Horrible experience, you will be pestered by unprofessional staff. Management seemed to handle everything we addressed but the old men they have working are like weak little boys who can’t make eye contact. Weak men, wouldn’t recommend

This past weekend we had a two day, Veteran Golf Association tournament on the Pine and Cardinal courses. The course and practice facility are top notch, the greens were rolling true and fast. The only problem was I showed up with my small support dog and was charged an additional $12.86 for for my pet and to have our own cart. If my wife or nephew was with me I would not have mind the additional cost. I understand the business side of profit at a golf course but to charge someone with a support animal was a little over the top for me, plus there was a veteran in our foursome that had his own cart and did not pay the extra for it. This affected me so much that I refused to play the second day of the tournament. I spoke with the Pro Chris Altese about the charge and he told me they had to charge and there was a lease law on the course which was fine until I saw a dog running on the fairway. I was just done after seeing that and being charged. Again the course was great, just be prepared to pay extra if you are a single with a support animal.

Day 2 of our annual NOLA golf event. DiamondHead was suggested from the NOLA pro shops so we made the journey. It was fantastic. The team that helped us online was great and in person even better. We started and 1 and were back at dinner by 9:00 so the travel wasn't bad. Great track that supported fun gambling.

Here for son's 6A MHSAA state golf tournament. Course is nice. Good facilities.
They severely limited cart rentals for spectators. Said we could bring our own, but we live over 300 miles away.

They competitively bid for this tournament only to give the middle finger to the parents of the participants.

Played the Cardinal course this weekend and had a fantastic time! Greens were immaculate and the overall course conditions were great for $45. Wish there were more refreshment options at the turn.

Nice course!! We’ve been here several times over the years and were down a couple weeks ago with a couples group. This place goes the extra mile on hospitality. Thank you so much. See you in the fall!

We live in Gulfport, we make it a point to get here for lunch and dinner when ever our friends are in town. The view from the outdoor patio is phenomenal and service is always impeccable.

This was absolute worst experience I’ve had playing golf. The greens were horrible with holes everywhere and patches. The group of 4 behind us called the club house just to have our group of 5 split up into 2 groups to only make things slower.. so eventually the group of 4 went on ahead of us 4 holes later after they split us up. I wonder why? Maybe bc they SLOWED us down even more! After they went ahead we then had to wait on them!! In the meantime we are being rushed 3!!! more separate times bc of this group of 4 NOW ahead of us!! We had a 3 hour pace for 5 people. I know from experience that is a great time for 5 people. It’s safe to say I WILL NOT be back. Too many other nice courses to enjoy.

Our group played the Cardinal today and it is in great shape. Greens are perfect.
Staff very helpful and friendly as were the members. Club furnished us a shrimp boil after the round and the royal reds were scrumptious. Highly recommend this club for your next outing.

Very disappointed. Course hosted tournament for high schools along the gulf coast on 3/8/2021. NO carts available for parents or grandparents to rent to watch there children or grandchildren play. A lot of the β€œOLDER” are NOT able to walk the course. Needless to say they had 6-8 carts just setting at the pro shop for the members to rent. Count me out ever coming back here. Come to shell landing to see how you are supposed to cater to people.

It's a nice course. Everything went well until another group caught up to mine. I was approached by another golfer from the group behind us who claimed our cart was too close to the green. It wasn't according to the staff we talked to later. She continued to tell us to hurry. I asked her if they wanted to play through, but they declined and told us to just hurry. The whole interaction was off putting at best, but I wasn't interested in returning the negativity they were serving. From this point until we were approached by staff, the group behind would yell at us to hurry any time they were waiting. Keep in mind we asked them to play through.

We continue to play a couple holes when one of the staff approached us. He drove by us and told us to hurry. Civil discourse doesn't involve a quick drive by. We stopped him after he had passed us and explained the situation. Overall, the conversation was neither healthy nor productive. Ultimately, we were told we could get our money back or skip a few holes and continue playing.

We tried to offer reasonable compromises, but it appeared the decision was made before anyone even talked to us. After we talked, the staff member watched over us like we were doing something wrong. It's unfortunate because the narrative of the situation was controlled by the rude people behind us.

We ended up getting our money back. I think this whole thing was unnecessary. Rude people like the ones I experienced ruin the community culture.

The staff acted appropriately for the situation. I understand where they were coming from. It's just unfortunate we were targeted. I have no intention of returning to this course.

I hadn’t played here in years, but I have played the courses 4 times in the last year. Friendly staff, two lay outs to chose from And both are nice. I played the Pines course most recently and the greens were rolling great. Good test of golf, I’m a 7 handicap and played from both the white and blue tees and the course was a nice challenge from both.

I even played in a local member event one of the times and the folks were friendly and made it an enjoyable round. The pro-shop is friendly and they have a great selection of items for sale, many brands.

The bar and restaurant are nice nice view. I had the blackened fish sandwich and it was very good.

UPDATE: Last time I was on the Coast I Played the Cardinal Course at Diamondhead after the greens had been recently redone. WOW! They were rolling great. Beautiful layout, fewer homes on this course v the Pines. Really nice to have two 18 hole options.

I’m only putting one star because I couldn’t put zero. The residents at this course are atrocious! If you hit a bad ball and try to retrieve it they will come outside and chew you out for looking in there back yard. We only played 9 of our 18 because we were so offended. Never coming back.

Went swimming at the club pool with my family and it was very nice clean pool and I loved the kids side of the pool. Just right for my youngest one can stand up in the without worrying him drowning. Of course great for parents to lay down next to our kids. Recommended this pool. Staff very nice and always on guard for anything.

For some reason I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the course and very nice clubhouse and staff. I'd recommend this to everyone in the area - we played the Cardinal course and really liked the beauty of the course.

Diamondhead Country Club, rated 3-1/2 stars, is home to two public-access, championship golf courses: the original Pine course was followed 10 years later by the generally higher-rated Cardinal course. Both courses were designed by Earl Stone. Worth visiting if you are in the area.

Terrible experience, local members pushed our foursome ( all us 12-14 handicap, played from the whites, 6100 yd. ) all day. They all had there own carts and was playing from the ladies or seniors tees. We played the front nine in an hour and a half and was told by the marshal to pick up the pace. By hole number twelve the group of locals were hawking there horns at us. We ended up playing the 18 in less than 3 1/2 hours and we still weren't fast enough. It looked to be a nice track of land if only I could have taken the time to see it. If you try this make sure you tell the starter you don't want any members behind you. Good luck

"MUST PLAY"

As a Gulf Coast golfer for many years I can definitely recommend Diamondhead's two championship golf courses to anyone looking for great golf with very competitive pricing. DCC's Cardinal Golf Course just completed a renovation/facelift in 2014 and the Pine Golf Course has hosted the PGA Champions Tour Mississippi Gulf Coast Resort Classic qualifiers for the past three years. Received 4 star rating from Golf Digest.
