I've been going to the RockBox in Rochester for 2 years now. I started during the time of the COVID pandemic and I was really out of shape. RockBox changed that. The staff here are super friendly and are always there to answer any questions that you may have. They always push me past my limits and are super encouraging. They are kind of like your personal trainer but in a group class form so you don't feel the pressure of someone critiquing your form the whole time. I always have a fun time when I go and they play upbeat music to keep you going! I highly recommend this place!

I did a 6 month membership with them & I had to end my membership because it was too expensive for me and I didn’t have much time for it, so I told them I wanted to end it in April but they required a 30 day cancellation fee so I was like okay so I paid the last month (April) of $193 and then I was done. Until I got another charge of $193 in May, so I called and they said it was because I was late on my last payment, which was bc the card on file was having fraud issues so it wasn’t my fault. I still made sure I paid them for the final month. But since I was late a few days they charged me another $193 and refused to refund it because there is nothing they could do about it. I definitely do not recommend the membership with Rockbox.

If you are looking for a gym with friendly staff, fun music and lights, and variety in your workouts, Rockbox Fitness is your gym. My biggest selling points: I’ve been going for over two years and have never seen the same class twice and through 37 weeks of pregnancy they modified workouts to fit my needs/abilities. Truly have enjoyed being apart of this gym!

I'm a person who would generally rather be sedentary than physically active but I've been going to RockBox regularly for over 2 years! I love the workouts and the atmosphere! It's loud and dark and a bit like a nightclub! The coaches are awesome and really put an effort in to get to know the members. It may seem a little scary and hard at first but if I can do it anyone can!

I started Rockbox when they opened - have now been to over 600 classes and it's always changing. Never the same workout twice- and the coaches and members are simply the BEST! Never thought I would love a workout so much; your whole body gets worked every time (even though the focus is different each day). No matter what level you're at - Rockbox has got ya covered! Tried this to see what it was all about. Had a great time in the class and the atmosphere is very energetic and supportive. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel very welcome and can answer any questions that you may have. The workout area is great with plenty of room and the class size Is perfect as well. Can't wait to go back and take another class. If you are looking to change up your exercise routine this is definitely the place to come and workout.

I own a business in town and took my team of 30 for a private event. We had a blast! Everyone really enjoyed it. The workout was intense but fun. I'm going back next week with a smaller group and can't wait!! Expect a really stellar workout with a lot of energy and fun!

Rockbox is a great gym for beginners wanting to step outside of their comfort zone. I have never boxed in my life but I had a great time learning in an chill atmosphere. The staff are so nice and queer friendly. They create a judgement free environment in which I felt comfortable doing something new! The only reason I did not sign up was that the cost just did not work with my budget, however staff are very willing to work with you and there are many holiday deals one can find on their instagram page @rockbox_rochester

Found this gym in my early 30s, after a sedentary childhood and young adulthood. Exercise always sounded both difficult and boring to me, a relatively clumsy recluse. However, kick-boxing sounded interesting -- hit and kick things? yes please -- so I gave it a try... and 1.5 years later, I'm still going regularly! There's so much variety that you get this really robust overall fitness without having to plan for it -- my stamina is better, my range of motion and strength are better across the board, and I don't ever get bored.
One of the best parts for me -- you don't have to commit to a difficulty level going in. You sign up to show up. There's a range of difficulty/modifications laid out for each exercise, every day, and you make the choice each day what to put into it, but you're never on the hook for more than showing up. If you're tired, if you get a cramp or injury, if you're just not feeling it, there's still room for you. And if you need help figuring out how to work around a limitation or injury, the coaches are there to help you.
What this also means, is the strengths, weaknesses, and goals you bring may be different from others around you -- and yet you're all able to exercise together, in the same classes and space. It creates a very counter-competitive, welcoming, inclusive environment, that has room whatever you're looking to get out of it. <3

I have never enjoyed a gym or fitness class more than RockBox! The workouts, the people, the coaches, the music, doesn't get any better! The team checks in on you regularly to keep you motivated to come back and reach your goals. You won't want to miss the music and energy on Monday nights with Coach Missy! RockBox has been a life changer for me. I am really good at making excuses to not do things, so a regular gym membership just didn't work for me. RockBox is an amazing workout with a fun environment. From day one, I felt like I belonged as staff and members are all very welcoming. RockBox workouts are fun, challenging and always changing which leaves me excited to come back. RockBox has changed me in so many aspects. Not only have I lost 15 pounds and therefore have more confidence, but I also have more energy to do the things I enjoy!

I've been trying out gyms for a while but I'm not the kind of person that likes to just lift weights. I finally found rockbox and it is the perfect kind of gym I feel I can achieve my person goals at. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I love this place! It's a very intense workout so that's not your thing, that's okay. It's a 50 minute workout. Each class is different but does a similar structure so you know what to expect though the exercises and how long you do each one are different. I like it because I can just go and the decisions for my workout are made for me. The trainers are very personal and very nice as well!

Staff are extremely kind and welcoming. I’ve done all types of fitness over the years—this is the first gym I’m excited to come to in the morning before work or on the weekends. The workouts are challenging, always different, and always leave me with a sense of accomplishment. There is clearly a sense of camaraderie among members too. I decided to come one day after I found out a friend came and enjoyed it. And I haven’t looked back since. I have never been into weights or kickboxing but Rockbox makes it so easy for anyone at any level to do all of the stations in class. You can push yourself as hard as you want or take it easy some days and no one will judge you. The music is always amazing and I love how the room is slightly darker. I would always recommend Rockbox to a friend. I feel stronger than I ever have before and I love every single workout!

Rockbox Rochester is like no other gym/workout I have ever experienced. I can come in tired and unmotivated and the coaches and members greet and encourage me to do more and I always come out having had a great workout. I don't even have to think about what I'm going to do - the workout is all planned and it's an excellent workout every time. There is just something about hitting those bags that is indescribable. I went to try this out as a fun way to supplement my normal exercise and it was super fun. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The gym is a nice size, with easy parking and accesible location. They have tons of great classes and the times worked really well for my schedule.
Upon arrival they explained everything to me and a few other new comers. It was really fun and I felt like they genuinely wanted us to have a good time. During the class the teacher payed close attention to us so she could make sure we knew what we were doing. Half of the class time was spent on the punching bags and the other half doing other exercises. It was based on different stations that conveniently had short videos of the exercise you were supposed to do so you never felt lost. It was an absolutely fantastic workout with plenty of opportunities to make it easier or harder depending on your need and depending on the day.
I would recommend this for anyone who wants to add structure to their exercise routine. It was super easy to sign up for classes and cancel as needed. I had never kick boxed before and I would certainly recommend this to anyone who wants to try!

I highly recommend checking out RockBox Fitness in Rochester! It’s a great workout and in 50 minutes I’m drenched in sweat. The trainers are amazing; each one is super personable and wants to help you crush your goals! Each day is something different and it includes functional exercises, focused on upper and lower body and core strength, and kickboxing! And you set the pace for your workout. Also the trainers are available for personal training sessions if that’s something that interests you too!

The Go to place for kickboxing here in Rochester, MN! I have years of experience with multiple kickboxing gyms and RockBox in particular has been the best so far! I appreciate the fact that it is not just functional exercises a few days a week and boxing the other days, it is both functional and boxing on the same day. This in my opinion is the best workout because doing both in a 50 minute workout is more productive and energizing than doing two separate days. The facility is clean and spacious. The staff is all awesome and the coachs all make sure that you are maintaining boxing/weight lifting form during the workouts. If you are looking to improve yourself or just a new hobby, this place is a great way to start!

I have been going to RockBox for a few months now. I have never been into group fitness classes but I thought I would give a kickboxing class a try. Half the class is functional exercises and the other half is hitting a bag. It has been a great mix of exercises and literally every day I leave sweaty. I have noticed that my arms are much more toned and my core is getting stronger. The trainers have great personalities. There's a wide range of times available (i.e. early morning 5 am and evening 7 pm classes). I highly recommend giving it a try and you'll probably end up addicted.

I really enjoy RockBox workouts. The combination of boxing and functional fitness/weight training is great. Im not a “fighter” but —ermagerd—stress melts away when you focus on a challenging workout. I leave feeling I’ve really accomplished a lot for myself in a session. After a few months, I am stronger and have more stamina. I love the variation of workouts and appreciate the smaller class size. I can only give the highest ratings for the trainers and the workouts they plan. Thanks !

I never joined any gym and went more than once or twice a year :). After more than 2 years of being inactive due to a medical condition then covid my friend convinced me to try Rockbox free class with her and i thought i would go only once and try it to avoid her nagging :D. Here i am 3 months later going everyday and encouraging my friends to come try it. I just love how supportive the trainers are, how friendly the staff are and how much fun and diffrent the workouts everyday. I love the music, the vibrant atmosphere and the DELIGHTFUL COMMUNITY. Its definitely the best part of my day. ❤️ ill give it 7 stars ⭐️ ⭐️

What I love about RockBox is that you can completely tailor the workout to your level. Want more? Hit faster and harder. Need less? Go slow and controlled. I made my New Year's resolution early and pulled the trigger on doing something different to start that journey. RockBox has not disappointed! There's no pressure to be Iron Man right out of the gate and the trainers are more than happy to provide modifications for any of the functional pieces. Everyone is always friendly, both the staff and members. I feel stronger and healthier and it's thanks to this fantastic place!

Hands down one of the best gyms I've been to yet. In 50 minutes, you are constantly in transition between high intensity interval exercises on the tier/thai bags and functional equipment/weights. Over time, you surprise and better yourself with that physical and mental breakthrough. The fitness coaches have a true passion for their work, and it shows by the way they challenge you individually to push a little further, while also keeping the workouts different, challenging, and SAFE as a class (for all fitness levels). The environment and culture here is super chill, hype, and family-like. If you got even that 1% interest, I 100% recommend and dare you to ROCK that BOX, and HIT IT!

RockBox is so much more than boxing. It incorporates functional fitness. An entire body work out. Within the first 5 minutes I was sweating. I was most impressed with the atmosphere. The instructor and choice of music pumped everyone up leaving you feel like you were on top of the world. I was also very impressed with the variety of age groups and fitness levels in the class. I tried a free class and I enjoyed it a lot. From upbeat music, good instructors and positive vibes, I really enjoy my time here. They snared me in to joining and I’m glad I did, Between Dec 19 and January 20ish I lost 10 pounds but I noticed Improvements like clothes fit a little better, have an easier time moving what used to be heavy supply carts at work as well as most of the time being in a better mood.
The biggest problem with me for trying to get in shape was that the exercises got boring ( and food cheat days) but here it seems like every day is new and it goes on rotations from the bags to functional exercises (my favorite is the one that you need to swing heavy ropes), and every class leaves you sweaty and smelling epic.
