Woodbury Barbell is a truly unique gym. Nick, the owner and coach, rotates among a maximum of six individual stations, assigning exercises and giving feedback. The setup feels like personal coaching but has the cost efficiency of small-group training. Each person follows their own individualized program.
Nick is an outstanding, knowledgeable, and motivating coach. The training focuses on the four main compound barbell lifts for strength: squat, deadlift, bench press, and overhead press. These are typically supplemented with accessory exercises to round out the hour-long sessions.
The welcoming environment fosters a strong sense of community as well.

Woodbury Barbell is a place I walked into 18 months wanting to feel like me again at 43. Nick is so welcoming and makes sure you feel apart of the gym. While you build muscle, he is teaching you about food and how to incorporate that into your routine to achieve results. Days that I don't feel like going, it provides an accountability aspect that I really wanted and I always leave feeling accomplished! I highly recommend Wdby Barbell, it’s given a piece of me back that I missed!

Woodbury Barbell is a great place to work out. It is always clean with lots of equipment organized, with pre-planned equipment ready and close. Nick is friendly and knowledgeable. He is ready and willing to answer even basic questions. Nick is very supportive, giving every person individualized attention regardless of their experience level. The people who work out at Woodbury Barbell are a friendly group of all ages and skills. I started at Woodbury Barbell in September 2023 as a complete novice. I’ve never felt unwelcome or discouraged as Nick has helped me make great progress in my weightlifting.

I never thought that I'd be the guy to use barbells to train. I'm was more of a total workout with dumbbells kind of guy. However, once I decided to give Woodbury Barbell a try, I discovered how effective barbell training is. My strength increased dramatically and not only did my posture improve but my physique changed. I now look and feel better than I did just two months ago. Nick taught me the difference between training and exercising. He is simply an awesome trainer. He is patient, knowledgable, understanding and very friendly. With Nick's training and coaching, I also discovered how much I enjoy strength training.
Woodbury Barbell is by far the best gym I ever went to. It's not crowded or intimidating. For us older folks, this is probably really important. Nick is always attentive to each person he is training and always has a smile for everyone. You won't go wrong by joining Woodbury Barbell and train with Coach Nick!

So many great things about this place, but it all boils down to one thing: the owner, Coach Nick. He meets every client where they start, then pushes them in exactly the way they need. No judgment, no hype, just personal attention (on his part) and hard work (on your part).
The atmosphere is extremely welcoming, clean, positive and supportive. The equipment is everything you need (and more).
I’m so much stronger, more flexible and more confident since I started lifting with Nick. I can’t believe how far I’ve come. Whether you’re already super fit and want to push yourself to do new things, or whether you can’t even do a squat (that was me when I started a year ago), Nick’s the best!

I had a major hip surgery nearly 6 months ago (Labral repair with 4 anchors, Acetabular Rim decompression, Subspine decompression, Synovectomy, Femoroplasty, and capsular repair). After being told I would be back to work after 6 weeks and on my 12-week post opt appointment being told I would continue to be out of work a minimum of 18 weeks, I was beyond frustrated. Frustrated with therapy and my care team. I contacted Woodbury Barbell, and began seeing Nick, owner and personal coach. I quickly learned that negative thinking was not going to be tolerated. Nick is knowledgeable, supportive, patient and motivating. The gym itself is spacious, has a wide variety of equipment, and the other clients are fantastic! It’s a positive atmosphere that breeds hard work. I can’t thank Nick enough for taking me on as a client, working with me to strengthen my hip and body, getting me back to work (after just 4 weeks), back to the life I want to live, enjoying the activities I love, and improving my pain by the day!

I never thought lifting was something I could do but Nick is incredibly knowledgeable and very patient. Since training with Nick, I’ve seen my body changing and becoming stronger and healthier. He has given me confidence to do things correctly and efficiently whether it’s training with him or working out at the gym by myself.
I’ve seen how strength training has helped not only in my everyday life at work and at home with my kids but I’ve also seen how beneficial it has been with hobbies that I enjoy. I love hiking and it has helped build my muscles and endurance to go for longer and harder hikes. I also love doing obstacle races and I’ve seen how it’s helped me accomplish the obstacles I’ve never been able to do before and run for longer periods of time.
I highly recommend Nick as a trainer!

Nick is such a phenomenal trainer and coach. With his constant watchful eye , he has taught me how to use the proper lifting techniques to avoid injury. In two short months of training I have increased the amount I can lift (bench press, squats, deadlift and overhead press) by two fold. I now feel stronger doing my everyday tasks and have more energy. I am so happy I chose Nick to help me with my strength training.

Nick is great! I have been working with Nick for a couple months and I am feeling strong! Work is easier, I am skiing faster and my adjustments at the Chiropractor are less often. Woodbury Barbell is awesome!
