I do like the machines they have. Gym is well kept and spacious. Music is too loud. I saw one of the front desk workers working out on the clock on a Sunday afternoon. Thats total BS. If he’s getting paid to workout, I shouldn’t be paying for a membership. Very unprofessional. Many times they are out of wipes to clean the equipment. No AC for when it’s warm.

Awesome gym, great environment and equipment. I would certainly be a member if I lived there. The day pass is $27 and my friends who are members don't get guest passes. I sprung for the pass one night and tried to come back the next day within the same 24 hours and was told I'd have to buy an additional pass. I completely understand the high demand of this gym and their priority for locals but I wish it was more accessible for friends visiting.

The girl at the front desk was so rude. It was my first time trying Los and I wanted to ask questions. She snapped at us, rolled her eyes, and was speaking in a tone that made us feel like inconvenience to her. My best friend has been a member here and raves about it. Theres lots of equipment and a posing room, plenty of opportunity to have a good work out. Too bad we were treated so poorly as soon we stepped in.

Great lifting environment with top of the line gym equipment for the price point. By no means is it a luxury gym with sleek locker rooms, amenities and classes, but if you’re looking for a serious gym full of people who take bodybuilding seriously, highly recommend Los (and this location in particular)

Really is the best gym in town - if you’re into the hardcore bodybuilder/powerlifting gym experience, this gym is without a doubt the way to go. It doesn’t have all the amenities of lifetime fitness or LA, but it has better equipment, way lower price point (than LTF), super friendly staff, hype environment, etc. Can’t recommend enough - makes going to the gym the highlight of my day every time

I haven't been to this gym in years but I know the boxing ring is gone. Along with boxing training or classes. I noticed one of the videos was from 5 years ago when Jeremy and myself were training out of the gym as certified boxing coaches when they still had the ring. We're both certified USA boxing coaches and train out of Champions boxing gym now. If you're interested in what you see in that boxing class video posted from 5 years ago, you should definitely check out Champions Boxing Gym. If you're looking for a great gym for health, fitness and strength training. Los Campeones is awesome

great place to lift with fair prices and most people are cool. lots of equipment and cages.
the only problems i would mention are the parking is often difficult and i wish they would give parking stickers out. basically every time i'm here there are people going to centro, indeed, or earl giles parking in gym spaces.
the other thing is it gets crowded around 5pm on the stretching mat with the group classes. it would be cool if the group classes were held in the back area by the mirror room because that's almost empty so there is more room to stretch out or warm up.

This gym and its employees are extremely unwelcoming, judgmental. A good gym to visit once for a pump and never return. Definitely don’t recommend joint.

This gym used to be great but it has lost most of its charm.
I have been coming to this gym for a few years and really fell in love with the environment, the people, and the equipment. It felt like a great community.
Over the past few years though, it has only gone downhill. They stopped providing access to all gyms. Not all the gyms are the same. They have different equipment, some much better for specific areas than others. They now require to pay an additional fee to access most clubs (not all). They introduced an "Elite Black “ gym for a premium price if you don't want to deal with all the "influencers" constantly recording their sessions at the gym or want access to machines that your location may not have.
The NE has a lot of people recording their lifts. Some are nice and understand it’s a public gym and shared space but the few that don’t understand that ruin it for everyone. I don’t care if you record, but just know your lift is not more important than the people around you lifting at the same time.
Now for the location specific issues. The NE is now my primary gym and the only one go to. This location has added a few new machines over the past few years but nothing substantial. There seems to he more of a push to sell merch and to add posters instead of getting equivalent equipment that their other locations have or upkeep maintenance. There has also been a newish trend of putting derogatory phrases that are printed and all across the gym. Most people have common sense not to wash out a protein shake in the drinking fountain but there is a need to call people maggots. Sure it’s funny at face value and I’m not offended by it, it just comes across as trashy. Not a very warm uplifting or welcoming gym with notes like that posted everywhere. If you want to stop people from doing it, watch the cameras, warn and then ban the people that do it.
The gym has become so over crowded. Price point is lucrative and at first it’s a great gym and they keep getting new people in. The limited equipment and increasing number of people lifting makes it very difficult to get a lift in efficiently. Some people are nice and allow you to work but that’s not the normal behavior. In addition, there is a trainer who will kick you off if you are using a machine or area. I have seen them do this and not even use it for lifting but to sit on while they trained their clients. When that same trainer is lifting, they will TELL you that they are going to lift with you, but if you ask to lift with them, it’s a hard NO to let you work in with them.
Parking is always nightmare.
The gym is very dirty.
This one is really confuses me. The men’s bathroom has two urinals. One has been broken for at least 8 MONTHS. Why? Did the annual maintenance fee not cover this? There is one urinal and one stall. There is a sign above it that says “they will not flush themselves” - they also don’t fix themselves. No idea why plumbing cannot get fixed for months with the added head count and annual maintenance fee charged to all existing clients in Jan since there has been only minor updates elsewhere.
There are some good things. Most the people are good. Most the staff is great. They added some windows making it brighter. The equipment is good, it’s about on par with any serious lifting gym. They have added some new equipment which is nice but it’s not mind blowing. If you avoid the morning, lunch, or after work rush, it’s tolerable but still tend to wait for things.
Just my 2 cents. Check it out for yourself with a week pass before signing. Don’t bother paying for only a day pass.
Edit: They fixed the urinal shortly after I posted this. :)

“Look, man, I know it bothers you, but I’m not going to do anything about it.”
That’s what an employee said to me when I asked that someone without a handicap parking permit be asked to move their car from the only handicap parking spot. I told him to cancel my membership.
I am handicapped, and I’ve been a recreational weightlifter for most of my life. I studied exercise science at Concordia, though I didn’t finish the degree. I’ve got a shelf full of niche books by the likes of Rippetoe, Israetel, and others. I’ve been coached by Alex Viada. I’ve learned which exercises and machines work best for me. This is why I went to Los Campeones. Their combination of equipment selection and multiple locations is unparalleled in the Twin Cities.
I was a member of Los Campeones for two separate periods, the first in and around 2016 and again in and around 2019. In 2016, I went to the Blaisdell location. Nearly every time I showed up, the handicapped parking spots were taken by vehicles with no visible handicap parking permit. I spoke to the staff several times, asking them to try to ensure that these spots were reserved for handicapped people. They repeatedly assured me that they would. I told them that I didn’t mind the inconvenience during the summer, but that when ice covered the ground in winter, having to walk across the lot or across the street to the overflow lot—especially on a leg day—would mean risking a fall that could injure me.
Nothing changed.
I ended my membership and went elsewhere until a friend told me that they’d opened a new location in northeast Minneapolis that had more parking space.
The parking problem continued. I made the same requests with the same compromise as before. I was told something would be done.
Nothing changed.
At one point, I even spoke to Ben, the owner, who assured me that he took this issue seriously and would talk to his staff.
Nothing changed.
I don’t write this hoping it will change the way Los Campeones operates. Los Campeones has the right to narrowly cater to whichever customer base it wants. Businesses should not be forced to serve anyone. Businesses should rise and fall based solely on their ability to satisfy customers.
I just don’t think that disabled people are the customers that Los Campeones wants.

Have been coming here for about 6 months and it’s a game changer. I live nearby and was always intimidated by the place and felt like I wouldn’t fit in, but everyone is incredibly friendly. The receptionist at 5pm on Monday made my experience feel unwelcoming. I wanted to buy a pre-workout and asked him what flavor one of the drinks was because I couldn’t read it from so far and he just grabbed it and put it in front on my face—there was no need for this kind of action. I then asked him if there was a berry and he just walked away? Ruined the whole vibe. Customer service👎👎 the cleanliness is also lacking. The people that come to workout here are definitely the good energy.

I’ve been to gyms all over the country and never have I been so disrespected and embarrassed at a gym before.
The staff here from day 1 was talking gossip about myself and my company who I was with at the gym. My membership lasted 3 days before I couldn’t take it and approach the front desk to cancel my membership and my 2 companions. Full of pointing and laughing and singling us out I guess for being the new faces at the gym that didn’t fit their MN “look”
Of course they couldn’t say anything to us personally they just talked behind our backs. Pathetic. Would never recommend this gym.

This is a great gym. I come here often when I lack motivation. They have lots of professional equipment for every lift and great energy.
Special shout-out to Caleb. Every time I come he is always smiling and makes great conversation. He is also one of the only workers I’ve seen consistently cleaning and picking up trash.
Some things to keep in mind are that they are a weightlifting gym and have limited cardio machines. Also you have to bring your own locker lock and towel.

I usually go to the Franklin location but they did not seem to be taking the mask mandate seriously so I decided to check out another location. Unfortunately it was the same story, noses out all over the place and some people were only using visors. Even staff and trainers weren't taking it seriously. I've been going to los for years but it's really sad to see them not caring about the health crisis. In normal times though good gym overall.
Update:
With the second mask mandate there is one specific staff member I have seen enforcing the mask rule, huge shout out to him but don't know his name. My main complaint is the boxing area as the trainer and boxers do not even pretend to wear masks.

After moving to Chicago, I don’t think I’ve ever missed a gym more than this one and I really hope they consider a location here!! I went to this gym for over a year and felt intimidated at first since a lot of members train for competitions however, everyone there is so nice and nobody makes you feel out of place like other gyms. The members there respect each other, they actually put equipment back where it belongs, and the atmosphere gets you motivated. Los campeones has all the equipment you need and I love that they have a turf and outdoor area. Only downfall to this place is that there’s no ac in the summer at this location but I would still go here over an overpriced gym

As a plus size lady I was nervous about going to a gym with so many athletic people, but everyone is so focused on what they're doing that unless you're being obnoxious no one pays attention to you. Also the area is spacious so it's easy to spread out and not bump into other people.
Only cons is that there are not many cardio machines and due to the open concept it gets very hot in the summer. I didn't dock the rating for these things because 1) it's a weight lifting focused gym and I've never had an issue getting a machine as people mostly use them for warm ups. 2) They do their best to keep things cool in the summer with fans and large open windows for cross breeze. If you want chilly AC while you work out there are plenty of other options in the area.

Personal training here changed my life. The gym feels so exclusive. There is no way to workout here without being motivated to achieve amazing results as you are surrounded by body builders, fitness models, boxers and a the general gym addict. Or you will see people like me who were there to work with a trainer in small group training or individual training but do not belong to the gym.
Cons: it's not a helathclub with a pool, childcare or 24 hours availability. Parking can be hard as it is in a high demand neighborhood.
Pros: THE BEST TRAINERS I recommend MONTAE BAILEY with BFIT training.
My results were amazing and I felt support and part of a community here. I met friends that and networked with a bunch of (really pretty) people.
As if the people were not motivation enough you'll see people parking their new Maserati's and upscale cars and before you knoe it you have upgraded yourself physically and financially.
It helped me make a total lifestyle change
One day I walked to the Mexican restaurant at the end of the block, with friends from the gym for a drink. It was a fun vibe and so convenient.
I could go on and on with the pros; if you are thinking about joining or training here I say go for it!
They also have a beautiful outdoor gym so that you can enjoy the good weather while we have it in MN.

It's my favorite kind of gym. Very warehouse-y and rustic. Rough around the edges. Feels like everyone here is here to put in work and give it 110%. The people here might seem intimidating but everyone just wants to get big and strong like the rest of us. If you ask the staff for a tour theyll galdly show you around and people are usually down to help spot you if you ask nicely. There's also a really sick outdoor workout area that I love. The gym is definitely catered to the crowd of athletes in the power lifting, body building, and strongman fields but really anyone can workout here. I don't do any of that stuff but I still love to workout here. And yeah, everyone wears masks and sanitizes their equipment after use so it's aware of the times so you don't have to worry about that.

Disclaimer: This place is definitely not for everyone.
I'm not a powerlifter, shredded, or otherwise have a buff fitness physique. Average guy. This gym contains all of those people and average joes like me. Yet, I still find everyone friendly and respectful.
With that said, this gym has an environment that I love that you may not:
* Loud music playing throughout the gym - I never have to make a playlist or remember my headphones which is nice
* A high school feel of gym locker. Nothing fancy. - I do not use a sauna, showers, or ~amenities~ so no loss here
* Heavy on the weight lift equipment - I do cardio training in summer outside and for winter they have bikes, treadmills, stair climber that are generally free
* Renovations and new equipment - I have seen more way more improvements at this gym then any other I attended (new outdoors workout area)
* Not fancy. The place has an industrial vibe. I suppose it was a car repair place previously - I love it. To me, it is a place that yells "workout"
Obviously, the place is not perfect. Primarily, the place sucks for parking. During summer this is no big deal but on cold day in January/February this massively sucks. Don't think this one can be fixed...
Try it out for a month. I think they offer a free week pass if new to the gym. Good news is you can quickly get the vibe and feel to determine if this is the type of gym that fits you.

My husband is a member and I came in to sign up for the couple's membership. We were told that he had to cancel his membership and start a new one with me on it. However, they told him he needed 10 day notice to cancel so he would have to pay $50 for next month plus pay $70 today for the couple's membership. So he would have to double pay for 1 month when he's UPGRADING not CANCELING? Makes NO sense. Why couldn't they just discount the new membership $50? We left without signing up.

Los NE has everything you might want - Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, bodybuilding, even boxing. It’s a big facility, the owner/manager is really nice, the facility is relatively well kept, and the membership prices are great. But that’s about it for pros. It’s just really not an inviting place, and this is coming from someone who oly lifts and power lifts so I get the hardcore vibe and I’m down with it, it just seems like the people there don’t care about anyone. The employees are basically just there hanging out and rarely greet you or acknowledge anyone (who aren’t their friends). There’s people with their shirts off posing in the mirror, full weightlifting teams taking up all of the platforms and racks, or personal trainers and their clients using multiple pieces of equipment at once. Also, out of their control but the parking situation is just awful. Your mileage may vary but after almost a year of membership there I’ve grown to dread the place.
Oh and the employee who plays too loud of metal every evening there needs to chill, we all like rock but come on.

I was worried I wouldn’t fit in here because of the powerlifters and strong men that workout here but this gym is super mellow.
It’s geared towards lifting so don’t expect much cardio equipment, they do have some, however there’s lots of equipment plenty of space.
Everyone is happy and easy to get along with.

Awesome place! Wish they had a bigger powerlifting section though to accommodate everyone instead of 2-3 people per rack. Love that they have kilos

I was worried I wouldn't fit when I first joined but have found the staff, the fellow patrons, everyone to be just so nice and welcoming. Literally cannot recommend this gym (all 3 locations!) enough

Impressed so far by everything, from the staff to the quality of equipment to size of the place! Almost any lifting related fitness thing you might be looking for, they probably have (powerlifting, strongman, bodybuilding, oly). This is the kind of gym NE has been needing! I work across the street and walk there during my lunch hour 3-4 times a week, and they are still constantly getting new equipment in. They have a nice outdoor area too with sleds, tires, and racks if you want to do your workout in the sunshine.
One of the only downsides really is there is no AC, so on these humid summer days I'm basically drenched before I'm halfway done with my workout. They do have free towels so make use of them and grab a fan to point at yourself, and rinse in one of the showers afterwards, hah.

Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. They have the space and equipment so you can do anything from powerlifting to boxing to CrossFit— all without the weird animosity of other gyms. Just need better parking, but that’s not their fault, that alley just sucks.
