I found this yoga studio by recommendation of a friend, and got a great deal on a 2-week class package (was 14 days for $14... what?!!) I had never experienced a deal that good in a yoga studio before, so immediately I appreciated the intention of the studio to provide access to yoga in the community- even if just for a 2 week trial.
After my 6 classes, all with different teachers, I noticed that there is importance for all of the classes to have some basis/teachings of yoga philosophy. This is amazing, bringing awareness to how we integrate yoga into our daily lives.
All the teachers I had really emphasized the option to always trust your body and do what feels good for you, as their instructions are only suggested guidance. This was key because there are many "Power Yoga" class options during the days, which are great for people wanting a workout... but is nice to be reminded that you dont have to do what theyre telling you to :D plus I noticed that the Power classes varied a lot depending on the teacher! My personal favorite classes were the Yin and Slow Flow in the evenings.

I would definately come back to this studio!

I had the privilege of taking a class as a apart of the Vuori team. It was a restore type class and our instructor was Ahndi. I loved that she shared Buddhist teachings during the class. Also the studio is gorgeous. Lastly, I got the best sleep that night, and woke up feeling so at peace. This is a very special studio and Ahndi is an awesome. If I didn't live in Plymouth I would consider joining. Highly recommend!

A friend told me about this place over the summer but it was the 2 week trial that allowed me to explore and fall in love with this studio. The variety of teachers and classes, flexible class times and inclusive/welcoming community was what I was looking for in a routine change, esp during the winter. I love more than anything that to have my shins sweat and feel like I’ve been rung out - invigorating. I missed this type of practice after 15ish years. Lastly, it’s a clean studio and kind space.

I’m new to yoga, and this place is slowly changing my life. There are plenty of advanced students in the classes who can do handstands and other unicorn things, but no one judges my wobbliness or the fact I still don’f feel sure what a fish pose is. All the teachers are super supportive and knowledgeable. It is a safe space! I hope to make room in my budget to practice here indefinitely. πŸ₯°

Wow. The community at UP yoga is SO different from my experiences with other yoga studios, especially corepower. The instructors make an effort to get to know you, learn your name, and make sure that yoga is accessible to everyone. I feel honored to be able to practice here with such an awesome group of people. Can't wait to grow my practice even more, and get stronger and more clear of mind. Thanks Kelsey, Lindsey, and everyone else!

Such a cute spot! I took a hot power class and it was good but not too hard. There was a smell from the class before I’m assuming but the studio room is tight so I’m sure the smell is stuck. Would go back for more classes!

As an absolute beginner to yoga I was terrified. But all of the instructors and students made me feel welcome. The classes are truly all levels and I don't ever feel left behind even if we're doing a new pose because they often give step by step instructions. If you ever are having trouble, or have questions the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend this studio. It's been a wonderful introduction to yoga.

Up Yoga is an excellent studio. I started practicing here about a year ago and they meet all my check-boxes for a yoga studio: lots of available times, no mirrors in the room, great physical workout, teachers that bring personal experience and spiritual wisdom into their practice, and an open and accepting environment. I also recommend checking out their workshops and events. So much to learn outside of a regular yoga class!

I joined Up Yoga a year ago, and it’s been my favorite yoga studio in the twin cities so far! The instructors are what makes this place so amazing. They are kind, compassionate, creative within the practice, and incredibly knowledgeable. One of my other favorite parts about this studio that really sets it apart is how well the instructors guide others to embody the practice instead of just going through the motions. Even though I feel like I’ve been doing yoga on and off throughout my life on an occasional basis, I don’t think I’ve really embodied the practice until I got to Up Yoga and had instructors who guided me to understand how to be embodied within the poses instead of just going through the motions of the poses… and of course, this lesson has extended beyond my mat as well.

A true gem in the neighborhood and the cityβ€”a lot of places talk about community, but Up truly is one. This is such a well-run studio. It's consistent, comfy and clean. It smells good. There are nice details everywhere that make it awesome, like spray bottles of mat cleanser so you can clean off your mat after class. They tend diligently to the lighting, circulation, sounds, fresh towels, clean floors, and it's never hit-and-miss. You can depend on it. Their heating is not the usual air-based with ducts blowing air; they use radiant panels. It's quiet and feels like the sun. There is low turnover and the teachers are all awesome.
Oh and the workout. It feels amazing. This is real power yoga.

This gem of a Yoga studio brought me back to in studio yoga after a long 3 years. The experience is like no other I had experienced in the past, it feels like a true community. The attention to detail given whether it's from the hands on assist cards, or the cold towel given at savasana, not to mention and above all the outstanding teachers with their wealth of wisdom...this spot is a forever gem for me.

Jes Stulc is an amazing teacher! I took the UpBeats with Jes class today and it was a lot of fun! The class was super easy to follow along. The Vinyasa practice flowed very smoothly!
Jes incorporate a little humor which allowed me to losses up a bit. She was very personable and friendly. I would definitely return. The only downside has more to do with location, the parking lot is extremely small and parking on the street is stressful with all the snow.

I tried UP Yoga on Class Pass and have fallen in love with how I feel after each practice. The teachers are kind and inclusive, students are friendly, and the studio offers a great variety of times which is nice when your schedule is less predictable. I took Lindsay's class for the first time two weeks ago and signed up for the same one within 24 hours. This is a lovely studio offering Baptiste style yoga in South Minneapolis. The teachers are great overall and the community feels welcoming! I love a good heated studio and Up does not disappoint! Be prepared to sweat and challenge yourself. I love the encouragement to expand your practice with an emphasis on incorporating inversions into the sequences. I've consistently improved under this type of instruction. Get ready to get stronger, more flexible, and more confident in your yoga practice. I'm not giving it a full five stars due to limited class variations and a lack of diversity in both teachers and students.

Edit: the studio is no longer an affiliate of Baptiste; they've also expanded their offerings and have more variety in class styles! They provide ongoing opportunities to connect with community and advance in yoga training and knowledge :)

I really love this studio. The instructors are incredible, the space is clean and welcoming, and it’s a great workout. The only thing I have a hard time with is how many people talk in the studio before class begins. The studio room echoes and it makes it really hard to focus and ground before the instructor begins teaching. I can literally hear everyone’s conversations. I have never experienced this in a yoga studio before; previous studios have a sign entering the studio asking students to not talk. I wish students would socialize by the front desk before entering the studio and be more considerate of others.

A friend invited me to try out the new student special and I surprised myself by going 7x in two weeks. It’s that good. I’ve really enjoyed all of the instructors and the overall energy. The community is vibrant but not suffocating and most importantly not intimidating as I am definitely still new to the practice. Reintroducing hot yoga into my routine especially in the Midwest winter has been a blessing.

When I moved to Minneapolis I waited almost a year to try to find a yoga studio. In October when I finally ventured to a studio, I’m so glad it was Up! I didn’t have to try anywhere else. I quickly found my home here. Their instructors are amazing, welcoming and allow you the flexibility to do what you need in class. You can find both the most challenging class and the most restorative in a single place. Can’t say enough about this phenomenal community!

One of my favorite places in Minneapolis and my favorite yoga studio of all time. I’ve been practicing vinyasa yoga since 2006, and Up is legit.

I've only been to Up Yoga twice, but it's great! The teachers are so welcoming and knowledgeable and it is a very cute/relaxing space. The other students in the class are very skilled which pushes me to try more things, but there's also no pressure to do so, which is nice if you're a beginner.

Loved my first experience at Up! I signed up for the new student special and was warmly greeted upon my arrival. The studio offers mats and towels for rental, it has spaces to change and shower, and provides cubbies in studio for belongings.

Evan led the Up Beats class I took. He was sure to help orient me to the space before class, provided on-hand assists (to those of us who requested them), and followed up with me afterwards to hear about my experience. I loved the flow, the demos, and the intention he shared. Already signed up for another class. Thanks!

Up lift your mind, body and soul at this amazing yoga studio. As a man, yoga studios can be an intimidating workout option as statistically more women than men participate, but all bodies are welcomed here. Up yoga has helped me not only grow as a yogi, but as a person, and becoming a member here is one of the better investments a person can make. Lindsay, the owner, and all the other spectacular teachers will help you to be the person you want to be.

Where do I even begin??
A friend of mine invited me several times to join her at a hot yoga class. Each time I was either busy or didn't feel like going. But, one week, I decided - why not? I had NEVER done yoga before, let alone walked into a studio, or knew anything about hot yoga or the Baptiste methodology. I also had previously suffered a knee injury and was unsure of how it would go... I fell in LOVE! I felt comfortable as soon as I got into the studio and signed up for the unlimited month for new students - talk about an amazing value to start getting better at it and beginning to feel more comfortable in the difficult poses! Their hands-on assisting (currently not being offered) really helped me get deeper into poses, without making me feel inadequate.
Since COVID, UpYoga has done an amazing job of communicating through social media and their email list. I have felt informed about their online offerings, and now their outdoor and studio offerings. The only bummer is last month I moved away from Minneapolis and won't be able to be in their studio in person anymore.
Thank you UpYoga for empowering me, helping me fall in love with yoga, and moving my body again!

I am a yoga instructor myself and have taught many places, but have never felt like I was part of the community. Up Yoga is hands down one of the most amazing communities that I have practiced. I have searched for years to find a place like this and I have so much gratitude to have found this studio. Try it out and you'll be hooked! They offer a month of unlimited yoga to new students for only $40!! You won't regret it!

This studio is amazing! It is a Baron Baptiste certified studio so the majority of the classes have a high intensity focus with breath. (Also called power yoga.) It’s an amazing workout and also feels relaxing.

The staff are SO nice and friendly, they know my name well before I know theirs, and they genuinely care about all people. They will do hands on assists and adjustments but you can always opt out if you talk to the teacher ahead of time. They also give out cool towels with essential oils during savasana (resting pose) at the end, so let them know if you need one that is unscented.

Classes are held in a heated room which feels amazing in the winter especially but you sweat buckets, just be forewarned. They have some slower classes and a couple that are restorative as well. They have special classes and workshops many weekends as well. There is only one studio the building, but they have an entrance space with places for jackets and shoes and boots, two bathrooms, two changing rooms and also two showers. There are cubbies in the studio too, and you can store your mat if you are a monthly member.

You can pay for one class at a time, buy 5 or 10-packs of classes, or get a monthly unlimited (or a year unlimited!). They have discounts for teachers and active military.

Highly recommend this studio, I’m a yoga teacher myself for the past 6 years and this is my favorite place to attend!!

Up Yoga is more than just a yoga studio, it’s a community of amazing people coming together to try and better themselves every day. Lots of workshops, reasonable rates (and they do specials all the time), and a fun, non-judgmental atmosphere. I’m fairly new to yoga, and the help and support of the staff has helped me along my yogi journey a LOT! Definitely give this place a shot. The first unlimited month is $40... go to 2 classes and it pays for itself. No brainer.

By far one of the best studios I've been to in a long time. I don't care that it takes me more than 15 minutes to get there--it's 100% worth it. I don't even look at who is teaching the class, just pick a time that works for you and go!
