I’ve been training with Professor José since the very beginning of my Jiu Jitsu journey. He promoted me from white belt all the way to black belt. I’ve always believed — and still do — that Professor José is, and always will be, the best Jiu Jitsu instructor in the world.

Amazing instructor. The gym is clean and well laid out. Nice area for the kids to play while you train. But really the biggest draw is the quality of the instruction. I had my first Brazilian jiujutsu class in the 90s. And Jose is the best instructor that I have ever had. He is not only a walking encyclopedia of Brazilian jiujutsu, but this man can teach and explain the details that make jiujutsu come alive and easy to understand.
Also my kid has been coming to class for about six months now. And he is not only learning a lot but also having a blast. He asks every day if today are we going to bjj.

My son attends the kids class at Haus 021 and it is fantastic! Coach Jose is great with the kids and you can tell he really takes pride in what he does. This was my son’s first experience with Jiu jitsu , so he was a little nervous. Jose and the other children that attend class have been so welcoming and have made him feel comfortable. He wants to go every day now! The classes are structured in a way that teaches skills , while still being fun & accessible to all levels. My son is learning valuable life lessons about self-confidence, respect and attention. The facility is always clean and the vibe is great! Highly recommend!

High level Jiu Jitsu knowledge at Haus021. Jose Varella has helped me elevate my Jiu Jitsu with his attention to detail, ability to break down and explain positional situations, and willingness to just sit and talk Jiu Jitsu. He takes his time to help everyone improve.

Haus 021 is a great place for anyone to get into Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and fitness. My two sons and I have known coach Jose and his family for over 3 years now. We went through hundreds of training sessions and tournaments by his guidance and support. Jose is a brilliant trainer. He is a highly knowledgeable and experienced coach. Such a great experience working out and learning the basics of jiu jitsu. Ze was very good at providing clear instructions, giving modifications if needed and most importantly kept it fun. As a busy working mom this was a great way for me to learn something new , be active and gain confidence. Bonus, I was able to relax in the lounge after with compression . Double bonus , I can bring my daughter there to train/learn too !!

Ze is a very patient and kind instructor. He provides so much education with skills taught. My kids had a little stage fright, but eventually warmed up with his help. Both he and his wife are so amazing with kids! I’ve worked with Jen for years and have always seen the love she expresses for all people, fitness and overall wellness. This is a new BJJ gym that opened in Mendota Heights, MN. The instructor is amazing, we are enrolling our kids in their kids class (Jose the instructor has 12 years experience in kids programing and its very dialed in), I have been attending the adult classes.

Great Culture, phenomenal instruction, and probably the nicest gym i've seen (Clean, New, lots of amenities). This is a family shop so you are not just a number, everyone knows your name and Jose is dedicated to helping you develop your game. I highly recommend Haus 021.

Beginners, Kids, and Advanced Adults will feel at home here.
