This is one of those gyms that you travel to go to if you don’t live close. The owner, Keith, is not only extremely knowledgeable about fitness, but also very passionate. I can’t recommend this place enough for any lifter of any shape, size, or goal. Bodybuilding, crossfit, powerlifting, and all types of training inbetween are covered here. Also cleanest bathroom I’ve ever seen at a gym.

I was in town visiting family for Thanksgiving and needed to burn the extra calories I consumed. Thankfully, Spartan Barbell and Fitness was open and offers day passes for only $10. They had a good amount of equipment and everything seemed clean. Without them I would have had to skip leg day. If I lived in Brookhaven, this would be my gym.

Thanks to Spartan Barbell and Fitness for helping me in my journey to turn my calves into cows.

I came to Brookhaven for a business trip and was initially worried that I wasn't going to be able to train since I powerlift and the workouts/equipment can be more specific. Needless to say, I am so glad that I found Spartan Barbell and Fitness because it exceeded my expectations!

The facility may look a little small from the outside but there's a huge area in the back for crossfit with plenty of space. The inside has plenty of machines as well as a deadlift platform with different kinds of barbells (for specifics, I'd check out their website or call them). There's also AC which is such a lifesaver during the summertime in the South.

I paid for a week pass ($30) and was able to comfortably carry out my workouts that revolved around squat, bench, and deadlift. During my time here, I had the privilege of meeting the owner and he was the definition of Southern hospitality. I really appreciated how kind and welcoming he was and the amount of love/passion he has for the gym and its members really show- the people who workout here all had amazing vibes! Not to mention, the gym had dragonball Z decorations and anime playing on the TV so I knew right from the get-go that my gym experience here was going to be awesome haha.

Aside from everything I mentioned, the bathrooms are super clean and I absolutely loved the amenities that were provided. They have a sauna too!

Overall, I am so happy that I got to experience working out at Spartan Barbell and Fitness. I did not think I was going to stumble upon this amazing gym out in Brookhaven but I'm very glad I did. Whether you visiting out of town or a local and want to have an amazing gym experience, Spartan Barbell is the place to go!

I have tried so many different gyms, this is hands down the best one! It has something for everyone at any level. Im a runner and I love CrossFit but hadn’t worked out in two years and I’m finally back to closer to where I was thanks to spartan! There is such a wide variety of equipment, the staff is also super amazing. They are there to answer questions if you have any! I recommend spartan to everyone!

I bought a membership last week for a month and the start up fee was $50 which is already crazy. I travel the country for work and I don't ever remember a start up fee let alone a $50 start up fee. I agreed to it wanting to work out that day thinking the $35 monthly fee would be included in the start up fee. Come to find out out it wasn't so I called up to try and get a refund because $85 to work out for a month is crazy. I only worked out 3 days and they wouldn't give me any type of refund. I'm a veteran and these are veteran prices I cant imagine what the fees are without the discount.
It won't let me respond to the manager's comment so I'll edit my original comment. I'll start off by saying that you're aware that you're charging people $85-$90 to start working out the first month and that's insane. I used to work at a gym before traveling for work and there wasn't a start up fee there. I went to a family owned gym in another state that charged me $5 for a keyfob and $25 a month yet the owner tells me the $50 start up fee covers the keyfob like it costs $50. You tell me all of these things are standard gym fees when they aren't like the 30 day written policy to cancel. I've never heard of that. As for me being rude I never yelled or talked down to you I simply explained that I misunderstand the start up fee wasn't apart of the monthy payment and asked for some type of refund after only working out 3 days. I didn't get one and so I simply explained you'd be getting a bad review and I'd finish out that month I paid for and I told you to have a good day and hung up. If that's rude you don't need to be in the customer service industry. When you called me back I actually thanked you for calling back and trying to work something out, but you offered me $50 a month instead which is more than the monthy fee already is and the manager even told me the day after that wasn't even a fee and I told you if that's the best you can offer no thank you. It seems like you don't even know your own fees.

It's a great place. Even if you're nervous to be in the gym, the people here, staff and members, are helpful and very nice and encouraging. They know me by name when I walk in too. It's a great place to grow no matter where you're at in your fitness journey.

5 stars just isn’t enough to rate Spartan! They deserve way more. It is a very clean and friendly facility. They always speak when you walk through the door. That in itself speaks volumes! I absolutely love the equipment I use whether it be to gain muscle, get my cardio in, or just to de-stress. They have ALL my needs covered!
