I went to planet fitness for the first time yesterday and worked out for about 4 hours. I have the free summer program for students pass. When I arrived the gentleman at the counter was very helpful in explaining where most things would be located, how to operate the lockers, and was overall helpful. I went around for the first little bit after I arrived and explored the bottom level. I saw all the encouraging quotes everywhere and actually felt motivated. I also felt like I wasn't being judged for once. I used some workout videos on the second level in the stretching area to due some basic warmups and stretches. The videos are super helpful and the trainers on them are very encouraging. The gym was also very clean and organized. Positivity in all directions. I will definitely be returning when I get the chance!

Im 52 years old, I travel for work, and I go to Planet Fitness is all over this great country. & i've never been harassed or focused on so hard, just for coming in and taking a shower and wanting to buy a Gatorade and sit in the massage chairs...

& I visit a Planet Fitness 5 times a week, in 6 Different states depending upon where I work ..

I was just visiting the area and needed a gym for a week. The staff was nice and calm. The gym is clean and I had no issues with any of the gym members within my week there. I would recommend if you need a clean gym and to focus on yourself with no judgement.

Deleted my 5 star review in place for this more appropriate 1 star review. Overall, their staffing is passive aggressive and lazy. I must admit it does seem pretty cool to get paid for sitting on the floor, behind the front desk, doom scrolling on social media though! This adult daycare of a club just isn’t for me anymore. They allow children in for free most every summer, despite major safety concerns. Beyond this, they are also not charging the adults who are accompanying children. Since this is the case, and the gym environment is becoming more like clown-world with racial profiling and discrimination. It would be nice prance in whenever I’d like without a membership and terrorize members with no repercussions.
After 6 years as a member of PF, I can safely say I have tried every other gym in Hattiesburg, and none of them are this lawless. Best of luck PF Hattiesburg, you’ve been on the steady decline since losing Piper.

I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for about 2 months now and this is the first time I’ve come and they have not unlocked the doors. I just don’t understand how you guys open at 4 am but still have the doors locked at 5 am. It was many people waiting in the parking lot for the doors to open and they never did, extremely unprofessional. I think I like Crunch Fitness better.

I'm giving 5 stars because 1- they have a lot of equipment and it's partitioned off into different areas without being too compartmentalized 2-they have a lot of windows to let natural light in 3-it was very clean when i took the tour. I did not consider joining when I realized that all of the equipment had been "updated" to the Matrix line. The Merit Health Wellness Center, Crunch, and PF all use this line and it is terrible. It lacks range of motion and works only a few muscles (makes me feel like Sophia Petrillo walking with her purse...). Anyway, I hope that in 5 or so more years when all the gyms around here decide upgrade equipment again, they'll consider higher quality lines like Precor, Life Fitness, and Nautilus. I feel like I don't get anything out of my time spent on the Matrix machines.

Major pain trying to cancel a membership. We started the membership in another state and they told us we had to go to the home club to cancel. Then, they said we could change the home club on the app in order to close it there. We go home, as it was getting late and we had things to do. We try to change the home club on the app and the app says we can't do that because the membership is less than 90 days old. Call the original club and they were able to EASILY and QUICKLY change the home club to this location. 🙄 Go BACK in to this location and got it canceled, however, we were eyerolled at when I told them the inconvenience of doing all of that and acted like it wasn't a big deal. It WAS a big deal to have to go in to a location TWICE because the personnel at the desk didn't thoroughly get information from us to try to help us the FIRST time we went in. VERY ANNOYING. Most of my reviews are positive, so I hope management takes this seriously. I will not ever join this gym, nor will any of my family members again. I'll also be sure to let everyone I know how difficult it STILL is to cancel a membership with this gym. Join the Y, or goto the Merit Health gym instead!

I loved how Reid really helped my son, his therapist, and me today. He went out of his way to help us. As a parent, you never know if you are doing anything right. My son's physical and mental health is important. I was so nervous, but Reid helped us feel at home, and my son loved working out so much! We had a great talk about nutrition on the way home. I would not recommend this facility The manager is not willing to admit that one of her employees made a mistake where it cost me 50 dollars. But seems the company needs my money more than I do. An don't trust the these calls are recorded because when they are in the wrong they will not go back and listen to the call to ensure the problem.. will never recommend plant fitness to a single soul

Planet Fitness in Hattiesburg, Mississippi is more than a gym, it is a community. I was impressed when the general manager and other front desk employees remembered my name, checked me in, and seemed generally interested in talking to me. The facility itself has two floors of well-maintained and clean exercise machines and enough free weights to go around. In fact, the Hattiesburg location recently received new cardio equipment and a refreshing water fountain. I made a habit of using the free, quality, and friendly personal trainer, Reid, who increased my motivation to come to the gym, helped me reach my fitness goals, and set me up for a lifetime of easily-customizable workouts. A week or so ago I had a concern about an issue in the men’s locker room. I went to the front counter and described the situation to Clarissa, who explained that they strive to make every member happy and she apologized for the inconvenience and said she would do everything she could to resolve the issue.
I wanted to give her a shout out here because she was so professional with me and that can very hard to find sometimes. Every time I talk with her, she shows what Planet Fitness is all about and she always shows the highest level of professionalism. Great job Clarissa 💪

The real problem is that I joined a 24-hr gym and haven’t had one for 2-1/2 years. Come on PF, everyone else has long since gone back to normal hours. If you don’t plan to do so, say so and I’ll move on.

PF Hattiesburg is a great place to get you’re workout in. There’s a wide variety and generous quantities of machines and cardio equipment. A little extra space the free weights would be more ideal but over all it’s nice gym with excellent value considering the membership cost.

I have the black membership which is great if you travel often as I do. Though my membership is in Miami no issues getting in.

Staff was friendly, place was clean and the equipment was well maintained. Plenty of parking and easy to find everything. Other than that it's a well stocked standard planet fitness.

I'm disabled with Fibromyalgia. When told I needed physical therapy I decided to try Planet Fitness instead. For $25 a month I can workout, get a tan, and a massage. That beats a co-pay and meeting a deductible any day. The staff is always laid back and professional. The staff wears masks, and I've never had an issue with anyone coming in my personal space (6 feet). I always see them cleaning the equipment too.

I called Planet Fitness today and "John" was very helpful with answering all my questions. I was really pleased at how patient he was with me in answering each question I had about the membership and the services offered, given I've never been a member of a gym before, lol.
