So I had issues with telling an employee in person that I was moving and wanted to cancel my membership. Didn’t notice I was being charged still so clearly they didn’t do it. So I called again a few weeks ago, spoke to someone who said a manager would call back. Spoke to the guy about cancelling YET AGAIN, and he kept pushing asking why I wanted to cancel and all this crap. I told him I’m not driving an hour from my new house to the gym everyday. I want it canceled. So he claims he did end of story right? Wrong! I got charged AGAIN today. So I had to call Elk River. Thank god someone there actually wanted to do their job and help me. I’m not sure if planet gets commissions or bonuses or ratings for active memberships and that’s why they lied and kept charging me after 2 interactions about canceling but be careful. It’s about as hard as cancelling a membership with no customer service contact info. Ridiculous! Big thanks to Elk River location manager, for doing what St.Clouds manager wasn’t competent enough to do.

Past member. I came into Planet Fitness one day to find the 30 minute circuit training, which is ideal for all over body health and wellness, was removed, and replaced with the large platform weights. Planet Fitness claimed to be a fitness center for everyone, not just body builder types. Appears they are leaning towards being just a lifting gym again with no regard for women and middle aged .

They just updated their equipment, and now this gym is top tier. They are one of the few locations to get full platform squat racks, and I can tell you that as long as you are respectful with your lifting, you can deadlift/snatch/etc. The facilities are always very clean. The employees are very busy keeping everything clean and functional. I wish this was my home club. I can always get any workout I want done.

The St. Cloud location has had its ups and downs in my assessments. When I first transferred here, I was disappointed in the condition of the facility. It seemed poorly managed and run down compared to the much more urban, over populated club I had come from. I'm not sure if management changed shortly after but within months, it seemed the St. Cloud location had changed.

When I had concerns about certain behaviors by his staff, the manager Phil, attempted to reach me immediately. He not only attempted one time but in fact, several times over the next few weeks until we connected. Ever since we connected, Phil has made it a point to check in with me from time to time. That was over a year ago.

The changes have now elevated this club to my expectations and the customer service to above expectation.

I did a survey through email and I apologize for the rating. A staff member contacted me to follow up and gain clarity. Overall it was a great location I gave one bad score in previous survey because the location to me, felt hotter than most locations I’ve visited. Everything 10/10.

I’m a truck driver so parking is the first concern and there is street parking available so that’s not an issue. Showers are hot, water fountain cold, and all the equipment is present and maintained. Good location and hopefully I’ll be back

The facility is Very Clean! The manager is very knowledgeable about health and nutrition and assisted and educated me. It really helped me out! He also recommended one of their personal trainers which was a big help to keep me motivated. I'm extremely excited to start my fitness journey here. Also the manager is very respectful and nice. I think Planet Fitness is a good gym! They have all you need! You have the extra help from videos and the employees! The cost is decent! The location is great. I hope they add other things in the future, like a small kitchen would be awesome, or a sauna or a cold tank. Maybe a ninja warrior course! I know, crazy idea, but it would be awesome!

This morning I walked in I check in same time every morning , but the person in front did not scan his phone so I watched for a while & two more people after that never checked in r scanned there phones not sure why several times a week this is happening& me and a few requests have discussed this Why ? what is my safety at risk ? The front desk staff with the long hair that works overnights is exceptional with his customer service he is both patient friendly and knowledgeable the only reason I didn't give five stars is because many of the red light therapy bulbs were out in a need to be changed for quite some time I think maybe 2 to 3 weeks before they were finally changed otherwise the rest of the club is 100% the best

Policy requires me to be in person to cancel membership. So I cancelled the card.

Now they’re saying without paying balance they’ll continue to charge me a membership fee regardless of if I want to be a member or not unless it’s paid.

I live 40 min away and could not come in to cancel.

Well, it’s cleaner than the Minneapolis location. I mean, the bar is pretty low in that respect lol. But I appreciate it. I don’t feel like I’m gonna get sick from walking in the front door. But a lot of the equipment is designed for ONLY tall people so I guess if you’re shorter than 5 ft 7, SCREW YOU! As a short person it’s super annoying. Like oh, I guess I’m not allowed to do calf extensions because I’m only 5 ft 3 🤨
I mean, the one in Minneapolis has a seat that slides back and forwards like the seats in a car do, this one just goes up and down so if you have short legs you’re SOL. The back extension is the same way, the shortest adjustment available is still so tall it doesn’t sit right at the hip hinge, it’s way up on my stomach which is really uncomfortable. I had to put a weight on the foot plate to give it a little more height and it kinda helped but it’s still not right for my foot placement because it’s not wide enough but two weight plates side by side would just fall on the floor bc they rest on the middle support thingy.

I do like that they have 2 sets of barbells tho, and idk how many smith machines but it’s definitely more than Mpls has. And I haven’t gotten back to my full workout routine since moving up here but I wanna say 4 cables? It didn’t appear there were any lines to use the cables, from where I was working out, anyway. I hate when I have to work in with someone and they take way too long for their sets. I do like that they seem to have plenty of equipment for everyone. They don’t have any yoga balls, tho…

I’ve been going here for years and it continues to go down hill. It is frustrating when people are not at the front desk or anywhere to be found. I went tonight at 1am and homeless people are sleeping on machines. I wanted to use two machines, but could not because of people sleeping in them. I searched all over the gym to find a worker, could not find one. I completely understand the staffing crisis, but then there needs to a transition to key fobs so people are not able to just walk in and sleep, when others are paying to use these machines.

I have been planet fitness member for quite some time and had the chance to visit more than 10 states and the front desk personnel were good and welcoming. In St. Cloud MN there is one staff that forces me to have the App, which I don’t like downloading. The worst thing of all he documents every time I don’t have my card! He keeps record and tracks clients and forces me to have! I am no longer considering being a member because of this.
