Great atmosphere convenient and all the equipment I need to get in shape. I’ve been part of Statera almost 20 years. Love the place.

Statera is an awesome community gym where all are welcomed and encouraged on their fitness journey. The owner, Dennis Gudim, has been very influential in my son’s athletic career providing both training and surgery rehab support and guidance. I highly recommend as the gym has everything you need, from equipment, classes, and amenities to expert training - all packaged in a safe, friendly, and convenient location.

I joined Statera a month after they opened in late 2004 in their original location and started training with Dennis then. I have trained with him off and on since, mostly on, and have remained a member all these years. This gym meets my needs well, and I can't imagine ever going to a bigger fitness center. It's nice to see members who have been with the gym as long as I have, and there are many!

I like the neighborhood feel of the place, has all the equipment I need, rarely crowded, and a really good price ($40/month). Plus you can sign up for extra benefits like spin classes and personal training. I go about twice a week and drive all the way from Edina because I like it that much.

I started working out at Statera and Dennis (the owner) in preparation for my wedding. As someone who would describe herself as FAR from comfortable in the gym, I can say that Statera is the place for you no matter what you are trying to achieve. The space is the furthest from intimidating, Dennis and the team are welcoming and eager to help you no matter what your fitness journey or goals may be. 10/10 recommend if you're looking for the alternative to the big box gym or the overly pretentious boutique... Statera truly is the "gym next door"

Worst service and terrible family business. Never at the desk to get help. Have sent repeated request on ending membership and no one has contacted me back. Terrible service. Would not recommend to anyone. This situation has not been handled repeatedly and I have been trying for a month.

I have been a full time member since 2007, and have always found the mix of people that choose to attend this gym totally refreshing. Owner Dennis has been great to work with, and i have developed numerous friendships with many of my fellow Statera members. If you are looking for a friendly, neighborhood establishment run by a local family, this is the place for you!

Excellent facility with everything you’d expect in a fitness gym. Easy secure access and more fitness machines and free weights than you could ever use in a session. Upstairs and downstairs fitness rooms with showers. Classes and personal trainers available for customized workouts. Large parking lot. Highly recommended.

The facility is decent but the owner and the front desk are slimey business owners. I originally went in for a trial and they wouldn't give honor the trial and so I signed up for a membership. My friend I was going with cancelled his membership so I decided to do the same but they said I signed a one year contract. I didn't remember this and they didn't provide and evidence either. I decided to just keep going on occasion and make the best of it. After the year mark they are still taking money out of my bank account. Stay away unless you want to be a forced lifetime member!!!

We love Statera Fitness! The location, amenities, staff, training support, design, and price point. Dennis has made it easy to invest in health and fitness, creating a weight lifting program with an eye on realistic benchmarks and success. The ease of access is key for us, and the aesthetic β€” bright light and floor to ceiling doors that open in the summer, make it a happy place to work out in. I recommend it to any busy professional or family seeking a realistic way to integrate fitness training into your life.

Love statera. Been going 15 months now and only cancelling because I’m moving. Almost 24 hr access. Lots of machines, racks and space for you to get your workout in. Everything you’d need to achieve your goals.

Everyone keeps to themselves and is respectful.

Great price as well.

I signed up for a 7-day pass online and they emailed me to schedule a time to pick up the pass. Once I arrived at the scheduled time, they told me that they would not be giving me a 7-day pass and made me feel like a nuisance and crazy for asking for that. They said I "was trying to get free workouts out of them" That's literally what a guest pass is for. Then they said they only way they would give me a pass is if I signed up for a membership and they only offer 6 month and 12 month memberships where the 6 month is more expensive. Very weird and unprofessional experience. I think this place is very sketchy. They were talking about adding initiation fees, member pass fees, and it added up fast. And after looking at other reviews I do not trust their business practices which is unfortunate because they have a great selection of workout equipment and cool features like the garage doors. I just wish I could trust them

Minnesota Nice! I've been a member of Statera for 2 years (recently canceled membership) and never fully felt welcomed nor completely comfortable @ this establishment, but out of convenience and taking my health journey serious I settled and continued to pay for the mediocre services. My cousin referred me and raved about how clean, quaint, and beautiful this place was so I needed little to no convincing when signing on! Within the 1st 90 days of joining, my 1st negative encounter was with Karen, who often sits at the front desk; my cousin and I scheduled time to connect and workout and she had forgotten her keycard (no biggie right?). Knowing that she was also a member, I paused my warm up and let her into the facilities. Karen later approached us and stated that this was against the gyms rules and that we are to not open the door to individuals etc...this would have been all good and well received, had we not watched several white patrons perform the same gesture as well as it's not what she said, but how she said it. In addition, my cousin had been a member far longer than I, and had spoke with Karen plenty of times so one would assume that there was some facial recognition and knew that she too was a paying member. My 2nd and continuous unpleasantry would be that no one ever greeted me with a good morning or inquired how things were going, let alone ever followed up with me about my free training/workout session I was suppose to received upon onboarding. Again for this establishment to be a family owned and a small business, I expected common courtesies and simple yet formal bonds to be made over the time frame of my attendance. Last, and the final incident that occurred was over the shelter in place order due to Covid-19. I was billed for 3 months for a facility/services that I had no access to. There was never any correspondence sent out from the business stating their concerns or giving any options on what members could due with their accounts during this time. I tried contacting their team on 3 different occasions via email and finally got through to Karen when I called in on May 29th. She then mumbled off some bs policy in regards to receiving a full refund I would need to give a 30 day notice of cancellation etc... and that she would look into the matter and email me confirmation. Karen sent a generic email stating I could only receive 1 month of my refund and would send a check out immediately. I rebutted and wanted to view the info in writing and had some other inquiries so I sent a very detailed response on 6/9/20....it is now 6/30/20 and I've yet to receive a response back nor receive my refund for any amount. Cancelled Membership!

Very nice small, locally owned gym. Seems like they're always adding new features, classes, etc. Dennis (the owner) seems like a friendly guy who cares a lot about the facility and quality. My only complaint is sometimes the cleanliness is a bit lacking specifically in the locker room.

I really wanted to like this place. I currently work for another gym that's in the south metro so we wanted to support a local business that was also a mile from where we lived. However, we should have trusted our gut... Starting with me reaching out to them to set up a tour and 7 day pass, they made it feel like we were an inconvenience. The tour was all of 3 minutes with absolutely no engagement. Despite the poor customer service, we still decided to join under the agreement that we would sign a 6 month contract instead of 12 (because we most likely would be moving out of St. Paul). After becoming members, we never were greeted by the owner, in fact the only staff member who was friendly to us was one of the female trainers. At one point, my wife requested to meet with one of the trainers to talk about buying training. There was no communication between front desk and trainers so the appointment was not communicated. When my wife showed up, they weren't prepared and the front desk had to check to see if the owner had "a few moments to spare". When sitting down with the owner (who is the head trainer- who also was eating during the brief conversation), he basically told her he was too busy to train her and he didn't have any of his trainers business cards so he would have them reach out to her... which they never did (shocker). So when our 6 months were up, I visited the club to pick up the cancellation forms and the staff member had me fill them out and said she would look up my contract "later". The next week I got a call saying I was actually in a 12 month contract and would still be paying for another 6 months... I have emailed several times since to meet with the owner and have yet to hear back. Bottom line is this is a very poorly run facility. Terrible communication skills between staff and with members. In a service based industry I have no idea how this place keeps its members.

Owner and trainers tend to act like your presence is a bother. Finally decided to go to another gym after a year here. Contract was up, but was told I had to pay for another 30 days despite it being the end of the month. No explanation other then that's "just the way it is". Returned my fob that I had put the 25$ deposit down. Again the front desk lady stated that she would not be issuing a refund. When pressed, she stated because she "didnt have to." I'm all about supporting local businesses, but don't waste your time here. They don't honor contracts, nickel and dime you, and act like your an inconvenience. Never given a business a one star before. My brother had the same issues, as did another friend. This is a place that has terrible customer service in general, not just a one time issue. Much better gyms out there.

Have been a member for a year. This is a great gym, depending what you're looking for. I have had minimal interaction with the staff, but they have been pleasant when I have talked with them. There aren't a lot of classes and they mostly are charged separately. But otherwise, it's on the cheap side with a good selection of machines. I have never had to wait for one, and they have always been clean and functioning. If you aren't in it for the classes and don't require a luxury experience, then I recommend it.

I really enjoy this gym. It is never too busy that you can't use the equipments or weights that you need to. There is always cardio machines open when needed as well, i have only ever once seen all treadmills in use.The Gym is kept very clean, more so than most gyms I have been to.
This is a smaller gym but has everything you need.

There are only a couple downsides here. The first is that this gym is missing a couple pieces of equipment. It desperately needs a Smith Machine, a Trap Bar, and it needs heavier kettlebells. The second issue is that the person they pay to clean the place does not always clean the showers very well so sometimes you will see visible grime.

I guess another small mark on this gym is they only have 1 PT. So far this does not seem to be an issue but as more people join they will need more.

Terrible customer service. Just recently moved near the area, wanted to try out the gym before getting a membership, so stopped in to get a tour. Ended up having to pay $20 for the "free" 7 day trial. The front desk lady told me if I ended up not joining I will get reimbursed for the card. At the end of the week I decided to go with another gym, so asked how she would like me to return my card, because my work hours do not align with their desk hours. She requested that I place my card in a stamped envelope with my address on the front desk and she will send me my refund. I did what she asked, but never received the reimbursement so I eventually emailed her. She told me she threw the envelope away and asked me to go in to pick it up, because she "forgot" to check if I had a stamp on there. How do you forget to check for a stamp when you specifically asked me for it. Not only that, I made sure to place the envelope stamp side up, so I'm not sure how she "missed" it.

I was a member for a year, I used to live near by and it was convenient to go to. I moved away with the intention to cancel after the year was up. After my year ran out, it started to auto-renew, which I do not remember saying that it auto renewed in the contract. I called to cancel they said I needed to come in to cancel, I went in multiple times but no one was ever there to let me cancel. There is hardly anyone actually in the office. I called again and said I would like to cancel they said I need to come in, I told them I moved recently and am farther away now and each time I came in to cancel there was no one in the office (during logical business hours). She then proceeded to scoff and said "you couldve just left a signed note saying you wanted to cancel" The previous times I had called she had never mentioned this and only told me I had to come in and cancel. I asked her if she would be in the office that day, if I could come in and cancel, she said yes, but then called me back within 5 min saying she had a doctor appointment and actually would NOT be there... She said she would leave a form for me to sign to cancel my membership. I make it over to Shitera and could not find the form ANYWHERE in the office... So I left a post-it note requesting to cancel. I thought it wouldve been over, but to my surprise they charged me again this morning for another month.... I have no clue how to cancel this membership. DO NOT JOIN.
