Yet another business that treats new customers better than existing ones. I changed my membership yesterday snd was texted a code to waive the enrollment fee. Denied. I now have to pay an enrollment fee AND a new annual fee because I changed my plan. Looking for another gym who treats customers like they matter!

It is becoming run down, the TV in the Sauna has been broken since I joined, the the manager told me he is still figuring it out. Other locations have figured it out. The locker room and sauna are dirty, this is all about the manager. The staff is nice but ineffective. The PTs are rude and block the equipment act like they own the place. They also lock basic stretching equipment away and up charge for it, which should be done after any workout.

Club Fitness has been screwing over existing customers on membership fees. I initially joined a few years ago with the basic membership that allowed 24hr access. Then about a year ago they rolled out new memberships at a higher rate that forced me to upgrade to keep 24hr access. This year (due to new, better gyms showing up in the area) the secretly rolled out new, cheaper pricing and did not tell existing members. Because I did not know that, I kept paying the higher rate than is even available now for my location without the additional perks (such as access to the pulse studio. When I found this out I brought it up to the workers and asked to move back down to the most basic membership that allows 24hr access. Now Club Fitness is trying to charge me a new membership fee in addition to an annual fee and the the monthly subscription fee to DOWNGRADE when I never asked for an upgrade in the first place. This treatment to existing members is awful and must be addressed before I can recommend any of the Club Fitness locations to anyone else. Finally, this location specifically is far too small and not near as featureful as many of their other locations, and should be an even lower price.

Everything is fine I guess for the most part, not much space but it is what it is. However the water station I fill my bottle at has a red light over filter (normally green at other locations) and says it’s filled over 269,000 bottles. Looking up the Elkay EZH2O online I learned they’re supposed to be changed after 20,000 fills. So yeahhh, send me a pic of (both) stations with a changed filter and a green light and ill change this review to a 3 star

Update 1/2025: Kept my membership and so glad I did! The renovations are great, staff is friendly and helpful (love being greeted as I enter and leave), equipment is good, locker room is clean and nice, love the sauna and it’s working well! Nicely done to all those who made this happen!
I really don't even want to give this place one star. It's dark, dank and the equipment is always broken. Sauna and steam room have been broken for weeks, no one seems to care. They'll take your money and start your membership on ANY day of the week, but seriously, I can't cancel my membership on Sunday? Such a shame, great location and the personal trainers are typically very good - but the facility itself is just awful. No wonder all the good trainers leave...

Great gym for the price. I split my time between Columbia and St. Louis so this is really a supplemental gym for me. Equipment is solid, renovations were good. Pretty much everything you need. Two things I don’t love. First, the sauna is absolutely rank. Has it been cleaned since the gym opened? A start would be not allowing shoes in there. Horrific. Second, some of the other members are so far in their own worlds it’s infuriating. Saw a guy here last time with his stuff all over one of the three squat racks. Meanwhile he was sitting on one of the four benches with his laptop out. What are we doing here man?

Rude staff daughter went in with her boyfriend, he has a membership. Every time he's gone to the gym with a guest he's never had to sign in a guest. Today my daughter went in with him and staff followed them through the gym to tell her she needed to sign in. She fills out their iPad and walked away they followed her through the gym a second time and they said she also had to check in at the front desk. They asked her for her phone number then all they did was sign her up for promo emails and texts. staff were super rude and frowning and mad and gave them dirty looks as they left never coming back get all new staff. terrible! last i checked no one likes being followed though the gym and told they need sign up or sign in when they don't need promo emails.

Your belongings are NOT SAFE at this gym, even if secured in a locker. I was finishing using the bathroom in the women's locker room when I see a male employee, Blake, entering with a bolt cutter & a young lady pointing at my locker. She was claiming her belongings were in the locker and the employee was about to cut off my lock and give her access.
When confronted about the situation and that this was my locker, Blake stated they had "asked everyone" if this was their locker. When my husband later asked Blake about this situation, he stated this was simply their policy for cutting off locks and couldn't confirm that they have any sort of security check before giving access to the belongings. Who knows if I ever would have seen my keys or purse again had I not just happened to be in the bathroom at that time. No apology was ever given and it is still unclear to me if Club Fitness even has a policy for cutting off locks or if this employee was aware of it.

It's a clean place, Parking feels safe. Fascinating to find the reasons people train at different hours of the night. One guy does it because he's leaving the country for a few weeks, and doesn't want the time change to mess up his event.

Unless you intend on having a lifetime membership do not join club fitness. Their
App is totally useless in managing your account with no ability to adjust your membership. 1-800 call center, and any other form of customer service is absolutely atrocious. I've been trying to freeze and then cancel my membership for months. I don't live near the location I opened my membership nor do I intend to drive there. the only way you can cancel membership is to drive where you opened it and speak to a manager. They won't let you do it online and you can't do it by calling anybody. it's absolutely absurd and ridiculous. I changed my credit card so they stopped billing me and I get hassled with phone calls everyday ask me to update my billing information. Absolutely atrocious way to do business. I was going to temporarily cancel and then get a membership in a year or two when I'm financially and physically able. I will never do business with this company again
Update 4.15.24. Their collection agency which is posing as a legal attorney organization continues to hassle me with ongoing phone calls. Their voicemails and emails insinuate they are only trying to help me reactivate my account. What they are just a collection agency. Unless you and plan to use them for life and it never cancel your membership do not use this gym.

Used to like going here and while I'm still a member, they are starting to charge obscenely. My bill went from $39.95 to over $46 per month. This is a great gym to do some serious lifting. The free weights and machines are top rate. The patrons are serious about working out, polite and non judgemental.
The staff members refuse to make the custom protien shakes 25 minutes prior to closing. This has been my experience 3 times with the young white male staff member. It aggravating and annoying.

I am here to edit my review, the OG staff was amazing. Everyone was nice and they would get the work done. Unfortunately, the new staff has ruined this place not just for me and for others too just ask and you will find out.
They behave like you owe them something, extremely rude and unprofessional when any sort of work needs to be done. Been a member since 2018 or 2019 and i have never been this disappointed. ALL THAT ASIDE THE PLACE IS FILTHY ESPECIALLY THE LOCKER ROOM AND MANAGEMENT IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.

Communication and billing practices are terrible. This month they randomly decided all previous "legacy" memberships with 24hr access are no longer valid and you have to sign up for a new upgraded plan to have 24hr access (instead of only staffed hours). They didn't even send an email or text letting you know... everyone is going up to the door and their access is denied with no way to understand why. There isn't even a number you can call or a direct line to any gym, just an offshore 800 number for tech support which is useless. Getting ready for a workout and driving to the gym only to not be able to get in because of some arbitrary contract change is extremely frustrating. Being forced to pay another $10 a month and a yearly garbage fee to keep the same membership I signed up for is ridiculous. If your near any other gym I would recommend that one instead.

I have visited all of the Club Fitnesses in then St Louis and St Charles area, this is by far the unfriendliest of them all. The employees here really need to work on their customer service!! They need to makes sure things are stocked play better music to get and keep you in the workout mode.
The sauna keeps breaking down and they take forever to fix it.
They have lost a lot of people that use to come in the morning.
A lot of us like to workout with the same people and now most have left.
Some days they don't even have music playing and it feels like it's just dead in there.
Couple of the staff guys that were there left now and the place just keeps going down.
It could get better if maybe when you try and talk to the older guy staff and let them know they don't just blow you off with bad attitudes.

If I could give this a 0 star I would. I have been trying to cancel my membership since last August when I moved out of town. Since I do not currently live in town it has been impossible to cancel. I made the drive into the club in May. Was told it was canceled. Then was told today it was never actually canceled and I still owe money. They are using a 3rd party for payments and no one can actually give you an answer. They have to talk to one another. You can’t call the club only this 3rd party. Do not waste your money here!!!

Started using this gym when I’m visiting Saint Louis. TONS of options from classes, to equipment, to personal trainers. I personally love the kickboxing and Zumba classes and I’ve really liked every trainer I’ve had so far. Only downside is it’s normally packed. I think that’s due to the close proximity to the universities. Will continue to go here when I’m in town!

Still waiting on renovations 2 months later, was given zero notice prior to full closing of location, customer service is non existant, you can’t simply talk to anyone on the phone at any location. Update: after reopening I’m told that red light therapy isn’t included in my membership anymore despite paying the exact same amount, this gym doesn’t like to communicate and good luck getting a hold of anyone to help you, I was told I had to wait 2 hours before the only manager was done training someone. So if you have a problem with club fitness you have to wait til they decide to email you back as you can’t even talk to a real person when you call any location.

Gym has been "under construction" since September. Poor conditions with dusty smoke during active gym hours for the months in between the start and temporary closure provided by a notice mid November. Underwhelmed by the gyms communication. I have seen a comment by another reviewer that the gym has little to no progress as of 01/2023. This is my closest location, so I have paused my gym membership at this location until the reopen.

This location closed with no notice in November for "renovations". There have been no communications to members when the gym will reopen and what improvements/renovations should be expected. Prior to construction, equipment was regularly out of service. The locker rooms were also always dirty. There is a constant mold/mildew smell and the floors are often wet.

For the price, can't beat it. (Early2022). Wish everyone would continue to mask up but the county doesn't require it. Riskier in health clubs though bc folks expel air more heavily and have on fewer clothes. Club is well equipped and staff greets you during staffed hrs.—
Dec 2022 update…Creve Couer location has been under renovation for 3plus months with full closure since Thanksgiving…it was fine…could see update of locker rooms was needed and maybe update carpet but otherwise it had all equipment and full classes. CF closed Chesterfield location w minimal warning. Hope it doesn’t happen here. Consistency is more important than frills.

Update: They started doing renovations without notifying members, and half the equipment along with restrooms became unavailable. You had to go to a trailer out back for restrooms. Then they suddenly closed the branch in the middle of the day for renovations. In the future, I would expect at least an email to all members about something like this. I found out when I showed up for a workout at 2 in the afternoon and was told that they're closing. Poor communication.

11/16/22 update: they closed this branch temporarily, no notice. Removing a star and pausing my membership (sign says can email to do so) since any other location entails 30 minutes or more of driving round trip.
10/11/22 update: rowing machine batteries were replaced. However the branch is now undergoing major renovations. It's loud and many machines are unavailable. On the plus side I've rarely seen the gym this empty.
Update: it's been a couple months and the rowing machine displays are still unreadable. They requested reviews while rolling out their app so you would expect them to listen to members.
A decent gym. Peak hours can be busy, especially free weights and benches. There are two squat cages, and I wish they would square them up perfectly with the mirror wall. I also asked them to replace batteries in the rowing machine on 6/26/22 so I will update if that happens soon.

Really don't appreciate the bait and switch service I received, when I had to sign up for a "new" membership just to use the 1 tanning bed they had. When I previously had been using it for over a year. Then after signing a new, more expensive membership, CF started a renovation project. Well, it started out as new locker rooms, but it kept going and going. The place is a mess right now, I feel terrible for the employees that are working in bad conditions. Today, I was told the tanning bed now cannot be used for months! Wait what?!?!
Anyway, the truth came out in a text message today at 2:30pm TODAY saying they are closing this location TODAY at 3pm. No notice, no plan, cant tell us how long this will be. Just overall mismanagement from the top down. Terrible way to treat your loyal customers. A little transparency would have gone a long way, now your members are forced out with no notice.

Renovations are still happening so you can’t use the full gym. No where to lock up your purse/keys so it’s pretty inaccessible if you buy female workout clothes (like I get it some of the pants have pockets but the fact that I can’t come after work and lock up my purse is ridiculous) They take away most of the “perks” of your current membership to try to push you into a more expensive bracket. Once this membership is over I’ll be joining HotWorx, it’s more expensive and a drive but at least I won’t feel ripped off.

What is it called when you exchange money for a service that you don’t receive?
Approximately a month ago it was announced that there would be renovations. They estimated it would take a week. In the interim, we have to use glorified port-o-potties. Which takes away a large point of what I pay for; the Showers and sauna. I submitted a message to their website and asked when it would be functioning or WHERE I could find that information. Crickets, no response, for a week. They don’t post updates on a Facebook page…nothing.
If I wanted to retain business I would give members vouchers for the times that the gym was non-functional. This isn’t even to mention how the cycle studio has functioned 25% of the time I’ve been a member. If you care about receiving what you pay your gym fees to - seek out a different gym.

The gym is ok after the upgrades but the billing and customer service is a scam and will never join a club fitness. I paid for a year upfront and apparently the contracts auto renew. I found that out and canceled in the gym but “corporate” denied it because of a small late fee despite not going to their gym for 5 months. Now somehow I owe $380 to a collections agency and had to find out from a rude agent that they don’t have any details just a balance…. And there is NO way to talk to corporate as it’s only in writing. Nightmare!!!

Do not go to this gym. Bathroom/ sauna are gross. Now only two bikes that barley work. Only a few attachments for the cables. This gym needs to step it up. Now I will have to drive an extra 20 min each way to workout. Wish I never joined

1 star due to their "policies" when cancelling it's a joke. For me the first person only pretended to cancel my account, second attempt the person started the process of cancelling. Accounts go into pending cancellation, and they keep billing during this period. Keep that in mind. If you have a .01 balance, they charge you for the next month to cancel again. It's a scam.

The workout facilities deserve four or five stars, but the locker room and shower deserves -10 stars.
It is horrible. I have seen the same hairball in one shower stall for at least 2 to 3 months. The floor in the locker room is dirty beyond belief. I am sure someone has used a mop but all they do is move dirt from one side to another never picking it up.
The floor in the photos does not look that dirty, but that is only because the tile hides the dirt well in the photo.
This facility reminds me of the old facility in Florissant.
The only thing missing is the roaches, but there are spiders and spiderwebs
Thankfully I only take a shower here once a week

Convenient location, but this location needs wayyyyyy more fans/ventilation control. It is super hot all the time and is noticeably different than other locations (like Maplewood and Ellisville) with those big red fans.

This is the dirtiest club fitness I have ever been too. Showers and toilets are disgusting all the time. I have been coming to this gym for 3 years and it’s a shame how dirty it’s got in the past year. When I can find a new gym close to work I will 100% be switching.

I came in June to cancel my 12 month membership that expired in July and at that time, one of the workers told me to wait and cancel in July when I reach the 12 months. I showed up now in July and cancelled. I then was sent an email that because I didn’t give a 30 day notice, they will be charging me another month. The customer service was not helpful in solving this situation. The staff is not informed on their procedures and caused me to lose another month of money. She sent me away without any additional information. They will get you stuck in a contract and then when you go to cancel, find some way to get you. I trusted the staff and I shouldn’t have.

I started personal training at Club Fitness in mid-May and it has had such a positive impact on my body image and mental health. My personal trainer is Brandon and he is fantastic. He really is your own personal cheerleader and listens to your goals. The workouts he puts together for you are challenging but also doable at the same time. You leave your session feeling strong and amazed at yourself for getting through. I am excited to see where this journey continues to take me!

AVOID AT ALL COST
I joined club fitness while I was working in St. Louis. I was only going to be in town for a month but the salesmen told me there weren’t any 1 month options. He ended up signing me up for a year and told me I’d just have to cancel it.
After I cancel it the guy closing out my account told me there were one month memberships and didn’t know why the other guy told me there wasn’t. On top of that I’d have to pay for another month and cancelation.
Lots of gyms with honest salesmen out there so go there, also it’s always packed and not that much equipment

Club Fitness is amazing. I’ve been looking for a local gym while I’m home from college, and I must say, I’m so glad I found CF. There is a wide variety of clean equipment for both cardio and weights.
