About the Club

We offer both recreational and competitive gymnastics at our BRAND NEW gym (completed in November 2023) in St. Joseph, MN! Our gym has a mezzanine so you can watch your gymnast from a birds eye view. Our preschool gyms are colorful and offer different themes throughout each 10-week session. Safety is our #1 priority at GCG. We have 2 in ground foam pits so gymnasts can learn new skills into a soft landing. Our coaches are well trained, enthusiastic, and keep their gymnasts busy with stations while they rotate through vault, bars, beam, floor, and trampoline events. GCG also offers birthday parties, tumbling classes, and private lessons.

Great brand new building and equipment. It's a beautiful space. We attended a birthday party, everything was very nice, except for the party room is tiny.

They want you to do the backhand spring to move to level 4, but they don't teach it or only spend 5 minutes doing it. We might be switching soon!

What a terrible conclusion to our experience. We joined based on a positive recommendation from a friend, but it ended up being a mistake. Our daughter was excited to start, and it was fun for her. But she grew into being a tall girl. No one could help her complete some of the moves required to move on to the next level. There were other negative experiences along the way. But one of the top employees promised her free private classes during the summer to make up for the incompetence of the coaches, and they decided to take that offer back. They suggested we move on to North Crest Gymnastics. Luckily our daughter is still interested, but she was devastated by the news. I will not recommend a kiddo to join this facility. In the photo, you will see the 2 bars. All they needed to do is adjust the higher bar.

My daughter loves going to gymnastics here and I feel she is progressing and learning and a great pace. It seems like she comes out of each session with a new skill and is proud to show it off.

My daughter was bullied by a young instructor and after telling management about it the young instructor got a slap on the hand and was back at work. My daughter wasn’t taught by her after that but still had to see her in the gym at every practice which made it extremely uncomfortable and after a few sessions we decided to quit all together. I was also told I would receive a discount and be prorated which never happened either.

I originally wrote a review on their Facebook page but it was deleted and blocked. Yikes
BIRTHDAY PARTY REVIEW
On Sunday, we were scheduled to have my daughter's sixth birthday party at Granite City Gymnastics with nine of her friends. We had a band of thunderstorms come through town that took out power in most of Sartell and a good deal of Waite park. I spent the entire morning trying to get a hold of someone and driving down to the building several times to see if the lights were on. There was a fire truck parked at the end of the road because of a down powerline and all the businesses in that area were shut down including the Home Depot and Crafts Direct. Finally, I got my daughter ready one hour before the party was supposed to start and I was trying to prepare her that she may have her party she may not. At this point I still had not heard anything from anyone at Granite City, but figured if I showed up a half an hour early it would give me time to let the other parents know if we needed to cancel. I showed up with my daughter and her party dress and birthday tiara, cupcakes in hand 30 minutes before the party was supposed to start. Still nobody was there. We waited for 10 minutes and at 20 minutes before party time I decided that I better let the other parents know that we will have to postpone the party because I wasn't sure if they were going to be open or not and I didn't want 10 disappointed five and six-year-old standing outside. So I gently let my daughter know that we were still going to have a great day but we need to postpone her party, she began to cry and I started to write text messages to the other parents. I responded to some text messages and I wrote a second band of text messages when the staff opened up the door 15 minutes before party time. At this point I was a little in shock, but wrote back to all the parents say just get here when you can and they brought their kids.
I understand that there are situations that are out of our control.
I decided I should give a little feedback to the party director that if there is a situation such as a large power outage or bad weather that a courtesy call to the family or at least staff showing up a half an hour early would be helpful. When I spoke to the director of parties, Gail, she refused to hear my concerns, but rather argued with me that her staff was there 20 minutes early and that their policy is that their staff needs to be there in 20 to 30 minutes before the birthday party to set up. I stated that this was not true, as indicated by my cell phone records with my first batch of text messages going out at 12:10 when there was nobody there. She continued to argue with me and interrupt me instead of hearing my concern and the stress that it caused. Her apology was "I am sorry that YOU canceled the party BUT..." She also repeatedly questioned me, "did you receive a phone call stating that your party would be canceled? (No) then why would you assume that your party was canceled?" Our entire conversation consisted of her speaking over me, interrupting me, and accusing me of lying. At the end of the conversation she stated that she did not have my payment information on hand, to which I replied that I would grab it but I had gone up to the front desk and handed over my debit card at the end of the party. The staff slid it through the card reader about 20 times when I asked her if she could write down the numbers and process as a payment in that manner. Gail them stated. "Is that was this is about? You want a free party out of this?" I repeated that I had attempted to pay at the end of the party and that I was going for my wallet. In the end I paid for the party, and contacted the director, Tommy. I have spoken to him and I'm still waiting for a resolution to this issue. I will update review if this issue is resolved. I would have been satisfied with, "I'm sorry and we will look into our policy to see how we can prevent something like this from happening again." Until then, I definitely do NOT recommend you do business with this facility.
