Love my Mankato Planet Fitness. I signed up with them 8/3/22, and my first workout was on 8/18. I never have been to a gym before in my life, I should have started a long time ago. Great atmosphere, music playing in the gym, or bring your headphones/earbuds and listen to your own; very clean equipment in great working condition; very open floor plan (many treadmills, ellipticals, two rowing machines, cycles, 3 Smith machines, many dumbbells of varies weights, 3 cable towers, and individual equipment that work your arms, legs, abdominal, back, and glutes); separate Express 30 min workout room (if you want a quick workout); there is a stretch room; and PF 360 room (contains other pieces of equipment besides the standard equipment and dumbbells).
There are locker rooms for both men and women. Both contain lockers (bring your own lock and must take your stuff after you finish at the gym, no leaving your belongings behind), benches, restrooms, showers (women's has 4, bring your own supplies and towels), and changing stalls (women's has 3).
If you are a black card member: this location has 2 massaging chairs, 2 Hydromassage beds, total body enhancement machines, and tanning beds. I have used both the chair and the bed: I love both, especially after a hard workout.
The staff is friendly and will answer any questions, comments, and concerns. They can offer to give you a tour of the gym, especially if you are new to the experience.
Parking: This gym is located in a plaza with other stores, parking in the early morning is easy but as the day goes on....it can become packed.
Truck Drivers: There are no semi truck parking signs in the lot. I have seen bobtails here. Just beware, park at your own risk. You can park your bobtail across Sioux St in the other plaza parking lot early morning but it's recommended to be out by 10 am.
Overall: Great gym, staff, equipment, location. Highly recommended!!!
Cons: I wish they had longer hours, especially on the weekends: open earlier and stay open later. Also, I wish they had fans in the PF 360 and the 30 min express rooms, no air movement and have benches in the two changing rooms instead of chairs.

Great place to get in, workout, and move on with your day. The equipment is in great shape and the staff are helpful. I've been in gyms all of my adult life (I'm 60+) and this one has all the equipment I need to stay fit and healthy. It's not a gym that you're going to be doing dead lifts, clean and jerks etc as they don't have any barbells but at this stage of my life, I'm not interested in lifting heavy anyway . . . just staying fit. Finally, I was notified via email when they reopened and it was posted on their website which I was checking periodically anyway.

It is a good location with good equipment. It is also clean and MOST of the staff are friendly, especially the weekend crew - the weekend crew around 10:00 - 3:00 are amazing. The morning weekday crew are a little indifferent to customers and forget the perks of black card members. You pay the extra layer of a premium to have some type of greeting and your discounts applied without having to remind people. Finally, there does need to be some leadersip presence around the free weights where people hangout and break about every rule that is on the mointors and posted on the walls. Specifically, scrolling through phones and not working out for prolonged periods. This is especially the case on weekends. All and all a good location with room for customer-centered adjustments.

Great machine selection, friendly staff, no wait for tanning beds or machines and they are so helpful. Plus the location I use has lots of windows which I love, I am not a fan of gyms being in a basement or lack of windows and being dark. I also like their massage chairs and hydro bed. Very relaxing!

I’ve been to many Planet fitnesses through out the US and out of the many I’ve been to I enjoy this one the most. The staff are always friendly and kind and willing to take any equipment or workout questions you may have and they always wish myself and others to have a great workout and a nice day! Besides that management seems wonderful, with keeping the place clean and tidy and making sure everyone is feeling comfortable and happy. I had one small complaint which the manager handled very quickly and made sure I didn’t have any other issues to make sure I was happy. Great place and great people 10/10

The value you get for the price of a membership at Planet Fitness is unbeatable. They provide an amazing community service by providing a healthy resource for the average person. That being said the equipment at this location is very average relative to the multiple other sites I've been to in the Twin Cities and Rochester. The other locations have a more varied, higher tech assortment of equipment in my humble opinion.

Came in for front desk assistance 2/24 5:30. I have no issue waiting for service ever!!! (I totally understand working in customer service ) however staff member never said hello, I’ll be right with you, or anything at all just pretended like I wasn’t there. She continued to vacuum the rugs I was standing on as I moved out of the way for her. After 5 minutes of not being Acknowledged I just left.

Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I went in there on November 27th stating that I would like to pay everything to get my account completely caught up because there was issues in the past with payments not going through because I have the ability to lock my card when my card is locked and they can't take the payment. It drafts for a whole week so by the time it stops drafting and they try to take the payment again. The card is already locked again so I went in to clear all of that up and switch the account to have a card on file that does not lock. So when they take the account payment it goes through every time. After paying everything they said I was owed to catch up my account and nothing would be owed until the next billing cycle which is December 17th. I left in good standings. I come back on December 10th to be told that I have an outstanding balance and the manager says the only thing he can do for me is take a payment but not take accountability. That is his employees fault that my account is not up to date. How hard would it be to comp one month for a customer who hardly uses the gym. Another factor of the situation is it's the holiday seasons and I'm trying to budget my bills for the month. So when I come in on the 27th to catch everything up so that I know that I don't owe another $26 until December 17th and be prepared to make payment on time. I would also like to point out that I only stepped foot inside this gym at most four times a month

During my only visit to this gym one member took a selfie near me in the women's locker room and another was on a videocall while walking into the locker room. Otherwise club was fine, but I don't want to be in the background of others images while in the locker rooms at the gym.

I do like the idea of a judgment free gym for those who are not in ideal shape.

The staff are super friendly. A simple scan of your phone to sign in. The gym is kept very clean(accept the selfish people who can’t seem to clean the equipment after themselves). They have multiple cleaning stations around the gym so you can clean equipment conveniently and quickly. The locker rooms have nice hot private showers and large and smaller lockers(bring your own lock). The bathrooms are always kept clean incase you gotta poop. If you’re a black card member they also include standup and lay down tanning, massage, and hydro massage.

Pros: fun and safe environment to work out in! It’s a great place for beginners and is usually really clean and staff is very friendly!

Cons:A lot of my friends including myself wish it was back to 24/7 because of my tight schedule, I had switched gyms to planet fitness because it was a 24 hour gym but this location no longer does 24 hours and has me reconsidering other options for flexibility.
The stretch /abs area is also kind of a small area to do any stretching especially during peak busy hours. Other than that it’s a great gym and really recommend it to others!

I have been a member of Planet Fitness for quite some time. As I travel frequently throughout the country, I do take advantage of the establishments. Particularly the Mankato facility.
Bad: From my last visit last fall, a showerhead is still broke (but serviceable), the same stall door is broke (will not close completely), no shelving in two of the changing booths (or somewhere to sit), some of the equipment have been moved off of their pads, there are also signs of wear and tear as well as corrosion evidence.
Good: Inspite of all the minor discrepancies, the equipment and facility is still serviceable.
I have met a few staff members that were friendly who do take the time to stop and chat. And there are others who seem robotic (it is after all, their job)
Honorable mention: Daelynn seem to be the only staff member I've observed constantly staying productively busy by cleaning, wiping down common areas and equipment, and cleaning stations. And still take the time to visit with patrons which provides a friendly atmosphere.
She needs to be commended for her efforts as representing the face of Planet Fitness! My hats off to her!

All the equipment is basically brand new or very well up kept. This place has free weights, machines, and cardio equipment all in an open concept. There is a couple smaller rooms for those that don't feel comfortable in the open. This gym in the past always had a bad reputation with my friends and I because we were all afraid of the "lunk alarm" however it's been weeks now and I've never heard that go off even one time. The music is upbeat and you don't get everyome else's workout noise with it. Overall a pretty good gym. No real complaints here anymore.

I was hesitant about joining planet fitness but my friend convinced me to. It wasn't a wrong decision! I love Planet Fitness for the wide variety of equipments that's available, friendly behavior of staffs, huge space for workout as well as locker room, and last but not the least, it's very affordable.

I recommend you to join Planet Fitness if you don't want to pay high membership fees but still get high quality experience on your journey to fitness.

I accidentally signed up for the wrong gym which is my bad. I went in and talk to someone about getting a refund and they told me that that was totally doable and to call back if I had any issues with the refund. when I called back I ended up getting in touch with the manager. First of all, I had no idea that they had reopened, I was only made aware when I saw the charge on my bank statement. When I called to cancel, I was told I had to send in a letter or appear in person to do so, and the person with whom I spoke was very rude and not the least bit helpful. The reason I originally chose to cancel had nothing to do with the gym itself (see Covid19), and I planned on renewing my membership once it was safe to do so again, but after being talked down to by the condescending towel folder at the front desk, I'll never go back
