I have been visiting Pro Fitness for over a year. In that time the effects of injuries to my shoulder and knee have been reduced. I have lost weight and kept it off. Overall, I feel much better physically and mentally and appear to be in much better shape than others my age. Kurt's workouts have had a very positive effect and recommend Pro Fitness to anyone, regardless of current physical condition or athletic ability. My wife is also an active attendee of Kurt's workouts and has had excellent results.

I highly recommend PFT to anyone looking to get in shape and/or recover from injury! After an injury I worked with Kurt 1 on 1 to regain my lost mobility. He did such and amazing job helping me rehab that I was then able to join his regular training classes. The classes are engaging and the community is very supportive! Check them out!

Working with Kurt and Pro-Fitness is great! Doctor wanted me to lose weight before he’d operate on hernia that I had. Kurt’s workouts were effective and worked around my hernia. Pro Fitness and ChiroFit have worked together to fix my chronic back pain and limited mobility. This has been on-going for 10 plus years as the result of 4 back surgeries. Then in October 2023 I cracked 4 more vertebrae.

I would have written this review sooner, but wanted to give the new 'routines' a full month to be sure. I'm still pain free at least 95% of the time where before it was a 50/50 proposition. While my back still gets tired it, doesn't hurt like it used to. Think of the difference between running killers and trying to run on an injured leg.

Here's a list of activities in the last few days all of which would have caused pain just a month ago.
Fri - 3 hours replacing deck boards where a tree limb punched a hole in the deck.
Sat & Sun - Walked 18 holes at Chaska Town Course. (5 miles pushing a golf cart each day)
Mon - Placed and set concrete paving circles (about 40 lbs each) including digging and leveling earth to set them at the proper depth.
Tue - Chainsaw work for 2-3 hours both in a tree and on the ground .

During the golfing whenever it felt like something was getting too tight I stretched it. I also made a point of stretching on all the even number tee boxes. (Part of the new routine.) By the 36th hole I was still able to draw the ball and complete my swing. Something I haven't been able to do in the last 5 years for a full 18 holes much less two days in a row.

Bottom line...I haven't been able to put this much pain free stress on my back in 13 years. I appreciated your advice and willingness to work with me.

Best gym I have ever been to. The owner is friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, understanding and down to earth. He makes working out fun. Adding movements to make you feel like a kid again. He is great with modifying workouts for all skill levels. I went to this gym full time 12 years ago and sadly moved out of state. Whenever I am back in town I always come here. It is a wonderful friendly place where you feel like family.

LONG REVIEW BECAUSE IT’S NECESSARY:
I have done everything from CrossFit to Pilates to Kickboxing to Cycling over the course of my health and fitness journey. While they all have attributed positively to me reaching my goals in their own way, none have gotten me THERE like Kurt’s training at Pro Fitness Training.

I attend classes 5 days per week, and am closing in on Month 3. I am seeing significant RESULTS I didn't see from the other places. So far, he has helped me to see significant improvement in my mobility, endurance, strength capabilities, and I am leaning out in body mass the healthy way. Kurt’s method is tried and proving to be highly effective.

He is highly skilled, attentive and encouraging. No cookie cutter routines here. Kurt actually takes the time to curate workouts that target areas in which he knows his members need to strengthen and condition. He even sends you regular emails with nutrition tips and encouraging words to keep you going on the right track. I SO appreciate him for not treating his members like a number but an actual person whose health and fitness matters. Thanks Kurt!!! YOU’RE THE BEST!!!

FYI, I have never left a review for any gym EVER in my life. So, this should tell you how much of a positive and significant impact Pro Fitness Training is making in my life. I had a pretty significant knee injury almost a year ago. After working with another facility for PT - I was not satisfied with my progress. I went to ProFitness Training to help me regain the strength and mobility in my knee. After just a few months of working with Kurt, I am now able to do stairs without pain, and my range of motion and strength in the knee has improved significantly. He provided me with unique exercises that built the muscles throughout my leg and body. He takes a holistic approach to training which I really appreciate. Pro Fitness is hands down the best place I've ever worked out. I've never really loved going to the gym and felt very out of place. Since joining Pro Fitness, I have never felt anything other than love and support every time I enter the building. I used to do personal training with Amy, who was AMAZING but has moved on in her life journey. Kurt is the owner and so clearly passionate about what he does and how he provides a space for people to grow and learn in a variety of ways. I have started doing the group classes and LOVE them but usually go to the 11
:30 class which is usually smaller than the other ones. I cannot reccomend Pro Fitness enough, to anyone their journey to becoming stronger.

I came to Kurt 3 months ago with pretty broken down body/ back from years of wear/tear. He told me Jeff, we'll get through this! Movement is the key. He shared his heartfelt story with me and in that moment it clicked. Movement is the key. I have a physically demanding job, so I'm constantly moving which coincides perfectly with what he's teaching. From primitive animal movements ( crazy stuff ) to kettle bell exercises and everything in between. The best part about Kurt's classes and the man himself, is he's constantly changing it up based on his students reactions to the different exercises he has set. When I'm in the class and surveying the layout, I see him and how he's so focused in on HIS students! He genuinely cares for his students, that is evident. I can't say enough good things about how his class. It has changed my life! This is a lifestyle change and one I should have done years and years ago.

Can't say enough good things about Profitness--Its one of a kind and a gem! This is a family owned small business. Kurt, the owner, and Coach Amy are the kindest, most motivated, and cheerful coaches I have ever met. I received personal training from Amy and also attended group classes led by both coaches as well. Both trainers are kind and approachable--no drill sergeant mentality. They will meet you where you are in your fitness journey. In classes, although it is a group setting both coaches do an amazing job at keeping a pulse on each individual. In group classes, Kurt seemed to be aware of and know each person so though you were in a group setting, it felt like a private session because you got individual attention! The man is a plethora of knowledge in any aspect pertaining to health wellness and fitness! I also appreciated Kurt's generous feedback and recognition if he ever was in the gym or even walking by during a personal training session with Amy.

Amy was my personal trainer and I saw her twice weekly. She is hands down the best personal trainer I've ever had and she became a friend over time. Amy is incredibly knowledgeable in strength & mobility as it pertains to fitness. She is always learning new things and setting an example as she challenges herself. It was very motivating to see Amy completing her own workouts in our group classes as well. I appreciated how validating Amy was--if something doesn't feel right or if I was confused or overwhelmed, Amy was right there ready willing and able to coach me through it by explaining, demonstrating, or even encouraging. She gets to know you and your individual needs and your personal goals...knows just how far she can push you safely. I left my sessions feeling empowered and successful. Amy also encouraging you to listen to your body and share any concerns so she can help you find solutions whether it be modifications, additional exercises or stretches. Amy came prepared and had a plan for every single one of my sessions having considered what we accomplished previously, where we are heading, considering recommendations my chiropractor from next door gave her, and investing her own personal time outside of our sessions ahead of time to create the right plan just for me. She planned my individual workout for me and I saw her commitment and dedication in doing the same for every single one of her clients. Her availability and followup were impeccable--only a text away, understanding, and never annoyed, distracted, or too busy.

My experience at Profitness with Amy & Kurt has been life changing. These people are genuinely vested in each member and their well-being. Cant say enough good things about Profitness--Invest in yourself and go check them out!!!

Had my first class this evening and I want to describe it as a fitness class that is built around proper body movements and mechanics while getting your heart rate elevated. Some weights but the focus is definitely on proper movement and controlling your body.

Just show up consistently and Kurt and Amy will improve your mobility/flexibility and strength over time in a sustainable way in a positive atmosphere. This isn't a Bro gym and isn't like the cross-fit cults out there (my experience has been cross-fit leads to a lot of injuries for many people).

My strength, mobility/flexibility, and physique have dramatically improved over the 3.5 years I have been attending cross. Just show up!

I can't say enough good things about the trainers Kurt and Amy at Pro Fitness Training. They are very aware of what people are doing during the group training sessions. They are quick to offer help with form, or an alternative exercise if needed. The workouts are designed to promote strength, flexability, and cardio. Kurt and Amy will notice that some people need more mobility or strength in a certain area, and an exercise promoting that will be included in subsequent training sessions. I don't think I've ever seen trainers that observant! The goal of each training session is not to grind you into dust or make you puke. If you want that, you can do that. The main goal is to push you to be better than your last workout, and to accomplish your health goals. The change I've seen in myself in 9 months of training have far exceeded my expectations. I'm fitting into clothes I have not worn for 10 years. PFT is THE place to get and stay healthy.

I've been going to Pro Fitness for over 3 years now. I originally walked into this gym using it as a tool to stay sober. I was met with warmth and encouragement from Kurt. Having been an athlete all my life and at a "pause" from doing any form of exercise, I walked out of my intro session feeling like I still got it. I started personal training with Amy and after 3 years, I consistently go 4 days a week. I am always greeted with a smile and hello from Kurt, and the boundless energy of Amy is contagious. She's motivating, immediately corrects me if I'm in the wrong form, and most importantly has empathy. There are hard days and easy days but I always leave my workouts, a little more sweaty, a better attitude, and immense appreciation and gratitude from this gym.

Kurt is so knowledgeable and such a great demeanor for what he does. He has given me a variety of exercises that have helped me with a number of nagging injuries from sports that I've played over the years. There have been many times where he's recommended something that has an immediate (positive) effect and allows me to continue to stay active. Kurt is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and was very familiar with my injuries and my concerns, and he gave me the perfect combination of exercises to safely ramp up to the point where I'm able to go back to doing some of the things that I love. I started training with Kurt just over three years ago and I would NEVER go to anyone else! I have been in and out of PT for 15 years with numerous different injuries (ankle, back goes out, frozen shoulder, ACL tear, arthritis in my hips) and have never had anyone listen to me or work with me the way Kurt does. It is very apparent that he does his research and takes time outside our sessions to make sure they are tailored to me and only me, not just a checklist. Kurt is always watching my every movement to make sure it's right everytime otherwise he has alternatives ready to go to sub in. I first came to Profitness back in 2013 to 2014. Kurt, the owner, is a truly amazing individual. It had been a true gem to discover this place as he helped me in achieving my goals. I came here as it fit what I was looking for. I had told Kurt about what I wanted to work on based on the career path I was taking. He helped with that and pushed me when I didn’t believe I could do certain things. Even with a lower back injury and basically starting back at square one, he rehabilitated me. Kurt treats his clients not just as a customer to his business but as a friend or family. He builds a relationship with people to understand what their goals are. I’m happy his gym had become what it is today as I remember the days I was there. You don’t only become physically fit, but you build confidence. I've been working out with Kurt for a few months now, and it's amazing how much stronger I already am. I can do real push ups now! I was a little nervous before my first class, but the atmosphere is very welcoming. I left exhausted but smiling, and kept coming back for more! The workouts change every day, so I'm never bored. I had more or less ignored my physical conditioning for the past two years until I started with Kurt and ProFitness in early March. I was overweight, out of shape, and suffered from pain and range of motion issues in both shoulders. Previously, I worked out regularly with a personal trainer at one of the more well-known fitness centers (no names, but it begins with L and ends with ifetime) and ended up with a painful injury to my lower back as a result of a lifting movement, guided by my trainer, that I had no business doing.

After reading some of these reviews, I decided to give Kurt a try. Five months later, I couldn't be happier. I'm in much better physical shape (though I still have progress to be made) and my shoulders are back to a full and painless range of motion as a direct result of Kurt’s background in kinesiology. Kurt designs the workouts to create the most impact through a combination of plyometrics, kettlebells, and kick-boxing. The workouts are extremely fun and never the same.

If your personal trainer:
-expects you to do your warm up cardio during your paid session, or
-isn’t able to alleviate or address your pain/mobility issues, or
-has directly caused an injury, or
-creates workouts that take more than 30 minutes, then…

you would be well-served to give Kurt an opportunity. He’s a great coach and a great person. He is encouraging (especially important to an out of shape guy who didn’t want his ego crushed), patient, and a great motivator.

The first time I visited Pro Fitness Training was for a consultation. Prior to doing the classes, I came in for a one on one technique lesson. I quickly realized how out of shape I actually was. I did the standard gym membership and pushed weight around. The thing that I did not do was cardio (which I hate). The first week or so was brutal. I could barely catch my breath and I was sore. What kept me coming back was Kurt. His encouragement and patience made me feel like I was making progress and becoming stronger. Stronger not in as I was able to just push weight around but faster, more agile and mentally focused. The cherry on top are the rest of the students. Ego is left at the door and what you walk into is a group of people who encourage your gains and make you feel like you are a part of a family. Kurt's mission is a huge undertaking, although not impossible. He's out to make a difference in people's lives by giving them the gift of health and fitness. It's been two years since I walked into Kurt's gym. The workouts are challenging and intense which is the primary reason that I keep going back.
