I had a great time coming from the Yang side of Yoga. I have always been interested in Yin I’m so glad I went. I could not have asked for a better teacher Miriam‘s energy and aura and knowledge can’t be beat. Highly recommend.

I was visiting Duluth for work and found this wonderful little studio a few blocks from my hotel. I'm so glad I stopped in! I loved the class (strength flow), the instructor was fantastic, and the regulars were so friendly. I really appreciate that they offer so many classes and sliding scale payment. It's not everyday that you're encouraged to dance in a yoga class! What a gem. I hope to visit the next time I'm in town!

Svalja's YTT Program is incredible, to epic proportions. Whatever you may think a YTT program is, this is so much more.

I am grateful for the depth of experience of the guides and the thoughtfulness of the program course design, weaving together so many facets of Yoga. It so much more than the postures that led most of us to the deeper curiosity.

10/10 recommend to anyone ready to embark on a new journey in their own lives.

Svalja offers a wonderful variety of classes in different yoga styles. The warm inviting space is filled with natural light. I have taken MANY classes both in person and virtually. I recommend them highly.

I chose my YTT training through the Svalja's House of the Gathering because it included the trauma conscious component. I also valued the "classroom with out walls" as we learned and practiced in various places in the community. The learning really encompassed all of a yogic lifestyle and not just the movement, asana, practice. I would recommend this YTT program to anyone seeking to deepen their own personal practice or those looking to be yoga guides.

Yoga is a way of being which is itself an infiniteness of expressions of Being. I’m of the first cohort of House of the Gathering (they’re currently training the fourth!), and Svälja quickly became a spiritual home for me. I’m blessed with Svälja’s support – such as through asana, devotional music & singing, and service – along the yogic path, and I treasure time among this community.

Truly a magical place for transformation and healing through yoga and special offerings. Most all teachers are trained as trauma-conscious guides, so you are encouraged to explore a pose and connect back with yourself rather than merely replicate a pose and hold it. I can't recommend Svalja enough!

The depth of knowledge, the inclusiveness and the incredible range of class offerings is eclipsed only by the genuine care and concern for everyone who walks through the door. Having trauma aware guides and teachers is incredible. Svalja offers a sacred joy and belonging even as we work through challenges on and off the mat. Everyone is welcome. All are welcome, whether you are a beginner or more advanced. AND there is often live ambient music. Come join us!

Kyle has created a yoga studio that is inviting, warm, peaceful, and safe. There are an incredible variety of classes and styles to choose from. Class offerings are available at an assortment of times and dates so one can easily work in a session. The teachers are amazing! They encourage positive growth and healing throughout each class presenting a trauma sensitive environment and inclusivity . The teachers are skilled and experienced, and share such light and grace! This studio also supports a sliding scale for those who need it. This is the kind of place that I want not only to enjoy, but to support in our community. Thank you Kyle!

I don’t know that I can adequately describe the impact Svälja Yoga has had on my life. The intimate connection to the world and the wholistic approach brought forth is so powerful it cannot be said it must be felt. I highly recommend anyone who has felt the disconnect from not only their true selves at their core but from the world as a whole… those who crave the ability to harbor love and heal from the inside out… sign up with Svälja for their YTT. You won’t regret it.

Svalja Yoga's 250-hour YTT program is a beautiful, diverse mixture of studies on land stewardship, relevant social issues, personal depth psychology, asana guiding, meditation, yoga history, and acknowledgements of each individual's innate wholeness. The focus of the program is on our ability to recognize our wholeness through trauma-conscious practices, always keeping an individual's choice and own bodily knowledge as the guiding light.
As a studio for drop-in classes, there is an array of options for every inclination. Each class offers authentic guides with open hearts, wanting nothing more than for each individual to find their true self within the practice.

Svalja Yoga is a safe and beautiful environment where I have felt comfortable to be myself and explore my practice more deeply and fully.

The staff and guides continually create a space that is both conscious of where everyone in the class is at (physically, emotionally, etc.), allowing for accommodation and freedom to just “be”, while at the same time creating space for further exploration and challenge if that is desired. This is not an easy thing to do but the Svalja team does it extremely well- and they have an amazing Teacher Training program which equips future instructors to do the same.

I recommend Svalja Yoga to anyone who is looking for a safe and comfortable place for an asana practice and also to anyone who is looking for a top notch Yoga Teacher Training program.

The practice room is ENORMOUS and allows for ample comfort, yet is cozy with plants, prayer flags and pleasing decorations. All classes offered are trauma-informed and accessible, so there is something for everyone! The guides are knowledgable, experienced and kind.

Whenever I travel to Duluth, I attend classes at Svälja yoga studio! I also appreciated being able to participate virtually during the height of the pandemic! The instructors are knowledgeable and compassionate. The studio is gorgeous, serene & clean. Lots of mats and props available as well so you don’t have to travel with your yoga mat. Can’t wait to go back and highly recommend!
