We have been so impressed with this karate school for our son. Instructors are so passionate and committed, they command respect from the students in such a kind way. Always amazed by the structure of the lesson with multiple children of varying age levels and ability working together and learning from one another. Instructors call children by name and are fabulous at what they do. Love the flexibility to participate in various class times each week, really caters to busy families nicely. Thank you for what you do!

I am truly humbled to be a student at Woodbury National Karate. I found a school willing to take me on.
I am 68 yers old. I had my first lesson with Master Carnahan on September 6, 1989 when I was 35 years old. Many of my friends and family couldn’t understand why I would start doing such a physical and mentally challenging sport at my age. I was simply tired of the treadmill, yoga and gym classes.

I am thankful for my instructors: Ms Paula Aburto, Mr Jesse Zaragoza, Mr R. Zaragoza and Mr J. Zaragoza.They each have the patience of a saint working with me. I really appreciate the expertise and experience of the instructors. In addition to being experts in their fields, they are wonderful people in all ways. They have been good to me since day one.

My age limits me sometimes for certain moves, but my instructors inspire me to work hard and do the best I can. Proper form and doing good karate all stem back to the school giving you your training.

It is truly a humbling experience to be trained in such an excellent school with instructors who understand me.

If you want to learn Karate, this is a great place no matter your age. You will receive a great foundation of the basics here and they help you achieve your goal no matter what belt level you want to achieve. Just a warning, karate is addicting, once one member of the family starts others want to join in.

If you, or your children are interested in learning the “Art” of Karate, you will not find a better place. NK Woodbury is special for many reasons; however, the Team is what sets it apart from all the others. Mrs. Aburto is the driving force behind this program along with Master Zaragoza and Mr. R. Zaragoza. If you want to hold yourself or your children to the highest of standards, you will love Woodbury NK. Learning Karate is only part of what you will take away from this program. They use words like respect, discipline, commitment, focus, honor and mental fortitude. This is not a program that “hands out belts,” you must earn them. If you are looking for instant gratification, you should look elsewhere. My two sons have not only learned what success feels like, they have learned how to handle disappointment and failure. While they love the success, the disappointment and failure have taught them how to fall, getup, and do what it takes to succeed. This program teaches kids how to adapt, adjust and overcome, and kids today need these skills more than ever. We have met a great group of people that makeup the Woodbury NK family, so if you have every wanted to challenge yourself or your children, check them out. My daughter stared attending classes at Woodbury National Karate about a month ago. She's a shy 5 year old who has some motor development delays, and we wanted to put her in a martial arts class to help her improve her stability, balance, and motor skills, gain confidence, and to be able to use these skills as a lifelong practice.

Before we found NK, we tried another martial arts studio, and they told me that my daughter "wasn't ready" to practice due to her delays. So we decided to try another studio. From the moment I met Ms. Paula, she and the team at Woodbury National Karate have believed in my daughter, encouraged her, and done everything in their power to help her grow and learn. She has been attending for about a month and I am in awe and thrilled with the changes I see in my daughter. She LOVES her class and instructors, she is so much more confident, has better balance, works so hard, and is so proud of what she is is learning. We are so proud of the skills she is developing, physical skills and also less tangible lessons, like respect, focus, commitment, and a work ethic. It is truly incredible.

The team at Woodbury National Karate is always so kind, attentive, and encouraging. As a mom, I could not ask for any better instructors to teach my daughter than those at WNK. 10 out of 10 - would recommend!

My 9 year old has been going for about a year and we are very happy with their program. She loves the teachers and the classes. We go 3-4 times a week and are really happy we found National Karate. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a healthy and educational activity for their children. The instruction and classes enhance my daughter's confidence and focus.

Woodbury National Karate is top notch! All of the instructors have high standards of excellence and do a fantastic job of working with every single student to reach their full potential. When we signed up our daughter I did not anticipate how much she would love karate, but 6 years later she is still going strong and I believe a big reason is the passion and drive of the owners and instructors.

I would have given more than 5 but that's the max I could give. An amazing place with such dedicated coaches. Mrs Aburto and Mrs Baron are out of the world. I have been to another Karate school and my kid was just lost in the crowd. Here they DO have group but they pay individual attention to EVERY SINGLE kid in the class. They know exactly where each child need to focus and work. If you are looking for a place to develop the self confidence of your child- This place is the one!!!
It just took 2 months for a timid shy girl to get transformed into this CONFIDENT kid who could speak up for herself, which for a mom like me is a dream come true. I never thought I would see such positive changes so soon .
It's a shame that we have to relocate to West Coast. I wish I can take This branch along with me..

We absolutely LOVE Woodbury National Karate. Before joining, my son had little self confidence and talked so quietly. He is a totally different kid now and it has only been just over 6 months. The teachers are great with the kids and very patient. I recently re-signed my son up for a year and am very happy with his progress. The classes are fairly small so kids get the attention they need. I highly recommend if you are looking for a great karate school.
