I used to think smaller gyms weren’t worth it, but with so many places being overcrowded these days, it’s refreshing to have a quieter spot where I’m not constantly in someone’s space.

Pros:
-Not crowded
-24-hour access

Cons:
-Limited equipment, which is expected with a smaller facility

Edit: Summer workouts can be uncomfortable. Not much AC, and it often feels close to 80 degrees inside.

My husband I joined this location about 1.5 years ago. We discovered very few people are working out between 5 and 6:30 am, giving us the motivation to go early. It is clean and easy to focus on our work out. Members going at the time are there to get their work out in before anything else. There may be a smile or an acknowledgment from others and that is enough for me. We are happily retired and visit other locations while we are on vacation. By far, this is the best!

I've been a member since August 2024, I went to this location for the first time on February 22nd 2025 and this is the best location that I've been to. Very large with a variety of equipment and a studio area with more weights, machines and an extra punching bag. I'd give more stars if I could!

I’ve been waiting to give a rating because I wanted to see how the new ownership would fare. Here are the things I’ve noticed:

1. I’ve never seen the personal trainer/co-owner, Thomas, wipe a single piece of equipment that he uses or that his clients use. He also does not replenish the cleaning towels even when it’s low or empty when he’s here.

2. The same owner frequently brings his daughter and lets her run all over the place while he works out, or even when he’s training a client! Not only is she a distraction to him while he has a client, she could easily get hurt with all the gym equipment around. Or even just accidentally running into someone.

3. This has only perpetuated the problem of members bringing their young kids in while they work out. I’m pretty sure the age limit is at least 12, which even that seems too low. If the owner wants to bring in his daughter, maybe they need to invest in a childcare facility at this gym.

4. Sooooo many people (mostly kids) come here without scanning in. What’s the point of a membership if I can just get in for free? They just follow people in the door, or they tap on the glass for someone to let them in.

5. This place is overrun by middle and high school kids who do not have any gym etiquette.

I really appreciate the facilities and staff at Anytime Fitness of Wildwood. The owners (Ashley and Thomas) are friendly, informative, and keep their gym and equipment clean at all times. Having the flexibility to workout at any part of the day or evening is incredibly convenient for those limited on time. They offer various classes, individual/group training, and a positive environment. I recommend giving them a try!

I visit this anytime when I'm in town and overall very pleased. However, their barbells spin and are dangerous for certain movements. Usually, these just need to be tightened but that would be my only caution to lifters who lean towards Olympic lifts.

This is an amazing gym! Wonderful owners. They invest in the gym, they keep it so clean and nice, and they listen to their members. The equipment is up to date, plenty of choices of machines, free weights, cross training area, and a large room for group classes. Plus, I’ve never had to wait for a machine or free weight since I’ve been here. I’ve been to almost all of the Anytimes in STL metro and theirs is the nicest by far, across the board. Very proud to call this my home base gym.

I couldn’t love this gym more. The gym itself is very well taken care of. The staff always seems to be cleaning, and the ladies who work up there are so enthusiastic! They make the place welcoming and comfortable. They have a chalk board wall and write motivating quotes and the top 10 go-ers of each month.

I like all the windows and natural light in the day time. And when it’s nice outside sometimes they open the doors. There are also ceiling fans that they’re kind enough to let you turn on and off as you please. There is PLENTY of accessory equipment, like everything you could think of, and everything I’ve used is in great, clean condition.

I love the people who go to this gym as well; there’s a real community vibe. I enjoy seeing the same faces throughout the week. Good energy just flows through the place. It makes you WANT to be there and be a part of it.

I was always hesitant to join a gym since I figured it would be intimidating and inconvenient. Neither of these is true here! It's never overly crowded so it's not intimidating, and being open 24 hours has just been huge for me! I've gone at 8am, 9pm and everything in between. Equipment is nice, clean and well maintained. And my one experience with the staff (Kim, when I signed up) was very positive as well. I'd recommend this gym for anyone looking for a small, friendly neighborhood gym where you can feel comfortable getting into shape, regardless of where you are in your journey.

Went in person to Butler Hill location was told about the guest services. I really only wanted to bring a guest when I went out to this wildwood location. So I called them. Immediately she told me they charge $10 a visit for guests. Unlike butler hill. She laughed when I said that’s unlike what the other manager said. She made it feel as though I wouldn’t even be welcome in her gym because I’m not “paying her/ her gym”

Very uppity. Very rude. Definitely decided I’m not interested in this franchise.

My husband and I love this gym! Something about the atmosphere at Wildwood’s Anytime Fitness location has been instrumental in helping both of us re-commit to a regular work out routine.
The 24 hour access is convenient and the facility provides a calm environment, clean and well maintained machines, a large classroom for classes available to you via personalized technology, and (yeah!) clean bathrooms. Large enough to accommodate our work out requirements while remaining small enough so as not to be intimidating.
The price is reasonable, they are connected/affiliated with the various insurance incentive programs, and while a tiny thing....they put these amazing quotes on their motivational blackboard wall, that aren’t your typical fluff, but words that make you think and feel inspired.
Finally, everyone employed at the facility is a “real” person. They work hard, aren’t “fake” friendly, you aren’t bombarded with someone in your face, but have access to individuals if you want or need support.

This place is always dirty. Nothing like going into a studio to do a workout and getting fist sized hair balls stuck to your pants. Dirt, salt, someone's leftover protein shake on your hands. God forbid you have dust allergies you would collapse before you get halfway through a run. You could draw adorable pictures of mountain landscapes in the dust. I don't mind wiping equipment down after I've used it but I didn't realize I should be bringing my broom and mop. The doors alone go days to over a week without getting wiped down. Even in the middle flu season, yes I would love some influenza with my Pilates. They tell you at sign up these are the workout videos we offer and without warning get rid of them. Doesn't matter if you are three weeks in. When you attempt to talk to the owner he takes phone calls in the middle of the conversation and walks away. Or when you complain on the website they write you emails about how your wrong, not sorry, not we will make things right, just your wrong. Did I mention the owner talks on his phone when he's on the treadmills, it's so loud you can hear him over your earbuds. They always park right up front. Doesn't matter if it's busy/raining and as a paying customer you walk two businesses over. $46 a month is a rip off for this place. Want any trainer interaction, classes, you have to pay extra (except one Zumba class a week.) The list goes on, you could go to a $10 gym and get ten times the amenities. Why else would they make you sign a contract, once you realize what a horrible mistake you have made your stuck. UPDATE - The afternoon of posting this on Facebook I received a nasty phone call from the owner telling me I had no right to post this. I have never had to hang up on someone for screaming and being so argumentative when attempting to fix a problem. I had to hang up it was so bad. Update 7.2.15 After about seven months of complaining including to corporate someone finally cleaned and it lasted two weeks. Out of the four elliptical machines they have one has been broken for six months. The windows are filthy, but don't work when the bus drivers take there smoke breaks they can still stare at you or the whomever is waiting on the bus. Went next door to the Irish pub, turns out you can see everything through the windows from the patio. Nothing like a hundred person audience on a nice day. Our you can just stare at sill the trash around the place. The air conditioning broke four two months, all they did was blame their lessor. They have four tv's on the walls most of the time two aren't on our they have shows that idolize the morbidly obese. Last but not least they blocked the fire exit with equipment.
