This is by far the dingiest Life Time Iβve ever been too. Itβs smells horrible in here. I couldnβt even go on any of the treadmills. The smell was just disgusting. I feel bad for the people who live in this city and have to use this gym on the regular. The sauna was also the smallest sauna Iβve ever been in, in my entire life. Also. The blonde woman and the guy with the receding hairline and glasses, who work at the front desk didnβt even acknowledge me when I scanned in and when I left. I thought that was ridiculous.

I may take my interactions seriously than others but Iβm not one to usually leave if one minor thing happens but I actually donβt think Iβll be coming back to this club again. This was at 7:29AM front lady greeted everyone with a bright face and a smile and said thank you. I was getting my membership popped up as I was walking right to the front fromt desk. I went to tap my membership via Apple Pay, following that I said thank you. No response/acknowledgement. I had a class anctually two today, this is my 2nd time ant this club earlier this year I had visited but only had stayed in the Barbell GTX space. Becayse of the bad interaction that just had I did not feel comfortable nor welcome to aso Im not sure if it was a man or woman she was pretty big and had a Karen haircut, but I did not ask her. So I ahad asled a couple club members where studio 1 was and none of them could give me a clear answer. I took a step in their shoes, and thought if I were to be working in a facility after so much time I would probably recognize/ memorize where things are. 1st time taking any class here and I actually couldnβt attend due to being sent to the wrong places after asking people. I hope someone that is trying to be encouraged to take action in the health aspect of their life doesnβt have an altercation like this it could really make or break. The first part I could see if I was a regular that I continuously see you everyday maybe a slight acknowledgement would be nice but again this is my 2nd time coming here and she took a look at my membership after I scanned it unlike the 4/7 people that were infront of me. Iβm never coming back tho and if you are a POC reading this donβt give ur money to this location visit if itβs convenient but please for the sake of your own integrity they are not deserving.

The parking lot is still congested but you can find parking now.
The classes are crowded and some instructors/coaches allow more in over the limit which further exacerbates the crowding.
The equipment in the classes are frequently sweat drenched requiring the next users and/or instructors/coaches to wipe them down.
The timing between back to back classes has improved. Most classes start on the hour and end 10 minutes before the hour.
The locker room experience has improved. It's cleaner and stocked regularly. There is one problem with the product dispensers. They are aging and gummed up which means that its difficult to pump shampoo etc.
Finally, the showers have been consistently hot for several months. We'll see how it goes during the winter months.
Now that everyone has "Signature" access to court time, it's difficult to get court time. So, corporate and/or local management have decided that they are going to institute a process to guarantee court time to "special" customers. It seems like it's like the Disney "skip the line" pass.
Edited to add:
Talking with WBL management is fruitless. Feedback on broadly viewed social media is the only recourse.

This is not the best location in the twin cities. Although I went during peak gym hours it seemed like there werenβt enough machines or racks. In the cardio area it smelled really bad(I promise it wasnβt me). I had to modify my workout because of these inconveniences. I expect a much better and cleaner experience than when I visited.

I live 47mi away and would like to come down but I see reports of the size of facilities being outgrown in active attendance membership. Is there any plans to expand a new facility northward toward Saint Croix Falls, WI while still serving the expanding metro area that would travel to White Bear otherwise?

Bahram, your vision of what lifetime fitness is meant to be for your members has been completely lost at the White Bear location. Your membership has outgrown the building with no space and parking.
Your team and staff are great, and itβs all about the need for a bigger facility.
Please get personally involved and find a bigger location for a new facility in this part of town.
Thank you

Overall great facility. Has a cafe, salon, kids center, indoor & outdoor pool, a gymnasium, tennis and pickle ball courts, and Pilates studio in addition to the usual cardio and weight lifting equipment. Newish addition of group fitness class area with many more squat racks.
It's typically kept clean, especially now that they have reopened after COVID. Kids center is great.
My biggest complaint is that there is occasionally too many people, but that hasn't been the case since newly reopening.

My wife and I were members of this location for a couple years and so itβs been clear to us how management has shifted. When we were first members the facility was clean and well taken care of. Membership rates were also about 20-25% cheaper. Now the tides have changed. This facility commonly has members that do not clean up after themselves nor rerack their weights. My wife would go in to this gym 4-5 days a week at open and would frequently spend most of her limited time reracking weights in order to even use machines. This is something that is totally unacceptable throughout the day let alone when youβre the first person in the gym.

After a long day at work I decided to come in and get a quick lift in and steam room before they closed was repeatedly harassed to leave by the guy closing while I was naked in the locker room getting my stuff ready to leave. He snapped his fingers and said its time to go! I agreed with him and said sounds good. He then stands there while I'm exposed in a towel and say NO NOW ! I then asked him if I can put some clothes on atleast? I realized the building is shutting down but how rude to demand me to leave naked. 0 professionalism I've worked in hospitality for 11 years and I've never felt more unwelcome and uncomfortable with a guy watching me get dressed. Will not be going to the white bear location anymore. Woodbury has never treated us like that before. That guy clearly doesn't like his job and shouldn't be treating paying members like that late or not late it is unacceptable. Potentially looking to switch gyms in general after that bad taste in my mouth I went home feeling violated.

Amaaazing from the perspective of mother, gym rat, and business owner! I took six years off regular time at the gym and didnβt know where to go anymore. My favorite spots closed down. Lifetime is a game changer!
My kids can have fun, they have a place to go, without babysitters or family to help go on dates (which is amazing) and today I found the cafe has something to eat. The amount of healthy meal prepped foods that you can just grab and eat was astounding. I am so impressed. Literally made my week.
Thank you for changing our lives. We can breathe, date, feel emotionally and physically balanced and find community.
Oh and donβt forget the classes. GTX is my new fave and Iβm not a runner!!!π₯Ήππ»ππ»ππ»

Recently moved in the area and started visiting this Lifetime as a previous regular at Woodbury Lifetime and then Plymouth Lifetime and I've gotta say, I was completely underwhelmed. I didn't get LifeTime vibes at all. Feels more like a community center or a low-tier YMCA. They should create a "Bronze" tier to categorize this location under.
I haven't had any encounters with staff yet so no comment on them but the facility itself is so tiny. You will find yourself waiting for machines very regularly. I am an early bird when it comes to lifting in order to avoid traffic as much as possible but won't be as effective here it seems. For example, there's only 3 flat bench press stations and 3/4 free weight benches...
The low ceiling and seemingly poor ventilation(feels hot and damp at times) is also a buzz kill to your workout. Will probably look for a cheaper place strictly for lifting because this one definitely isn't worth the price tag unless you're here for tennis or cardio.

My family and I where looking for a gym in the local area today. Stopped at this facility today and was turned away for a tour of the gym. It was a complete waste of my time to stop into this futility today.
Places that had no problem with showing me around there facilities today and would recommend over this facility.
Shoreview community center.
Roughly $90/monthly for a family
Forest Lake YMCA
Roughly $123/monthly for a family
Shoreview YMCA
Roughly $123/monthly for a family
Rookery (Lino Lakes)
Roughly 100/monthly for a family
All of these establishments assuming are half the price of Lifetime with exceptionally better customer service.

Fitness side was good; however, would not recommend swim lessons and the summer kidβs program - no water bottles allowed. We ended up pulling our kiddo out of the program a month early due to dehydration issues. Poor/inconsistent communication (parents of campers talk, info. is not consistent).
Swim Lessons: Not as good as FOSS. Our kiddos did not learn much during the couple months they were there. We ended up going back to FOSS where you can see drastic changes.
Bottom line, membership is not worth it.

I think for the size, this shouldn't be an Onyx membership.. Lifetime changed their pricing/structuring of their pricing, and it seems like this gym is more of a gold.. It's small, and can often be hard to find machines for working out. I always admired the friendly staff and how clean it was.. BUT I have since moved to the Woodbury location.. Much more to offer, and wayyy bigger.

I enjoyed my time going to this gym. If you were planning on going at peak times it can be difficult to find parking. I really enjoyed the variety of classes. The parking lot can be used to park in around the clock. There is loitering all over the parking lot! My car was broken into through the window. The whole thing ransacked! I will also mention that indoors people are just mischievously walking around, and clearly not there to work out, shower, or swim. Also, whatever happened to the Tennis Court because it looked either destroyed or under construction, however that adds to the chaotic like nature of the facility. I talked to a man earlier that day who had his wallet stollen after setting it down for a moment. People bring their stuff here and trust. The shifty trolls are in the majority. Best of Luck!!!
On the flip side if your side Gig is Sniping this is a perfect facility for the job and enjoy your Free Range tactical skills, because it's wide open. I just wish safety was Still First .. and people believed in the 10 commandments!

I came to the building to cancel my membership in person sometime back in early August, waited 20 minutes for a manager to come help me at the front desk because the two person there do not know how to cancel my membership. Didn't mind it. That manager looked up my information and said my membership is cancelled. I confirmed it with her that I won't be billed anymore and she said I would not be billed.
Today (1 month later & after I am going to a different gym), I was billed again. I called in to their billing office and was told that I still have an active membership, and that they could not reimburse me or do anything about it except to cancel my membership, because 'I did not have any record of coming in to cancel my membership'. Apparently to them I never came in to cancel my membership even though I was there in person and talked with 3 different employees. Such BS. My experience with other gyms with much lower prices gave me much better experience. Keep my money for this month, because that's the last that you guys will be seeing from my friends, family, and I.

This place is an inviting environment and so much more than just "a gym". They have great tasting food in the cafe and places to hangout and chat with friends. Although the parking lot may look busy, it tends to have space inside to without still due to many people playing tennis. Classes require a reservation, although you can show up and join in an empty spot as soon as the class starts.

We have been members for a month now, and it has been the best club we have ever been a part of. We have two young kids, a 5 and 7 year old, and they love going there. They have classes for the kids to go to as well for them to burn off some energy, and the trainers that work with them all seem awesome (so much better than any of the previous clubs like LA Fitness). Steam Room, Sauna, and Hot Tubs are also a great add to relax the body after a great workout. I do like how there is a Cafe, Spa service, Clinic, and a few other amenities that you wouldn't get at other clubs. However, you're definitely paying more for the extras and the cleanest club I have ever been at, but it's so worth it.

This was my first visit today after meeting and getting signed up with ease because of Sydney. Iβm highly impressed with the customer service from the very start, and quality of care that each staff member showed towards my individual needs. I was amazed at the current members expressing their joy of their health club experience during the walk through too! Todayβ¦ we decided to βmake a goal,β help my chronic conditions-by planning visits weekly.
Next pack a bagβ¦Meaning the worst nightmare For a lady During the βoff season,β and that had not planned on swimming for months! BUT I embraced the challenge and had a βswimming suit try on momentβ this morning. It was driven by just a possibility that I could have pain relief anywhere at the end of the experience. So it made me overcome the challenges to just get out of my home.
Thank god for the amazing locker room ladies that were coming and going! I couldnβt have made it without their help! (Because my βcare providerβ my hubby couldnβt be there in the ladies locker room to help me.) I was genuinely supported each time I encountered a challenge and without having to even ask anyone. You can tell how happy everyone from staff to customers felt and all are happy and fortunate to be with such great people at this location in Wblβ¦ Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

Iβve been going to lifetime fitness gyms for over 15 years. This location is the worst experience I have ever had. Typically LT has professional staff, clean facilities, and great customer service. This location has none of those things. Iβve provided feedback regarding the cleanliness and poor customer service to the manager (Arica) on multiple occasions. Nothing ever changes. The same shampoo smear has been in the shower for over 3 months now. I reported it to management and they had someone spray it down with a hose. Itβs still there. If that is what they call βcleaningβ Iβm afraid to touch anything here. With the spike in Covid cases you would think they would actually clean and disinfect. They charge $127/month which clearly does not go back into fixing up and maintaining this facility. The last interaction I had with the greeter was very poor and she had a terrible attitude. If you donβt want to work here then donβt. People are counting on this place for mental health and stability. My stress relief is going to the gym in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Itβs hard to stay positive about that when the facility is in this condition. Overall very disappointed in the poor customer experience I have received.

I have been with lifetime since 2014 and am sadly canceling my membership due to the lack of classes the White Bear location offers. I have bounced between a few locations and have come to realize the WBL does not live up to the Onyx level membership. For the last 2 years I have contacted corporate, spoken with the studio manager and also escalated my grievances with the GM, Marco. I was informed that they will not be able to add more classes because there isnβt enough space or βability.β I explained that other onyx gyms for example have upwards of 10-17 warrior sculpt classes a week and WBL has 5, the response I was given was thatβs just how itβs going to be, sorry. I brought up that my member ship price should reflect what the gym offers and I was told that member ship dues are based on the facility size and parking lot. So Fridley a gold level location ($60) a month can offer that rate because they have a larger parking lot (WHAT!!) and also offers more classes... The hours of the gym are absolutely ridiculous as other gyms such as Fridley are open 24 hours. As a mom who needs to go to the gym before my child wakes up on a Saturday, I donβt really care about summer hours and have the expectation level that the gym should be open earlier. Their peak class times are 9-11 and 4-6. Which is IMPOSSIBLE for people who work down town. Overall I am extremely disappointed with this location and believe that if you are retired or a stay at home mom or someone with an extremely flexible schedule this gym is for you.

We love it here! People are friendly and there is everything you could want in a gym. Canβt wait for summer again so we can live by the pool!

I'm obsessed with this gym. Seriously.
I joined quickly after buying a house in WBL, and let me tell you, this is the first gym that I'm actually excited to go to. Granted, I'm used to living in NYC and Seattle, where gyms are outrageously expensive and you don't get many "extras," but what Life Time offers still blows me away. Literally any class you could possibly want - spin (my personal favorite!), yoga, pilates, strength training, barre, and more - plus both indoor AND outdoor pools, tennis courts, and basketball courts. This place seriously has it ALL.
And the cherry on top is how friendly the staff is, and how knowledgeable the trainers. I love this place!

I have been to several Lifetimeβs and this is my favorite. I love the size, itβs large enough to have everything my family and I want, but small enough so that we donβt feel lost. I love being able to see people I know every time Iβm here because there is such a strong community!

Iβve gone to many of the different Life Time locations and White Bear is one of my favorites. Even though the club is small, it has great amenities and a much more intimate feel than some of the big clubs. Even when itβs at its busiest Iβve never been stuck waiting to use equipment.
The front desk staff arenβt as friendly with their βhellosβ and βgoodbyesβ as they are at other clubs, but the rest of the staff are extremely friendly with their customer interactions.

Jacuzzi fits two people and you have to walk out of locker room and past desk to get to. Plus itβs always closed for maintenance. They need to put a sauna and bigger jacuzzi by the pool, this is supposed to be a onyx gym! Showers areas are small like the size of old phone booth.

I would give zero stars if it was an option. My husband and I joined Lifetime fitness in hope of it being a step up from other gyms just to be brutally disappointed. We went a total of 2 times before canceling. Our sales rep Zach assured us that we would be refunded knowing that we had prior accounts several years ago. My husband received a call yesterday 3/12/18 saying we will not be refunded. To me this is unacceptable if we were told one thing even if it is wrong by the associate please do right and honor your wrong. I spoke with Angel she said she could give a credit on next month's bill if we wanted to give them another chance or just terminate our membership. Which should have been done on 3/7/2018. I said we dont want to give a second chance because our needs at the gym could not be met, we love to play basketball and the two times we went they had a bounce house on one side of the bball court and the other side kids were playing floor hockey. The second time it was reserved for children to be tought to play. The guy teaching was doing nothing but talking to another guy. Angel told me i had to call customer relations which was a nightmare Samantha told me she cant do anything for me and hung up on me before I was done talking. I called customer relations back spoke to Hillary who told me i have to call the facility and talk to the sales manager. Which led me to Becca who said cant do anything for me. I will never tell people to join lifetime fitness in whitebear lake. Please believe i will be reporting this to the BBB. And thanks for the worst experience at your facility.

For size, amenities and hours it is ridiculously priced. Gold clubs such as Woodbury or Moore lake are so much nicer. Lastly other reviewers are correct, there are some snobby workers there.

I've only been a member for about 8 months and have been very happy with my decision to switch to lifetime. It can get a tad crowded, but what gym doesn't during the busy hours? They always keep the locker room stocked with everything you need. The entire staff is super friendly and neither Becca or Zack pressured me to join when I toured the facility like most gyms do. Highly recommend this gym.

We use our membership mostly for cardio workouts, swimming, and tennis. The membership cost is expensive, but the club is clean and it has great features. All of the tennis professionals are outstanding and I cannot speak highly enough of them. The child care center is really great and will watch the kids while you work out. We have belonged there for several years now and are very happy.

An Expensive Gym but has most of the facilities. The one-on-one with Trainers and Spa is worth the money. Unfortunately for me, no racquet ball courts :(

Very irritating experience when I came in asking for a tour. I called first to make sure there was someone there who could specifically give me a tour. When I came in, I was whisked away to an ugly sales office to waste my time discussing how superior this gym is to others in the area...not telling me anything about why I would care. I mentioned that we have family with memberships at this gym, and that's what brought me in, but for some reason it turned into a pre-qualification situation anyway. I had to answer qustions about my husband's job, our history, insurance, etc. before I even got to see the facility. She then let me know the absolute highest rate I would pay instead of the current enrollment special (ignoring twice my requests to tour the facility). When she explained our initial costs would be over $600 for a family of three, she made a comment that the price keeps the club exclusive. I had to hold back the laughter at that point. It's not a country club!! She seemed incovenienced when I asked her to write numbers down for me. On the third request to tour the building, she made an awkward comment about my toddler being asleep (in a small stroller). It would have been nice if she had offered the elevator instead, but at five months pregnant I carried my toddler for the whole tour, adding to my frustration. I noticed the elevator on my way out. During the tour she explained most things require a hefty upcharge in addition to the membership dues of over $200 per month. Pilates, certain yoga classes, swim classes, tennis access, etc are all at minimum, an extra $25 per month, per activity, per person. For reference, my husband has a membership for only $24 per month at their main competititor. Also, there are two all inclusive community centers within 7 miles of this gym that are under $120 per month for a family membership. The only advantage that I could see for this one would be the women's locker rooms were a tad nicer, but just a tad. The White Bear ymca is actually nicer as a facility overall, far more accommodating to families, (and way less stuck up). Honestly, what a joke! A new sales manager might be a good idea for this business.

I've been a member for many years and enjoy the location. However, there's a consistency of facility issues that are annoying.
Such as the steam room - lights go out and are not replaced for days; inconsistent use of eucalyptus, towels left on benches...it's been down several times over the past couple of years.
Equipment wipes are empty too often.
Basketballs are way overdue for replacement...all of them!
Contrary to some of the reviews found here, I think the staff is pretty friendly.
Lastly, I bought a Kind bar recently - the markup is obscene!
Overall, It's pricey but convenient.

Unfortunately some of the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. Membership coordinator "Becca" does not do a very good job at making people feel welcome to the club, or informed.

My friends and I got are membership on Wednesday 03/02/16 paid the starting fee and everything. Today Friday 03/04/16 I go in with my friends super excited.. when we get there the lady very rudely tells us we are not members she does not even look at her screen twice! we tell her how if we signed up and everything? and she just kept saying no to us not even letting us finish our sentences! And she even said "as long as she's there we can't get through" point blank she was way out of line for all that were paying getting treated like this haha i'll pass but anyways I'll be going in on Monday to speak to you're manager Kim :)

It's a nice club or it was at one time all the weight machines need to be updated or fixed there's a lot of sleep and all of them. My wife always has an issue in the women's bathroom Weatherby the steam room not working or being out of razors. Still a lot of people don't go here so its always easy to get on a treadmill

I had been going to this gym since it was the old white bear swim, and really like the Life time fitness feel, but i ended my membership in July of 2015, and go look at my cc statement from sept and I see that they are still charging me. . This along with staff that act like snobs and dont say even a simple Hi is the reason why i'll never go to this lifetime again. . I have had a way better time at the woodbury or grand ave locations.

My husband and I have read reviews about Lifetime having great amenities and classes but having awful customer service, and that has 100% been our experience. We're both tennis players, and I'm a triathlete who is allergic to chlorine, so I have to swim in salt water pools. Unfortunately, the Lifetime in White Bear Lake or St Louis Park are basically my only options, so we're members of an extremely overpriced gym for that reason. While the tennis community is great and has pretty much a similar cost to other tennis clubs, customer service has consistently been atrocious. For example, when we were deciding whether to purchase LT bucks when we first joined, we specifically asked if we could use them for tennis at other facilities. The Lifetime agent got back to us and said that he checked into it and that we could, but we actually found out after buying the LT bucks that we couldn't use them at clubs other than our "home club," even though we're Onyx members. Moreover, the staff doesn't even know how to associate our LT bucks with court reservations. Even worse, when I called White Bear Lake today to ensure there wasn't anything happening in their pool this morning so that I would be able to do my pool workout, the customer service representative said she would check and that there was definitely nothing happening in the pool all day. So I drove 25 minutes to the gym, and lo and behold, the entire pool is reserved for classes until 10:00 a.m. Because of the waste of my time, and the fact that I didn't have time to then drive all the way out to St Louis Park to try to swim there, I had to forego my workout today. When I politely informed the customer service rep of this and that I couldn't workout today, she just apologized and said that maybe it was a meet that wasn't on their schedule. When I told her that it was swimming lessons, she said she didn't know why it wasn't on their schedule then. Additionally, none of the customer service reps seem to know if their pool is actually salt water or not, or how many meters/yards the pool is. This is basic information that front desk staff should know. Finally, about 2 months after we joined our "home club," the person who sold us our membership called me and asked if I wanted to join the club. I explained that we sat down and signed the paperwork in his office and had been members for 2 months already. He clearly didn't remember us or check his records at all before calling. I don't know if it is a poor training program for the staff, but it truly is horrible customer service. That said, the amenities are fantastic. Everything is really clean, the classes are exceptional (especially the spin classes we attend early weekday mornings at Highland Park), and the locker rooms are really nice. Is it worth the insane amount of money we pay every month ($180)? Uh, no. Definitely not. We'll be shopping around, and I'll have to consider whether swimming off-season is worth the money we currently pay.

The facility is clean, modern, and brimming with 1st class amenities.
Indoor & outdoor pool, indoor & outdoor tennis, beautiful studios, pilates, and the typical cardio and resistant training equipment.
The locker rooms are state-of-the art, offering a steam room, sauna, shaving cream, mouth wash, lotion, hair spray, deoderant.
Life cafe has a full menu, including beer and wine.
The staff will bend over backwards to accomodate you.
Highly recommended!
