I’m writing to express my concerns about the overall experience at your facility. The front desk staff often seem unprofessional and not very welcoming when members ask for help or information. Better customer service would make a big difference.

Additionally, some members occupy the workout equipment for long periods without consideration for others, and staff rarely step in to manage this. This makes it difficult for others to complete their workouts efficiently.

Lastly, the cleanliness of the gym needs improvement. Some areas and equipment are not well maintained, which affects both comfort and hygiene.

I hope management takes these issues seriously and implements improvements to ensure a more respectful, clean, and customer-friendly environment.

Walking into this LA Fitness, I wanted to feel that familiar spark some energy, some motivation to fuel my workout. Instead, the first thing that hit me wasn’t excitement, but silence. The front desk staff barely look up, barely acknowledge you. No greeting, no energy just a quick scan of your card, and you’re on your way. It sets the tone immediately: you’re here, but don’t expect anyone to care.

Once inside, the vibe only continues downhill. The music is so faint it might as well not exist soft, generic playlists that don’t inspire anything. Lighting is dull, the walls feel bare, and there’s no sense of movement or buzz. In most gyms, you’ll hear clanking weights, upbeat tracks, or even an instructor hyping up a class in the background. Here? It’s quiet, but not in a focused, motivating way it’s quiet in a drained, heavy way. Almost like everyone is just dragging themselves through the motions.

Looking around, the energy of the members mirrors the environment. People keep to themselves, headphones in, heads down. And while focus is great, the overall atmosphere feels more like a waiting room than a fitness club. Nobody is smiling, nobody looks particularly motivated, and instead of being lifted up by the crowd, you feel weighed down by the lack of enthusiasm. For someone already struggling to stay consistent or trying to build new habits, this type of environment is discouraging. Instead of thinking, “I can do this,” you think, “Do I really even want to be here?”

Even the group classes, which should be the heartbeat of the gym, fall flat. The instructors aren’t bad, but they lack the fire you see elsewhere. Classes feel more like a box being checked than an experience designed to pump people up. What should be the most energizing part of the gym ends up blending into the same monotone vibe as the rest of the space.

It’s frustrating, because on paper this gym has what you need: rows of cardio machines, racks of free weights, a pool, a sauna, and enough space to move around. But the atmosphere matters. A gym is more than equipment it’s about energy, culture, and creating a place where people want to better themselves. When that spark is missing, the entire experience suffers.

The truth is, you can still get a good workout here if you’re entirely self-driven and bring your own motivation. But for those who need that extra push the type of person who feeds off the vibe of the room, who looks for a community or even just a small spark of energy to keep them going this gym is going to feel like a slog. Instead of walking out feeling accomplished and energized, you’re more likely to leave with the same low energy you walked in with.

For me, that’s the biggest issue with this location. A gym should inspire progress, not feel like another chore. And until the staff, atmosphere, and overall energy improve, this LA Fitness is always going to fall short of being the motivating, uplifting place people need on their fitness journeys.

The hot tub is the worsted! It had not been working as it should be , working 1-2 days then nor working 3-4 day out of The week. People complained to the front desk many times and the issues still not not properly fix! The pool, I don’t think it’s been cleaned lately! Amongst the 4, this is probably the nicest LA Fitness I've been to; Great custodial staff, nice equipment, and good spacing.

My pet peeve with the place is that people so frequently leave weight on machines, dumbbells laying in the middle of the floor, EZ- bars and dumbbells put back in the wrong places, etc.

In pre-school they teach us to put our toys back in the toy bin we got them from, yet it feels like there's a secret pact amongst the members of this gym to drop all etiquette and sometimes even go out of their way to put things back in the wrong places.

Unfortunately, I dont see how this could improve because there are already signs around the gym saying to rerack weights: it just doesn't matter.

I would recommend this gym, but be prepared to rerack others' weights 75% of the time you need to use a machine, and expect the chance that you have to go on a scavenger hunt to see where the weights you need were last used/left.

The only staff who I feel like actually do their job are the custodial staff. The front desk person more often than not is starring at their phone. Sales people have their feet up on their desks - on their phones once again and seem to lack professionalism. And the nail in the coffin - seeing staff/management blatantly parking in handicap spots.

I figure I would check out this gym i was in the mood to play basketball maybe workout a little before the Super Bowl it’s going to be a great day.
Once I made it there I was greeted by this guy name Adam who was annoying and asking me a million questions for no real reason the guy that gave me a pass to check them out and possibly become a member and the Adam guy completely shut it down why because I replied to him I most likely would only play basketball and he felt like I wouldn’t be a good fit for there gym !
The place was not even the best set up I felt like my car was goin to get broke into in the parking lot anyways smh but I’d say it’s the people who work there more then the set up ! Trash

It’s very infuriating and ridiculous because I don’t see what excuse is there to shut doors during the operating hours ON YOUR WEBSITE! Some of the staff start locking us out by 9 when it closes at 10. I don’t know when they started that rule of 9:30 too but they could at least put a disclaimer on their site or change the times to close at 9/9:30! Like imagine getting dressed to workout , drive all the way and they deny you entry like I can’t do a quick 30 - 50 minute workout? People are already in there so why can’t I come in as well? It’s winter now and it would be nice to do a quick walk on the treadmill after dinner.
If you come very early in the morning sometimes there’s literally no staff there. You want us to give you leeway when you open late but you can’t give us leeway too? A few times you come when they are supposed to be open and they aren’t at all. My work hours are already long and this really makes my day worse coming here to try to destress just to be turned away since my schedule is limited. I already bring my own wipes because they don’t have none but this new time restriction really makes me irritated at this place because this is the third time this month where I drove there for nothing. PF is so ugly but I’d rather deal with their ugliness than to continue this

Went in while visiting some friends who had a couple free day passes. Was directed from the front desk to one of the side desks to fill out paperwork. Once there we were told we could not use the day passes because we were not local. Was fine with it even though the passes didn't say that on them. Went back to the front desk to pay for the day and the woman at the desk asked why we weren't using the day passes anymore. Informed her that we weren't allowed because we weren't local. She looked at the passes and saw that they didn't say you had to be local so she decided to let us in with the day passes. So we headed to the locker room and while changing the guy who told us we couldn't use the day pass comes up to us and tells us that he was told by the front desk that we "didn't feel like paying the day fee" we informed him that we were planning on paying the day fee until she said that she would honor the day passes and let us in. He then said she didn't have the authority to do that and that we needed to pay. I said fine and handed him $40 for me and my friend that was with me. He then said that he would bring me a receipt. About an hour goes by and he hasn't returned with the receipt and we are getting ready to leave. So we head back up to the front desk to ask for the receipt where we get flagged down by the guy that took the $40. He then proceeds to have "computer problems" leading us to use his coworkers computer where instead of giving me a receipt he prints off the liability waiver and claims it is the receipt. He also tried to ring me up a gift card instead of the day pass. I would not recommend using this gym and to LA fitness I'm pretty sure the guy that was working this location on the morning of 10/26 pocketed my $40 so you may want to look into that.

Im giving it 2 stars because everytime I go theres no cleaning wipes ANYWHERE up stairs. Come downstairs and there’s only 1 container that has wipes. I feel like if the cleaning lady that is there is still not there to re-fill; the front desk or others can definitely re-fill it for the guests!

I’ve been dealing with this club for over 10 years on and off and primarily just this location!

The lack of consistency with opening on time is ridiculous for the members who are early risers.. we’ve literally dealt with the most inconsistent employees up until this last year and a half..

This lady named Erika literally from day ONE has always been early and opening ON TIME! Consistently to one point she worked all 7 days because of the problem with weekend staff. Even times after taken off weekends build bonds with members where we were able to call and get assistance on weekends when SHE WAS OFF.. to come open the doors after waiting over 30 mins past opening time.. AND SHE WOULD STAY TIL THE NEXT AVAILABLE EMPLOYEE COMES! if she wasn’t asked to just stay that entire shift..

NO COMPLAINTS.. always had high energy! Made it easy to work with!

Now we are dealing with already the same consistent issues as before and it’s only been 2 days.. and this is the “Traits” of this In particular location..

And for the janitor to be outside EARLY.. and told not to open EVEN after the business should be open!! Is BEYOND ME.. yall must do better!

Nearly a member for a decade. Here’s an indicator how much staff cares about maintaining the club for people who’ve already been here for years. Just Monday there was a water bottle by the preacher curl stand. I came back Tuesday and Thursday and it was still there. They haven’t ever clean the dumbbells in nearly my 10 years of being there. The handles stink. The actual weights smell lol. The lower weight plate numbers on a bunch of machines have been scraped off for YEARS and nobody has given a care to put new ones on. The front desk lately has been sitting in his phone while people off the street get in- one tried to walk out with someone’s bag but was caught by the owner. It’s filthy and the management doesn’t wanna pay to do any detail cleaning although it’s sorely needed.

Was scared to try out this gym bc of the terrible reviews. I’m happy to report I had a phenomenal experience as the gym is clean and well-kept. I checked out the infamous whirlpool here that so many people have had issues with. It was clean as well as the pool. Positive community and great workers. Jordan the GM helped me set up my membership this morning and was very friendly and personable. Seems like a great gym, my only issue is the limited weekend hours. Highly recommend!

Went into the Gym to get a boxing workout in and it’s in the facility center where they hold Zumba Classes.

Whoever the “instructor is” (Not Angela) was rude and condescending when kicking me out. She said “ I’m the instructor and I help out and me and her don’t want you in here. Get out of here.”

I told her I had boxed during a class before and wasn’t informed it was policy..and she cut me off saying “get out.”

I’m an understanding person, and was planning to leave and come back when they were done. Whoever that instructor is definitely needs to work on how she communicates to people. No need to be rude, and unprofessional.

I just have to say since Lukas, the operations manager at the Brooklyn Center location, has done such great & amazing things! Both locker rooms have new saunas, the men's locker got fixed, he makes sure all the machines are all in good working condition, he helps anyone that needs help, he has a great working relationship with his staff, he's been a huge asset to this club!
