both happened to me). This policy is something that I haven't seen in any other gyms around the area. I explained my situation to the managers and asked to get a prorated amount to get charged for 60 days and not almost 3 months but I guess they weren't open to that.

In terms of pricing, the memberships range from $140 for 12 classes a month to $190 for unlimited. Per the manager, these rates are going up next month (August 2022). There's also a mandatory $50 registration fee for the gloves.

Kickboxing classes are fun (45 mins on Monday, Wednesday & Friday), Strength classes are okay (45 mins on Tuesday & Thursday). There's a mixture of both on Saturdays and there are no classes offered on Sundays.

At any good gym, you should never feel ashamed or discouraged about yourself or your struggles with the staff. A great gym, though, will have you feeling the support through the other attendees as well. That's what I found at Farrell's. I joined back in 2019 for the 10 week challenge and stayed on afterwards because of the community, instructors, and overall amazingly fun workouts. They have done so much to keep everyone safe during COVID by pivoting and offering online and on-demand classes. And now that we are back in person, you realize that this place, and the people who go here and work here, are awesome because of how much we missed each other. It truly feels like a family of supportive people who all push each other to be our best (or at least to try our best😉).

I'm on week 9 of my 10 week challenge. I knew that the workouts were going to be good. I knew that my body would change. But I didn't know that I would find a community of people that make my whole day better. I'm a mom of 4 (with a baby!) and I work full time. Yes, you can find time in your day to prioritize yourself. The instructors are caring, helpful, fun and encouraging. It's a workout that's challenging and accessible for anyone -- one of my favorite things about Farrell's is the huge range of ages and fitness levels. If you are looking for a welcoming place to challenge you and to have a ton of fun while you do it, this is the place! (PS I can't wait to see what my results are from the 10 week challenge!)

The environment is welcoming snd uplifting and the workouts are always a blast. I know I can go into the gym on a bad day leaving with a smile on my face. Staff and instructors are amazing!!

I have been a member at FXB North Loop for 2 1/2 years with some time off due to COVID. "Going to gym class" has become a fixed item on my daily agenda 6 days a week. There are 3 days/week of cardio (kick boxing) and 3 days of strength training with weights, stretch bands and floor exercise. Over the course of a week the whole body participates.

Perhaps the best thing about the FXB Method s that it is adaptable to all ages -- I am in my mid-70's and the routine works for me as well as the 20-somethings that make up most of the participants.

This was the first time I actually felt productive in a gym - not awkward; instructors that actually help you out. The overall atmosphere and other members are fantastic as well!
They offer a variety of times and class options that really make you feel good. As one member told me, "it is transformative" - he was right.

I haven't worked out or had any real physical exercise in 25 years. I turned 51 halfway through the 10 week bodyshaping class. I had no idea what to expect from the class or if I could even make it through the entire session. I'm happy to say that I have 4 weeks left of this session and truly believe that I would not have made it this far if I had taken this course anywhere else. Farrells is more than just a place to work out. Its a community of like minded individuals that feel like an extension of your family. The instructors are amazing. They are always available, friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, compassionate and full of energy. They make you want to be a better version of yourself. You leave class feeling the workout and you find yourself wanting to come back for more. The instructors motivate you but don't intimidate you. I honestly can say I don't think I would have made it through another class if I were to do it anywhere else. Casey has found a way to make getting back into shape easy. No matter what you look like on the outside Casey along with the instructors make you feel good on the inside.. Not once did I ever feel out of place or feel like I didn't fit in. I look forward to continuing my journey at Farrell's, even if i have to continue it online... This has been a great experience .. Thank you

Farrell’s has changed my life and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to be a better, healthier, stronger version of themselves. I’m 31 years old and never thought that I’d ever look like I did in my early 20s; however, thanks to their 10-week challenge and continuous challenges post, I’m in the best shape of my life. Their continuous support and ability to quickly adapt during gym closures due to COVID allowed me to keep my workouts going via zoom classes with very little change to their excellent service offerings. Don’t even question it, start today.

The gym is spotlessly clean and the members safety and comfort level are always top priority

The workouts are varied and continually challenging and results driven

AMAZING is the best way to describe this gym! Between the supportive and energetic instructors, and the BOMB and challenging classes, you will never be bored! So much caution is being put into place due to COVID and I feel incredibly safe working out there. Plus they have the option for Zoom (live and pre-recorded!) classes for anyone not comfortable going to the gym yet. 11/10!

I love this place! Excellent and professional instructors and great programs. I’ve been here for four weeks by now and joined the 10 weeks challenge. I’m seeing progress by taking classes everyday Monday through Saturday, and following the nutrition guide.
I love kickboxing as it is a super fun workout and helps with de-stressing! And the strength training could take some time to build up but the results would be amazing! If you want some good sweats and have fun, come to the gym and join the programs!!

Here's the thing. It takes a special personality to cultivate an environment of torture that makes people come back wanting more. That's what Casey, Sarah, and the team of awesome instructors at FXB NoLo have done. Screaming muscles? Check. Pounding heart? Check. Silent swearing? Oh yes. If left to my own devices, I'll call it good at whatever rep my brain decides was probably definitely more than enough. At FXB? Not so much. They push us to push ourselves, and make you WANT to get that last couple of kicks in. I've never walked into or out of that gym feeling anything but supported and encouraged. After an injury had me out of commission for a couple of months, Casey went out of his way to make me feel welcome, and to make sure that I had the necessary modifications to avoid re-injury. His positivity and humor make it impossible to be mad while he's trying to kill me with fitness. 5/5 versions of me (fit, out of shape, tired, happy, etc.) would recommend choosing torture at Farrell's North Loop.

I joined Farrell’s this past December and did the 10 week challenge with my fiancé. I had started just hoping to lose some weight but this gym offers so much more. I have learned how to make a lifestyle change including nutrition, exercise, and to celebrate non-scale victories. The community is great as well. Everyone is welcoming and willing to help. It can be intimidating to go to a new gym but they make you feel at home right away. Plus, they really know their stuff. They are always willing to help you modify moves or correct improper form in a kind way. I never feel called out or embarrassed like I have at other gyms. They just truly want to see you succeed in your fitness goals.

If you’re looking for a place to start your wellness journey right - consider joining FXB. The 10 week program is intended to help you build a foundation for success in wellness. The program workouts which combine strength training with weights and bands, cardio kickboxing with nutrition, and coaching along with a program that’s helps you develop strength and endurance while gaining muscle and losing fat. Beyond the gym, Farrell’s creates a community of support and connection. If you’re ready to challenge yourself to make great change - come join trust me the investment is well worth it.

Honestly, there are still days that I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and don't recognize myself. I can assure you, wholeheartedly, that this is the program that changed my life. For that, I will be forever grateful.

I was someone who always exercised at a gym. I was a nameless member who went through the motions of completing a haphazard, aimless workout; never seeing the results that I wanted. I didn't understand my body, and I definitely didn't know how to create meaningful change. Nutrition coaching was never an offering unless I wanted to pay ungodly amounts of money over and above my membership fee. For years, my weight and self esteem were unstable. Then I found Farrell's.

So what's different about Farrell's Extreme Body Shaping - North Loop? It's an unbelievably supportive environment. It is a community and we are all in it together. Your success, is our success. When we succeed, we celebrate those milestones together. Casey, the owner, and Sarah, the manager, will know you by name and are invested in your victories. Nutritional coaching is a crucial part of the program and will be thoughtfully taught. There are always challenges to keep us engaged, accountable, and motivated. The focus is not on the scale but changing body composition and feeling strong and healthy.

To date, I have lost 70 lbs. My body composition has completely shifted. My body fat percentage has dropped from 34 to 17%. I have gained many pounds of muscle. My body is now capable of things that I once only imagined - I now consider myself an athlete. I don't think I would have found this person I have become without Farrell's.

If you want to transform your life. This is the program for you.

Nothing short of 5 stars. I was desperately looking for a convenient gym in the North Loop that would engage me and gave me the opportunity to get back in shape. Little i knew I was about to find so much mores

After seeing one of the multiple signs around the neighborhood advertising a free class I gave it a shot. It is now well over 100 days of working out 6 days a week but more importantly I found an unbelievable support system, or Fit fam as we call it, that helps pushing my limit and keeps me accountable.

Since joining I learned so much, well beyond how to throw a round kick or uppercut, from nutrition and healthy recipes (the members only Facebook Group is great) to body composition (forget about the scale - Build muscles, loose fat!

Farrell’s North Loop is the BEST! I visited them for two classes when they did a fundraiser for our local charity, and every single person taking a class was super-nice (not intimidating...really cool people) and they all looked like they were really into it (but having fun!). Kickboxing with instructor Sarah Hanks has got to be the best way to lose weight (and get strong and learn skills)...fun music, clean and beautiful setting, and great people to work out with. I say A+++!
