Absolutely unbelievable how unprofessional this gym turned into.. No advance notice of closing. No emails or calls. Just show up and see a sign saying I’m now a member of planet fitness.. I hope planet fitness didn’t pay you a dime.

No wonder this store closed the way they took care of things. How hard is it to run a gym? I mean close the pool down, clean it and the gym pretty much runs itself.. especially after my rates went way up. Main reason I went here was for the cheap membership and great amenities. Now you’re just a big joke.

I never backed out of emails and my email has never changed… plan and simple someone didn’t do their job which is probably the reason why you guys had to close.
Sending our memberships to planet fitness for some sort of money grab is disrespectful and very distasteful but seems to be par for the course from what I’m hearing. Best of luck..

Came on Labor Day for a workout, and realized the gym is permanently closed without any notice ahead! Our family’s membership just renewed about 2 weeks ago and no one mentioned anything about this coming! Totally shocked and disappointed!!!!

This gym is closing and they think they have the authority to transfer our memberships to planet fitness. In no way am I ever joining a planet fitness. You don’t have anyone’s permission to make that switch. We would have to sign a new contract with them if we choose to do so.

DO NOT transfer my membership. I will choose where I will go.

You can’t just close a location and tell people they have to work out in a new location. It has to be our choice! If the building was staying and only the name of the building was changing, it might be a separate issue. However, to completely change our memberships without our consent is wrong.

Would not recommend this club to anyone. Went up to the club to cancel my membership with the general manager specifically beginning of 2024 because I was moving out of state. They continued to charged my account because they had no “proof” in the system that it had been cancelled.

Paul DeLange (Director of Member relations) has not returned any of my emails or phone calls in regards to this situation and all they want to do is continue to charge my account when I don’t even reside in the state of Minnesota. This issue is very concerning and should be more than enough reason not to choose this as your club.

Business has some positive and negative aspects:

Pros:
- Variety of equipment
- In person class offerings

Negatives:
- Locker room areas are not clean and broken lockers need repairs. At times it is hard to find a locker that will actually lock.
- Billing team - Over period of account being in a short term freeze and then cancelling, account was billed in error multiple times. The last billing issue took corporate stepping in to resolve the issue, however that did take a couple of weeks from initial contact to resolution.
- Price increases - Basic membership has doubled in under 2 years. New membership tiers now have moved some services from the basic tier to a higher tier. With this pricing for certain services have quadrupled in price within 3 years.

You get what you pay for. The instructors and trainers and staff are what you would expect from a typical strip mall gym. This particular location does struggle with cleanliness it has gotten better . However the collage and high school crowd from 3 pm to 8 pm stay away they camp on the weights and equipment. No gym etiquette. The staff response is they pay to use the gym just like you.

I joined this gym and paid $50/month because they had a red light machine.
I was not able to access any of the other services, and the lockers were often dirty, at least once the staff locked the doors an hour early too.

But I was never too bothered by it until I tried to leave and they charged me an additional $60 just to do so. In my opinion that's no way to treat someone who has been there for a long while and paid lots to go there.

UPDATE 7/9/24
They charged me an additional $50 and never Waived the late fee like they claimed. In total I had to pay $112 just to leave. I did not even have access to the gym for the extra month they billed me.

They may have been within their legal rights to do this, but this doesn't make it right, or a good way to treat a long time customer. These are not good people and they run a bad gym stay away

Not a good gym if you have kids. Our son was not properly supervised in the Kids area. He was left by himself in the kids area while the staff left (he is 3). Many times he is left to watch tv alone and we have come in to find him watching things inappropriate for his age. We have also picked him up and found his clothing on incorrect. When asked about supervision guidelines the manager told us "the staff have to be in the kids area but there isnt a policy that they have to be able to see the kids at all times, or that they have to play/interact with them". They have also increased our fees without notifying us prior.

I have repeatedly emailed the manager 2 weeks before it was closed asking to freeze my account. STILL NO RESPONSE. I am beyond frustrated, the management of the facility is very poor. 3 months and still machines not being fixed. Horrible job cleaning. Consistent theme from reviews. Clean up the facility. Response from management is weak. Actions speak louder than words.Front desk staff is friendly. I am Not looking to freeze my account. That was three years ago. The gym is an absolute mess . Nice gym, but the floors - especially in the locker rooms - are absolutely disgusting and are dying to be swept before being mopped (*see clumps of hair along all edges). You've got lots of employees, which is great, except they don't do much besides "hello!... Have a good day!" when the machines and floors could be cleaned much better and more frequently. Love the gym if it was better kept.

I started my fitness journey 6 months ago at Xperience fitness. Sales person did a great walk-through. Gym does has many options for cardio and strength training. Equipments are clean and in working condition.Gym does provide lots of group classes and trainings.Bathrooms and locker room are clean. Front desk people are very welcoming.I workout with trainer KyLan. He is an awesome coach who knows to push you to your limits and above.And I love the hydro massage after workouts. I highly recommend Xperience fitness!!

Update 1/9: Having staff post reviews saying how “clean” it is in the last few weeks doesn’t change the fact that the locker and bathrooms are still FILTHY. The gym itself is nice and mostly clean, but come on guys. Your “cleaning list” is clearly not doing anything. You need a company to maintain the locker rooms if you aren’t able to do so. With 5-10 team members working at a time it blows my mind how no one sees these things.

If they did, they would take into account previous reviews and attempt to rectify the issue (“talking to management” hasn’t done anything). The locker rooms are absolutely disgusting: walls filthy, floors grimy, urinals reek, and even the hand dryers are so full of dust and dirt. I can’t even wash my hands because 2 of the 4 sinks don’t have working soap dispensers and the other 2 are out of soap. It’s appalling, but what do you do.

I gotta say the gym has everything I’d ever need besides the lack leg machines, I couldn’t find hardly one at all besides two. I’ve hurt my shoulder multiple times so I’m unable to squat with weight on top of my shoulders at all. Besides that the gym is absolutely amazing and way more than I expected. I was hoping I would get a tour of where everything is but didn’t. I like how everything is set up. Only thing I have to say is that the locker rooms were kinda messy. I’m new to this gym and the first thing I see when I walk into the gym was trash and things on the floor. But other than that this has to be probably one the best gyms I have ever been to besides not being giving a tour of where things are and having to ask other gym goers. Also to say it’s super nice to have them greet you when you walk in and out of the building

A large part of customer base is of the age that still needs visual reminders in every corner to encourage them to do courteous things. Like, “Rinse off before using pool,” “wipe down workout areas when done,” “pick up after yourself,” “throw your trash here!” More importantly “don’t wash your dirty sneakers in the poo!l” More words of edict on walls in locker rooms and pool /sauna area would be appreciated. Locker room consistently smells like ripe gym socks. Staff need motivation or training on how to operate a mop and broomstick and less personal cellphone time on the floor. Pool water (tastes like pure sweat). Pool is clearly not getting proper chemical treatments! Sauna users are frequently seen dipping in pool or dangling their feet in without using adjacent shower to rinse off prior. It’s not a public bath tub. Kids club has nothing to entertain kids of reading level or older. If kids could have a corner to read or do homework and an area for mat exercises that would actually provide a great deal of function. If you read other reviews you will see repeated comments of cleanliness issues and the things I noted. They don’t have designated janitorial staff on during operating hours! Updating apps holiday hours would be appreciated!! Pool ph is definitely not getting corrected daily! Swim suit spinners/dryers would help with cleanliness. Adult leadership/management/oversight/presence needed. I must give credit for the many fitness options they provide. Staff are friendly and most alway welcome you and say good bye. Pricing is generally hard to beat. So, why am I a member? I got 2 years for $198. The sacrifice is definitely cleanness. Will definitely reevaluate when promotion period is over. Hopefully things clean up by then because it’s has everything one needs.

I've had membership with Xperience for 4 months and after trying to cancel online I was told I can only cancel it in person. I go to the gym and then they try to make me stay and upsell me for freakin 40 minutes! I explained I'm moving out of state and I literally just want to cancel that's it. Once they realized they couldn't keep me, the dude just stopped talking to me, typed stuff into his computer and said "Ok you can go now." No paper work, no confirmation of membership cancelation and just walked away. Absolutely ridiculous. Stay away.

Fix the sauna light switch. It's been broken for many months. I have asked to have it fixed multiple times. The lighting was much better when two of the lights were burnt out. Now all four lights stay on constantly and make the sauna clinically bright, the complete opposite of how saunas are traditionally lit.

Great gym for the price. Every time I go there I notice that the lockers and the locker room floor is very dirty. It seems to me like it wouldn’t take very much effort for them to clean it semi-regularly and keep it looking nice. Lastly the hours right now are pretty terrible. Especially going into summer, they still close at 8 pm on Saturdays which is way too early. These issues is the only reason it’s not 5 stars.

Best gym in the area hands down. All the equipment is newer, works well, and offers a wide variety of ways to work different muscle groups, the price isn’t to bad compared to other gyms, the staff is knowledgeable and super friendly, and the people and environment are very welcoming. It’s crazy that people are paying $120+ to go to go look at naked old people hanging around the locker room and use sub par equipment from the early 2000’s at lifetime when this place exists.

Gym has everything you need to get a good workout in. Plenty of weights & cardio. Even has a pool & sauna which is cool. Staff is also nice.

Now for the bad. It lacks on the details on cleanliness. Especially in the bathroom. Unsure how much it’s cleaned but it isn’t enough. Also this gym is home to so many people who don’t put their weights away. Other than this it isn’t a bad gym. But bathrooms & showers need help on the cleaning department.

Love my membership here with everything I like to use. Just a few things that turn me off. 1.A lot of people do not wipe the equipment off that they just dribbled all over. 2. The club is dirty, locker rooms, extra bathroom by the back desk, the red light room I always use looks like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. There's always something wrong with the water massages, now I see instead of 4, there is only 3 and one is out of order. And my membership went up, for what? Just got worse!

I tried signing up online 4 times, and each time it said there was an error and to contact the gym employees. I called the gyms phone number that's listed on Google since its impossible to find it on the actual xperience website, and it took them a long time to answer but they finally picked up and told me to try again but to call back if it didn't work and she would sign me up over the phone. I thought that was a bit odd because i have worked at 2 gyms and both didnt allow sign ups via phone because its a security risk with the payment information and you're not able to physically sign the contract yourself so I'm guessing the employee was just going to forge the signature for me? I tried to sign up online yet again, and it still didn't work, so I tried calling again to sign up over the phone, but it went to voicemail. The voicemail said it was the Roseville location, even though I know for sure I called the apple valley number. So I dont know if the employee I spoke with was from Apple Valley or roseville. I tried calling again twice over the next 10 minutes and it went to voicemail both times. I can't make it to the gym in person to sign up before the $1 initiation promotion ends, so I just ended up signing up for another gym instead. Shouldn't be this difficult to sign up for a membership. Wasted a lot of my time.

My husband and I love this gym. It is Affordable, clean, modern, and the staff is amazing. They have lots of programs and classes. We even bring our two girls to the daycare on a regular basis and they do a great job of taking care of our kids while we get a workout in. I would recommend this gym.

Totally scummy business practice. With an overpriced subscription that raises in price without your approval and an extremely unreasonable amount of difficulty in the cancellation it is insane that is allowed. I quite literally cancelled my subscription multiple times but when you press the cancel button their site tends to have "issues" loading. To call xperience theft is an understatement. I recommend going anywhere else. The gym overcrowded anyway you'd be better off going anywhere else. Save yourself the time and money.

This gym is a prime example of 'you get what you pay for.' The monthly fee is very reasonable and all of the employees are kind, however the gym is always dirty, towel dispensers tend to be out of towels, and for the past 4 days none of the TVs have worked because management hasn't gotten around to paying the cable bill. The locker room is rarely cleaned nor are the showers. I've sent multiple emails to corporate and copied the 3 individuals at the top and have gotten zero responses. Clearly they don't care. They know how to own a gym, they just don't know how to run a business.

If you want a clean gym, cable on the TV, and owners who are invested in the gym, I'd go somewhere else, but if you want a gym that reflects the cheap price, then this is the gym for you.

Lifetime Fitness refugee on my second go around w Xperience.

Positives: Plenty of free weights and cardio machines. Free tanning. Lap pool is a plus. I never have an issue accessing equipment.

Improvements: Cleanliness has shown a marked decline since I first joined. The mens locker bay shows a lack of consistent cleaning-floor and lockers are dirty. The shower stalls are gross with hair filling the drains. For those of us who exercise, shower and dress for work on site please attend to this lapse in consistent cleaning.

The personal trainer Bryan in Apple Valley is awesome! The classes he teaches are motivating, invigorating, and really get you a great work out. He is patient and encouraging which I appreciate for a woman just starting out on weights in a gym, also.

Staff are amazing. They are the friendliness and great to talk to. But today they changed up their set up and it isnt the greatest. its honestly the worst. the deadlift platform was moved to the back, which is fine but now theres an audience waiting for you bend to over. Also, and the chest focused machines are too close to the mirrors. makes it awkard.

I had been referred here from my friend so I went to check it out after telling my friend Snap Fitness was closed until 11am. So I walked in to Xperience and got help right away with smiles. The overall vibe was super positive. Dylan helped me and he was friendly and helpful. He gave me a walk thru of the gym and everything it had to offer. I was really impressed and felt good about making this my new “home”. It took about 5-10 mins to set up my membership and download the app. I’m excited to try all of the classes the gym offers as I need help getting back into the fitness world. I hadn’t been to gym since 2018 and after back to back pregnancies, I was really nervous to step foot in a gym BUT, I am so glad I did! I’ve gone every day so far and make that time all about me.

I thought this gym would be a good fit while I work on improving my health and fitness. While the gym seemed great at first there are some things that are not great and the reason for my rating.

First the locker rooms are filthy. Bathrooms and lockers are disgusting. I brought my own sanitizing wipes to clean because these areas never seem to be cleaned ever.
Second we always have to wait for a bench or dumbbells because there are never enough. It’s really busy right now but we will see if that changes with nicer weather.
Third when I choose a time for tanning it’s because that’s the time that fits my schedule. But apparently the piece of paper and time mean absolutely nothing only to verify membership. So it’s super annoying having to wait 30 minutes past my scheduled time. I don’t live nearby so this is super inconvenient.

There are some good things about this gym.
Most employees are super nice and helpful.
Lots of members are also courteous and respectful wiping down machines and giving me my space.

Right now it’s super busy which is understandable due to it being early in the year and the outside weather. If it gets better over the next few months I will review my rating.

I've been a member since Jan 2020. I switched over from another gym because the value of what was available was good for the price. In the beginning they really enforced no bags in the gym area, and wipe down all equipment after use. Now? Not so much. The membership has doubled and the rules are non existent. People tie up two machines ((placing their bag by one, while using another), don't wipe down equipment after use, or sit on a machine while texting for 15-30 minutes without ever doing a rep. At minimum there should be signs indicating rules within the gym (since apparently there is no common courtesy anymore), but also there should be some enforcement. And now my membership cost is being increased? I am seriously considering looking elsewhere. If you are thinking about joining, ask to walk through at the busy times and pay attention to how the members are using the facilities.
These issues are beginning to outweigh the positives(friendly staff, pool, hydro massage) so I hope they take this seriously and make some changes.

If you’re a parent utilizing the kids club good luck with any consistency in their scheduled hours. There’s been numerous times I have called before hand or already had a reservation for my kids so I can workout, just for them to not actually have someone working in kids club so I have to go home or not go at all. Paying close to $100/month and can’t even use it. Honestly paying the extra at lifetime to be able to actually go to the gym doesn’t sound to bad at this point. They said “well our kids club workers are college age so they don’t know if they can get to work in time”. Sounds like management should work on scheduling. Or changing kids club hours, so parents can anticipate when they’re actually open so we can use the membership we pay for. But the gym is nice when you can actually use it.

Unfortunately in this organization the left-hand knows not with the right hand is doing. When I joined, I was turned over to a administrator who scheduled the first three months of training all on Wednesdays. When I later showed the schedule to the trainer, he stated that Wednesday which would not work and that it would have to would have to be changed to Thursday.I agreed. However I still got emails scheduling everything on Wednesdays, not on Thursdays is the trainer wanted. Finally, after a another trip into the facility, I got the trainers phone number and he and I have exchanged messages detailing the problem. I hope it will get fixed soon. I am not a happy camper.

The gym itself is pretty nice. They have a lot of amenities, equipment, and classes.

BUT…..
There a few cons which is why I chose my rating.

The locker rooms and the family locker rooms and pretty dirty all the time. When I wanna change and go swim I walk into a restroom and there always hair, pee, and other nasty things on the floor, chair, and toilet. I’m not sure if anything cleans it regularly or not but they should.

There’s not a lot of cleaning chemical around to clean the equipment all the time, and a lot of people don’t clean equipment. I wish they would enforce cleaning of the equipment more, especially during this pandemic were in. Even if we weren’t in a pandemic is common Courtesy to clean after you use it.

The child care is a decent size and area, BUT… there’s not enough support watching all the kids. There’s only one person there with up to around 8 kids, Iv seen kids snatch toys and bulky other kids in this child care but no one saw it or corrected it due to now having enough support. I wish they had more support for the kids club.

There’s not a lot of classes I was hoping there would be a lot more throughout the day to join.

If I see improvement at this gym then I’ll reconsider my rating.

First off I love the friendly staff!! I feel like Norm on Cheers. Except they call me Randy of course I think. So kudos to Kyle Lauren and Bryce especially!! I love the variety of equipment and I just started the Q classes which are a super great quick cardio!! Way to go Tyler for keepin us going till the end! The only thing I don’t like is how the body scan doesn’t lie and tell you that you look as good as you think you do!! But it did motivate me to change my eating habits and am loosing weight so I guess I even like that too!!

This is Xperience Fitness Apple Valley to me: I walk in the door and am warmly welcomed, usually by Lauren. As I enter the gym area I always run into one of my friends: Luis, Mike, Julia, Ben or Eddie. They are all great employees. Always friendly, professional and ready to help in any way. New member and joined primary for the pool. Most of our experiences have been great but frustrated with scheduling and communication. Pool schedule on the pool door says lap swim all day. Sales person said they keep a lane in during water exercise. We come to find out that water exercise participants will enter and stand in your lap lane 15 min prior to class starting with instructor on deck and instructor will clear pool 10 min prior to class. This is with a total of 4 people at class at this time and 3 lap swimmers. Management needs to be clear on schedule.

This facility has missing/ very limited equipment and accessories weather its straight barbells or attachments for cable machines (doesn't even have a straight bar attachment for curling)the red light and tanning kiosks still aren't up and running .... most of the employees are rude and very inconsiderate for ex. Today I was there and 2 well known employees were hogging 3 straight barbells at a squat rack when they were clearly only using 1 of them I asked if I could take one back over to the bench side and was told that they needed all for their own personal use... and to wrap it up the hours still have not gone back to their normal 24 hr schedule which is ridiculous the plan-demic is over my biggest concern is why am I still being charged FULL PRICE for a platinum membership when the entire facility isn't even back to 100%....
