The owner and trainers are very good at motivating and remaining positive and supportive as I navigate my healthy lifestyle journey. This is the most amazing trailing program. It takes group train to a new level. They make you feel you are the only person there. it is truly a family atmosphere. We call it the Dojo. The coaches put their heart and sole into every class. Training your whole body. Pre workout stretching and mobilizing, prevents injury.

I joined to get in shape, but I’ve gotten so much more. Increased mobility, great leadership in proper technique. I’ve learned how to use equipment properly and confidently. Eric and Debbie are amazing! I have participated in many different types of fitness programs, but this one goes above and beyond anything else I have seen. Besides getting a fabulous workout…that varies constantly so you never get bored…they are able to push you AND build you up at the same time. I have always felt like a better person leaving their classes than when I first arrived, both physically and mentally. They are extremely knowledgable and are constantly providing fitness, nutrition, and wellness information. Unlike other gyms, the atmosphere is extremely inviting for all levels. I would highly recommend TFW-South Metro to anyone wanting to improve their physical wellbeing!

TFW is more of a family than a gym. Eric, Debbie and Val create an environment that both takes you as you are, yet challenges you to become better everyday. This is place for people who play the long game, who are looking to get better as people, and who want to change the course of their lives for the better.

I have learned to do things I didnt think I could in my mid 40's, and I learned many of the things from members older than me :) From Deadlifts to chin ups to the importance of daily movement, the biggest lessons boil down to not necessarily doing more, but doing it again. Simple, repeatable, challenging.

TFW South Metro is frankly in a different league from others in the market. Eric and Debbie have created workouts that push a seasoned athlete and still are scalable to a beginner. The workouts range from strength training, cardio/weighted movement based, faster cadence total body, and reset/recovery days. The approach is more of an approach to life, than simply working out. They address food, sleep, headspace, and how it correlates with your performance inside and outside of the gym. Being held responsible and still motivating without coming off as condescending is a fine line. They manage to walk it well. When you do your research it becomes obvious quickly how far ahead they are from their peers. I have been going there for about 7 years now. Truly amazing. Being a highly self-motivated individual myself I appreciate the commitment they bring every single day. The energy and genuine passion is contagious. TFW South Metro is simply TOP TIER.

I have been training with Coach Eric Parent, the owner of TFW South Metro, for over 10 years. He is exceptional at designing workouts that build my strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility while taking into account old knees and joints. During Covid he has created programs for my husband and me using an app, short custom videos, and weekly zoom calls to set goals and assess progress. We are both in our 70s. Eric is as effective working with us as he is with young athletes, people starting out after years of inactivity, and everyone in between. The TFW facility is very welcoming. Eric and his coaches are encouraging, positive, and inspiring in their approach. Their attitude sets the culture for class participants as well. New members are welcomed warmly. I highly recommend TFW South Metro.

I have been coached by trainer/owner Eric Parent for 10 years. All of the TFW-South Metro trainers are excellent. They design each class session and the weekly series of class sessions to build strength, flexibility, and endurance. They teach detailed warm ups that prevent injury and assure muscles are appropriately prepared for class.

The individual training is the best I have received in 20 years of working with trainers. Eric adapts to each client's needs, builds capacity, and focuses on functional strength and movement. Whether you are 14 or 70+ Eric customizes training for each client. He is an exceptional motivator. Not only have I built strength that I notice in every day activities, but I have eliminated recurring strains and limited mobility in shoulders and ankles.

During Covid this team developed highly successful zoom classes and a terrific app-based program. My and I are in our 70s. We are using the app program that includes weekly Zoom check ins. It is terrific.

The entire TFW-South Metro experience is energetic, welcoming, and upbeat. I have previously belonged to two large clubs in the Twin Cities and had access to a private facility at my former employer. I prefer TFW-South Metro to all of them. (Updated Dec 2020)

I have been training with Eric Parent and Reid Peterson at TFW for about a month. These trainers are so motivating, inspiring and always push me to get stronger, faster and to keep setting goals for myself. The program at TFW has the perfect mix of strength training, speed training (sprint work), endurance and flexibility. I absolutely love the atmosphere, the people, the friendships, and the hard work these guys put into this program. I hit a plateau before joining TFW and now after only ONE MONTH...I have seen results and feel stronger, not only physically but mentally as well. Bad News and Good News about Eric’s new digs in Savage. Bad news is it’s right next to SONIC and it’s way too easy to drift over there for bacon cheeseburgers, fries and malts. Good news is it’s right next to SONIC and it’s very easy to drift over there for bacon cheeseburgers, fries and malts. So I have love/hate relationship with the location, but after ten years of working with Eric I do not have mixed feelings about this cat. Eric is the real deal. His deeds match his creeds and his enthusiasm, competence and integrity are second to none. TFW seems like a great fit for him, but to be honest he was a great trainer at Lifetime, a great trainer at Crossfit and he will be great trainer at TFW. I am excited. Now he runs his own show, and with that freedom, TFW south metro will be dope. I will add that Eric has also successfully worked with my youngest daughter and relates to his clients whatever their age. I encourage you to drop in and check him out. Eric has changed my life, and I believe in him, and I recommend him without reservation.
PS I only know Reid from a week paddling together in the Boundary Waters. I like his honesty and sincerity. TFW South Metro looks like a solid partnership.

Being raised by overweight parents who would have wrapped me in bubble wrap if they could, I was always told that there was nothing wrong with being active, but that lifestyle "just wasn't us". Now that I am older, I decided that I wanted to change that mentality and become stronger, healthier, and more active - I just didn't know how. I have been to many different gyms and trainers and done many different nutrition "programs", but absolutely none of them have even come into the same ballpark as TFW! The attitude and energy that Eric and Reid bring with them into the dojo is absolutely amazing. They have never once singled me out or treated me as "a beginner", but lead and encourage me through each workout so that I am getting as much out of it as those who have been training with them for years. They know that I am working towards my upcoming wedding, and have never said that I "don't have enough time to reach my goal" or that I "waited too long to start so I should change my goal" - instead, they have always encouraged me by saying that as long as I can get myself to show up, they will do the rest to ensure I am happy and confident on my big day. The support and encouragement I've found at TFW - South Metro is 100% unmatched by any other facility or program I have tried. I can't give this place and these people enough praise!!

Training For Warriors has been a wonderful experience for me. I have been involved in sports my whole life and have always been very active. However, after college I still was active, but I had no direction in my training and began to plateau. I was introduced to the Training to Warrior program and I instantly fell in love with it! Eric and Reid are fantastic coaches who make working out very fun even though you are working very hard! They are very knowledgeable and can individualize the workout for anyone! I recommend TFW anyone who is interested in becoming a stronger more confident person!

TFW is a great place to work out with a group. I have been training for over 5 years doing different things like running, gyms, boot camps, crossfit and etc. and I will say this is the best place I have workout so far. I met Eric and Reid at a local crossfit gym where Eric started the TFW program. They had the program in the mornings during the week, but they couldn’t offer the class at 5:30am because of the crossfit class, so I could only make the Saturday morning class. Then I started bringing my 14yr old son with me he Loved the class also Eric and Reid. He gets mad when he can’t make it with me for other reasons. Those guys are inspiring to not only my son but also me. They both will take you to the next level of fitness.

What you do, who you’re with, and how you feel about the world around you, is completely up to you. So come join us at TFW and get to the next level of fitness with them.

It's not a gym, it's a GREAT program. Everyday is getting you ready for the next. And I mean that. You look forward to your workout the next morning (crazy, I know). If you're not 100% sure, get in there, and say hi, talk to Eric and Reid. Great coaches, and they actually care about the individual. If you're not losing weight and gaining muscle, they will feel like they have failed. They've said this in class. Lots of times for their programs. Get in there.

After successfully completing my first Ironman in 09/2014 and registering for my second Ironman, I wanted to train smarter, harder with strength and better nutrition! I met Reid Peterson (co-owner and Coach of TFW South Metro) in the latter part of December 2014 and eventually hired Reid as my coach for all of my endurance events in 2015. We started with an assessment, began a nutrition lifestyle and began the strength work. I started at a weight of 172 and 13+ body fat% and within 4 months my weight is 151 and my body fat is 6.4%. My overall strength has improved dramatically, my energy is top notch no I'm pretty badass in their TFW conditioning classes! 5 more months until my 2nd Ironman with 3 marathons and countless training days ahead of me. Sure I'm the one executing at the events, I'm the one doing the training bug without Reid as my coach and Eric Parent as his co-owner and coach watching out for me and my fitness abilities, I wouldn't get to those finish lines!! I have been training with Eric now for several years, and he is by far the best personal trainer and coach I have ever worked with! Since TFW opened up and having the chance to also work with Reid, they are an unbeatable team with an energy and motto that no other gyms can match!

Also being a member of the Minnesota National Guard, I greatly appreciate the support they give to Firefighters, Police and Military members with a 20% discount for that! I've never had a gym give that much of a discount of appreciation for those fields!

I am a 32 year old mom - I have a demanding career, have two young kids and like most moms, struggle to find time to work out and take care of myself, but since I started training with Eric and Reid and the TFW system 8 months ago, I feel better than ever! I have found the motivation to prioritize myself because Training for Warrior (TFW) program is a fun, challenging and results-based program. I saw strength and conditioning gains along the way, which has helped keep me motivated. In addition to that, I decreased my body fat %, gained more energy, slept better and overall, have have become much happier. The coaches/trainers Eric Parent and Reid Peterson are a huge part of the reason I have stuck w/ this program - they are fitness and nutrition experts, do a great job coaching and helping me improve and make TFW a fun place to go and get trained. What I love most about TFW is that it's a complete program - if I go 4 days+ a week, I will get a complete workout from strength, conditioning and everything in between, given my busy lifestyle, that's exactly what I need. Going to TFW is sort of like getting a personal training session with an amazing trainer, but without that price tag - all I need to do is show up and Eric/Reid have already done all the work to plan out the training session for the day...no thinking on my part about what I should/shouldn't do (which I love), just an effective use of my time and one less thing for me to have to worry about. I have exercised and been active my entire life. Treadmills, elliptical, walking the lakes, rollerblading, biking, BodyStep, etc. I thought I was somewhat in shape. That was until I met Eric Parent last June. He introduced me to an entirely new fitness program - TFW. I absolutely love it and can't get enough! TFW is a mix of upper body strength training, hurricane days (sprints), circuit training, and lower body strength training. There is also a Primal Movement day mid-week to keep moving with exercises, such as bear crawls, rope climbs, hand stands, etc. The program is structured to work your entire body throughout the week. Eric and his business partner, Reid Peterson, are excellent at what they do. Since I began working out with Eric and Reid, I have not done the same workout twice. To me, that is very impressive. Eric and Reid put tremendous thought into the workouts and work extremely well together. They make certain that we warm up properly before getting into the real work, that our form is correct and push us to push ourselves. They really bring out the best in all of us. I am so happy they are now in Savage!! You have to give it a try and you will be hooked!
