The communication here is absolutely terrible. Management seems more focused on squeezing extra, unnecessary money from members than actually providing good service. The gym is overcrowded, and half the equipment is usually out of order. The only positive thing I can say is that the person next to you on the StairMaster might be friendly β and thatβs about it.

Really enjoy the gym! Been across the country in gyms and they have great equipment compared to others, keep up with it well, fairly low prices, red light therapy etc. Only downside is that it gets busy with the college town and some of the high school swarms get obnoxious with behavior and sitting on equipment for long periods of time!

It takes months to get machines repaired, and they break pretty often. The water fountain/bottle fountain took weeks to get fixed. They need more space. There are way too many members for that space. They need to buy the vacant building next door. And the roof leaks. All. The. Time. It is cheap and thatβs why I go.

My husband and I have been members of club4 for the past 3 years and have had a multitude of problems with them, but this one takes the cake. I was cold called today after being out of town for the past 6 months - told that they had noticed I had been inconsistent and absent in the gym, and wanted me to come in to get my body fat percentage calculated so I could see where I was starting and they could discuss with me how to improve that and how to be stop being inconsistent in the gym. (Did not use BMI, specifically said measure my body fat). Absolutely wild to cold call your members and make them feel bad for being inconsistent at the gym. I have not even been in town for the past 6 months, and I should not have to explain what causes inconsistency to a gym Iβm paying for.

Update: You can ignore their response below. Do not go here. Nothing has changed and they are now asking me to pay $576 for personal training sessions I am not present for. Currently going back and forth over email.
Total scam. Had the 6-month PT contract, paid ALL 6 monthly payments. Froze my membership bc I don't even live here anymore. Randomly started sending me emails that I have an outstanding balance. Started charging my card without telling me what for. Verified via my bank account that all payments were made. Asked them to tell me what the charges are for. NO response. Called. Spoke to front desk guy who was nice but had to refer me to his manager. Manager had no idea what was going on. Kept asking what the charges are for and she kept avoiding the question and just said I owe $288?!?! Still don't know what that amount is for. Said she would call me back. NEVER called back and instead woke up to a notification this morning that they attempted to charge my card AGAIN. HORRIBLE!!! Read the other reviews, ppl say similar things.

I have been a member here since 2019. Recently, I was inquiring about downgrading from $20/mo to $10/mo and was told that if I did so, that I would be paying a $89 downgrade fee, and I would be locked into a year contract. I have never heard of a βdowngrade feeβ in my life. That is an awesome way to patronize your customers by penalizing them when they need to downgrade since everything is so expensive now at days. I need to pay for groceries, now I have to pay yβall $89?? Not only that, as of recently the cleanliness is subpar. The bathrooms smell like a fish market, and everything is sticky. When youβre out on the floor, it smells bad as well. I consistently never see employees cleaning, just talking and cutting up at the front. Many machines and equipment will be out of order for months. Itβs just an OK gym, but for the priceβ¦we will be looking at going somewhere else. But Iβm sure thereβs a cancellation fee!

Came to Starkville from Dallas to visit my son at Miss State. Wanted to workout while in town. Charged $15 for a single day when a monthly membership is $25. Iβve been to other Club 4βs that charge $15 for a 3 day pass. Very disappointing, I feel robbed. I give 2 stars just because I did get a good workout but Club 4 Starkville you need to do better!! $15 a day for out of towners visiting their kids at State is a scam!

My wife went there to talk to a manager because we were charged for a annual fee on top of a monthly fee on top of a card payment fee. The membership was supposed to be canceled. And when she went up there they told her she had to call a company named peak. Once she talked to them. Peak told her that she had to get the refund from the gym. When she went back to talk to someone. The MOD was rude and wouldnt give her any information to talk to someone above him since he was being rude. Worst gym and employees.

Only 2 stars because the equipment is good. I was in the middle of my set and the βgeneral managerβ came up and took the equipment off of my machine. According to him, the equipment meant to be used for heavy weight is βtearing upβ while Iβm using it. He didnβt say anything at first and just took it off of my machine. Worst management I have ever seen or experienced. There is no reason why he should be acting that way and should at least be nice about it. I would have very much respected him if he told me what I was doing was βtearing up the equipmentβ in a nice and calm way, however, he was as rude as possible. Approaching your customers in a nice and considerate way changes a lot and is not very hard to do whatsoever. Extremely unprofessional. Please heavily consider getting a new general manager because, very obviously, this one has no idea what he is doing, and doing it in an extremely unprofessionally way.

They will fee you to death. Had a debit card stolen and called bank to cancel. It just so happened to be the same day my monthly ACH would be deducted. Instead of allowing me to change the card, I get a $20 additional charge. In addition to the $2 charge per month for using a card and $50 per year something fee, etc.

I visited this gym twice last week while I was visiting the area on a business trip. The gym had everything that I needed. The equipment was fairly well kept and the gym gets bonus points for being open 24/7 by card access. I definitely recommend.

I downgraded my membership from the $25 package to the $15 package in person with an employee. The paperwork was conveniently lost and the gym charged me for the $25 package for 8 months and I had no idea. I never got my money back. If you end or change your membership here, make sure to follow up, donβt trust that itβs going to be complete on their end. I would say take a picture of the paperwork, however they changed completely to the app, so I donβt think they do in person cancellations anymore.

I have worked in the gym industry for years and have been in a lot of gyms and this gym has had the worst customer service by far. The management just cares about making a dollar and will not want to work with the customers. The gym itself is nice and some of the personal trainers are GREAT, but the managers are no good.

Most abundant, high quality equipment and upkeep that I've seen in a gym in this area. Cannot beat it. The price is also very good, with lots of benefits and value for every tier.
The only critique is that they need to roll their sign-up and other fees into the monthly cost or remove the extra charges all together. People will find the membership wildly more tempting if the first two months didn't have a $40 or so extra charge. It's unnecessary and disincentivizes snap membership decisions, increasing the friction of getting a membership harms those who have less motivation to go, these are the people who need to go the most. Having said that, I have to say that the gym is so high quality that I don't so much care, I only mention it as a matter of principal.

It a nice 24 he gym. The staff is pretty friendly. You always get a friendly "hello" and "goodbye". Just like any gym there are a couple of meat heads who like to hog gym equipment. But majority of the time you can find equipment similar or you can watch the screen which play music and give exercise advice.

Club 24 accounting Staff is the worst ever staff. As I was moving out of Starkville, I had cancelled my Membership back in January this year at the front desk and pretty sure the reception staff cancelled it in front of me and informed me that the membership would end by end of January 2018.
However, my account got charged the membership fee in february as well as March. February can be understandable as there is always a month of advance notice required for cancellation, but March membership fees was also charged.
When confronted with the accounts team, they say they do not have any records of me cancelling the membership in their system and they are not willing to refund me the money charged.
I loved the club and its facilities, but their response to this situation is totally not acceptable. How anyone is supposed to know that they would have to fill out a cancellation request. The front desk confirmed to me that they had cancelled my membership after I had swiped my fob and asked them to.
