I do not recommend the adult opem gym if you are a former gymnast just trying to have fun. The coaches have a 90s gymnastics toxic ego trip going on and they try to treat you like you are a team gymnast training for the next big USAG comp. Gross 🤢 just know what you are getting into....esp if you have former technique...they will hone in on you and ride you.

Awful.
High turnover of teachers, facility smells terrible and zero progression for my daughter who did level 1 beginner recreational gymnastics. How on earth is it possible she did lessons for 10 whole months, trained 1.5 hours a week (per lesson), only missed 2 classes ALL YEAR LONG and never ever went up a level. What a scam.
The owner/ manager told me this is quite common and it takes some children this duration or longer to progress. Pardon me???? Ma’am…if that’s the case, make it known at enrollment! Then people, myself included, can choose to go somewhere else! There are many other gymnastics facilities that offer a much better curriculum with proper skill tracking .. and regular communication with parents on development. This place has NONE of those qualities. To say my daughter can’t do a “proper” cartwheel is inexcusable. Especially after I paid $175 for ten months. TEACH her, correct her mistakes. Educate her. Work with her. What a joke.
This is inexcusable and families are clearly being taken advantage of! Many reviews similar to mine and many parents asking the same questions in person during the last class of the season.

Went to open gym on Friday February 28th ended up falling and tearing some skin off my leg and a few coaches saw me fall no coach asked if I was okay. One coach just said OUCH! … left in tears

Not a huge fan. I enrolled my daughter (3) and it seemed every week they did the same stuff and most of the kids would get bored and run off and do their own thing. Trampolines. Which never enough so most kids would be waiting a turn for 10 minutes or so. Then they would do an obstacle course for the remainder of class and have them keep repeating it till class was over. Never new skills or kept class exciting. For the cost ($110) a month I was expecting more.

No consistencies or clear goals for students. ZERO communication. Coaches change every few months and do not return emails The gym itself is dirty and all the mats are peeling. The foam pit is a Petri dish of who-knows-what and one jump in and my daughter was covered in filth. My daughters last coach there wreaked of tobacco that even my daughter complained. There are many other gyms that are professional and clean. I would not recommend.

i was disappointed with my experience at Gleason's open gym. the name “open gym” suggests it’s a space available for individual practice, but there were other teams occupying the gym, which made it difficult to use the space as expected. i paid the $20 fee hoping to practice my floor routine, but i wasn’t expecting that other groups would be using the gym at the same time. additionally, the floor was much harder than anticipated, and the placement of equipment didn’t seem very safe. overall, i didn’t feel the experience was worth the cost, and I wouldn’t recommend this open gym to others."

We love Gleason’s! My 7 year old started trampoline/tumbling classes there a month ago and is thrilled to go every time. Then today we had his birthday party there and it was beyond all expectations. Sasha and Carter were amazing, taking all the kids through so many different courses/fun things. No gymnastics experience required for the parties and, in the words of my son, it was “perfect.” Every single kid had a blast.

Sasha was a great teacher. My grandson loved the class and became much stronger. Sasha taught each skill with precision, safety, and tailored to the class. He is fun, patient, and kind. The equipment is challenging and keeps the attention of the kids. This is the best physically active class that I have seen!

Coach Cameron D. is a fantastic teacher. I don't think I've ever learned as many things in a day. If you're looking to get into parkour I couldn't recommend him more.

My granddaughter was injured at a birthday party this morning - large bump on her forehead. Was seen by a doctor and has a mild concussion. The 2 instructors in charge at Gleason’s, who were running the activities had no idea how she was injured. That is negligence- no excuses!

I went to Gleason's in my youth and continued on their Trampoline and Tumbling team. Now my daughter is 8 and joined Gleason's this past season. We tried a few other gymnastics classes in the cities but nothing compares to Gleason's. The OG gymnastics school in MN.

All the trainers are great here. My daughter and son both take classes here and both have a great time! One person though that deserves a shout out is Sasha. He is amazing with the bitty mites class every Saturday. My son loves seeing him because he makes it entertaining and keeps his focus.

I was a big fan of Gleason’ but after COVID its not the same. Instructors constantly change and there is no consistency in their program. My daughter does not want to go there anymore.

Weirdest experience. Went for open gym as a beginner and felt judged and stared at. Ended up leaving early because any thing we did we were yelled at by a coach. One in particular had us learn a toddlers routine on the trampoline for 15 minutes despite us just wanting to jump on a trampoline.

This place is great. Good amenities, and staying safe during COVID. But let me tell you, the free running coach, Cameron I think, that man deserves a raise.

The admin staff and coaches are friendly and great with the children. Children are regularly assessed and moved up levels to keep them challenged but not aggressively pressured to perform. Our 3 kids really enjoy their classes.

I had bad experiences at Gleasons Gymnastics. Or should I call it Gymnasty. I was just doing a backflip. It was flipping fun. Then this crazy Russian dude came up and said, “No flips!” But it sounds like he said no fleeps. I thought that was like something from his culture but then he came back after I did another flip. He escorted me out and said no fleeps again. Wouldn’t recommend

Gleason's in Brooklyn Park is closing due to Bankruptcy. they did not tell anyone until after people paid for the first month. Now I may or may not get a refund due to their money being tied up with the bankruptcy. so I get to pay again at a different place so my daughter can go. I would NOT recommend until they figure out if they can stay open or not.

The adult classes are so much fun! The coaches make you feel totally comfortable with your skill level and with trying new things. I have never experienced that with another facility. Highlight of my week.

My daughter has been at this gym for two years now, on the tramp and tumbling team, and she absolutely loves it! Nikki and the other coaches are all fantastic, they work the kids hard but use positive reinforcement, so it's a fun environment to train in.

A particular instructor was extremely mean to my child. He called my son a name that was hurtful and humiliating. We are disappointed in our experience. Another staff member did try to make the situation right, although the damage was already done.
