I really liked the course! Had a handful of dog legs, so you have to plan some of your tee shots. The greens and fairways are nice. There's a nice creek that runs through the course and make several holes interesting.

HORRIBLE PEOPLE!! No one had patience, treated us so rude, we were told to hurry up by multiple “club members” by a 14 year old employee. Almost got hit on purpose by a “club member” playing while we were going on hole 11. We had beginners with us and the club didn’t care. They treated all of us so bad because we weren’t members. We played 18 holes TWICE!! So we were told “most people don’t stop to eat after 9 holes” well why do you have a menu in the cart?! Mind you- we had people with disabilities. 3 people playing. They said it should have taken 4 hours for 18 holes. Again, we ate after 9 inside as customers and were treated like crap too! We let people go by us and tried to be kind and good golf etiquette. Not at this place! If you’re a Karen- this is definitely the place for you! You wanna go have fun, DO NOT GO HERE!! So disappointed in the people of this town and how we were treated at a LOCAL establishment! Conveniently the manager wasn’t in! So we WILL be calling tomorrow morning for a refund! It was absolutely ridiculous! One person playing has been playing for 40 years and has NEVER ran into issues like this and screaming at CHILDREN!! Do better Monticello Country Club!!

Ladies, if you want to get harassed by little boys, literally little teen boys, then this is the place for you. I’ve never had ever dealt with that kind of harassment. And these boys worked for the golf course. As a female golfer, I get bothered by guys. If you know, then you know. But it was nothing like this experience. I literally had to pull a club out to tell them to back off. Not only once but two times. And me pulling out my club was the first time ever I’ve had to do so on a course. I had already told them to back off three times with my words before the two times with my club in hand. They weren’t playing golf anymore but following me on the hole I was on. So I told them to back off a total of five times. Then I was in full fear for my life that I called the club house and told them what was going on. They said they’ll send someone out. But no one ever came to see if I was still alive and okay. It was me (108lbs) verses four (my size and up) of teen boys. They were all riding a cart. I was walking. They were originally in front of me slowing down pace of play. I had to wait quite a few holes in the front nine and there was a foursome riding behind me waiting as well. The guys behind me definitely played with golf etiquette. Never did they shoot into me. At the turn the boys let me through. And then that’s when they started to harass me, at hole 12 and onwards to 15 where I had to now defend myself with a club. I came up to the group ahead of me at hole 11 and they too played with golf etiquette, kept pace of play. So for this place, if you work there then you get a pass. Even if it meant harassment. Never have I ever had anyone from a club house get that close to me. Especially in the middle of the fairway. They’ve always stayed at least in the cart path if they were a marshal. Only person I’ve ever experienced come near me on a golf fairway is my group I’m with or the cart girl. The cart girl would even stay relatively close to or on the rough. Never have I ever had another group approach me on my fairway intentionally. Never going back again. Stay safe ladies.

The Monticello Country Club course is a GREAT course for young and old and those in the middle age group. I am in the older age group and have ALWAYS enjoyed playing here.

I enjoy the course and have wonderful staff, but their tee time schedule is very very limited. I purchased a season pass the past 2 seasons. The year prior I don’t recall having issues securing a tee time in the afternoon during the week days. This season (2022) there has rarely been tee times past 3:00 pm Monday-Friday. I’ve looked a week ahead at times and still no later times. So if you work a job with standard hours I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a membership (as I will be for the next season). They do offer a cheap membership for golfers under 30 years old, but when you can never golf besides weekend— it is not worth it. Great course for the unemployed and retired. If I was able to enjoy the pass like I had imagined I would rate 5/5. I understand having a league night 1 or 2 times a week, but having 5 evenings booked out on almost a weekly basis is ridiculous.

The Monticello Country Club is a great track and is nice for those that live nearby and for anyone looking to avoid the long rounds and jammed packed courses in the Twin Cities. Just a 40 minute drive away, you can play a nice round of golf, get good food and drink at the clubhouse, and use their full driving range. The course plays tight on many holes so make your decisions wisely. It is challenging but fair overall and the greens are well kept. It's a great value in general but is an exceptional option for those that are PCC members if you're willing to drive a bit. In the winter they also put up indoor simulators that are lots of fun and offer great rates compared to other simulator options around the Twin Cities.

Best course I've played in the area! Love all of the people and the staff was absolutely wonderful! The pace was good for being extremely busy. Very accomondating to lower skilled golfers who are just looking to have a good time! The pro shop staff was super friendly while checking in and the bartenders and beverage cart girls were all amazing!

Would definitely recommend to any golfer! An absolute must play!

Love the course and the simulators were nice, however the staff has ruined it for me. A number of times, the bill was wrong and the staff got snippy for pointing it out to them. Watched the staff literally swear at customers for questioning the bill.

The manager gives speeches about how you should "tip on what the bill would have been" during happy hour...while at the same time the staff refused keep my second beer cold in the fridge.

Tried to apply a $5 coupon and the staff at first refused to apply the discount because they said they didn't know how. Worst example of customer service I've ever seen.

I'll continue to play the course in the summer, but won't go to the bar or simulators again until things change.

Good atmosphere! Player in many simulators, true ball flight and distance comparison with summer game on an actual course. Did play a mountain course with MN altitude on option tab beFire playing so yardage was shorter but expected. No glitches or hold ups. Played 18 holes in 3 hours with 3 people.

Great golf course, matured course not sure how old by the size of the tree's you can get a feel this course has been around a while. Not forgiving if you don't keep your ball away from the tree lined fairways. But the greens omg they are fantastic! I play a lot of golf and these are the greens I look for. Very challenging need to put the ball in the correct spot on the right level and can use the slopes as back stops to hit into. Price was unbelievable for a course of this caliber 25 bucks for 18 and half a cart fall rates. 32 peak season. I heard conversations in parking lot leaving, "best deal around"! My 1st time playing their and I live hour and a half away but will be making the worth while trip again.

This was a terrible experience. Two groups of 5 were allowed to go out. Then a foursome of extremely slow men. It was painful. I quit after 9 holes. It would have taken me over 5 hrs. To golf 18 holes! And that is what is killing golf!!!

Disappointing check-in experience last evening...I have been going to Monticello country club for many years… 2 to 4 rounds per year typically. Generally 9 holes after work. I coordinate a traveling golf league consisting of a dozen hackers and Monte is one of our stops.
My complaint was trying to use the player's pass certificate last evening. Typically players pass is for 18 holes, 2 FOR 1 green fees but you have to pay for a cart fee. All courses I've used it on have let me use it for 9. But not Monticello last evening. The regular nine-hole fee with a cart is $30 per player, but if I would've used my players pass certificate last evening they would've charge me $35 per player. When I asked for some concession I received nothing but a response of "only the club pro can make this type of concession". I don't agree and did not care for their lack of accommodation. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Perhaps next year I'll consider a different course for our traveling golf league.
