I have been working with Danielle for 5 years and have been amazed at the benefits to my flexibility and mobility. I definitely have a stronger core and she is aware of my personal health issues such as osteopenia that require specific changes to some exercises. Danielle is very attuned to the needs of all her students in the class and makes it fun--the time flies!

Malia is my favorite instructor! In class she’s present, professional, and attentive to each client offering adjustments for better positioning, and her knowledge in physiology and Pilates surpasses many other instructors I’ve had. Her classes flow fluidly, and her exercises in each class are unique and well-planned out. I never want to leave this studio because of Malia!

I love going to the Monday evening mat class! It’s challenging enough to get a good workout in and stay engaged but not so overwhelming that I want to give up. I’ve been going weekly for 3 months which is the longest I’ve ever stuck with a workout class and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Cannot recommend Purposeful Pilates enough!

I am well into my third year with Purposeful Pilates.
The teachers are well trained, astute observers and clear communicators. They provide interesting, sufficiently challenging and FUN classes!
My main interest in Pilates is to keep my spine healthy which it does and the rest is a bonus.
I have immensely enjoyed my classes and will continue to do so.

I’ve been doing Pilates with Danielle since before she opened Purposeful Pilates. When my husband decided to try it I knew she was the best person to get him started. We are in our mid-seventies and without regular Pilates workouts life would be more painful and less fun.

I am OBSESSED with Purposeful Pilates! Total Stage 5 Clinger. I had never done Pilates (or any group fitness class) before, and now I can’t imagine my week without it. The vibe is super welcoming, and I actually look forward to working out! Danielle, the owner, has such a gift for teaching the fundamentals. She makes everything approachable, explains the “why” behind each movement, and ensures that you build a strong foundation. Katie brings the energy. She’s upbeat, motivating, and makes every class fly by! Together, they’ve created the perfect balance of education and fun.
Since starting a few months ago, I feel stronger, more coordinated and the changes in my posture and core strength have been incredible! I also love that Danielle taught free community classes at the North Loop Green this summer and even offers a class at the Four Seasons (Hello?!? 2 hours of spa access before or after your workout…yes, please!). Purposeful Pilates is more than a studio…it’s a place that builds confidence, community, and real results. If you’ve ever been hesitant to try Pilates, Purposeful Pilates is THE place to start.

I can’t say enough great things about this gym! Whenever I come in with backaches or tight muscles, I leave feeling completely relieved and refreshed. The classes are not only effective but also fun, and the instructors do such a great job guiding us through movements that release tension and build strength. Everyone here is so friendly, and the welcoming environment makes it easy to look forward to every visit. The workouts also complement my other training perfectly, I can definitely feel myself getting stronger each week. My absolute favorite class is TRX; it’s such an amazing workout, and I’d love to see even more TRX classes added to the schedule!

you will find a class and instructor at Purposeful Pilates that will suit your needs and abilities. Although most of my practice has been working with Danielle I’ve had the opportunity to take classes with other instructors in the studio and they have all been knowledgeable and very professional. Danielle creates a welcoming environment and keeps her classes both fun and challenging. I love that we get to try new things each week. She knows her clients well. Even though you may be taking a class with 5 other students I often feel like I’m her only client in class at the time. The studio is beautiful and clean and in a great North Loop location in Minneapolis. I highly recommend Purposeful Pilates.

This is a fantastic studio. Sessions are a little more expensive than you might find at some of the larger fitness centers that offer Pilates, but it is worth every penny. Danielle, the owner, is very knowledgeable on the practice and takes a highly individualized approach to her instruction. She also maintains a meticulous studio with strict attention to cleanliness and equipment maintenance. I've been practicing about 10 years and I'll reserve my spot at this studio for at least the next 10!

I met Danielle about six years ago as I limped to the gym to work out after a total knee replacement, caused by a downhill ski injury. I was feeling weak and so sad at my loss of strength and endurance. I also felt really old. She suggested that I try pilates. Danielle was so nice and confident that she could help me get my strength back with pilates. I started private sessions a couple of times a week and graduated to classes. I love it. The time goes so fast when I'm doing pilates. I'm stronger and more flexible. I golf every summer and I don't worry about not being strong enough or flexible enough. I can even keep up with my six grandchildren and share my active passions and sports with them. Pilates is fun and safe. It's the perfect exercise regimen for me now that I've learned that my bones are not as dense as I would like. When I was diagnosed with osteopenia three years ago, Danielle used her knowledge to adapt my pilates routine so that I can move and build strength safely. Pilates challenges me. Danielle is a positive influence on my life on a weekly basis. Pilates will be a regular part of my life forever and Danielle will be my instructor and coach.

Pilates is an ageless exercise regimen. At age 73, I need a fitness routine on which I can build a healthy lifestyle. More importantly, I need a coach who can push me to achieve my flexibility goals but also understand that I don't have the flexibility of a 30 year old. I have found both in Danielle. During my four years with Danielle, my stamina and balance have improved. I used to drag myself to the gym. Now I look forward to making more progress. My mental acuity has also improved. Danielle has a unique way of encouraging and challenging her clients and tailor fits (almost weekly) her workouts for the needs of the client as he or she walks through the door. Like I said, pilates is an ageless regimen with an intuitive coach like Danielle.

Daniel is an amazing instructor who makes sure you understand “the why” behind each movement in Pilates so that you can get maximum benefits. She makes sure you stay safe, no matter what your body limitations are and cares about each of her clients. Purposeful Pilates is an awesome Pilates studio, with a prime location in the North Loop. The studio is full of exercise equipment, including 6 reformers. The owner and staff really care about each individual client and applies their vast knowledge base to classes as well as private lessons. Pilates is a great way to exercise, no matter your limitations or injuries, and Purposeful Pilates is the best studio!
