Starkville PF is likely the cleanest public place you can visit. The staff are incredibly attentive to the entire facility, patrons and equipment. I hear the staff use guest’s name entering and leaving.

Planet fitness has a history of double charging but we never thought they’d double charge yearly fees, which they should be very helpful on considering their reputation. They kept double charging and not being helpful so we decided to go to club 4

I’ve never felt so humiliated at a gym before. I brought my boyfriend in with me to sit while I used the Total Body Enhancement, not knowing it wasn’t allowed. Instead of politely informing me, the woman at the front desk completely lost her cool and yelled at me in front of everyone. She raised her voice, made a huge scene, and made me feel small and embarrassed for something I genuinely didn’t know was a problem. Her attitude was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. It honestly ruined my experience and made me question coming back. No one deserves to be treated like that—especially over something that could’ve been handled with a simple conversation.

If I could rate it with 0 stars, I would. I've been a black card member for under a month and absolutely regret joining. The night staff, is horrible and very unprofessional. They were walking around with their shoes off and sitting on top of the counters. They never have answers to any question that is asked. Just random young adults lounging around. It was 5/6 employees just sitting around laughing and playing.

In addition to that, they told us that they could not turn on the national championship game and the gym was nearly empty. A group of white guys came up to the desk and surprisingly, the game was turned on. After the group of guys left, the black male employee turned it off. They stated that they had to turn it off before the next manager clocked in. A clear indication of discrimination among different gym members.

I joined at the beginning of January, and have to say, I love it! This location is very clean, well-managed, and the equipment is quite nice. There are all ages and fitness levels represented here. I see everyone working on their own journey. It’s such a comfortable atmosphere and I’m so glad I became a member!!

I have been attending Planet Fitness for over 6 months now. I have gone at different times and on different days of the week. The staff is always kind and attentive. If you have a question or problem, let them know, and they get right on it. The bathrooms are ALWAYS clean. I only have a simple membership, so I don't know anything about the other services.

It's a very simple gym. There are treadmills, stair machines, and various exercise bicycles. Most weight lifting is done on machines, but there are few weights. If you are a black card member, there are sun tan rooms, massage chairs, and beds. Bring a lock for the lockers in the change room or use the wall of temporary lockers in the exercise room. The Planet Fitness app is required. To check in, click on "check-in" in the app and scan the screen at the desk as you walk in. Be nice and clean machines after use.

I joined specifically for the red light therapy in the Black Spa as another weapon in my arsenal to fight long covid. I walk in the door in jeans and the workers know I'm not there to workout but it doesn't phase them a bit. They are still just as nice and helpful as ever!

Don't get a black card if you plan to have it short term. They let you upgrade from a regular membership on your phone anytime, but require a signature to downgrade because it's "policy" and charge a $49 fee to do so, even though I just paid the $49 yearly maintenance fee ~3 months ago. It's a decent place to work out but all of my interactions with policies/management have been at least slightly unfortunate.

Every employee here has been so nice and welcoming! Planet fitness is a much more laid back gym than others. You can work out as intense or light as you need. The one in Starkville is always clean and well maintained.

I’ve been going to planet fitness all around the US. And have yet to have any issues until I came to this location. They don’t allow the black card guest to use the black card spa. Even though it does not have any information anywhere. I didn’t know anything about it.Even on the app it does not specify that my guest can’t use the spa. Definitely won’t be coming back to this location again.

Starkville locals, if you have considered joining gym you should GO NOW and check out Planet Fitness Starkville. I have been a member of one in Birmingham for many years and let me tell you, all the equipment at your location is brand new and the improvements made over the years are awesome! The machines keep track of how many reps you’ve done and it has a built in timer, the treadmill display is great, the belts are quiet, the headset connections don’t short out. You can watch any of 10 or more tv’s while doing cardio, typical. The facilities were exceptionally clean and tidy. Employees were very friendly and showed me how to get started on a few new pieces of equipment. Sharing photos of the different areas inside. Last 2 photos are for the upper level black card members (still a great price). This level includes the massage chairs, meditation/private relaxation room, hydro massage bed and many other perks. I think the current basic membership is $10 and the black card membership $24.99 at time of sharing this (Su 2023).
I joined Planet Fitness Birmingham in 2014 and have always been pleased. Now I also love this location! You can find it in the Starkville Lowe’s shopping center.
