We have had a fabulous experience with MiniHops. Starting in their preschool programs, then in progressive rec, and now team. I attribute much of our daughter’s confidence to the lessons learned from her coaches. They are great about helping kids grow stronger physically, but also mentally. The only challenge we’ve ever experienced was functionally getting registered when we were trying to get into the rec program. I perceive they are trying to improve their systems in that regard.

I would recommend Mini Hops to any parent in the Twin Cities area. The coaches/staff are empathetic and patient with my kids even on their worst days. We also noticed the gym is very diverse and inclusive which is important to our family.

I’m extremely disappointed with the customer service at Mini-Hops Gymnastics, particularly from the front desk manager Anne. A week ago, my husband visited the facility for the first time with our daughter and needed to take her to the restroom. He called and asked me if they had a restroom for him to take our 3 year old daughter to, I stated I was unaware and maybe one of her female coaches could take her. I also told him he should check with front desk and as for assistance. Instead of receiving assistance or understanding, he was treated very rudely by Anne. This behavior was uncalled for and left a terrible impression.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. The manager has consistently displayed a rude attitude, which is unacceptable, especially toward paying customers. I called the establishment and asked Anne to speak with another manager. She then stated I could just tell her why I was calling I stated to make a complaint about you. Needless to say no one ever called me back. We chose Mini-Hops Gymnastics because we wanted a positive and supportive environment for our child, but the lack of courtesy from the front desk is deeply disappointing.

Customer service is a vital part of any business, and as paying customers, we expect to be treated with respect. I urge management to address this issue and prioritize better treatment of families. Until this improves, I cannot recommend Mini-Hops Gymnastics to others.

My 3 year old loves this place and we love the teachers here. Unfortunately the way their system works is you can only do one makeup class a month and holidays are built in as well( meaning they still charge you even though there are no classes) seems kind of unfair. My daughter has been sick 3 times in 2 months time period. Between those times there was a Thanksgiving holiday and no classes those few days. I was only able to shedule one makeup class because she was sick for 2 weeks in a row. To my calculations 75$ went to classes we didn't go to.

No refunds were provided and we still had to pay for the classes that were not scheduled due to Thanksgiving. If you're a parent that is not super budget friendly it's very frustrating and as unfair way to do business.

Do better. I'm very sure that I'm not the only one that feels this is inappropriate to charge for services not provided....

I’ve been going here close to 2 years and have always been satisfied. All the coaches are phenomenal and cheerful. They always take the time to chat to the parent after each class about how your child has been doing in class. Mini Hops is the best of the best that there is in this State!! Go here!

I agree with others who say the i struction is wonderful, staff and facility are friendly and welcoming. BUT, I hate the registration process. We have come here for wuite a while and yet can never get into the classes we would like. Even on a non registration opening day, the website frustrates me. I also don’t like this BS excuse about I-class or the email we got stating they have many more students than they can accommodate… That seems more like a management issue on their part. Time to go to s new provider, or you’ll continue to lose more customers.

Their programs are top notch, their staff is amazing, they offer a variety of fun classes and have decent class schedules. From that aspect, I absolutely do recommend them.

But.

Every single registration period is an absolute nightmare. Has been since covid and despite recommendations and complaints nothing has changed. Their system will automatically refresh every 30 seconds so by the time you search for the class you are looking for it resets. Today the entire site crashed because it can't handle the traffic.

This is a known problem that has not been addressed. There is an easy way to fix this (Space out registration -5 & under one day, K-3 another, etc) but they refuse to implement. Their response is always that iclass pro assures them that the 30 second refresh is normal.

it's honestly not worth the stress. Which stinks because everything else is great but I don't have time on a Monday morning to watch their website spin.

We’ve had our children attend mini hops since my son attended starting around 2015. It was a great experience at first- but I have to say I think they’ve gotten big headed and forgotten their roots.

Today I was physically unable to sign my younger one up due to our “cart” never loading. I spent almost 3 hours trying and it never loaded. I called for help and the desk assistant then manager basically told me “too bad so sad”. They said I just needed to wait because the “process is working”. It’s 8 pm this evening and I’m still locked out of my cart. That settles that! Almost 12 hours later and I couldn’t sign her up for a class if I wanted to.

I actually wanted my daughter to go to Kenwood because I think they are nicer people there. The vibe is just better. She’s just little (6) and “likes the trampolines at the big place better” so I’ve let her go to MiniHops.

But I’m glad she won’t be going there any more- While Ive been watching my daughters classes I’ve seen some of the older girls who train with the competitive team almost cry. Once I saw the male coach throw one of the teenage girls into “the pit” because she didn’t do something quite right and she looked like she was about to cry and the other girls looked to scared to even move a muscle at that moment.

This place is heading downhill. Honestly I recommend looking elsewhere. I think you as a parent will have a better experience, and so will your kid.

Great experience for a beginner! Only con is that their popularity means it’s tough to get a spot for most classes, even when signing up at the earliest available time. Overall though, a great business.

We are very happy to be able to send our kids to Mini-Hops! We have one child who does summer camp and classes and one child in the Adaptive Gymnastics program. The facility is really huge and all of the coaches we have met so far are great. Our son loves the camp. The camp is a good value for all that is provided even though it costs about 25% more than a park district, school district and day care center camps we looked at. The Adaptive Gymnastics program is an invaluable resource for the community area. Dani, our child’s coach is caring and engaging. The adaptive classes are 1:1 and work out to about $50/hr, which is pretty typical for therapeutic services. Mini-Hops adaptive programs can be paid for through disability waiver programs. I only wish they could have a little bit more open gym or other more flexible opportunities, but I completely understand why they don’t have them (cost, liability, Covid etc.)

We’ve been sending our kids to Mini-Hops for the past 10+ years. My daughter attended rec classes and has been on the Xcel team for the past 5 years. My son attended the academic preschool. I appreciate that they are a non-profit. They are a well-run gym— organized, provide consistent communication and they have long-tenured staff. My daughter has learned many skills, both on and off the mat and has made lifelong friends at Mini-Hops.

We love both the Mini-Hops gymnastics program and the Mini-Hops academic preschool!

We’ve had two children go through the preschool
program over the last 5 years. Miss Kris, Miss
Cyndi and the other staff have prepared my children extremely well for kindergarten. A perfect balance of education and physical activities in the gym.

The gymnastics program has been around since I was a kid and is well known in the Twin Cities for its exceptional program. My girls have learned concrete gymnastics skills that they can build on over the coming years. We’ve had a handful of great instructors, all of which are kind and patient during our first two years in the program. We look forward to many more fun years at Mini-Hops!

We are enjoying our time at MHG. The staff is always kind, respectful, and well-informed. I especially like how recreational coaches take time to check in with parents from time to time after class.

We are having an equally positive experience with Coach Keyla and the Excel program. She is great, she motivates and encourages my daughter in a positive atmosphere.

We love Mini-hops! I started taking my son Jackson to classes this summer and my daughter also attends their preschool. I only have good things to say about both experiences. For the trampoline and tumbling class, the coach Ryland keeps the kids moving the whole time—they really get a good workout. My son always enjoys going which says a lot! He’s learning new skills and I feel better about him jumping on our own trampoline now b/c I think he has better body awareness even as he’s doing more difficult tricks. The women who run the preschool are also fantastic. I can tell they really care about my daughter’s well-being and they seem to enjoy their jobs. The kids all look very happy. I plan to continue with both preschool and gymnastics classes for both kids into the foreseeable future.

I have been bringing my kids to Mini Hops for years, my daughter started when she turned 2 (now 4) and my son, 2, just started up as well. The kids have a great time every week, ever coach we've worked with has been great with the kids, good communication, and gives so much 1:1 attention to each child. The staff has always been helpful with working with schedules, answering questions, etc. I personally feel the cost is reasonable for the content of the lessons, too. My son was struggling at the beginning and the coaches took the time to determine how he would learn and grow best and he has gotten stronger and more confident every week. Both of my kids jump for joy on Hops day and even practice their gymnastics more at home than ever before. Definately would recommend to anyone!

They go above and beyond for families, create positive experiences for all children, and teach skills that last, both in gymnastics and life. I love this facility and the staff - front desk and instructors alike. I think there is room for improvement with mask enforcement. I would like front desk staff and 4-year-old preschool students to wear masks in the gym during the daytime when my child attends a group class. I would also like to see the older team kids wear masks in the evenings. Last week there were about 8-10 girls on uneven bars not wearing masks - even when standing around and talking. Masks should be required and ON during rest periods and chatter, NO buts about it.

Mini Hops is one of the most wonderful places ever for kids and families. The staff and coaches are kind, always positive, safe and trustworthy. The academic preschool is also a hidden gem. Not only do the kids get a phenomenal education but the large motor skills they gain from the gym are fantastic and so amazing for their confidence! Not to mention the teachers are amazing and the two classes are the perfect size for group interaction and one on one attention. They also have such an amazing set of inclusive programming and you can chose to be as competitive as you want. So if your child simply needs an place to burn off some energy or if they want to excel at the sport, this is the place for them!

My Daughter goes to Mini Hops since one year, till this year's first term we were satisfied. Good Coaches, good focus and attention on students But from this year's first term all experienced coaches are busy with team training and for regular classes new coaches assigned who have been trained recently. No experience. We will gonna stop from next month. Rather paying $215 for mini hops will switch to another activity. And most important when we registerd it seems another coach will train your child and in between they just shuffle. I have regisred for first term coach wasn't so good so stop register fro second term after selecting coach but again coach is changed.
