I’ve got into running in the last couple years and as I’ve grown I’ve learned it takes more than youth and mental toughness to grow. The Oak Endurance strength classes will give you the tools to go from a good to great runner and increase overall health! You’ll make some friends along the way too. Definitely would recommend to anyone

Jacob is awesome! I have been training with Jacob for about a year and a half now and have seen some exciting gains in both my strength and my running performance. This is the longest stretch in years of marathon training that I have had with no running related injuries. Jacob brings in expertise from multiple different modalities to create a very holistic training plan. I would highly recommend Oak Endurance to anyone looking to take their fitness to another level!

I highly recommend Jacob Oak Endurance to any runner—from beginners to sub-elite athletes—who wants to get faster, stronger, and better understand how strength and power support distance running.

Jacob's Strength for Endurance Athletes classes have been a total game changer for me. Not only have I seen real improvements in my running, but I’ve also gained a much deeper understanding of how targeted strength work translates to better performance and injury prevention.

Most recently, I did a gait analysis with Jacob to get to the root of some lingering injuries. I was blown away by his expertise. He analyzed my stride during a regular 8-mile run and on the treadmill at various paces in different shoes. From there, we pinpointed specific inefficiencies and developed a plan with the right strength work and treatment strategies to address them.

Jacob is a true student of the sport—constantly learning, reading, listening, and staying current on the latest research. He regularly attends industry conferences and brings that knowledge directly to his athletes. Jacob Oak Endurance is one of the best decisions you can make if you're trying to get faster, stronger, and stay injury free.

Jacob's group fitness classes are both fun and challenging. I knew very little when I started and Jacob was able to guide me through proper form and technique. He also isn't afraid to call me out when I'm not putting in full effort. I also appreciate the attention he gives to anyone with a question, even if they aren't a personal training client.

We highly recommend Jacob and Oak Endurance! Our son worked with Jacob to recover from a back injury due to basketball. Jacob’s unique depth of knowledge and ability to implement a phased plan of strength training, corrective movement patterns, and exercises was key to our son’s progress and recovery. Jacob is a fantastic trainer and I always enjoy his workouts (despite my grumbling haha). He sets a great vibe: hard work in a chill environment. The workouts are as difficult as you want them to be, and varied - never repetitive or boring! He listens to you and cares about your fitness experience and goals. He offers modifications if you want them, but also pushes you to challenge yourself. As a former "cardio-only" athlete, I have been delighted with my improvement in fitness after adding Jacob's classes to my schedule.

I met Jacob, the owner, when I started using the Ford Center fitness suite during my lunch breaks at work. Jacob took an interest in my fitness journey and has played a major role in revitalizing my running and lifting regiment.
Jacob is friendly and supportive and I am grateful our paths crossed!

Working with Jacob for strength training has changed the game for me in a big way. When we started working together, I was struggling with chronic low back pain from a herniated disc injury and feeling pretty defeated about my running. In the past 6-7 months, my back pain is not a problem anymore and I've made gains with running and lifting that I was never able to accomplish on my own. Jacob is a wonderful coach, and more importantly a great person who can take an individualized approach to his athletes, no matter what their goals are. If you're looking for a community, Jacob's built a really good one.

I love working with Jacob and Oak Endurance! I've been attending his strength training classes for several years. He is always prepared, responsive, tuned in to individual abilities of everyone in class, and challenges me and everyone else. Jacob always seems to know what each person is capable of, can sense when there is an injury or soreness that is showing up in a person, and offers guidance and coaching on how to work through it. He has made me a better athlete, runner, and person.

I have posted previously but would like to add that after experiencing a herniated disk, it was Jacob who encouraged me to start strength training to prevent future back injuries and I am very grateful to him for that! I have been strength training since that time and it is definitely noticeable and I feel so much stronger and just better now!

Jacob is an awesome strength and running coach! I have loved working with him in his group fitness classes—he assigns a good mix of different exercises to build strength and prevent injuries in runners. He adapted the classes to meet group members’ areas they wanted to work on and helped me with modifications to keep me running strong during my pregnancy. Jacob gives an educational component to his workouts so attendees learn how to choose exercises that support their running goals when they workout independently. He has a supportive attitude and his group classes are great whether you are new to strength training or have experience.

I recently started working with Coach Jacob for endurance running and am loving it! He is extremely personal, knowledgeable, and supportive. I've been casually trail running for years and have a growing desire to challenge myself even more. Jacob has helped me become more clear on my goals and come up with a running and strength training program that takes the guesswork out for me. As a busy mom of two, it has been such a gift to open the app each day and have the plan laid out for me. He regularly checks in and responds with relevant and helpful suggestions for any aches and pains I report. He is absolutely delightful to work with and I am very excited for what the next year of running will bring! I highly recommend working with Jacob if you want a personal coaching experience.

I can't say enough great things about Jacob and his group running classes!
Jacob creates an incredibly motivating and supportive environment that is perfect for runners of all levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced runner, he challenges you while keeping it fun and engaging.
The classes are well-structured, with a great mix of technique, endurance, and speed training. What really sets Jacob apart, is he gives personalized tips and encouragement throughout the class, ensuring everyone feels seen and supported.
Beyond the workouts, the group dynamic is amazing, Jacob fosters a sense of community where everyone supports each other. It's a great way to stay motivated and make new friends that share a passion for running!
If you're looking for a coach who is knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in your progress, I highly recommend joining Jacob's group classes or having him as your running coach!

Jacob Oak has revolutionized my approach to running! As a newcomer to ultramarathons, I struggled with recovery after my first two races—experiencing intense pain even while resting and needing a full week to walk normally. Since working with Jacob, my endurance and recovery have improved dramatically. Now, I can run 40 miles and still feel good enough to hit the trails the next day. His guidance has been a game-changer for my performance and post-run recovery!

Jacob is truly a gem! I've been lucky enough to see him work with my partner on getting stronger, learning how to use the gym, and completing 4 ultramarathons (among other races). I personally have taken Jacob's group classes in preparation for the Zumbro 17 mile race, and he not only helped me prepare by gearing the classes toward strength for runners (hello 2400 feet of elevation gain) and what we were all working toward, but he checked in with me on my foot, which had been giving me some trouble. He gave me stretches and other exercises to do at home and it really helped! I also consistently saw him checking in with others on things they were going through from injuries to flexibility to pregnancy and all sorts of stuff.

Jacob freaking cares. He doesn't care how fast or strong you are, but he cares that you learn how to do things the right way and stay healthy. He's already super knowledgeable, and is always learning and will share anything with you to make you better.

Take a class, meet him, go on a community run, whatever. Just get there!

Jacob has been my coach for over two years and has worked with me from what I consider high level of fitness and running to inching my way back to running after a year that was one of my hardest physically and emotionally.

One of the things I love most about working with Jacob is that he is always real and understanding when life gets in the way and is ready to jump back in with you the next day and get back at it. He is willing to share his tough moments in his training along with success making it comfortable for me to do the same.

I highly recommend Oak Endurance and Jacob to anyone who wants a trainer/coach that cares about you beyond just your running goals.

Jacob came recommended to me through the massage therapist I was seeing at the time for some chronic hip pain. I've been seeing Jacob since January and nearly six months later, meeting 2-3 times a week, my hip pain is nearly gone. Plus, I feel so much stronger. Every session, no matter how tough, I leave with a buzz — a massive energy kick!

Jacob is fun, kind, compassionate and knows the body. He'll work with you to assess where you are and where you want to go. He'll also give recommendations for nutrition, gear, and works with you as an individual to move at a pace that works for you and meets you where you are.

The space, the gym is also great. It's filled with natural light, isn't crowded and filled to the max with testosterone. There's a nice, low-key vibe and as a woman, I feel totally at ease and safe. Also, I am not a runner so don't feel like you have to be one to work with Jacob.

To the middle-aged women out there, strength training is where it's at. Talk to your doc first but if you have chronic pain, I recommend strength training. I tried physical therapy, massage, and acupuncture and working with Jacob has made such a difference — inside and out.

We had the good fortune of having Jacob as our trainer for two years. Our goal was general fitness and we are genuinely in the best shape of our lives - in our mid 50's. Jacob assessed our opportunities, both by observation and discussion, to dynamically tailor our workouts, even mid-session. While the workouts were great, he constantly dropped nuggets of information that we could take home - as his view of fitness went beyond our scheduled sessions. Highly receommended!

Saw Jacob for a gait analysis, after dealing with some nagging injuries and wanting to correct any issues with my form. Jacob was able to find 3 key things within my stride for me to work on, with simple instructions to make it easy to integrate into my running. Along with that, had a really helpful discussion around my shoe rotation and uncovered a couple of things, and was able to give me some strength work, and dynamic warm up movements to help correct and improve my specific issues. Overall I’m really happy with the results, and have seen my running and injury recovery improve significantly in the last month since I’ve seen him. Highly recommend Jacob if you’re looking to improve your running form or are tired of nagging, reoccurring injuries. Thank you, Jacob!

I have nothing but good things to say about Jacob Oak… I moved to the Twin Cities a little over a year ago and worked with Jacob for awhile. We ran together a few times at group runs but when I got really into marathon training this winter/spring I reached out to him and asked if I could join him and his friends for some runs and he was quick to welcome me in. I did some track work with him and a few other runners which is very outside of my comfort zone but he was so energetic and encouraging. Jacob has big goals and he also supports others’ big goals. Coach Jacob is great! I’ve only trained with him in group settings and it still feels just as personal as one on one. Somehow, he’s in 10 places at once, personalizing the group workouts for each person and helping people push or regress each workout as they are comfortable. It’s a great way to get a workout in at a very affordable price! Group workouts are always easier for me. I just prefer a group setting, it helps push me when everyone is working hard. But, having the right coach to pick the exact exercises you need and help you do them correctly makes a huge difference. I’m stronger, lighter, faster, and I feel like 30% of that is me putting in the work and 70% is having the right coach telling me what to do!
