This place was decent, and enjoyed the location, then they unfortunately suddenly closed apparently, did not get any warning, so rating was a great but now I have to find a new gym; lame, wish they did a better job of communicating this to us.

This Woodbury Experience Fitness Gym needs to put up signs, telling members to not hog the weight machines. If you did a set, and someone approaches you to work in, you should let them have their own set immediately, and then you can have your next set. Worst thing in a gym are people who say , I have 3 more sets and then I'll be done. No sir/maim , you are a jerk, and a hog. You make the gym experience unbearable. Learn to share. Please grow up and don't make me be the bad person, who has to remind you what it means to share a gym. Buy your own weights for home, if you don't know how to share. My time is precious too, and I don't have all day to be at the gym. I've had several experiences where people think they can claim 2 machines. No, you are not 2 people, regardless of how big your ego is. Management has still not reached out to me to solve this problem.

Sketchy move with the Apple valley branch - continue to charging folks to use planet fitness?
Am I entitled for a refund? If I did not want my membership to go to planet fitness? For the months after closing of the Apple valley branch?

Recently signed up online and had my free trainer session. Matthew was great and I will use his services in the future. He made me feel very at ease and worked with my current fitness level.
Sadly after when I said this was my first time visiting and I needed to get what ever was needed to be able to sign in at the front desk no one was able to figure out why I was not able to sign in. But they had all my information. This meant I am unable to sign up for classes yet. Also during the time a gentleman was helping me. Another employee was having some kind of argument with another employee while they sat at the front of the building, and the cursing was little much. I thought maybe for a bit they actually might start fighting.
I was also not given a tour. I was not shown any amenities, or other services provided at this location. The front desk attendant said she knew absolutely nothing. I felt a little lost wondering around. I felt a little cheated out of being able to enjoy a first visit with helpful employees.

Consistently negative employee/ customer support interaction. I have been to probably 2 dozen gyms over the past decade, and this one takes the cake for the worst in that area. The equipment is OK, but not great.

Seems the Theft Problem is back in full swing. The front desk staff really needs to be doing the rounds in locker rooms especially at night and watching who's coming in and not their phones it's the bare minimum c'mon guys. Had a standard Masterlock on my locker. Come back after an hour workout and it's just gone, no where to be found. Luckily I don't leave valuables in my locker and nothing was taken (theif didn't wana risk grand theft auto taking the car keys ey) this gym is already struggling. It's good for the price but if y'all cant keep theft in check it's days are truly numbered.
Also pretty suspicious cuz I looked through other lockers to see if it was just thrown into one and quite a few being used and no locks Like did "somebody" just walk in with a bolt cutter and go down the row smh.

UPDATE:Absolutely nothing has changed since the previous post below over a month ago. I have moved my review from a 2 star to a 1.
The major thing this gym is lacking is customer service. I walk into the woodbury location 3 times a week at various times during the day and week. I can't remember the last time any of the 4, sometimes 5 people, working in the front looked up from their phone or book to acknowledge I am coming in or leaving. I walked out today and every single worker had their head down (not with work) looking absolutely devastated to be there.
I think of a gym as an encouraging and high energy place to go. That is 100% not the experience at this location.

Decent gym for the price. A little run-down, but overall not bad. Suggestions: place more Purell around other than front desk (only seen it there) and move ad banner so it's not blocking AED. Don't want people unable to find it.

I have been a member of Xperience for over 5 years. I am grateful this club survived Covid! I love to swim laps and attend group fitness classes. The instructors have always been very friendly, making everyone feel welcome and always helpful. Steve is an awesome RPM spinning instructor. He has a great sense of humor, knows everyone’s name and gives you a fun, quality workout. My other favorite instructors are Amy, who teaches body pump and body flow. She is always spot on, friendly and in body pump gives you modifications if you need them. Mark is also a great instructor, he teaches body flow also. All of these instructors make a real effort to know their students.

Equipment takes months to fix. Currently 3 pieces of equipment are down one of which has broken consistently so you would think they would have a spare cable on hand. Management is aware because they put sad littledo not use” or “closed for cleaning” signs up. Not sure if they have a maintenance person but if they do they need to find a new one.

I have been a member for many years at Xperience Fitness and usually go to the Woodbury location. I attend Les Mills RPM Spin classes mostly and they are great. Steve, the instructor, makes the classes fun. He talks to everyone, knows everyone's names, helps get people set up on their bikes correctly. He doesn't push or call out people. He wants to to ride at your level. I also use the pool. Employees are the front desk are friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the club.

Pool heater has been off and on for a month, it is currently closed, they just threw a sloppy sign up with no indication when it will be repaired and no apology. Some toilets in the bathroom have been broken since November. Paper towels have been lacking in many places frequently. Staff doesn’t seem to care, often the desk is left unattended or evening staff are goofing off and not paying attention. Body scanner has been broken for months. Staff seems to show no pride or care for this gym.
Class instructors are amazing and as well as a super sweet cleaning lady.

Horrible staff, complete stranger (non-gym member) was able to walk right past front desk and into locker room where he proceeded to break into lockers and steal peoples cards. Local police say this is a regular thing at this gym, I wonder why? Nobody ever up front, constantly packed because this gym will open sign up until every square inch is filled up. Seems like they only care about money since they've only raised monthly prices and gotten worse at the same time. Save your money, go somewhere else.

Good gym with everything you need and friendly sales/membership staff. However the locker rooms are absolutely abysmal and disgusting. I’ve seen human feces literally on the floor and the “cleaning” staff walk past it like nothing was there. Toilets and floors are always disgusting. I see this is a long trend of this gym’s reviews. I’d clean house with the staff personally if this is the level of workload their struggling with.
Update: I will be canceling my membership very shortly. This is the least sanitary gym worst run I’ve ever been to. The staff doesn’t care about anything and just sits on their phones. I’ve seen probably a hand count of times staff actually cleaning over my 6 months here and that is so embarrassing and pride-less.
The locker rooms are still just absolutely disgusting and I see the owners cute replies on here saying everything is being worked on, it’s clearly not and he clearly has no plans of doing anything to fix his business. The Machines are always broken there’s no clamps in free weight area. The gym etiquette is nonexistent and members are extremely rude and have zero self awareness I’ve had my hand stepped on while stretching and the kid laughed.
Anybody reading do not sign up I don’t anticipate they’ll survive the next fiscal year without massive overhaul from the top down including new ownership. If it was possible I’d give this place zero stars, I will be reporting your business to the health department for an inspection if nothing changes, the standard and sanitary conditions are deplorable.

Only 1 rowing machine available and its broken. The chain slips excessively. I've been calling Corp and the facility in Woodbury for 2 weeks now. I've also been telling the staff every morning. The machine has never been fixed or replaced. They had a problem opening on time on the weekends, happened 3 or 4 times in the last 2 months, last 2 weeks opened on time. I really want to like this place as it's close to my house and the hours are great. But it's obvious they don't listen to the members. Weekday morning staff is great and always on time. The rest of the operation is unresponsive to customers and the equipment (rower at least) is unsafe.

This place used to be 24/7 with good equipment. Nowadays they’ve cut the hours significantly, which means it’s packed all the time. I just don’t get how they can justify having stuff constantly broken, raising prices, cutting hours, awful locker room, and no clips for the benches. Been going to this gym for 6 years or so, and it’s not only never been this bad, but it doesn’t function as a proper gym if it’s so busy I can’t use any machines, a bench or squat rack takes 30 min to get most of the time. Going to be cancelling soon because if the only time I can go there and not have to wait for every single thing I use is 4am, it’s not worth it. If anyone sees this, just go somewhere else unless you literally only want to use treadmills. If you want to use weights don’t expect anything beyond the bare minimum. They can say what they want about equipment, but they really truly do not care about the state that it’s in.

I really enjoy this gym, reason why I love coming here a lot is because I found out they offer hack squat, v squat and tons of machines. Only minor issue it gets very busy no matter what time it is. I was wondering they have a room that I really wanna go inside and I wanna go stretch and use the equipment like barbells and dumbbells they have inside but it seem like it's only for a class? every time I walk pass by it's always empty.

Overall I’ve had a positive experience at this gym. The gal who cleans in the mornings is very hard working and keeps the locker rooms and floors clean. The few classes I’ve attended have great instructors. My BIG complaint is that when I was looking into gym options, I was told by the sales person at Experience that you could do drop-in child care without signing my child up for the monthly care. This was a big draw to me since I won’t use childcare often. I came in today and was told this is NOT an option and was basically called a liar by the same sales person (Mason, I think) who sold me my membership. Since I had notes from when I compared memberships, I looked back and found this info. He insisted he would never have said this and that it’s never been a thing. I believe he told me about drop-in care in order to get a sale, hoping I’d never actually try to use it. His customer service from the beginning was questionable and now I know I should have talked to someone else when signing up. You may want to speak with a manager if you have questions about membership benefits.

Nathan and his manager (don’t know his name) tried to kick me and my guest out of the club back in Aug 2022 because they thought we were sneaking in. Because we’re Black. We never got an apology for that terrible experience from him or his boss. Nathan works at the front desk so he’s always standing there during the times I come in. Since Aug he always has something smart to say to me when I walk in. He makes me uncomfortable and he knows it. I finally asked him to stop and he flat out refused. When I asked to speak to the manager he refused. This is a serious customer service issue. If I were a white woman asking staff not to talk to me because it makes me uncomfortable there would be no questions asked. Sadly, because I’m a Black man getting harassed by a white man I am get zero customer service and zero consideration despite the fact I pay the exact same membership dues as everyone else. I really hope the decision makers at Xperience understand their new management at Woodbury is awful. Nathan’s behavior is openly racist. At this point the only reason I continue to lift at this location is it’s the only gym with the equipment I need close enough to my house to fit into my schedule. I won’t be racially bullied I to finding a new gym.

Very poor culture. People are not racking their weights. The machines are constantly broken. People, sometimes in groups of 2-4, will hang out on one piece of equipment up to forty five minutes, on their phones, talking to each other, completely oblivious. The management has no desire to do anything about it.

I have only been a member for a week but here are the pros / cons compared to a YMCA for instance:
Pro: much more affordable, younger clientele, plenty of machines, has a small pool and sauna. Easy to sign up.
Cons: not always as clean as I've come to expect from military gyms or YMCA [entryway looks a bit desperate / not inviting] and locker room not always clean / smells like BO at times / very slippery with gloss tile in shower area -- and after multiple surgeries while on active duty, I really don't want to slip? Younger people don't even often use the showers and just go home sweaty to take their shower at home, so this may be a generational thing with demanding cleaner showers / locker rooms?
As retired disabled vet / military and used to a lot of calisthenics it would be great to have a padded area to do this or stretch vs. the hardwood floor. I see a few matts but padded floor areas are not that expensive to install?
But in order for my wife and I to have membership at YMCA, it is around $130 whereas Xperience has membership +1 at around $50 so are the cleanliness / padded areas worth an extra $80 each month? No -- and yet these would be small investments to make the place seem more inviting to middle age / older clientele?

Joined the gym Fall of 2021 and loved everything about it then. Not sure if they're under new management/owner. However, the gym seems to be falling a part, especially in the locker room. A couple months ago, there was no hot water, thus I had to take a cold shower before heading to work. I was a regular user of the cyrotherapy, but they've now reduced their hours on those services and haven't seen anyone use it as of late. Their water fountain also broke and didnt get it back up for a week. Most recently, the shower drains in the men's locker room was backed up, flooding the area and reek of smell. Small chat with previous workers seem unhappy too, there's a high turnover rate with staff. I hope they can turn things around; I've started to shop around for another gym.

I do really like this gym, especially for the great price. The equipment is well maintained and there is a great variety of options and I appreciate the open space and the staff is very friendly. My only complaint is the locker rooms are very poorly maintained. Hair all over the showers and countertops, lyme and rust build up, trash left out, and just not clean in general. In one instance, there was no toilet paper in either stall and no paper towels in the one dispenser so I had to walk out to the gym floor to grab paper towels to finish my business. If the locker room were better maintained I would surely rate 5 stars.

I’m giving this gym three stars because I find it extremely average. If I could do half stars it would likely be 3 1/2
This gym is very busy at peak hours. I understand that this is not the gyms fault, however I feel that there is a lot of wasted square footage throughout the building that could be utilized to space out equipment more/purchase equipment.
The “wasted” Square Footage:
This gym has three private studios that are only accessible with a premium membership/during classes, Cryotherapy, Body scanner and shake stand (that I have yet to see open). I understand that these amenities are in place to incentivize premium memberships and drive a profit for the gym but for me personally I would like to see the space reimagined a little bit in order to benefit the common member.
All in all I am satisfied with this Gym but I believe there is potential for improvement

This review isn't for the gym itself, but for their third party billing process. The gym was great before Covid shut it down. We paid extra for the kids club, $22.40 a month, an acceptable price for the service. The problem is they kept billing even when the account was frozen for 6 months during the pandemic. They kept charging after when the gym reopened but the kids club remained closed. They kept charging when we canceled our membership, and they kept charging after we called them when we discovered this all a few weeks ago. Their customer service agent said they needed written permission, from our nine-year-old, to process the cancelation. We can't even use the kids club without a corresponding gym membership, so it's literally $363.80 for nothing... wow.

They do not provide adequate cleaning supplies. In the class area there are 2 bottles of disinfectant for 15 to 25 class participants.

Honestly, this gym is amazing. I have traveled the country and been to 100’s of gyms. The thing that impresses me the most is the management. For Justin and Billy to be able to maintain such a high quality gym with such a shortage with staffing is nothing but impressive. Kudos to Justin and Billy! 5 Stars all the way!

Went along as a guest several times nearly two years ago and over the past year have received text messages about offers even when they explicitly stated that they only needed my phone number to check in. How many times have I tried to stop notifications? Apparently not enough. First off, the gym had a horrible smell which is why I didn't want to return. The equipment was grouped so close together that I thought it was a potential safety hazard. Lastly, when the person I was a guest of attempted to close their membership, it took weeks of phone calls to finally close everything down and get refunded.

I used to go to this gym. The pros are that it is cheaper, the classes are great (body pump and body step were my favorites), and there are a ton of machines so you can always get one. The cons for me was the cleanliness. I tried to just ignore it and figure I was in a gym, but I am a swimmer and the pool is dirty; the floor has brownish stains and the water has a bad smell that I couldn't get over.

The actual fitness facility is fine. I had some issues with cancelling my account but after a few emails we were able to get it resolved.
Pros: Affordable gym that has most equipment you will need
Cons: Difficult to cancel, make sure you read your cancellation closely to make sure you are not accidentally put on a freeze

The gym is super cheap compared to every other gym in the area, which is why I stay a member. Staff is friendly and helpful, they always greet me and say goodbye. Overall tho, the gym is very dirty - my hands are brown after using the equipment! Some of the equipment is also out dated, some machines are missing number for the weights etc.

My Family and I have been going fir almost two weeks now and the gym is awesome. It’s always clean with open machines. The staff is always in hand to answer question and their cryo-chamber and additional services are amazing. The pool is down right now but when it opens back up I look forward to doing laps in addition to all the other great workout options.

Have used the shower room and found out it’s not cleaned. I deliberately use the same shower room to see if it’s clean. Same dirt I saw a week ago is still there.
Also, on gym equipments, paper towels used by someone else are not picked and I have seen it on at least four equivalents. I like the place but I think it can be cleaner than what it’s now

The longer I sit and think about my first interaction with the employees at this gym, the more I cringe with embarrassment. I have been looking for an affordable gym around Woodbury for rainy days where I can run inside, and for free weights on days I need to lift heavier. I signed up for 'try our gym for 5 days' and received a prompt phone call and text message from Eric that same day discussing a time for me to stop in- I appreciated the quick response! When I arrived at the gym I went to the check in area saying I had been in communication with Eric about coming to look around the gym- the receptionist calls over to a gentleman sitting by some desks and his response was 'Uh, I'm not even working today. I'm not supposed to be here' and carries on with his conversation with another employee. First red flag coming from someone in retail management, and just the first unprofessional comment. She then had me sit while she went to find another rep- no problem at all. After 5-10 minutes the employee Eric had been sitting and chatting with finally came over and said she could just start showing me around the gym. She was nice and tried to explain all of the rooms and equipment, but wasn't too knowledgeable but I appreciated her effort, especially since I knew what I was looking for. She then walks me over to Austin and asks if he can continue the tour and his response was, 'Yeah if you want to go tell this big guy he can't workout here. He's really big and black'. Yikes. When showing a new guest a facility I would recommend not speaking about other gym goers in-front of customers, especially in that manner....Austin then took me on a nice, long spiel about cryotherapy and how it burns ways more calories than working out and that it is the best part about the facility. Yet again, yikes! No wonder we have an obesity problem in our country. I can't believe a gym (or any fitness center for that matter) that 'supports health and wellness' would push a quick fix SO hard. I was honestly blown away. I finally said I'm really just looking for treads and weights and don't need all the additional things- and again, coming from a retail manager, totally understand it's your job to upsell and push the most expensive package, however it felt like he had zero training on how to do it appropriately. He eventually took me over to a desk, took out a piece of paper with prices (which were different from the woodbury website) and basically said it's cheapest for me to sign up today and the best deal is the most expensive monthly package. I said I really only need the basic package as I run outside most days and go to Orange Theory 3-4 times a week. He then proceeded to tell me to forget orange theory, this is a much better deal, he doesn't understand why I'm not signing up right now for this. My level of comfort was already at about a 3/10 and it immediately dropped to a 0. I don't know why I didn't just get up and leave. He also was having a hard time explaining the yearly fee and why it came out my first month, but shared it was contract free. I finally said I really just want to try the 5 day thing to see if I like the facility, and he looks at me with a blank stare asking what I was talking about. I pulled it up on the website and he goes 'oh yeah yeah, I totally forgot about that'. After realizing he wasn't going to sell me anything today, he filled something out on his computer and handed me a card with the barcode and said 'here ya go, this is good for 5 days' and said nothing after that. No, 'stop by and we can chat after your workout' or 'I'll follow up with you after your 5 days' literally nothing. He sat there pouting like my 5 year old at home. Again, not sure why I went and worked out after that but I needed to burn off some steam. The facility was fine, the equipment filled the purpose I was looking for, but yet not a single word was said to me on my way out. The un-professionalism was completely mind blowing, and I swear none of the employees were older than 18/19. This is NOT how you create guests for life at your gym.

I've been a member of the Woodbury club since it was firmally Golds Gym. Since Covid they've only been offering 1 RPM class. I've been calling weekly to find out when RPM will be reinstated Monday thru Friday again and no one seems to know anything. Twice I've been rudely talked to and over trying to get and update on the class. I pay my membership faithfully and really enjoy RPM over any other classes offered. If you can't bring it back then I might as well just cancel my membership.

I'm not usually a regular gym goer but I'm glad I joined. The staff are great and I like the amenities that the facility has. I am never bored. I have come to enjoy physical activity as part of my routine and miss going to the gym on off days. I feel more educated about my health and body thanks to the staff and trainers there. The gym is very clean and COVID safety protocol is enforced but mostly the members do so without reminders out of respect. As someone who would regularly join a gym and then never go, I am saying that I find value in the highest priced membership (orange card).
My only complaint because I do have one.. the hours are too limited. I hope they'll stay open later in the future!

I would not recommend this gym. A short whoever that head guys name that helps you sign up does not let u know all the information. I was recommended by a friend and I would come with her and her friend all the time, but when I go with my siblings to go workout I can only have one guest since when. All they have is bad communication those men were literally slow and no females on shift. I was very disappointed in the Asian short guy that where’s a orange shirt he charged my older brother while I was upgrading my membership like why... he had too while I was upgrading the membership. They really had no communication at this location I was very disappointed and only had my membership for a week. All of them need re training. I am very disappointed in this location. Bad communication and they just need to communicate. I would not recommend this gym. Deangelo is fine asl tho and he was very helpful and was patient with me cause I definitely got upset but he stayed patient. I canceled my membership that same day. Bye bye short Asian man that had no communication... that location is trash.

Billy Vang and all staff has treated me with respect and professionalism. Last week on Friday, I was confronted by a disgruntled member who was upset that I was dropping weights on my deadlifts. He confronted me multiple times and stated that it was a gym rule. I stated that it’s the first time someone confronted me about this nor am I aware of this rule. He quickly got staff member, Billy Vang, involved. Billy was very professional and handled the situation nicely. Billy made me feel comfortable and part of the Xperience family. The other member was displeased with the outcome and left the gym sulking. I don’t normally say this but Billy is an outstanding staff at Xperience. He always puts a smile and gets to know his members. He is friendly and a hardworking person. I always see him around the gym being busy. Billy literally is the face of Xperience, Woodbury.

I am very disappointed with the unprofessionalism of One of the employees. I pay for the orange membership and wanted to bring a guest since I pay for this feature. I’ve never tried to use it until today and one of the employees said this wasn’t allowed and that my guest had to pay for a membership to come in. I called after my gym session because that didn’t sound right as I have been attending for over a year and they did confirm that there are no restrictions with the guest pass and that anyone can be your guest. I find this completely unprofessional and a sketchy attempt at money grabbing. It was really disappointing.

Very unprofessional customer service. You need to be diligent on billing statements!
I got charge for Orange membership when the guy at the club mentioned that I will not get charge when I downgrade to FIT within 10 days.
I have been trying to call the customer service support and they never pick up the call.
Communicating via e-mail and they mentioned that they are charging me $37.99 per month for FIT membership whereas they advertise it for $22.99.
After I explained it to them, they never responded me back via e-mail. Still never pickup the call.

Be diligent when reviewing the billing information. If the enter your info incorrectly, you will not know until it is too late. Then good luck getting it corrected. Also, any questions regarding accounts have to be handled through their ABC financial company, very confusing. Most of the staff was okay, there a few that have an attitude and look like they would rather be anywhere else rather than training you.

What you get for the cost of membership is great. The locker rooms are clean and love the classes. My only complaint is the lack of space for free weights as some others have said. It can be intimidating/annoying to try and share the weights with a bunch of young guys trying to bulk up.

*update*
I had to finally contact my credit card company in order to stop payments. I had to file a complaint to get them blocked. Finally they canceled the card altogether and issued a new account number. I got collection letters for months. Nothing ever showed up negatively on my credit. Don't let this company intimidate you. And never give them access to your bank accounts. The only reason I was able to stop the payments was because of the wonderful customer service from my Discover card. Their complaint department mentioned previous issues with this type of company and eventually they'll be blocked from getting payments from Discover. So if their sales department mentions they don't take Discover any longer, please see that as a giant red flag.
*original post*
Poorly kept up facilities, rude staff. Not looking forward to the run around of cancelling my membership. (Canceling a membership is a giant pain. They won't let you cancel over the phone. You must show up, in person, to cancel so they can try and talk you out of canceling. When you do show up, you have to meet with a manager, who will likely not be there and they'll give you a number and tell you to call and make an appointment, or something to that effect. I will NEVER join another gym after this experience. They got 2 years worth of payments from me for the 4 times I actually made it to the gym. I would have been better off buying a treadmill and staying home.)
