Iβve been a member at Ripple Effect for about a year and I love it! The gym community is very welcoming and I get a lot out of every workout. I feel challenged and supported as an athlete and cared for as a person.
Coaches provide a variety of movement options during every workout which makes this a great gym for folks new or returning to movement as a well as more experienced folks.

The coaches are all fantastic - super supportive, always work with people where they are at in their fitness journey. And the other members are supportive and fun - makes it easier to go to the gym at 5:30 am!

I'm a new Ripple Effect gym member but so far my experience has been excellent. The "on ramp" into membership was extremely personalized & made me feel better prepared to launch into classes. The coaches are really sharp! I've done a wide variety of fitness classes & training in the past & have gleaned brand new tips & information from the coaches @ Ripple Effect. The small class size really does create a feeling of community & the other participants have been super friendly & welcoming. I can be introverted at times & have found the group classes to be just the right balance of inclusivity and hospitality without being annoying or overwhelming. :).

This place and its people are exceptional. The coaches are focused on building strong people, not just strong muscles. They empower individual change through relationship, partnering to build trust in self, through which strength can be built and maintained. They offer offer a sturdy, affirming approach to wellness in both mind and body. It's effective, not fancy, and I hope it stays that way.

One of the best fitness centers in St. Paul. Great variety of exercise options for all ages. I am a 59 year old woman working with Coach Jake in 1:1 classes specifically designed for me. I couldn't be happier.

I've been a member at Ripple for a little over 6 months now, and I can't wait for the next 6 months! I was searching for a gym that had a strong mission and friendly trainers when I found Ripple Effect. I signed up for an intro session, and fast forward 6 months later - I'm a stronger and more well-rounded person.
Caveat: I do not take the group classes, I only pay for personal training sessions. However from what I can tell, the classes that are offered seem to be challenging and effective.
Special shout out to Chris, my trainer, for being willing to modify the workouts after I was in boots for a few weeks. The trainers here are always willing to be flexible and meet you where you are when you're training, it's definitely not one size fits all and I really appreciate that mindset!
If you're looking for a gym with an excellent community aspect, fantastic trainers, and a great mission - look no further. Ripple Effect is where you want to be!

After CrossFitting for years I left my last gym in 2019 once the culture and programming didn't feel good to my "new mom" body or principles any more. I new I needed a change, but after I left I really, really missed my fitness-focused community and access to olympic lifting instruction. By total chance I found RECF and am over the moon with this gym! I love the supportive coaching, member culture, family friendly attitude, and challenging but wholly accessible programming. This place is the total package. I'm back to loving my fitness routine and the people I work out with every day.

I am so lucky to have found RECF. The small classes allow for individualized attention. Iβm never made to feel bad or ashamed when I canβt do a movement and the coaches are always ready with helpful suggestions and variations. My 1-on-1βs in personal training sessions have helped me build confidence and push myself to work harder. I was recommended RECF a couple years ago and was so skeptical of cross-fit type programming that I brushed off the rec. My mistake. Iβm so happy I got the chance to change my mind.

I've been going to this gym for over three years. The support and coaching have been the reasons I have stayed. The other members are wonderful and also supportive, and it is amazing to watch people get stronger and healthier. This is the best gym experience I have ever had, and I am glad that I found RECF! What a great gym!

I love the support I get at Ripple Effect. The classes are small enough for 1:1 guidance from the coaches and allow for great camaraderie amongst members. I'm getting stronger and more confident in my physical abilities thanks to the amazing coaches on staff and the great community of members. The coaches have helped me to easily adjust my workouts as my needs evolve through pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. It's simple to join a gym, the hard part is sticking around as life changes - Ripple Effect keeps me coming back.

RECF is truly in its own category. A gym beaming with acceptance, inclusion, and understanding, itβs easy to see why members keep coming back. Small classes help athletes gain confidence in movements and allows for individualized attention. Unlike most CrossFit gyms, classes are less concerned with how much you can lift or how fast you complete a workout, but the personal victories of each athlete. Looking for a sustainable and attainable fitness routine? This is it.

Highly recommend. This is my first gym experience and it feels safe. Coaches are extra attentive to everyone, small class sizes, I feel like I am getting personal training sessions with new friends. Love learning these new exercises that I can do the rest of my life, love the feeling of more energy and strength. Incredibly positive community from the top down. So appreciative of the coaches and members.

I just joined ripple effect with my wife and we are both over the moon. Itβs a welcoming and inclusive community with training and support for anyone who wants to learn how to lift and workout more safely and effectively. My goals are for functional fitness- build my stamina and endurance after many years of illness and get stronger! I can already tell a difference in what I am able to do both in the gym and out. Ripple effect offers an on-ramp program which gives you 1:1 time with a trainer to learn the basics before stepping into a class. And classes are small! 6 at a time, vaccines are required and you get lots of feedback through the workout. Thank you, Ripple Effect!!

I had recently moved into the neighborhood and was looking for a gym that was closer that was not a total bro fest. I hated working out before but found an inclusive gym last year that really showed me how fun it could be. Ripple Effect has been the same great experience with super accommodating staff that are kind and push me to do better. I enjoy the smaller class sizes and being able to measure my progress within the provided app. Really appreciate having this space and community to continue to grow in my fitness journey.

I had been dreading getting back into working out because I thought I was going to have to go through a month or so of extreme discomfort before I could get into the swing of things, but fortunately the on-ramping at Ripple Effect not only helped me ease back but was also challenging enough that I was seeing results.
The workouts vary from the traditional crossfit gyms in the sense that the emphasis is put on either just the strength training movement or the workout itself. I like that you're not rushing to get through both in a single session. Much like other gyms, every workout has a Rx/Performance version with all the standard crossfit movements or the scaled/fitness version, and you can swap movements between the two if one of your movements is stronger than some of the others.
Overall, great gym, great people, great location, great workouts, and an approachable take on Crossfit.

This gym is a great spot to drop-in when you're in the Twin Cities!
Chris does a phenomenal job ensuring everyone in class is moving well and having fun. It happens to be one of the cleanest and most well-lit gyms I've checked out in years.
If you're looking for a community that will not only make you laugh, but help you reach your goals too, this is the spot for you.

This is, bar none, the best investment Iβve ever made to improve my diet, fitness levels, health, and wellness!! I am only beginning my fifth week, and my strength and tone are dramatically improved.... best of all, the team at Ripple Effect make working out and eating right FUN!
I had really let myself go downhill with diet and exercise, due to working from home during the pandemic. I just took my foot off the gas for over 8 months!!!
I am amazed at the quick, meaningful results Iβve seen in such a short time! Joining RECF has had huge positive impacts on my physical, mental, and emotional well-being! Highly recommend! Also, theyβre just good, kind people!!! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

If you are looking for a supportive community and attentive coaches, Ripple Effect is the gym for you! They offer group fitness classes that are fun and challenging regardless of your level, and they offer personal training if you are looking for something more individualized. Coach Chris helped me get my first pull-up and then wrote a personal training program to help me build that skill.

Iβm so grateful to have been introduced to Ripple Effect by a friend. Consistently challenging and fun workouts, but most importantly, kind trainers who care to get to know their athletes and an amazing atmosphere of community and encouragement. Every body is taken seriously and is met where theyβre at. Iβd recommend to anyone looking to increase their strength, mobility, and confidence. Plus, an LGBTQ+ safe and affirming space. πͺπͺπͺπͺπͺ

I'd never done Crossfit before joining Ripple Effect. I joined mainly because I'd been looking for a way to push myself and hold myself accountable in my workout routine. I'd never participated in any sort of group fitness classes before, and I was skeptical. I imagined myself feeling inexperienced and awkward around other athletes who already knew what they were doing, especially with a lot of the weight lifting movements.
The on-ramp classes fully prepared me for participating in classes. I got personalized feedback to improve my movements and I felt comfortable using all the equipment around the gym. It helped that everyone is incredibly welcoming and supportive here - we're all here to improve ourselves and encourage others to improve, not to compare ourselves to the other people who can lift more than us or have been doing it for longer. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, and this community really fosters growth and self-confidence.
After going to Ripple Effect for just 3 months, I can see and feel so much improvement in my body. I actually have definition in my shoulder and arm muscles! I'm especially surprised at how much I love the olympic weightlifting workouts. As a petite young woman, every PR makes me feel like a complete badass, and everyone around you is proud of you, too.
Overall, this is a great way to get in shape and Ripple Effect creates an environment for you to have a little fun while you do it. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying what an amazing human being that Chris is. I personally have been to a few CrossFit gyms in my life and have always felt like I was left behind. With Ripple I have never felt that way from the first day you will be included as if you have been with this team for years. The coaching is like nothing I have ever had they are involved from every lift to every burpee. Just making sure it is done correct so you can truly get the best workout. If you are looking for a gym where you matter and your goals are taken seriously this is the place.

I've had a great experience at this gym. It's a no attitude place with nice, new equipment, and fantastic coaching. It's located inside a building with multiple fitness related businesses, which is also very cool. Friendly atmosphere, fantastic workouts, good location - all pluses.

Fabulous location (in a fitness co-op convenient to freeways with ample parking), fabulous coaching (able and more than willing to scale movements to any level - and I do mean ANY!), fabulous and friendly members. Working out is fun again!
(For context, Iβm overweight and recovering from a high ankle sprain, partially torn Achilles, and carpal tunnel surgeries in both hands. Chris is able to craft workouts for my ability level that are safe, but keep me involved in what the rest of the class is doing. Itβs awesome.)
