Place is fine until something breaks and then it takes forever to get repaired. Water fountains have been down for weeks with no repair in sight. Started giving free bottles of water away in the meantime but now have stopped that claiming they are out of those as well, highly doubtful….

Gross! Bunch of high school kids running around. They don't wipe down machines or re-rack weights after using machines so you have to add about 20 minutes to your workout to clean and reset each section. Lazy staff as well. Paper towels dispensers are regularly out and bathrooms are gross...Needs a reset!!

I've been a member of Planet Fitness for a while now, and I'm consistently impressed with the experience. It's a fantastic gym, especially for those looking for a comfortable and non-intimidating environment to work out.

One of the things I appreciate most is the clean and well-maintained facility. The equipment is always in good working order, and the staff does an excellent job keeping everything tidy. The "Judgement Free Zone" philosophy truly shines through; everyone is focused on their own fitness journey, creating a very welcoming atmosphere.

If I could give a ZERO i would. Been two times to this location in the last year to tan. Both times the beds were DIRTY and they tried to pass them off as clean. Then they stuck me in a bed with burnt out bulbs. Today i asked to go full time but the worker set my time for 7 mins instead. Both times i brought things to her attention (both the bed being dirty- hair all in the bed, and the bed stopping before the full time was used) and her response to both was "weird." This location lacks cleanliness at the least. I will NOT be returning.

Easy sign up via silver sneakers.

The app download was a breeze which provides a QR code daily for access.

They even have VIP section with massage chairs, heat booths, water massage, etc.

I usually show up between 7:00 and 9:00 am.

Easy parking, easy entry, front desk staff are friendly. Free classes for various training needs.

As with all businesses, staffing is limited for training classes.

I like the place both winter and summer. TV monitors are plentiful and music is decent.

Headphones or ear buds are a must if you want to stay focused.

Most members are friendly and follow the rules with a few habitual rule breakers who think they can do anything. (Common actions from "rules are for sheep" crowd)

Example, those of us who use the 30 minute workout area just to do a single exercise. (Newsflash - the 30 minute area is for those of us doing the 30 minute workout. Read the sign at the entrance.)

Then there are the use the equipment and not wipe it down gang .... I just can't wait to wallow in your body excretions! (guessing they are the not wash your hands after bathroom use gang) Again read the signs!

Oh yeah, Americans don't or can't read anymore, oops I forgot, so I guess this post is simply a gesture in futility.

My guess is they know better but they know they will not be corrected - God forbidden they burn calories cleaning up after themselves!

In closing, I like the place, I appreciate the equipment is regularly maintained for the stuff I use.

It works for me, but is not for everybody.

June 2025 - the habitual line steppers are still at it, leaving waits anywhere, sitting and watching videos after using the equipment. I just don't get. Get off the equipment when you are done. If you want to text do so OFF of the equipment!

The employees at this location are LIT. Every time I've been here, I've been greeted by every single person working. I visited planet Fitness a few days ago when I was in town and happened to be driving by.

The Manager there was AWESOME and he gave me a tour of the facilities. (I can't remember his name). The Manager and his staff were very friendly as well. This planet fitness location is better than most however they need to take the time to walk the floor and put things back because people are moving the benches all over the place as well as they need to mark the dumbbell locations all the other Planet Fitness I’ve been to will have the weight location marked on the weight rack so that the weights go back to the same location, people are just putting the weights in any open space so you spend way too much time having to look around to find the weight that you want.

One of the nicest Planet Fitness in the metro. I move around for work, so I have visited quite a few of them for my morning workouts.

Haven't been here in a few months. I did notice some of the machines last time I was there the pads were starting to crack. They have been replaced since then.

However they do need to adjust the men's room stall doors, they barely latch. And some of the towel hooks are missing in the showers.

You can do better Minnetonka Planet Fitness! I was so excited to check out this new location. I travel the country and have been in many different Planet Fitness locations, my first impression of this one was subpar. Upon walking in, the employee had his back turned to me and was playing on his phone. I asked about the different tanning beds and he was pretty uneducated in explaining the differences, in the end he talked to me into the hybrid one with a shake plate, which did not even work (the shake plate). Upon entering the dressing room I was disgusted by how dirty the floor was. Not what I was expecting from this location!

I've been a member for over a year. I am 70, and as part of Medicare Silver Sneakers, my membership is free, but I also bought the Black Card upgrade. I LOVE it here! First, the machines are beautifully self explanatory, each having images of muscles worked and how to use and adjust the weights. Plus, there are 2.5 pound increments, which, for a woman who weighs just 100 lbs, are essential for growth. The staff is friendly, cordial, and super helpful. I took the new member orientation class a few weeks after arriving, and got all my questions answered about things I could not figure out for myself. I love the hot hydro massage tables, and the Total Body pod, and am happy to pay for my Black Card to access those things. New things can be intimidating, but PF Minnetonka at Ridgedale makes it easier to adjust and adapt. Heartily recommend!

Although I live in Loretto, I make the drive to come to the Ridgedale location because of how comfortable I feel at this Planet Fitness. The staff is SO friendly and helpful! They always have a warm greeting (always addressing me and fellow gym members by first name before we even scan/check in). They make the effort to remember us all and always have welcoming smiles and friendly conversations, remembering our specific interests even -which really makes this feel like a space where we’re surrounded by genuinely kind and judge-free, caring individuals who are there to support us in becoming healthier individuals. The friendly salutations they offer upon walking in automatically boosts my mood and motivation that I made the right choice to go to the gym that day. I feel supported along my fitness journey at this location as I work on becoming a healthier and happier version of myself! This gym not only has all the machines I am preferable to, but it also has incredible perks - the PF Black Card membership is such a great deal especially when considering all that it includes! This is the only gym I’ve ever been able to stay consistent with returning to and I really believe it’s because of the wonderful staff and the great vibes from fellow members! I highly recommend this gym and talk it up so much that my sister even committed to a membership and has been becoming a healthier version of herself as well. Sucks they installed the tiny drains in the showers though though I've been to dozens of PF and the trough ones stay clean the tiny drains clog and don't get the hair so it ends up being pretty gross in the shower areas.

UPDATE: given the positive response of the owner, I'm going to change my stars and give them a chance. If the listed hours do not match up with the actual open hours again though, I'm going to switch my change back and leave it.

This is the second Monday in a row that I’m looking for an open planet fitness really early in the morning. Same as last week: Google and the planet fitness website both say this Ridgedale location is open 24 hours on Monday. Last week I actually went there and it was fully closed and locked. This morning I called instead of heading over, and after calling over and over, there’s no one there answering the phones.

I left a pleasant message last Monday asking for a call from the manager. That didn’t happen, and the hours were magically changed to state they didn’t open until 5:00 am on Mondays.

Yet here we are, only one week later, and the same nonsense is taking place.

We've twice visited this location to attempt to sign up our 16-year-old and have twice been subjected to incredible rudeness by the manager on duty, who gave erroneous information the first time that the parent would have to take out the membership and transfer it to the youth, plus attend sessions with them. When we looked up the policy on youth members and returned to pay, they then lied and said they had given us that information the first time. When we pointed out that wasn't true, they called two members over to "witness" the conversation as if we were some kind of danger. I left in tears and cannot express how awful it is to be treated that way. At no point were we out of order in the way we expressed our confusion over the information given. The manager was unpleasant, hostile, badly informed and a terrible ambassador for the brand.
