Los Campeones are the last of locally owned gyms in the Minneapolis St. Paul area. Being a staple of fitness and health for over thirty years, our Minneapolis gym(s) have a ton of history and are rich in character. Members always get a great workout in, but at Los Campeones, they are part of our community as well.

With how much money they make. You would think they make a bigger parking spot. Gym equipment at this location is old and rusty and no parking.

Great gym equipment generally speaking, have been a member in the past went there recently to ask about passes and joining. Left my information with the front desk staff. No call or email. Very unprofessional.

Iβve slowly realized Blaisdell is just a means to generate money so they can open up newer better locations with better equipment. The price monthly continues to go up but thereβs hardly any increase to equipment unless itβs handed down by another gym. Brooklyn Center or Burnsville are worth the money because at least they have new equipment but Blaisdell by no means is. I used to go there religiously, but after cancelling only think BC, Burnsville, EP, or Franklin (solely cause of their amazing basement setup) are worth it. It pained me to say that because I used to love Blais but Iβm not the only one who thinks that and unless anything changes certainly wonβt be the last.

Good variety of equipment - I needed to get in some strongman training in addition to regular barbell work, and there was a small selection: axle bar, log, tire, viking press, yoke, some heavy sandbags. Friendly and helpful staff, and the gymgoers on a weekday afternoon seemed pretty chill (not too bro-y, didn't see any broccoli heads). It's not the cleanest but also not the dirtiest -- pretty comparable to powerlifting/strongman style gyms (vs say, Crunch). Basement area is a tad musty.

This gym has it allβall the equipment anyone could want, and great members and staff that encourage you to be your best. No matter your goals, you have the best chance of achieving them at Los. It's truly a community gym and you will be glad you gave it a shot if you do.

My favorite gym that Iβve ever been to. I will miss living in this area for the sake of this gym only. Lots of weights, lots of racks, lots of different grips for cable rows/pulldowns, plenty of space, and great machines.

Made me sign a contract without my consent. Dont watse your money on low ethics poor managed businesses.
Request clarification:
I joined Los Campeones Gym in July 2024 paying for a full year, but my experience has been disappointing. After finding a new gym, I attempted to cancel my membership. Despite visiting in person twice and calling five times, I was told I signed a contract I was unaware of and had only three days to cancel.
I emailed with the owner about this several times. Had nothing resolved. I am more than happy to post screenshots of this email exchange.

$65 a month is a lot for a grubby-looking weight room and shitty parking.
Workers at this and all locations are really great, though. And I know Los has a rep for being a meatheadβs gym, but Iβve found the environment to be pretty cool and supportive, seemingly for both men and women.

Pros:
Lots of great equipment. Friendly, no-pretenses vibe. Reasonable fees. Good location.
Cons:
Feels unclean. Invest a few buck and replace torn/nonexistent pads on some of the benches. Also please get full sets of handled/non-handled resistance bands for each of the weightlifting areas.

I am writing to share a deeply troubling experience I recently had at Blaisdell Los Campeones gym in Minneapolis.
On 11/02/2024, I was racially profiled by the owner of the gym. This incident has left me feeling hurt, disrespected, and unwelcome in a space that should be inclusive and supportive for everyone.

WATCH OUT! Deceptive Business Practices
I joined Los Campeones Gym in July, paying for a full year, but my experience has been disappointing. After finding a new gym, I attempted to cancel my membership. Despite visiting in person twice and calling five times, I was told I signed a contract I was unaware of and had only three days to cancel.
This lack of transparency and poor communication left me feeling taken advantage of. I cannot recommend Los Campeones Gym based on my experience, as it's crucial for potential members to fully understand their rights before signing anything.

Expensive day passesπ’ Uberβd here to do my ACL rehab exercises which take like 30 min max and require 2 machines, but sorry, $30 a day was an overkill. And, sadly, there was no flexibility around pricing
Seemed like an ok space though. It was pretty empty when I was there

Unfortunately I am updating my review after a lot of billing discrepancies, always gave this place 5 stars before. They increased going to multiple locations to about $70-75 which is just disappointing, my main disappointment though comes with the fact that you will get completely different answers to questions depending on which location you call. The equipment is great and very well maintained, they will caution off equipment with issues and fix it very quickly. Unfortunately this gym has too big of a name and crowd to not be busy which might be subjective but I have been a member for a long time and reminisce on the times of having a workout and being the only person in the gym, canβt really fault
them for this though.

Pros:
Lots of equipment- you can do literally anything here
Reasonably priced- at $55-$60 a month with no contracts.
Friendly/helpful staff
Cons:
Loud - sometimes the music is so loud you can't hear your own headphones.
Dirty- I rarely see anyone cleaning equipment and a lot of times people don't rack their weights or put their stuff away. Gets cramped with tripping hazards.
Limited Parking- lot is small and it's close to the encampment, so walking after dark feels a little sketchy.
Poor layout- a lot of little things that add up. Could maybe benefit from a reorganization of the layout. Ex: Tvs are mounted so high you can't watch them when you're on the treadmill. HIIT area is downstairs but the ceilings are so low you can't actually jump rope unless you're really short. Squat rack is so close to the back stairwell you sometimes have to wait for ppl to finish a set to go downstairs. It's just kind of awkward.
Overall ok, but it wouldn't be my top pick if it weren't in such a good location for me.

Staff are solid and there is a nice array of equipment, but this place clearly isnβt cleaned regularly and unless you have over ear sound cancelling headphones you will not be able to hear your own music as the in house speakers are bumping at full volume. Parking sucks too, 6 or 7 spots total, not including improvised parking. Equipment is good quality, but beat to hell. Definitely have to wash your hands after leaving as there is grime on alot. 60 a month is an okay deal but theres a lot you have to compromise for, not sure if Iβll stay for another month.

This place is ok, but it's pretty cramped, and there aren't enough stations to accommodate the volume gym-goingers at most times. The parking lot is tiny and the equipment's pretty old. They charge more than the JCC in Saint Paul does, which is nuts considering the J has much newer equipment and provides access to a lap pool. Also driving and parking around this area suck in general.

I came here one time with some friends and benched 225 on their fat pad. Iβm telling you fat pads go crazy. Thereβs also this dude there named Milo, who is one of the most goated hard workers at the place. He gave us a nice tour. They had very nice apparel and I would recommend to a friend.

I like the atmosphere, but you can see a lot of grime on their treadmills and a lot of equipment padding is falling apart. For a $60/mo gym, I feel like I should be able to expect the equipment to be in better shape. I asked the employee and he said that Management doesn't communicate with employees about these things

Fantastic powerlifting-focused gym. Lots of variation in experience here, with newcomers and frequents alike. Tons of equipment, about 8 power racks, many places to do deadlifts or other compound exercises. Great selection of machines too. The gymgoers I've met are all very friendly and willing to help out if you need a spotter as well. Everyone here does a pretty good job at cleaning up after themselves, and reracking their weights. The staff I've met have been helpful and courteous. Parking isn't too bad as even if the lot is full there's usually street parking nearby. Seriously a fantastic gym.

I've been a member for less than a month, but I've loved my experience here. The staff and gym members are great, kind, and willing to help you with your fitness journey every step of the way. Los Campeones is an excellent gym for anyone who trains for sports, powerlifting, bodybuilding, crossfit, and general fitness. The atmosphere motivates and encourages you as well as the staff. It's a judgment free place so feel free to dip your hands in chalk and grunt to get that extra rep.The equipment is great which includes Powerbars, Bumper Plates, lots of squat racks, machines, and sports performance equipment like prowlers, sleds and tires.
The price is good and you don't have to sign any one year contract deals! Both facility's also include a convenient supplement store for you! Los Campeones(Spanish for The Champions)will not disappoint.

Parking: Small parking lot on site, it was full when I arrived. Unfamiliar with the area took a few strolls around the block and found some street parking close by. Little parking is expected for the area.
Walk in: First thoughts were the overwhelming smell of body odor. I get itβs a gym and people are there to workout, but it smelled like not a single person was wearing deodorant.
I just came in to try the gym. They do not offer day or week trial passes. It was $16 for a day pass and around $25 for a week pass, which I thought was slightly high for the location and compared to the overall cost of a membership.
Equipment: This is the smallest location from was I was told, and they have a decent selection of equipment inside. Small room off to the side which is more powerlifting oriented with squat racks and deadlift platforms. Basement I just glanced at and was turfed and had squat racks.
Some of the standard hammer strength plate loaded machines upstairs and most of the plate loaded machines seemed leg oriented.
Locker rooms smelled better than the gym, reminded me of middle school with the overpowering smell of axe body spray.
Overall thoughts: If you live in the area a decent gym to get your workouts in, did not blow me away. From what Iβve been told itβs worth the extra drive to the other locations.

Best gym in town says it all. You won't find a better lifting community, more equipment, better spaces for unusual and trending workouts, or a more competitive membership price. They honor insurance discounts, you get access to both locations, and the owner/proprietor Ben always seems to remember everybody's name and greet them each time they come in. It's also very inclusive on grounds of culture, race, age, gender, ethnicity, experience level, and overall fitness level. I cannot recommend this place enough.

If you like bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman, or Olympic lifting this is the best gym in town! Lifetime, LA Fitness, and others can't compete with the environment at either Franklin or Blisdale! This gym is a bit smaller than Franklin but I like the Oly room here better!

Amazing gym for anyone looking to seriously lift weights. Great for anyone from beginner to bodybuilder. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Parking can be a pain but if you drive around the block you can almost always find a spot.
