Super unfortunate that there is no longer a basketball court. I would always end my workout shooting some hoops. Now the only lifetime nearby with a court is SLP but you have to upgrade your membership to go. This is very inconvenient and wish there was a discussion around this. Shame on you LFT. Otherwise would be a top notch gym

Excellent club. Great instructors, trainers, hospitality staff, food service staff are all top notch. Club is smaller and usually less busy. Good variety of classes and recovery area. Red light beds, infrared sauna, steam rooms men and women separate. Large lap pool and co ed spa whirlpool. Miora is great. Steve F is the BEST! Alex, Fiona, Chloe, Sydney, Brent, Bruno, Nina and all the janitorial staff is exceptional. Good selection of equipment. Locker rooms and club is always clean and smells good. The people at the cafe are ALWAYS friendly and the food is good.

Great club but REMOVED basketball courts! This was the main reason I and a lot of other people would show up consistently and it always had great pickup and community. Removing this feels like they didn’t care or know about the best feature this gym had. Management seems out of touch and/or doesn’t care. Disappointing, going elsewhere that actually has a court.

Worst location for a gym. You have to pay for parking and during events the parking fills up or is $25. Something is always broken in the woman's "spa" (sauna, steam room, or whirlpool) and the last time I used the whirlpool in the woman's locker room there was some kind of black gunk in the water. They also raised the price of membership, probably to pay for renovating the only basketball court into "L Games".

Lifetime Fitness Downtown has a great facility with plenty of space and equipment, and it’s very well-maintained. The only major downside is parking—street parking is expensive (around $10 if you stay three hours) and sometimes hard to find. The parking situation is really inconvenient, which makes me prefer other locations like St. Louis Park. Overall, the gym itself is excellent, but parking is a serious challenge.

I truly cannot say enough great things about this gym. From the moment you step through the doors, the front desk team greets you with friendliness that immediately makes you feel at home. The entire facility is spotless, from the locker rooms to the well-maintained workout equipment. It's evident that the staff take pride in keeping everything in shape. I often see team members actively cleaning and organizing, and those efforts do not go unnoticed.

The variety of classes is fantastic, and the club hosts fun events that foster a real sense of community. General Manager Brian runs the gym with professionalism and efficiency, creating an environment where both staff and members thrive. The café is a treat in itself, offering a range of fresh, healthy, and tasty food and drink options.

What truly sets this location apart is the people. The staff here are AMAZING, and they create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for everyone. A special shoutout to Chloe, Cain, and Logan for going above and beyond to make every member feel valued and supported. I strongly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a clean, well-run, and friendly fitness community.

It's disappointing to see the basketball courts are gone. That area was consistently one of the most lively and well-used parts of the facility, fostering a great sense of community among a diverse group of patrons. It's sad to see that community space replaced by an area that seems much less utilized with zero energy or sense of comunity. I'm struggling to understand the rationale for removing such a popular and unifying feature and would appreciate more transparency on the decision.

Do not buy an overpriced membership with less amenities for athletes. No basketball = scam. La Fitness is cheaper with better saunas and an actual basketball. Upper management obviously not welcoming a certain demographic

I've been going to this club for 10+ years. How ridiculous of them to remove both basketball courts! They removed the first one in 2021 for pickle ball which I understood. They recently removed the second one for some obnoxious crossfit game circuit. Mind you, all the same machines for the crossfit circuit exist throughout the entire gym. The basketball courts were always busy and the members enjoyed it. What kind of gym doesn't have a basketball court?

Regular gym goer so the price of this place, although high, isn’t a huge bother for me. What is bothersome is the replacement of an entire basketball court that had near-constant use for a “Lifetime games” circuit. In what world does it make more sense to spend what must’ve been tens of thousands of dollars for a rarely used (but obnoxiously loud while in use) game circuit that could easily be done within the already existing training rooms??? In fact, if you want to build something new why not do it in the unused squash/racket ball rooms? Such a bizarre waste of money that actively drives away business. Why not spend it on making sure the technogym equipment is always charged lol? Or fixing the busted water bottle holders on the treadmills?
Can’t wait for the email in a year or two thats announces the court coming back. Glad my money is being spent well.

The club is amazing!! But the removal of not only a basketball court but the former practice court of the Timberwolves gets an automatic 1 star. The CEO isn’t listening to the customer! I surely hope they’ll regret their decision.

It's extremely expensive, even if you work downtown the location is annoying to get to. They make it very easy to sign up, but REALLY hard to cancel your membership. The upside is because of all the downsides, they're never all that busy.

I was referred to Sydney by a friend, and from our first consultation, I knew I was in great hands. She took the time to understand my goals and built a plan that covered both workouts and nutrition. I’ve worked with trainers before, but none have been as invested as Sydney—she’s not just a trainer, she’s your biggest cheerleader!

Since starting with her in October, I haven’t just reached my goals—I’ve exceeded them. She’s shared so much valuable fitness and nutrition knowledge, making every session both effective and enjoyable.

What sets Sydney apart is her energy and authenticity. She treats her clients like friends and truly cares about their success. Watching her lead a cycle class or train clients, her passion is unmatched.

If you’re looking for a trainer who is knowledgeable, supportive, and motivating, book a consult with Sydney. Her vibe attracts her tribe, and I’m grateful to be part of it!

Great gym. Employees are super nice and best part is there is plenty of space for everyone.

My only issue the basketball courts and pickleball courts are in the center of the gym so it tends to get REALLY loud at times where you have to blast music to avoid the noise.

Ideally the courts are covered with glass or someway to soundproof it a bit from the rest of the gym.

Priced wayyyy more than it's worth. I recently moved to Minneapolis from DC, but travel quite a bit, making a monthly membership not worth it. I have worked out here with friends before so I was interested in working out here a couple times a month. They do not sell numbered packages like many gyms (a 10-visit pack for example) and a day pass is $40! I turned around and walked out when they gave me that price. Totally out of step with gyms in larger cities. My luxury gym in DC charges $27 for a day pass for a far nicer experience. Life Time is a **fine** gym, but certainly not worth it's current price point...this is Minneapolis, not DC or New York. They've lost a potential customer in me. 🫤

What a difference from my main Life Time location (Woodbury). This place is HUGE!

Decpite the fact that I did not feel as welcomed at first (very unlike of all my other experiences at Life Time at the other locations) things turned out great. As I entered, I decided to snap a few pictures (like I normally do for my reviews) and one of the check-in staff (bald dude) came at me all hot asking if I needed help and why I was taking pictures (not in a nice tone or lightly curious way). It was definitely not a pleasant interaction, but I kept it polite and we moved on our separate way. The rest of the staff interactions I had were great, everyone seemed really friendly (like the Life Time I know and love).

They have some sweet equipment. Asside from the traditional machines, ect. I have seen at the othet Gyms, they have some sweet TechnoGym machines (I didn't try them, but looked like something I would enjoy). I spent most of my time in one of the Alpha rooms (Leg day). Shortly into my workout, Steven Adams and Santi Aldama from the Grizzlies team came into the room with their trainer and started working out in the squat racks next to me. I suppose being right by the Timberwolves area, it made sense. Had a great leg day though.

I work downtown, in the skyway system, so I will definitely be getting a workout here on the rare occasions that I go into the office.

Downstairs inside the Target Center. Ample space, equipment, and the equipment + amenities you’d expect from Life Time Fitness.

Front desk was friendly, lockers are very large, indoor running track, 2 basketball courts, swimming pool + hot tubs, cafe & bar. And even a office/business workspace area - sadly I didn’t test their internet speeds.

Compared to NYC Life Time price @ $250+/mo this place is amazing. You pay less & get more. It’s 10x larger & less crowded.

I just wish Life Time showers had face wash & rubber mats in the walkway to increase safety & minimize slipping.

I move to eagan and find out that I could've just cancelled when I had it on hold but "because" I brought the account back to active, there would be a 30 day wait before it can be cancelled, which means they scam me out of another 30 days that I don't even use this account. Nice facility. Staff can be rude and less than accommodating.

Fine place to workout, has all the equipment you need and more but is often dirty and not well maintained (hair on equipment, dustballs on floors, etc.) Also as noted in several other reviews the pricing policies are shady and unethical:
1. Prices go up every year but the services included go down. Specific examples: a. Lockers used to be free, now you pay extra to use an overnight locker. b. Classes used to be free, now majority are paid classes.
2. Cost of additional classes (i.e. Bootcamp, Alpha/Xfit) is more than joining a standalone Xfit box.
3. I was out of the country for an extended period so was told I could put my membership 'on hold' and easily reactivate it automatically upon my return. I returned this week and was stopped and harassed three times, finally was told I had to meet with a Membership Specialist to re-sign paperwork and get my membership re-activated.

It's terribly disappointing when a company claiming to support "wellness" is actually a greed-driven corporation with no values.

A truly comprehensive place for working out and all things wellness. If you live within 2.5 miles or so, they will even send a shuttle to and from your home M-F. They have yoga classes, spin classes, cardio classes, a swimming pool, a fully functional spa/salon, racquetball courts, and basketball courts among much more. The staff is very friendly. Rates can be pricey, but they do have a special rate for families and those under 27.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM, they will not let you cancel your account unless you write them a letter. No matter how much I have tried to tell them, and despite not having any written contract and terms of service, they have continued to ignore my requests to cease and desist. BUYER BEWARE

Great gym with one fatal flaw - shady pricing policy.

1) Ordered PT session on the lifetime website for 75 LT bucks. At the gym, staff member announced that I actually have to pay $120. I asked why and did not get a coherent answer. After some talk, I did the session for $75. What was this $120 about? Nobody knows. And that happened 3 times.

2) I did Metabolic assessment for $99 right after I became a member. 6 month later, I wanted to repeat it. I went to the PT desk and they told me that I have to pay $249 for the second metabolic assessment. I clarified that I mean the most basic metabolic assessment that they did last time, NOT the advanced one. They told me, yes, to do basic metabolic assessment the second time costs $249. In the end I ordered it on the website and did it for $99. Did the PT desk try to scam me or something? What was that about?

3) And, finally, the situation that made me thinking of cancelling my membership and looking into other gyms. My girlfriend was interested in becoming a member. We live together and have the same mailing address. I though I could just add her to my account for extra pay. Nope. Two issues emerged. One - I have to have a mortgage with my girlfriend in order to get her on my account. Every gym in the US looks at mailing address only, what makes you so special, lifetime? And the second issue - the price for us having a joined account was $169. If we join separately it will be $75 each or $150. The sales manager told me following: "Yeah, you better have separate accounts, it is cheaper." Maybe Lifetime is not aware, but the whole point of joined account is to SAVE MONEY ON MEMBERSHIP COST. Your price of joined account might make some sense in your weird corporate environment, but from the consumer side it makes absolutely no sense at all.

It is really too bad. The gym is great. But I'm sick of its pricing policy and constant attempts of staff to scam me on extra services. I think my girlfriend and I will join another gym not far from Lifetime when they finish renovating it.

Looks like I was right in the beginning and Lifetime is for people who does not count money after all.

P.S. Finally canceled my membership. So, what was the straw that broke camel's back? My birthday present. I turned 27. They gave me a free PT session, which was nice. What else... Oh! 30% hike in my membership cost! Yup, that is right. I paid $81, and for my birthday I got charged $107. Now, isn't that a neat present? That was my new rate! Bottom line - you you make less than $120,000 - it is not a place for you. It is a great gym if you can get past the cost. If not - there are other gyms literally blocks away with same amenities and for half a price.

This is the best Life Time of the half a dozen or so that I have visited (in MN). Everyone is extremely friendly. The facility is clean and well maintained. It is definitely worth the cost.

Best customer service I've ever had at a gym and I've belonged to quite a few. Wouldn't trade my membership for another gym great classes and had excellent luck with personal trainers as well. No it's not the most affordable but you do certainly get what you pay for when you come here.

This is a very decent, renovated Life Time facility. There is a lot of cardio and lifting equipment, and the focus is on class exercise, so there are lots of rooms for spinning, boxing and other activities. I have never seen it too busy (apparently lunch time it the peak), so it works well for a morning or evening workout session.

A spacious gym that has dramatically improved by leaps and bounds with recent renovations and new equipment. Yet it still keeps operating hours for a downtown that existed 20 years ago and not today. There's more people living in the downtown, that number will only increase over time and it would be great if the gym stayed open to midnight during weekdays and 11pm during weekends so that busy professionals don't have to drive out to St Louis Park to get in a later workout.
