Jen is the very best personal trainer and pilates instructor I’ve ever worked with. I used to do pilates on the reformer for about 5 years. The last time I took a class was 4 years ago. Around that time I went through a horrible divorce and gained over 40 lbs due to my divorce and depression. I became so out of shape and felt so miserable. I had always been active and even ran the Marine Corps Marathon in 2005. I knew if I’d start exercising again I’d feel better about myself, but I felt like I was so far gone and I was embarrassed about how I looked. It took me awhile to heal, but one day for some reason I decided to google “pilates classes on the reformer.” The first time I searched for classes Pure Joy Pilates didn’t show up. The pilates studios that did show up had set times for different levels of classes and most only offered one class of each level a day and those classes were already full. That’s the difficult part about taking pilates classes on a reformer. Classes are small and are usually full so even if you want to take the class you can’t.The studio I went to in Omaha was similar. Once you got the days and time you wanted you didn’t give it up! Frustrated, I did another search and this time Jen’s studio Pure Joy Pilates came up. I went to her website and read about her classes. She teaches pilates on the reformer one on one or a maximum of 2 students at a time. Also, you can schedule your session ANYTIME she has open and it COSTS THE SAME as a group pilates class would have cost at the other studios I looked at! I didn’t have to worry about getting into the right class since she trains you at the level you are at and pushes you a little each time.Jen is an amazing, educated, caring, and observant trainer (she noticed I had flat feet right away, no one has noticed that before, and changed my exercises to help them). Since you are the only one in the class she is able to make sure your form is correct and that you are breathing properly with each exercise. Also, she does a wonderful job explaining why you are doing certain exercises and how they will help your body. I am so VERY THANKFUL I found Jen and her studio! She is not only the best personal trainer I’ve ever worked with (and I’ve worked with a lot over the past 25 years!), but she’s also so much fun! Class flies by! Also, she only uses the best reformers recommended by the National Pilates Association. If you’ve ever wanted to try pilates on a reformer hurry and make an appointment with Jen! Pilates on a reformer is not only fun, but the best form of exercise! You use muscles you didn’t even know you had and when you are done your body feels so good! You strengthen and stretch your muscles at the same time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jen at Pure Joy Pilates! She’s simply the BEST! You get one on one pilates training on the reformer for the same price as a group pilates class AND you can find the days and times that will work for you!

Jen at Pure Joy Pilates is amazing!! She is very knowledgeable about Pilates- both reformer and mat. She also educates people about fitness, health and wellness, and how to target certain muscle groups. She makes working out a blast while she motivates and makes you feel like you can do anything. Her one-on-one training is geared toward individual needs and her group classes are energetic and fun!!
