I have been a member of MSP for 7+ years. I am so pleased with the results of my training. The staff is awesome and there is plenty of attention given to help you improve your fitness and health. Even with the Covid shutdown they offered zoom classes to help members keep up with their workout routine. So glad I found MSP!!

I've been a member of MSP for about 2.5 years now and I can't say enough good things about it! I love working with Toni and love the atmosphere that MSP has created. I've come further than I ever thought possible in this time and am so much stronger both body and mind. I'm part of the 6 a.m. crew and we have more fun than you'd think that early in the morning and we work hard. Everyone is there to support you, not just the coaches. I feel very fortunate to have come across MSP on a walk one day, I can't imagine working out anywhere else. Thank you Toni and Michael for making fitness both fun and educational!!!!!

In the world of over-saturation of gyms and workouts, MSP fitness sets itself apart from the others in all the ways that really matter. This is NOT a place of fad workouts, quick gains and plateaus. Instead the programming helps set intelligent and achievable goals that won't cause fatigue, burnout, or breakdown. The coaches Toni and Michael work closely with each individual whether just starting to work out, rehabbing from an injury, or just chasing top class fitness, they help with each stage in the journey. The community of people is welcoming and warm and would recommend to anyone looking for a gym to belong to and achieve fitness goals.

I have been working out at MSP Fitness for about six weeks now. I am not completely able bodied - I have a partially mechanical knee after a cycling accident in 2017 - so I knew that if I wanted to start working out again, that I needed to make sure my form was on point. Another important thing for me is finding a space that is welcoming to non-cis men of all body types. MSP Fitness really really helps you see results. Michael takes the time to come up with a workout plan for each person, and knowing about my knee and my fitness goals (I'm a cyclist that knew nothing besides biking and squats with bad form), I am actually at a point my body feels GOOD on a day-to-day basis. My quality of life has increased exponentially - I can even use stairs without feeling discomfort in my bad knee, which I literally have NEVER felt after my injury.
I am so happy that I found this place. Here's why:
-Staff: The coaches are SO WELCOMING. They are willing to drop everything to help you with form or any random questions you have. They are constantly checking in with how you are feeling, and have been conscious of my limited mobility from day one. I NEVER feel like I'm pressured to push past what I am able to do on any given day, but the staff is there to celebrate with me when I accomplish more than I was expecting to. I never get lectured on my nutrition or how many times I can make it there in a week.
-Facilities: the gym is relatively easy to get to once you know where to go. It's always clean, there are two gender neutral bathrooms, and has plenty of space for everyone. I never have to wait around for equipment.
-Other members: everyone at this place is so nice. I chose to do the group classes because I wanted the community aspect of joining a gym like this, and I'm really really happy I did. There are people that lift more than I will ever be able to, but they never act like they're above anyone else. A lot of classes end with partner workouts and they've always been fun no matter who I am paired with. There are days when I am the only femme-identifying person but it is never an issue.
-Classes: The group workouts are always a perfect size. I've never been there with more than 10 other people working out at one. This is crucial because it gives the staff plenty of time to check in with each individual and I always have enough space to get my workouts done.
TL;DR this gym is REALLY great and I look forward to going there every week.

Finally found a gym that doesn't feel like a factory. Attention to technique so no one gets injured. Supportive and fun environment - feels like a family. Endless variety of workout options that keep it interesting and fresh. No treadmills or tv's exist in this gym! And no supersized dudes or women with makeup and shiny jewelry. Everyone is there to improve their fitness regardless of age or body type. It's approachable and refreshing!

Great coaches, great workouts, great environment, great gym! All skill levels are welcomed and challenged accordingly, and the classes are small enough that you get individual attention all the time.

MSP Fitness is a gym meant for any type of person who is looking to increase their muscle strength, muscle endurance and, most importantly, incorporate a healthy dose of working out into their daily routine. Taylor (a competitive weightlifter) and Michael (Taylor's strength coach) are the most knowledgeable individuals one could ask for as fitness coaches. I feel comfortable approaching the two with any question I may have; anything from what I did correctly or incorrectly in a lift to their nutritional views and advice.
Taylor and Michael foster a welcoming and friendly environment where lifting for a maximum weight is not the goal; the concentration is on the proper and healthy form of lifts. At the same time, these two coaches will push you to lift more than you ever thought you could and will help you do so in a robust manner. MSP Fitness will help you to become confident in your abilities and lifts; the following are thoroughly covered through the classes: deadlift, back squat, front squat, split squats, bench press, hang clean, power clean, press, push press, among many other lifts and workouts! Come prepared to work and to put your best foot forward at MSP!

MSP Fitness is awesome! Michael and Taylor bring fun, challenge, support and extensive knowledge about coaching and exercise. Overall, it is a holistic practice to living your life stronger. Their guided approach has helped me stay engaged with the gym, offered variety (definitely not bored with the same old routines) and taught me how to move, lift and exercise within my personal limits. Unquestionably, put MSP Fitness at the top of your list as you look at gyms where you can start or continue your own personal journey.

I am relatively new in the world of crossfit and feel lucky to have found MSP Fitness. In high school I was active in team sports and loved working out. During college I lost that drive to workout. I tried everything from beachbody to expensive gym memberships and nothing seemed to work. After watching a colleague of mine get into great shape with crossfit I decided to swallow my pride and give it a try knowing that I would be starting at ground zero. What i found for me is that this gym is the least pretentious place I've ever been. There are people from all skill levels pushing themselves to the max. For me...the group fitness program provides me with the motivation, competition and accountability I need to meet my health goals. Michael and Taylor make you feel like you personally are their top priority in the class. If anyone is skeptical, shy, scared about starting from scratch...I challenge you to try one class out. You will be hooked. I'm glad I'm a member of the MSP family. Judgement free zone.

A new variety, that is what I was looking for last fall when an opportunity to try out MSP Fitness came across my radar. The gym I was using at the time had become predictable and routine. That translated to boring. MSP offered a six week introductory class. By the end of that six weeks, I was hooked. The fitness group programming put together by Taylor every week has kept training variable and challenging.

Working out with MSP has taught me lifts that I used to be too scared of and frankly just didn't know the mechanics to even start. I was used to free weights and aerobics. Since joining I am no longer afraid to go after that bar bell, do a front squat, back squat, use the trap bar, you name it (I can't believe I am even writing that)! Thank you MSP for giving me the confidence to try things I never thought I could do!

Love this place! I joined three months ago and it was the best fitness decision I've ever made! Michael, Taylor and Van educate and challenge you in an extremely positive environment. There's always a lot of variety in the workouts and all of the clients are very welcoming to new members. Oh, and the music is awesome! :) Thanks for all that you do!

I joined 3 months ago and it is one of the best decisions I have made! I love the atmosphere in the gym, it truly is individual training in a group setting, Micheal and Taylor are amazing coaches, gently correcting my techniques and constantly motivating me to do better plus my fellow members are incredibly friendly and always supportive. I recently turned 50 and I have never felt out of place here and have always felt welcomed. If you are looking to take some positive steps in your overall health and fitness I cannot recommend MSP Fitness highly enough!

Conveniently located on the N. Cedar Lake Regional bike trail in St. Louis Park--I discovered the gym riding by. I inquired about personal training and they were nice enough to explain that I'd be a better fit in their small group course (which is also more affordable). The place is clean. The people are nice--it is competitive in a motivational/fun way; it is NOT a judgy culture. The coaches keep an eye on each individual's range of motion to suggest form adjustments. There is a big emphasis on maintaining good form before pumping up the weight too much. I like this style b/c I think it will help me get back in good condition while avoiding injuries. Good promoters of life-long fitness. It's also quite fun! I'm ~4 months in and really feeling that I'm making progress in my fitness.

Truly a transformative fitness experience. I happened upon this gym over 4 years ago, walking my dogs and I've been beyond thrilled to be a part of this community ever since. The coaching staff is incredible, focused on technique, and always willing to differentiate instruction to cater to each individual in the gym. I've learned volumes from my time at the gym and can honestly say that I'm never bored with a workout and truly look forward to each and every class I take there.

As a remote coaching client, Michael manages my programming each week by reviewing video I take of my lifts and weights. As a coach myself, it was a huge relief to let Michael manage my programing as it was becoming difficult to combat boredom and avoid injury due to repetitive patterns.
Michael immediately knew what I needed, and introduced new movements with a focus on perfect practice without overwhelming me with volume. Itβs been eight weeks, and my prior injuries have all healed. I look forward to my training again, and Iβm measurably stronger!
Everyone needs a coach like Michael

I joined MSP Fitness 3 months ago and it is hands down the best experience Iβve ever had with a gym. I highly encourage anyone who is looking to get in better shape and be healthier to contact Michael to chat about options. Thank you Michael and Taylor!

I did Crossfit for almost four years but noticed that my lower back was starting to hurt. I didn't know what to do because I wanted to continue to work out, but didn't want to aggravate my back so I felt lost. I was referred to MSP on a whim and once I met with Michael I knew that this was where I needed to be. He has helped me correct my form and I am able to work out without back pain! He understood my desire to keep my body healthy as I age and continue to workout. He is helping me learn how to listen to my body and change a movement if something isn't working....I no longer just blindly work through my pain.

Michael at MSP Fitness truly cares about your success not only in the gym, but in creating a healthy sustainable lifestyle. From the beginning he took the time to find out my goals, what results I wanted to achieve and put together a game plan on how we could achieve it in a sustainable way. He is extremely thorough in teaching why we are doing the things we were doing and how exactly to do them to achieve the most success. Whether you are just starting out and intimidated by a gym or are a seasoned weight lifter and looking for someone to help take you to the next level I highly recommend MSP Fitness.

This is my first real gym experience, in my life. I've visited others, but just couldn't see myself spending time in them, so I never joined... MSP Fitness is different and it's been wonderful. While still new to MSP Fitness, a little over a month, I go three times a week, to the 'Jumpstart Class'. There are about 7 of us, focused attention from Michael makes the difference, a huge difference. I've made it a priority in my life and it's improved my life, already, in this short time.
There is not a single mirror at MSP fitness, no pretense, no posturing, no judgement. There are all different kinds of people, ages, body types. It's a safe community where everyone, respects everyone else. I'm not there to burn calories or just put time in on a stair master like so many other gyms. I work through a specific program while receiving individual attention that makes it all more meaningful. 5 stars!

As of the moment I'm writing this, the are only five star reviews for this gym. You must be thinking that all these people are getting kick backs, or the gym owners have a bunch of Google accounts and a lot of free time. Perhaps you're thinking that it's just a bunch of culty nutty Crossfit people and they would write this about any gym. Maybe you're trying to find some other explanation for why one more person is taking their precious Saturday afternoon to write yet another five star review for a place they only spend a few hours per week.
Stop.
The reason there are only highly positive reviews for this place is because it deserves it. Truly.
I've tried going to gyms and fitness clubs, surrounded by anonymous faces and elaborate machines, and I failed. I've tried exercising at home, with and without videos, with and without weights, with and without partners, and I've failed. I've tried "just being more active and eating better", and I have failed. I can't say for certain where I'll be in a year, but I'm as certain as I can be that I will still be going to this gym. It's cold in there in winter, I'm still too fat to properly do some of the movements, and I feel ridiculous pushing that horrible Prowler across the length of the rubber floor. And yet every time I leave I can't wait to get back. I look forward to it all day.
Don't read any more reviews. Don't look at any more gyms. You found the right one. Call, go there, whatever - just talk to them. Go for a week. I promise that in a month you'll still be going. You might not be writing an overly long rambling review, but you will be excited to go back.

My experience here has been nothing short of excellent. The coaches are fantastic people and amazing coaches. They never sacrifice quality when teaching you how to lift. The gym is an exciting and supportive atmosphere. I would highly recommend going to this gym if you want to learn how to properly lift in a great environment.

Iβve had the privilege of working with Michael and MSP Fitness for almost 4 years. I appreciate Michaelβs emphasis on proper mechanics and movement; his approach prioritizes longevity and optimal functioning, which is essential to anyone looking to incorporate and sustain a healthy lifestyle.
Since moving from MN, I have had the opportunity to join several CrossFit gyms, and have opted to continue working remotely with Michael due to the quality of the coaching he provides both in the gym, and with my recovery outside of the gym. If you are considering joining a gym, trying CrossFit, or curious about improving your health I highly recommend MSP Fitness.

I can't believe how lucky I was to end up at MSP Fitness. I was referred by a college track teammate almost 2 years ago and though I wasn't necessarily looking to get into CrossFit, I decided to give it a try based on her recommendation. Michael completely demolished any preconceived notions I had and really impressed me from our very first meeting. The training is thoughtful, intentional, scalable, and fun! I have some background in athletics and after my collegiate career ended, I really missed training with a team. I found it difficult to train on my own without a team and a coach to keep me accountable. The community at MSP is everything I was looking for and is one of the best 'teams' I have ever been a part of.

3yrs ago I walked in here skeptical of the Crossfit cult. 3 years later I've moved to a new state and refuse to join another gym because I know it'll never be the same. Consider myself so lucky to have found a Crossfit gym that prioritized how well a person moves more than how much a person pukes. Miss everything about this place, the coaching, the community, miss it all! ..well, except the Airdynes. Eff those demon machines.

About 2 years ago I decided I wanted to improve my health and fitness. I realized that everything I was doing up to that point wasn't working. It was time to try something completely different. After some research, it seemed the basic principles of Crossfit were what I was looking for -- time efficient, high intensity workouts with results. So I went looking for a gym and I found MSPFitness. And, without a doubt, I got exactly the changes I was looking for. But I soon realized I was getting something I couldn't get anywhere else -- an extremely motivating and positive community paired with an outstanding and dedicated coaching staff. Seriously, the coaching staff is phenomenal and they have completely gained my trust. I'm confident they are always putting safety and form first. Choosing this gym was one of the best decisions Iβve made.

MSP Fitness comes with my highest recommendation. It's refreshing to join something where you feel as though you're really a part of something, not just a number. The methodology of the workouts combining resistance training with purposeful, intense cardio is the formula for effective training.
The programming will absolutely help you achieve your fitness goals, but the coaches and community deliver the type of experience to keep you coming back. That's an underrated component of health and fitness activity - if you genuinely like the people and context of your workout beyond just the physical movements, you're simply more likely to go. And that's a big driver of what will make you see results - consistency.
Join, you won't regret it.
