I’ve been going to this Planet Fitness for a while and have generally had good experiences. The team members are kind, but a recent visit with a front desk employee who appeared to be a manager, older with black hair, was completely disrespectful, unprofessional, and rude.

My QR code scanned normally, “DING,” and as we started walking in, she called us back over a $50 annual fee that had already been taken from my account but was never disclosed at sign up. Instead of asking us anything, she went on a rant, and we didn’t get a single word in. Her goal was clearly to embarrass us rather than inform us.

We politely said we would return later and were on a time crunch. She yelled, “I’m not done talking,” as we tried to leave. We didn’t argue, gave her another minute of her rant, and quietly left, shocked at how condescending she was.

This location is small and lacks the amenities of other Planet gyms. Planet’s hidden fees are not worth it. A new gym just opened on Burnsville Parkway, and I’ve heard it is amazing. I’ll take my money there, and others should too.

My husband and I really love having the Black Card because it allows us to visit any location. This makes it easy to stick to our routine, even when we’re far from home. We love that we can go to any facility and still get the same great experience, no matter where we are. It makes staying consistent with our workouts so convenient! 🏋️‍♀️💪

I love this place, I could practically live here! it is especially great for beginners or people that are new to the lifestyle. before i signed up, I had a staff member help & show me around. I wish I could remember her name, i believe it was a manager. but anyway, she was very professional & knowledgeable. I was going to get the regular membership but she convinced me to get the black card to save $$ and I gotta say... I am SO happy that I did! the spa area is so nice and i liked it a lot, more than i initially thought i would. she let me try out the hydromassage to see what it was like and boom. sold. haha! I also use the total body enhancement after most of my workouts. wonderful place & atmosphere if it fits your goals & needs!
(btw, I find it to be the busiest between 4pm-6pm weekdays 😉)

The manager at this gym is top notch!! She’s always smiling, energetic, and moving about the gym to ensure the guests have everything they need and are safely able to complete their workouts or use the amenities. She greets me every time I walk in the door and says goodbye every time I leave. The gym is always clean, supplies are fully stocked and weights are always put back in their proper place. Couldn’t be happier with my experience here! Staff is all very friendly as well!

I love going to the Planet Fitness in Burnsville and Bloomington. The staff are very nice. I just wish that you would repair the recombent exercycles in a timely manner. One on Burnsville has been missing a pedal strap for several months. Now one in Bloomington has had a repair sign on it for over a month.😥

I'm a new member and so far my experience has been great. The staff and workout equipment is great as well. The only complaint I have are with members not cleaning the equipment they use after their done. It's not all members, but I have seen a couple of folks not cleaning up after themselves. I would recommend this fitness center!

I usually have a good experience at this Planet Fitness, but I’ve noticed some inconsistencies with how the Black Card amenities are managed. The hydro massage chairs and other exclusive perks aren’t always properly verified, which leads to unnecessary wait times.

There have been times when guests or non-Premium members were allowed to use the equipment for the full time limit while others had to wait. I don’t mind people trying out the amenities, but it would help if there was a better system to keep things fair.

A simple improvement would be that if staff decide to allow guests to try the equipment, they don’t fill up both massage chairs at the same time. Instead, they could send one person to the hydro massage and another to a chair so that there’s always at least one spot open for those with full access.

The staff is friendly, and the gym is well-maintained, but a little more consistency in enforcing the membership perks would make the experience much better.

I go to a lot of different planet fitnesses and this is by far the worst one in the area. One of my main reasons for having a membership here is for the tanning bed services, most of the time I have a great experience, but at this location it is consistently terrible. Most of the staff is very nice, but the manager is completely rude and condescending. All of the past few times I have come here there has been an issue with her for tanning, but this last time prompted me to write a review. I have been tanning for about a year now, but my friend just tried for the first time. First off, she checked her id twice, which is completely inappropriate. You should not be expected to show your id at a place you have a membership at, when you have to provide an id when you sign up. Second off, she has a snarky voice and attitude. She talks down to you and made my friend extremely uncomfortable immediately after making a membership. She wanted me to show her what buttons you have to push, how to do it, etc. The lady followed us into the room and told us two people can’t be in a room at the same time, which is fine, but the door was open and I was clearly showing her how to do it. The last thing I want to mention, is I can tell she is most likely the manager, (or the most annoying coworker ever.) The kind employees are clearly scared of her and are on high alert. I hope that this location improves and these employees find a new job that has a manager that isn’t rude, condescending, and has a power problem. Do better.

The staff are friendly and the equipment is plentiful, but parking for your vehicle and your property is ridiculous. I don't know where all those people are that belong to the cars in the parking lot, but I don't see them inside. The men's locker room is meager to the point where everyone seems crowded into a very small space that is poorly configured for the number of lockers and seats available for the number of people who want to use them at the same time. In spite of the premium add-ons like tanning and hydromassage, this is bare-bones fitness.

The Burnsville MN location offers convenience, cleanliness and very friendly staff. I often see the staff engaging with the cliental in a way that shows that they're genuinely interested in them. Nice. The equipment is newer and very easy to navigate, I love the variety also. As a Black Card holder I enjoy the benefits of the massage chairs and bed. The tanning booths are an extra bonus.

The parking lot is a mess. Just rescued a family member at 5:45PM who couldn’t move because there had been no snow removal all day. Additionally, we saw many other vehicles stuck. Of the dozen Planet Fitnesses I have been to in the past year, this one has members with the strongest thumbs. That is because instead of using the weight equipment, most patrons treat the equipment as chair while they scrub on their phone. Equipment and staff are slightly below average compared to other facilities.
Avoid this one if you want a workout.

Obviously Planet Fitness is an incredible deal. The Burnsville location is the best location I've been to. Jamez provides phenomenal guest service and runs a clean and tight ship.

I actually live close by the Shakopee location and will drive twice as far to go to the Burnsville one. I will no longer be returning to the Shakopee location (that location is 0/5 stars). Shakopee's staff doesn't greet you (just awkward silence), in 16 years of being a gym member it's the only location that has asked me to be gentler with the equipment (again been a consistent gym goer for almost two decades and have never had an issue anywhere else before), their trainer removed me from a Smith machine seemingly because the person that he was more important than my workout...., their ceiling has dripped water since they opened..., and their AC will quit at times during the summer. Huge difference in experience and quality control between the two locations.

This is an anonymous post ( I am not Danny Davis), and I am not planning on speaking to anyone in person, so I hope that this makes it to someone who cares. I appreciate the work that goes into keeping a clean and organized gym. The staff at the Burnsville PF does a good job. The equipment is pretty good. I do, however, have a problem with a couple of gym members. There are 2 bald males with beards who come almost every day around 10:30 AM - 1 PM. They seem to believe that they are more important than everyone else in the place. They wear the same clothes every day and do the same routine. They go into the free weight area and proceed to take over a significant section of the gym. They use multiple flat/incline benches, regardless of the demand. They also take over the decline bench, of which there is only one. If anyone attempts to use any of this equipment, they demand that it be left unattended until they are ready to use it. One of the men also stalks around the free weight area with a very nasty scowl on his face, doing laps in between sets. It looks like he is trying to invade other people's personal space in order to bring on a fight. I also feel a little uncomfortable with the way he looks at my gf and other females at the gym. Today, I saw him tell a tall guy not to use the decline bench when he wasn't even using it. It seems that they feel like they run the place. This goes on for a couple of hours! They also emit a very offensive body odor. I realize that people sweat at the gym, but a little deodorant would be nice. I don't know if they have any connection to the gym. I often see the manager hanging around with them and joking and laughing loudly. So I don't know if they are connected or related in some way... It is a real shame because otherwise, the gym members are extremely polite and respectful... Hopefully, someone will address this because it would be a 5 star review if not for this.

The management staff, particularly Cynthia, are friendly and keep the gym VERY clean. You can tell that all of her staff love working under her and respect her a lot. If a member gets out of line, Cynthia handles it quickly and in a very professional way.

Recent upgrades with equipment and the club in general where needed and are much appreciated.! This said, one item of discontent for me is that both automatic front doors are continually breaking down and not working. In our Minnesota climate, this makes the gym cold in the winter and I can only imagine the costs associated in terms of higher heating bills. For the cost, you could have replaced these doors multiple times in how much heat you have lost!

The other item are the faucets in the men's bathroom. They waste a lot of water in that they don't shut off properly, all of these should all be replaced with automatic faucet's that shut of by themselves. If planet fitness is truly interested in the environment, you would make both of these repairs as soon as possible.

Lastly, the Burnsville club is an inviting and friendly place to work out. I have made several friends there and plan to continue my daily workouts. Thank you.

I really enjoy the team and community at this Planet Fitness. Cynthia and Molly are so friendly, and the whole staff works hard to keep the gym clean. I have found the people at this gym to be friendly. It truly is a “no judgement zone” and it is a fun and safe place to exercise no matter your fitness level. I’ve been to other gyms where I feel I need to have super cool workout clothes and already be toned and in shape to be there, and it is refreshing to be at this Planet Fitness where the vibe is inclusive, comfortable, and welcoming to all.

I am a black card member and enjoy the option of using any gym and the “extras” like massage and meditation. The gym is well equipped and has lots of space so I never feel like I’m working out in crowds. More importantly, Cynthia is an excellent manager and keeps the gym running smooth. this particular planet fitness (the only one i go to) is vary frustrating. as the services that are provided are inconsistent, that i pay 10$ a month for (witch throughout the year is riddled with fees) but more specifically its the showers, witch were closed 3 different times during my past 7 ish months. and in Pf favor they did offer compensation in the form of allowing members to go to other gyms as the place was remodeling. but for the other 2 time there was not any compensation. as someone who relies on Pf for a shower, this makes my life vary difficult epically since i am a teenager and want to be clean and cleanly in the face of others (witch is not Pf responsibility, but i want to make it clear that that is a service i pay my money for witch is not being fulfilled). plus some small stuff like wired business practices for a gym, like a dress code!? serving treats at the counter? its an embarrassment to the gym community.

Great value for the price you pay. They have all of the equipment that you need for a full workout and the machines are always clean. The staff is very friendly, welcoming you and wishing you a great afternoon when you leave.

The only thing that I would like to see changed would be the cancelation policy. I needed to cancel a membership at the Apple Valley location a while back, and it was a much more complicated process than it needed to be.

I love it! Since I joined in August it has been an amazing experience. Always clean. Friendly, helpful staff. I love being a "black card" member for the addl perks such as the massage chair & hydro massage lounge.
You'll want to utilize the app prior to going. Peak times are typically after 3:30p. Going in the early morning hours and mid afternoon is typically a bit slower, and you're able to utilize all of the equipment.

The only downside is that this location doesn't have an onsite personal trainer.

I recently moved to this club, the equipment is all up to date, but the place lacks to a trained staff to welcome customers, especially young staffs as well as attention to cleanliness.
Then there is another important issue, which is that the TV news channel MSNBC is not there, they deliberately sabotaging it. The sound does not work and the picture is distorted. After the complaint, they fix it for several days, then It is back again not work, and the selection of channels is done randomly, to the extent that there are four TVs for one channel. Please fix the TV channels and stop playing with it.

Be careful for the agreement contract. The charged me an annual fee and also when I canceled the agreement they charged a buy out fee $58. The contract I signed said no contract cancel anytime. Why are they charging a buy out fee. I haven't been to planet fitness for months. So this is how planet fitness makes money from all these fees. I always wonder.

Gets the job done and you can't beat 10 bucks a month. Staff is personable without being invasive. There is cleaning being done at all times. I will never pay 100+ dollars for a gym membership again. Burnsville planet fitness uses a horrible back door way of charging there customers, I have not used my membership in over a year my card that I used to get membership has been expired for a year they went into my checking account and charged me an annual fee even tho I’m not using the membership they have not contacted me to confirm I’m no longer coming and that they needed to update my account they literally took what they could and didn’t even try to get the customer back in there to use facilities this is terrible I highly recommend going somewhere else for ur fitness center horrible customer support and never again would I consider them or to anyone else

If you know what your doing for workouts and just need some equipment, this is the place to go. Cheapest and they keep it clean for you. Just be sure to have a lock for your locker. :)

I'm not so happy with them right now. I went to work out on Friday. I put my coat and keys and earbud charger in my locker. I put my lock on my locker and went to work out. I finished after an hour. I went to the locker room only to find my Lock had been cut off my locker, my car keys were gone, and my earbud charger was also gone. That was the least of my worries.
The lady stole my wallet and started my car and was going to steal that.
I had to call 911, and an Officer came and filled out a report.
This is not the first time this has happened at the club. This is the first time it has happened to me.
Planet Fitness knew there was an issue with theft in the women's locker room. They should have posted notes or let everyone know with an email. You can never be too safe. Do not leave your keys in your locker when working out. It is not safe.
I put a lock on my locker and still wasn't safe. If you see something suspicious say something.
