The club itself is pretty good. However they need to post more signs in the locker room and Sauna to educate people on how to behave in shared public spaces. Routinely I see people in the sauna spitting, shaving, doing full out exercises, the sporadic farmer blow, on FaceTime calls with speaker phone, playing loud music like everyone loves their playlist. Also lots of people taking selfies and probably other photographs in the locker room. Don’t forget the trash everywhere despite the fact that the cleaning folks here are top notch. They just can’t keep up with the lack of respect.

For those of us that start early in the morning, the gym consistently opens on time Monday through Thursday. Friday’s are a luck of the draw, sometimes on time, sometimes 20-30 minutes past posted opening hours, sometimes no one shows up at all. Very frustrating when you’re on a schedule.

I had the most unbelievable experience here, I really can't make it up.

The gym itself is dated, including unmaintained and out of service equipment. Half the treadmills don't work, the stair masters are shaky, and most of the leather on the seats is peeling off. The showers are filthy. But that's the least of my worries.

The personal training program was the greatest disappointment I have ever experienced. The personal training director, Nejra (whom I understand is no longer at this location, and yes I'm naming names) was kind and professional when I first met her. She walked me through the program and showed me promising results. After consideration, I signed an agreement promising me a notebook with training material as well as 1-on-1 sessions with a trainer at the club. At the time I signed, I was granted courtesy sessions with Nejra, as there was no trainer available. The "sessions" I had with her were essentially 30 minutes of her pointing at a machine and telling me to do it. There were multiple instances of her canceling on me as I'm warming up, as well as not notifying me of a cancellation until I arrived. After two months of courtesy sessions (WHILE BEING BILLED) I had received neither notebook or trainer. After that I became in contact with the Vice President, Joe, to complain. He arranged an in-person meeting with me and Nejra. I arrived 10 minutes early to the appointment, and it took him 20 minutes after our scheduled time to meet. Nejra never showed.

After checking my file, I had 1 recorded session with a trainer (which never happened, I found that odd). The best solution he had for me was to officially set me up with a trainer, Will, who would have materials ready for me by my appointment in a few days. Please note that my agreement was not extended, as 2 months were wasted.

Few days later came around. I arrived to my appointment 10 minutes early, when I receive a phone call from Nejra. She apologized for missing our meeting, and also informed me that the Joe is no longer with the company. She then told me that my trainer had walked out and won't be able to train me that night. I'm disappointed but not surprised. As I was driving away, I received another phone call from an unknown number. It was Will, the trainer who was supposed to meet with me, asking me to come back to the club. I politely refused as I was notified that it was canceled. I then heard him yell something away from the phone and hung up on me. Few minutes later, I receive ANOTHER phone call from Nejra. She began begging me to return, again I refuse. She started crying on the phone, unloading a lot of her personal information on to me and putting me in a very awkward situation.

The next morning I let her know that I'm seeking cancellation. She began begging me to stay, asking for another chance, etc. She gave me personal excuses as to why I was never properly set up with a trainer. I was also told I had a notebook the whole time (which I was never notified of). After a bit more arguing, I was told billing would stop. Next billing date rolled around, and I was billed for that month! I immediately contacted Nejra for a refund. After waiting a week for a refund, she through me another excuse as to why it never went through.

I decided to work straight through my bank and dispute all charges. I gave them all the evidence I had to prove I never received ANYTHING I was paying for. I just received the letter in the mail today stating my claim was found invalid and there's nothing I can do. That's why I'm writing this review, this is all the power I have left!

I am well aware of the agreement I signed. It is frustrating to have wasted almost $600 for sheer unprofessionalism, disappointment, and fraud.

You're better off at Planet Fitness.

the place is pretty nice but the employees there are super unhelpful except a couple women who work there, they are super friendly and nice. however, the manager and a couple other male employees are rude and don’t do their job correctly. one of them has the audacity to talk about a child even though they had absolutely no reason to be talking behind people’s back like that. the manager is always playing games on the computer slacking off and when you go ask for help, they just say i don’t know as if they don’t work there. other people have told me their experience there and it just adds to the bias that this isn’t the greatest gym here, planet fitness does better.

Walked in to get more info about the gym and the two employees at the counter (one was completely slouched back in his chair) just looked at me until I said hello and asked questions. Not welcoming at all.
When I asked to tour the gym, I was pointed over to "her over there". I guess the guy was too comfortable in his chair to get up and show me who or walk me over.
The tour took about 2 minutes, the woman that walked me around was very nice but was not sure about class schedules and pool use.

If you want to sign up for new gym membership, don't go to this location unless you want to deal with incompetent managers and staff. When I was signing up, I was told I was only going have one charge for the month. I was charged twice for the month. When I called about it, they told me the manager would call me back they never did. When I called back myself again, They were zombie like. Zero customer service and human relations skills. The carpet is full of dust. Extremely allergy prone. I canceled my membership for one reason, and that is lack of accountability. You didn't do what you said, and you failed to solve the problem after it was addressed. I wish I signed up with planet fitness the first time. Now I am in $150 in debt. Sidenote, Planet fitness has no carpet on the floor and the staff are real people who can communicate.

The facility was fine - always got what I wanted out of it. But you will have to fight tooth and nail to cancel your membership, even if it is expiring and you just don't want to renew it.

The systems behind LA Fitness are awful. I moved out of state and no longer needed my membership so I asked them to cancel it. Apparently only managers can do this and there is usually one manager available between multiple locations (e.g. most days of the week, if you call this store ZERO 'managers' are there working). So every time I've called they just say, sorry you'll have to call back when someone who can do it is around (nobody ever is).

I have been trying to cancel my membership for two months, and still have not gotten them to stop charging me. There is no online system to do this without having access to your member ID, which of course is something they wont give me.

Apparently the standard for cancellation is printing off a form and mailing it to them, which is absurd. It seems like they can't get new business so they just are resorting to try to hold onto whatever customer they have by never letting them out of their agreement.

I even had one instance where I called, the person who answered said something along the lines of 'yeah ill take care of that for you you wont be charged any more' and proceeded to not do anything. Absurd experience.

This is my favorite LA fitness in the twin cities area. I have been to 11/15 of them and this one is by far the most spacious and best equipped. For once, there are finally enough squat racks!!! The staff is always welcoming, it is consistently clean, and the gym culture is pretty great.

First off my review is regarding the area. The gym is fine and has one of the best janitor cleaner worker I have ever seen anywhere.

The review is about the crime in the area. There are no cameras in the gym or the parking lot so cars have been stolen as well and locker rooms raided for personal items.
Yesterday my car was broken into and another was stolen but without cameras this will only keep happening to other people.

Watch out for cars following you next to your car. They scan your locking car signal to remotely open your car, clone a key and steal your car. The Burnsville PD says this is common

As a member of the gym for the past four years (with a brief hiatus during the height of the pandemic) I am extremely disappointed with the management at LA Fitness over the past two months. My friends and I attend Zumba classes multiple times/week in the group fitness room. Many of us pay our monthly memberships strictly for these classes which are held in this room, and we continue to be given conflicting information regarding an air conditioning part that management claims has been back ordered. This lack of air conditioning has resulted in unbearable workout conditions and a decrease in class sizes from week to week. I spoke with an employee at the front desk on Monday, August 1. It was her first day and she had no idea there was an issue with the group fitness room. When I asked if she had a supervisor available, there was no one to be found. The employee could not even find a business card or give me a name for a manager or shift supervisor.

I understand the pandemic continues to place a strain on management and employment, but this is unacceptable. Gym members continue to kindly express our concerns only to be placated by employees who are most likely not getting paid enough, and are unhelpful in their roles due to a lack of leadership presence at the gym. As a result, some of the women in our classes are frustrated and unable to finish their workouts because the heat is so unbearable. At the very least, our instructors and classmates should receive an apology along with functional air conditioning ASAP. In an ideal world, we should receive discounted membership for the rest of the year.

For many of us, these classes are more than just a place to work on our physical health. To us, our gym has become a community that also champions our mental and emotional health. This place of respite has become a stressful place to be, and LA Fitness leadership should not take our concerns lightly. I hope the Burnsville location will rectify this soon so we can get back to doing what we love safely and comfortably.

I am from Oklahoma. I travel a good amount for work. LA fitness has given me the opportunity to workout there as a guest. Unfortunately we do not have one in Oklahoma, if not that would be my first choice to be a member. Good atmosphere with a clean facility, plenty of free weights and machines available. For the past 10 years i used to go to the edina location i love that gym is always clean and the staff is always friendly but I moved a month ago to Lakeville and the Burnsville is closer to my house, I only visited this location once and already had and issue the manager or the person in charge of closing that night told us that he was closing the sauna because the gym was closing it was like around 6:20 pm on a Sunday and the gym closes at 7:00 pm when i was getting ready to leave he turned off the lights too. i never going to this location again.

I visited the Burnsville facility with a friend. Since I live in Wisconsin and already belong to a fitness club, there was no sense in hassling me about my personal information. I’ve been an original member of la fitness since 2007 and was looking to re join because you couldn’t beat the price. I made an appointment with some lady and was going to sign up. They offer 2 deals one is 10 dollars a month for single club and 25 dollars for all the clubs: after telling the lady that I live a block away and would only need the 10 dollar a month package she pretty much laughed in my face and said that’s just a marketing gimmick. And before I was able to say anything got up abruptly and said “ if your not going to sign up than have a good day.

Signed up for a year of training sessions at this LA Fitness location and within that time I was tossed around to 5 different trainers as many quit or left the location. 3 of the trainers left the LA without providing me with any communication. I then had to work on my own to find a new trainer at that location, causing me to build up unused sessions. As the end of my year for training came to a close, those unused sessions, which are already paid for by me, are taken away from me after a month causing hundreds of dollars to be wasted. I then had an emergency back surgery, allowing me to cancel the membership with no cancellation fee, but having cancelled the membership just a day before receiving the annual and monthly bill, the billing manager (Nick) said there was no way to issue a refund and would not work with me to right this issue at all. Although, I’d like to give thanks and positive recognition to the manager Mineta as she was very friendly and helpful during my time at this gym.

I understand there is a mask mandate. But if I'm not within even 20 feet of anyone, and taking a breather between sets after a heavy few reps, Its ridiculous to be hassled. Especially when you see plenty of people with masks down occasionally (which I'm fine with).

Decent gym, but if the staff want to operate like this, I won't recommend it.

Not going back right now, even though it is open. Not many wearing masks, and management does seem too concerned with enforcing masks policy. Not safe Covid for me, even though they are limiting capacity.

Mineta Sharma this old lady has problems, she has been rude to me since day one December 20th. I never hear her say "Please or Thank you" she ask for my ID and when she was done using it, she throws it back at me. On top of that they want you to wear a damn mask while working out, Planet Fitness does not require that at all while working out. I dont know whats her problem towards me she makes me not want to join. I'll keep my membership with Planet Fitness to avoid putting up with her.
