Staff at the front are very friendly and attentive. However the gym facilities themselves are viciously mediocre at best. Weight equipment is dirty, old, and sometimes not even functional. Locker rooms are also filthy with toenails, hair, and other bodily things on the floor. Management only seems motivated to raise prices without improving the membership experience. This gym is only around because it is the only gym in Woodbury.

The worst hours ever! They close so early… Half of the people lifting there don’t actually care about getting a workout in and the old men have no fear literally walking up to you and harassing you.
Kids club hours suck
Overpriced
The weight area smells
The stair climber machines don’t have fans
No fun events for kids 10 and up.

Stopped in with my brother in law as we were looking for a place to play some basketball. Neither of us are members but were inquiring about a day pass or if there happened to be some sort of trial. As we were sitting in the lobby deciding if we wanted to pay for the day pass since there was no trial the lady at the desk very rudely said “there’s no basketball court here” now I don’t know if that is true or not since I haven’t been in the facility however on the website it says there is a basketball court there and even some classes/leagues for basketball. The tone from the lady was very off putting and made it seem like we were not welcome there. Apparently we didn’t fit the “type” of people that go to this lifetime fitness. Very disappointed in this brief interaction with lifetime fitness

Used to be a great gym back when it was 24-hours. They switched to closing at 11PM and it became very overcrowded to the point that a group class had been held three feet away from my barbell on the bench press station I was on so I cancelled my membership at $90/mo. People were basically forced to workout on top of one another.
Recently looked back at re-enrolling because I missed the place and it’s up to $179/mo. for new members. Way overpriced for what the location has to offer. I’m not using the pool, classes, sauna or anything else. Just lifting and cardio. Maybe it’s a good idea to offer a multi-tier membership option for those who want to experience a clean and open gym but not have to pay for all of the extras that they will never use. Lifetime seems to have gone way over the top in terms of quality to cost ratio.

The whole gym is amazing staff included. My schedule changed for work the past month and half. And I’ve come at night, and I find it extremely Rude and disrespectful some staff is almost screaming at the costumers about closing, we hear the intercom. We know! But coming in the showers screaming about 5 minutes, and or were closed you have to leave now. I’m human I can only move as fast as my body will allow me to. Especially, if I’m coming in to relax after a 14hr shift at work. It’s almost Forcing costumers out showers naked, and while they are trying to get dressed after a shower: no matter how many times you basically scream we are human, and can only move as fast as our bodies allow us to. This gym cost a very Good Penny a month and I don’t think any staff member should be in there telling anyone it’s time to go. Get out of our gym! It’s actually not ok! The staring people down, and telling people got to get out, mind you they are either naked or getting out the showers. I get it it’s 8:55pm or 9:00pm but it’s not ok to be like that with customers while they are naked in showers, or naked putting on loction, or naked while putting on clothes. And I would understand if it was like 9:30pm but to be talking like that at 8:55pm or even 9:00pm is rude and disrespectful. In the men’s, or women’s lockers rooms. It’s not ok! It would be a 5 out 5 star for me. But because I seen this with my own eyes since my Schedule changed to late nights. I’ve seen this and heard this. And it makes me feel uncomfortable for the men and women rushing to gather their things up, and leave fast out the door because staff is is pretty much yelling at them, or giving them uncomfortable stares while they are trying to gather their thoughts to get their things together and get out the door in a timely manner. I don’t think staff should even be there if that’s what they are going to do while it’s closing time. I felt very uncomfortable for a man, and three women! A few nights ago….

My husband and I went there to tour the gym before we make a decision to sign up for a membership or not. I asked for a guided tour of the gym and I was taken back when they asked me for my id and sign some kind of agreement. I’ve never been asked for an id and sign an agreement for a simple guided tour! I wonder if we looked like an outcast? It was weird. The person who guided us was really nice and friendly, we chatted as we walk into each room, areas, and so on. I was impressed with what they have to offer. It’s like a country club! They have a chiropractor and a massage on-site. There’s even a small cafe by the entrance! The cost for two is $260, which is outrageously expensive for a gym.

Not a fan of any Lifetime TBH any gym that closes at 9 PM Friday through Sundays should be written off in my opinion not to mention paying $200 a month for crappy dirty equipment and the lifting area smells like Rotten eggs!
Kids club hours are very minimal and yes $200 a month but my son and I can never use the gym separate basketball court or any of those rooms that are never open. The café guy is rude as hell. All in all, definitely not worth it and definitely not luxury

If you’re looking to play pickleball, avoid joining this club. The environment feels elitist, and the open play sign-up process is poorly managed, reminiscent of the hassle of college class registration. Expect a lot of unnecessary drama and a self-centered crowd. For open play, the waitlist fills up for every session offered after 7 AM, and only 18 people are allowed per session. Plus, no one allows substitutions once a spot is taken. Signature members—who pay around $200 a month—get a 24-hour early reservation window, but even that doesn’t guarantee a spot. Unless these issues have been addressed, look elsewhere for a more enjoyable pickleball experience.

I recently visited the Lifetime Fitness in Woodbury, MN, expecting luxury and exclusivity. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. Despite the convenient location and spacious facilities, it was overcrowded and the amenities were outdated. For the high cost, having such old facilities isn’t worth it. The gym definitely needs a refresh to match its luxurious image.

I was very excited about trying my first class at this gym with a friend. Based off of my experience at the class, I was planning on getting my own membership at this gym. Upon arrival I was asked for my ID at check in. I wasn’t aware that I needed to bring it as I wasn’t asked for it before. I apologetically stated I didn’t have it on me. The woman checking me in who’s name is Deni proceeded to ask the gentleman that was working alongside her “should we call the police on her?!. All of this because I didn’t have my ID. To be clear, I am a young Hispanic woman. I’m almost positive she would not have made that remark if I was a white woman. Never in my life have I written a negative review on an establishment, but I am so taken back by this experience and have never felt so belittled! Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend anyone come to this gym, especially if you’re someone of color.

I recently booked a prenatal massage here at the spa. Upon arrival, the therapist seemed flustered when I mentioned I was 20 weeks pregnant and wanting a RELAXING massage.
During the massage she asked me if I wanted regular oil or cbd and both are safe for pregnancy. I said sure cbd is fine. She NEVER mentioned that it was a $25 upgrade. I felt like this was very deceptive.
During the 60 minute massage 25-30 minutes was stretching my arms and legs. If I am paying over $100, I want a massage not stretching. I can go to stretch lab or PT for that.
Also, during the massage she was applying very deep pressure to the point I now have 2 bruises on my legs.

I reached out to the Woodbury lifetime with my feedback and asked for a call back. I reached out to the general manager, and I reached out to Tanya, the membership concierge manager. It has been over a week and I still have not heard back.

As a long-time client of Lifetime, I've hesitated to write this review, but I feel compelled to share my concerns. Initially, the gym operated 24 hours, but due to staffing issues, the hours changed multiple times, a situation I understood. However, my dissatisfaction grew when the prices soared, considering this gym doesn't match up to luxury standards. To make matters worse, the removal of the basketball court, done without any notification, was the final disappointment.

The constant changes in operating hours were a inconvenience, but the spike in prices felt unjustified. The absence of communication about the removal of the basketball court was a significant letdown.

While the initial price was manageable, the removal of the basketball court was the tipping point. It's disheartening to see a once-favorite gym decline in quality and customer consideration. I will say, employees are friendly and locker rooms are always clean!

As a first time guest who brought my 2 special needs aunts who have memberships at this location was treated absolutely rudely by Tanya the front desk lead. From the start she assumed I’ve been here before which I haven’t because I live in another state. She rolled her eyes at me and assumed I was lying. She dismissed us and told us to stand to the side. As she helps others who came after us. To continue with the check in she spoke rudely and placed her hand in our face when I told her how unprofessional she was treating us and threatened to kick us out. For someone who works with customers needs a better training in customer service ediuqutte. Moving forward my entire family that attends this location will no longer attend if Tanya continues to treat us rudely.

I've been a regular at this gym since 2021, and I've never had any issues with the staff. They've always been polite and helpful to me. However, one day I received a call informing me that my membership had been terminated because I had been staying late with a group of friends. This was simply not true because I always trained solo and don't socialize much at the gym. I have always respected the staff and made sure to leave before closing time. In fact, there were always people in the gym after me, which leads me to believe that this was a set-up. It's clear that the gym is systematically removing certain demographics, and unfortunately, I believe that I was targeted based on my name. I challenge anyone to find any evidence that I have done anything wrong. While I understand that the gym is a business and has the right to terminate memberships, they cannot do so based on someone's identity.

I would leave 0 stars if I could. Taking out the basketball court and replacing it with a PICKLE BALL court, raising membership rates, and soon taking away free play in the child center for kids resulting in only instructor lead classes are ALL examples of how Lifetime really feels. They only care about their rich, white and neurotypical members. My son who has Autism can no longer attend the child center as he cannot participate in classes. All of these are reasons to cancel my membership as well as yours.

My recent experiences at Lifetime Woodbury gym have been less than satisfactory, primarily due to recent changes that have left me questioning the gym's commitment to its members.

The removal of the basketball courts and their replacement with pickleball facilities was a surprising and unwelcome decision. It feels like the gym is catering to a specific group, neglecting the interests of longtime basketball players like myself.

Moreover, the consistent monthly price hikes without clear explanations are frustrating and make it hard to justify the increasing costs.

A final blow came with the alteration of open gym hours on the weekends, disrupting our long-standing tradition of playing basketball on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. It seems like the gym is prioritizing other events over the preferences of its loyal members.

In summary, these changes, combined with a lack of transparency and consideration for the diverse community of members, have diminished my satisfaction with Lifetime Woodbury gym. I hope the management reconsiders these decisions to create a more inclusive and member-friendly environment. Until then, I find it challenging to recommend this gym to others.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Lifetime Woodbury in Minnesota, prompting me to leave this one-star review. First and foremost, the management made a unilateral decision to convert the basketball court into a pickleball court without any prior notification to the customers. As someone who enjoyed playing basketball, this sudden change was both frustrating and inconvenient.

Moreover, my experience at Lifetime Woodbury raised concerns about the management's practices. I couldn't help but notice what seemed to be discriminatory behavior, as some members were treated differently based on their race. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable and goes against the principles of inclusivity and fairness that should be upheld by any reputable establishment.

Additionally, I observed a disturbing trend in the membership fees. The prices kept increasing every month without any apparent reason or explanation. This lack of transparency is not only frustrating but also raises questions about the integrity and honesty of the management.

Attempting to cancel my membership was met with another frustrating obstacle. According to their policy, members are forced to pay for an extra 30 days even after requesting cancellation. This policy is not only inconvenient but also feels like a deliberate attempt to extract more money from departing members. It's disheartening to encounter such inflexible and seemingly unfair practices when trying to discontinue a service.

The lack of empathy and understanding regarding the financial implications of this policy only adds to the overall negative experience. It's disappointing to see a fitness center prioritize their bottom line over the satisfaction and well-being of their members.

Overall, my time at Lifetime Woodbury was marred by these issues, making it a regrettable choice for anyone seeking a positive and fair fitness environment. I caution potential members to carefully consider these factors before committing to a membership at this establishment. There are undoubtedly better options available that prioritize customer satisfaction and fair business practices.

★ 1

As a Lifetime Member since 2019, my affiliation with this establishment was initially positive. However, recent developments have compelled me to reassess my commitment. There appears to be a discernible bias within the management, particularly directed towards members with an interest in basketball.

The issues commenced with arbitrary closures of the basketball court well before the facility's scheduled closing hours. This was followed by subtle yet impactful microaggressions, such as abruptly turning off lights during play and, on one occasion, commencing floor mopping while members were still present within the designated operating hours (the lead custodian is a blatantly racist maniacal old man). Not to mention, given that we typically played basketball with friends in the evening, the management began restricting usage of guest passes after 2PM. 2PM!! The culmination of these grievances is the recent transformation of the basketball court into a pickleball court, a move that seems targeted at a specific demographic, most likely influenced by racial or socioeconomic considerations.

Adding to these concerns is the consistent upward trajectory of membership fees. While the premium price was initially justified by the convenience of 24/7 access, the COVID pandemic has been cited as a persistent excuse for the past three years. Consequently, the facility remains inadequately staffed during regular hours of operation, leaving members to contend with diminished services despite escalating costs.

Regrettably, this compels me to discontinue my association with this establishment. The confluence of biased management practices, the conversion of facilities, and the escalating costs leaves me with no choice but to seek alternatives elsewhere. I certainly won't be returning; Clearly they aim to serve a select demographic here and they've gotten one step closer.

Lifetime no longer poses a reasonable value proposition. Their cooperate teams our of touch with reality.

Lifetimes Woodbury location was formally a staple. Now it's missing many key components at a price that's overvalued. The Woodbury clubs staff are exceptional, but corporate Lifetime is ruining the brand and reputation. Hudson, Maplewood, Oakdale and other cities have better gyms worth the extra travel. Regardless of shape, no one should experience this. It never happened in other gyms we go to, just this one. Is this because of their location or their poor management?

I love swimming while my husband likes working out in a gym so we decided to join Lifetime fitness. It costs us around $100/person monthly.

I like everything about here. The changing rooms are very well equipped. Other facilities are good too. The only thing i do not like is the locker. In my country everyone has the own locker so you can keep your shoes, clothes and other stuffs in there, so when you come directly from your workplace to the gym without having to bring all the stuffs with you to go work in the morning and carry them to the gym after that.

At first, i thought that what the lockers for other than from other reasons so i kept my shampoo, hair condition and body wash in there (they provide all of these in the bathroom but i am very particular about skin care stuffs so i brought my own) and they had all gone on the next day. I had to ask the staff to get then back.

However, it is not a big deal, maybe it is how America is, so just need to get use to it and bring all stuffs everyday with me. I still rate 5 stars because im happy so far.

Would be nice if they had another "good" leg extension, hamstring curl and bicep curl machine. Waiting to use these half the time. Management doesn't really do anything when issues are pointed out, like a tripping hazard with a carpet rolling up and people tripping over it will stay that way for months. Not sure why they move heavy machines into precarious places periodically. It's a bit irritating. Prices are going up again. They recently installed new flooring in November 2022, but the arrangement of the upper floor machine's is not optimal. I've heard a few people complain about it. February 2023 update. They got some new equipment and fixed the arrangement a bit.

Me and my husband are members since February and we had no complaints up to this point. Tonight we had to go in to take a video of the equipment for my personal trainer and we obviously rather do it late at night when is less crowded to make sure we wouldn’t get anybody else on video. Tanya Danner welcomed us being extremely rude, saying that they were closed and then locking herself and us out of the gym. We had to wait for somebody to walk out, she kept repeating that we had to leave by 11(we still had plenty of time to get in, take the video and leave) and to complete her little show as we’re walking in she said she was going to tell the manager about that???? What a joke.

Update: the employee closing the gym that day wasn't Tanya she just handed us Tanya's business card when I asked her name on our way out leading us to believe she was her. After contacting the general manager she was very helpful in addressing the problem.

I enjoy this facility but twice this month the mens steam room has been closed for repairs. Twice I was in the mens locker got undressed and ready to steam, walked to the far back only to then find out it’s closed for repair. Suggestion; How about placing some signage at the front desk announcing this temporary inconvenience ???
Thank you,
David Carson

We used swimming pool all around the year. During winter this was best place where my daughter and me used go for swimming here. My daughter enjoyed swimming here.

Family change room was small and there used to be queue some time. Needs little bigger space for this.

Cost was bit higher side if you are using only for swimming pool and not gym.

Gym used to full and not used at all.

I'm a current member, the gym is good, when it's not crowded. And it is very very crowded from 3pm until 8pm. It's hard to find an open bench or power rack at those times. They could double the size of the free weights area and it'd still be too busy. But, 4 stars because they have quality equipment, weights/benches/power racks are in good shape.

Edit: hours have gotten better. They did expand hours later/earlier now, so you can workout pretty late most days, until 11pm. Super useful.

EDIT: missing barbell clips issue seems to be fixed, too.

Just moved in town from tx. Woodbury lifetime fitness has Great weight set up and machines, mirrors are a-little dirty compared to what I’m used to and dumbbell area seems cramped on a busy day. Overall a good place to train.

Very rude employees almost like they have no customer service skills and no value to customers paying premium prices. Especially the front desk people they have a high turnover rate mostly blame management. The old man that cleans the mens lock room is the worst idc if he’s been working there for 15+ years I see how friendly they are to other members not tolerating there bs anymore.

First time joining a Life Time fitness, and my first week has been a great experience at the Woodbury location. We had a membership at a different gym, but wanted more out of our gym experience than just a set of cardio equipment and exercising machines. It is amazing how much Life Time fitness has to offer with your membership, both in-club and online.

The child care center is more than just a "babysitting" center while you work out. There is more than just a single staff member, unlike at the other gyms, and they actually encourage and set-up games for the kids to play, interact with one another, and burn off some energy. They also have special game sessions for kids throughout the week you can sign them up for, along with a few swimming lessons included with the membership.

It was my first time ever using a steam room and it was amazing. They also have multiple hot tubs, a pool, and a sauna. Lets not mention all of the in-club classes and online programs you can join. I signed up for the 30x30 program just to get a jump start on getting back into the habit of consistent daily workouts.

It's definitely more expensive than most of the gym memberships around, but they are not kidding when they say it's a resort and not a typical gym.

Love this club location. Alpha programming is very good with fun and close knit culture. After testing several functional fitness and CrossFit gyms the Alpha/GTX program at lifetime in Woodbury is a great program. Many coaches, lots of class options, natural progressions built into programming and tracking apps to see progress. Workouts scaled to the participants skill level. HRV integrated with programming as well. Some coaches are nutrition and USAW certified too. Also have good childcare and shower facilities.
