By far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a gym in my life!!!!!!!! For starters we walked in and I was unaware of the no crocs rule which is kinda silly in my opinion because what if I’m working out arms that day, the kind of shoes I’m wearing is quite literally irrelevant but me and my friend where told that we can’t come in here with kinda of shoes and had to go home to get better shoes. Once we came back again we worked out for a bit and after words as we where heading out we both decided to hit the massage chairs ( me and her both have our own black card membership and now at the time have scanned our pass twice, once upon arrival the first time and the second time after coming back with proper shoes). The man at the front desk explained that we both need to have our own pass and we explained we do, we both scanned our own pass when we arrived. He then had his coworkers re check us which alone is quite frustrating but we do so anyway, we scanned our SEPARATE passes and the guy confirmed it and then asked us what we would like to do, we then tell him the massage chairs ( I do want it to be know that the 2nd guy at the desk was respectful) but as the guy goes to set the massage chairs the first guy had yelled something and we had turned around and asked what did he say and he wouldn’t repeat it and just said never mind. We then go to the massage chairs that they told us was ready but only one of them was set so my friend goes back up front to ask them to set the other timer for the second chair, she comes back and we are sitting there for maybe 2 minutes and the 3 rd guys comes back there and started staring at us so my friend asked him what can we help you with he then says which one is the friend and which one is the guest and then now for the 2nd + time we have to explain that we have our own passes and then He leaves and as he is leaving you can hear him yell never mind never mind to his coworker. In all this was just a terrible experience and is unacceptable behavior. What’s the point of having to scan our own passes if your coming to still question us on and on about.

I've been a member of PF of and on for years, and I can't say enough about the staff at this location. Particularly the Gym's manager "Stony." Anytime I've had a minor issue or witnessed others having issues ranging from billing to car troubles....I've watch Stony immediately make problem solving the sincere focus of his attention. His ability to remove others agitations around problem solving is undoubtedly a big reason the place runs so smoothly and the staff always showcases competent comfort and dedication toward the job/people. This along with the places affordability makes it hands down the best gym in the Metroland area! Thanks for being a great gym you-all!!!

They have a great facility! Staff is super kind and they follow the "rule book". Management is legit! They actually take time to get to know names and carry convo. The equipment is a huge plus as they have new machines and everyone in this gym seems to be very respectable. I am in here 5 days a week and they seem to have their machines updated and a wide selection of heavier weights. Never heard a lunk alarm go off and they have people of all fitness levels that can work around eachother without incident. Even in the busy nights or earlier mornings people seem to understand that the machines are for everyone and respect your sets. They have a full circuit area and this gym I seem to like over all. Showers clean and the bathrooms are as well. If you want a comfortable place to learn or just get the basic down this is it. If you have years of experience even better you will fit right in!

Out of all the Planet Fitness gyms in the Twin Cities this one is my favorite and the one I visit the most. The staff are awesome, always friendly and eager to help. The gym is always kept clean and orderly, the bathrooms are always well stocked and cleaned throughout the day. It also has a great atmosphere, I would recommend this gym to any beginner, intermediate, or professional.

I come to this one daily and have never gotten told anything about bringing sandals. Even if those are the rules the guy who told me to leave the gym was rude about it, there’s ways to tell people stuff and I know he doesn’t get payed enough to be the shoe inspector.

I would recommend this gym to anyone. With a 27 dollar a month payment, I tan, get deep tissue massage in the massage chairs or the aqua bed massages and get a great workout. The team that works there is amazing and the gym and locker rooms are always clean and spotless. Try it out! You can cancel at anytime I believe but I do not plan on canceling ever. Jericho and Ant are amazing team members i wanted to give recognition too! I had to edit my review after I found out thier names! They are always upbeat and doing something to make the gym that much better!

I’m writing this review out of love for this location. It’s clean, it’s never super busy, everything is well maintained. I go to this location multiple times a week. The issue is the water. The drinking fountains barely produce any water, usually just dribbling out. I’ve talked to workers, they say they’re trying to fix it. I believe them, but there needs to be a permanent “right now” solution. A gym without water is a problem, and I really hope they can get this sorted.

Update; Returning member, place looks great with the new paint job outside and the new equipment. Cleanliness is hit or miss depending of the time of day. But I know they are doing the best they can being short staffed, busiest time of year. Also with the applicants they get at the wages they start at. Hard to get great help at under $13 dollars an hour at this location. Further update:Alot of these reviewers need to let go of inaccurate statements and situations that happened at the club years ago. Never got a chance to try this location. Wanted to try it out and switch gyms so I went to the website and it instructed me to download the app to get a day pass for a small fee. The app only offered passes in Rochester, so I called and was first told they don't do day passes but was then told I could do a day pass for the same cost as a months membership! That doesn't make any sense. Plus the person on the phone seemed so annoyed to have to be helping me. The whole thing really made me not want to join. I guess they aren't interested in getting new members at this location. Oh well.

First visit so was a little nervous but the staff was friendly and helpful. It was quite large and the crowd meter indicated it was peak workout time but there were plenty of machines available to do all the things, even though the parking lot was visibly full. Equipment that I used worked well. Parts that I was in were clean.

I was pleasantly surprised with Planet Fitness when I joined a few weeks ago! Full Transparency, I thought that for the price...it was going to be kind of a...an unkept place, poor quality machines, perhaps not as clean, etc. But after joining (with a referral code from a friend) I was blown away! I decided to join the Black Card membership which offers tanning, massage chairs, hydro-massage beds, etc and I'm super impressed! The amount of cardio they have is incredible, so no one is EVER waiting for a machine! They mostly have 2 sets of every strength machine and then a wide variety of free weights too! It truly is a great gym with a great vibe! The staff at Columbia Heights is pretty cool too, I've made some friends that's for sure!

Staff are extremely friendly, welcome you as you come in and say goodbye to you on the way out. Cleanest gym that I have ever been in, maintained exceptionally well. Sanitation stations are always fully stocked with paper towels and not one, but TWO bottles of cleaning solution. Employees are constantly walking around the club neatening things up. Locker rooms are clean and stocked with adequate supplies as well. Honestly could not ask for a better experience in a gym! And the best part... the price is MOST DEFINITELY right. This Planet Fitness is flooded with fake reviews. This location is definitely not a 4 star location. Where to begin? Lazy Employees, Dirty Gym, Parking Lot not well maintained, Terrible business hours, and poorly maintained gym. So before I begin I will address the new machines they added. Sure that is great but does not make up for the overall quality of this Planet Fitness. I been coming to this gym for years, not because I love Planet Fitness, but because of the location that it is at; close to my home, surrounded by businesses, etc. However, this gym lacks good employees, I have met some amazing employees over the years but the best have gone on to do amazing things. For the past year the turn around on employees were some of the lowest quality. Employees are low in morale, constantly looking down on people, do not put any effort in their job role and responsibility, poorly keep locker room/bathroom clean, rarely keep napkins and clean supplies in the gym restocked, always hide from the front desk, get upset if they have to close and people want a last minute workout, believe management here needs to really evaluate their standards to improve employee efforts here, or at least have a manager present for a few days/weeks during the three shifts they might have to improve quality here. I would go on but my Review would become an essay. Fix the employee and cleaning issues here please. - "Valued Gym Patron"

This location is the worst. An EMPLOYEE (young latina woman) stole my designer boots from the locker room. She rushed me out cause it was almost closing time and I forgot to grab them. The employee was the last one in the locker room because they do a scan/check for items left behind. I came back the next morning and they said they didn’t have them.
On a separate occasion, I called management about a billing mistake they made and almost overdrew my account. I was told by an employee at PF my account was clear and no further payments would be taken….then days later, they took another payment. The manager at this location spoke to me very unprofessionally, promised to call me back after speaking with his higher ups, then never returned my call. This location is definitely “at your own risk” environment. Go to Blaine gym, they’re bougie up there and actually have some class in their customer service skills.

Pretty solid gym for such a cheap membership. It gets pretty busy during the afternoon rush (like most gyms) but Its not the worst thing ever, and it is to be expected. I dont mind sharing. I DO wish people would re-rack in the proper spots every time but it could definitely be worse... I will now present my pro's and con's of this gym.

Pro's:
Super cheap! I mean come on, its basically free!!
Location for me, yes I know this is specific, but location was great for me.
Staff is great. They are welcoming when you arrive and never seem salty, even though I be salty from workin' up a sweat! (literally, not figuratively. I am nice, hehe)
Fairly Clean equipment, though sometimes the machines stay broken for a decent amount of time

Con's:
Very limited lifting equipment. Only smith machines for barbell exercises, which kinda sucks, plus they only have 4 of them so they're always full and I usually have to wait... bummer, because they have a thousand treadmills that never get fully used.
No Erg(rowing machine) I love the erg because i used to row but other PF locations have their weird version of them at least.

Overall, I give this 4 stars, but would really like to give it 3.75 because at least for me, it lacked equipment so I might upgrade soon for that reason alone. IF all you are after is the more basic stuff, its a great gym for you and very affordable, so for that reason, I recommend it. If you wanna get hard core, maybe look for a bigger gym with more weight training stuff, or pool/sauna, etc.

I showed up to work out with my fiancé! We do this all the time when he gets off work. Never had an issue. We just click the card and go in. Today there was some heavy set lady at the desk with a messy bun having a power trip! She insisted that we needed to go into the app (which neither of us have) and sign in as a guest. We have never in our year of working out together had to do this. No problem tho if it’s policy. So as we are trying to do this she keeps rudely insisting we sit down (there was no line) we decided to sit down and avoid confrontation. While we are trying to navigate the app she is continually speaking to us with an attitude about us using the app. The whole time she is giving me dirty looks continuously. She then proceeds to sit at the desk talking to a (male) coworker about how women are always jealous of other women and at that point I felt judged and attacked! We finally finished in the app and walked in and she screamed at my fiancé that he needs to change his address from the state he lives most of the time so she can help with his account mind you nothing was wrong with his account. The whole encounter made me question the integrity of planet fitness because we should not as regular paying customers be subjected to that type of treatment.

Being a member for sometime l was disappointed on Friday 5/5/23 with Tiny the receptionist at the entrance. She needs to be couched on how to deal with members politely. I was not happy by her rudeness. I was there with my wife and my son. I had my wife watch my son while l workout. After l checked in she deleted my check in. When l asked why she deleted she refused. And she told me that l wouldn’t workout because my son was there with my wife and kids are not allowed in gym. I showed her a posting stating “if unattended” but still refused me to workout and l had to leave. I feel this is form of discrimination which is not fair at all.

It's too hot in this gym, it's like working out outside in 90degree weather in mn.
Please do something, LA is alot cooler.
