At the beginning of 2025 I was drunk one night and paid for a membership at this gym. A few weeks after paying for membership I tried to cancel because I never ended up going to this gym. The front desk/ whoever I talked to on the phone would not let me cancel my membership unless I had proof that I moved either 15 miles away from this gym or had like a doctors note. I never even set foot in this gym but they took me to collections because I didn’t want to pay $200 to keep continuing my membership even though I was trying to cancel. It is what it is now though but because of this establishment I am not going thru any big corporate gym. If you are reading this comment find somewhere else don’t go to this place

Let me preface this review by saying a few positives:

This is a nice gym, everyone who works there seems to have a great attitude, and it’s clean.

Now for the negative aspect I experienced:

My husband and I moved to the area and went gym searching. This location seemed convenient, as it was only a few minutes from our house. Everyone seemed nice, we both signed a gym contract for what is without a doubt exceedingly more expensive than other gyms in the area, but we agreed to try it as it was very close to home. I made a point to ask what the cancellation fee was (things happen, we may want to switch gyms, etc) and was told “It’s a $50 cancellation fee”. Sweet, not a huge deal considering the membership itself is $62 after taxes each month.

This is where I can admit I messed up, I didn’t read the contract.

We recently had to put our dog down due to cancer, and I have been in a very depressed emotional state. The motivation to go to the gym, let alone exercise at all has completely diminished. So I thought okay, I’ll just call and let them know I want to cancel since I’m not going anymore and pay the $50, and call it a day.

Nope, that isn’t the case here. If you read that very fine print of that contract you sign, you have to either become physically disabled and unable to workout (which has to be proven), move outside of 15 miles of any of the Anytime fitness locations (also needs documentation), or leave this earthly plane.

So for anyone out there wondering if you should get a committed membership here, just know you will not be able to cancel it. You’re locked in. Despite being verbally told “It’s just $50”, despite having any sort of life event that makes you mentally or emotionally unable to use their facility, despite anything at all other than becoming disabled or moving.

Please find a membership at any other gym, like a normal one that lets you come in to cancel. This should say a lot about what type of business this is. They lock you in, don’t verbalize everything to you regarding cancelling, and they overcharge by 3 times the amount as other gyms who offer substantially more. If any other evidence is needed other than this, just look up “cancel Anytime Fitness membership” on literally any social media forum and it will say exactly what I’m saying right now. Just go somewhere else.

This is one of the cleanest and friendliest gyms. The classes are great and the personal trainer is very motivating. I feel great after going & am inspired to work out more. Andrew and Devan are awesome!!!

I got a membership a couple weeks ago on the recc of a coworker. I love that its 24/7 access, clean, with new equipment, and staff that can help or do training services. They've got a little bit of everything a person would need to reach their fitness goals!

I started at this location one year ago. I haven't lost a lot of weight, but I have gained a lot muscle and lost a lot of fat. I can tell things have distributed differently on my body. Very glad I did this! Andrew is a great trainer!

I like this place for 1. it's 24-hour accessibility. 2. It's clean. 3. It has a large variety of equipment.
My only dislike is their lack of upper body workout equipment.
It is still a good place to lift.

I love this Anytime Fitness! Both Devin and Andrew are freaking amazing!! The convenience of this place is unmatched. Come and workout anytime day or night, whatever time suites your schedule best…however I would recommend coming in when the boys are here. They always say hello!

North Kansas City anytime fitness is a loud rap music bar/club & house of mirrors.
If you like the sound of a blaring loud Dental drill then go to the NKC anytime fitness. People are literally singing at the top of their lungs rap music & looking at themselves rap dancing in the mirror. There are people literally rap dancing and singing out loud rap music in front of the mirrors.
It's a rap music bar for rap dancing and singing.
It was the worst experience for my wife, children & self.
IT IS DEFINITELY 🚫 NOT A FAMILY GYM. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I got a membership here a few weeks ago and been a positive experience so far! The manager was nice and straightforward when setting up my membership. I've worked out at 8+ gyms and sometimes signing up is my least favorite part of the experience because of the over- selling, but it didn't feel like that. It's smaller, all the equipment looks new, and it's a very clean place. It's a medium-priced facility which I think is fair for it being 24/7.

It's not quite as busy, and I think it is still building its membership base - could get crowded easily if they had too many members.

I signed for a membership at anytime fitness and it is truly that.. fitness anytime because it is open 24 hours. I ha e been to 24 hours before I have to say this one is my favorite. Staff is not there 24 hours however they are present during the day and like that. I enjoy being able to see the friendly faces there and the gym is well lit. There is number of equipment and I like the open space.

Been a member of Anytime Fitness for over 3 years. During that time I’ve visited and worked at multiple facilities. This is by far one of the best. It’s brand new and very clean.

Additionally the staff is awesome. They’re helpful, kind, and eager to help people reach their goals whatever that takes.

They’re always cleaning, rarely sitting down, and always have a smile on their faces.

Love this gym, I’m glad to be a member for many years to come!

27 dollars plus tax every 2 weeks is ridiculous and very selfish. Y’all charge more than chiefs fit and don’t offer what they have. Make it make sense please. Not only does it show y’all do not care but only want people with money there. $30 a month is more than justifiable for these gyms. But time will show y’all that. Greed doesn’t get you far and god don’t like ugly.

The AF gym at Englewood in KC is one of the best. It’s big, open, clean, and the staff is awesome. Rather you are bodybuilding or just into fitness in general, you can discover your own avenue to your goals. One down fall, the tv channel hasn’t changed since it opened 😂
