Machines and equipment are great and they have a wide variety. Once staff leave, the place is flooded with "kids". Memberships are double or more than other local gyms like crunch and planet fitness. You also have to pay more to access the "additional" services like massage beds, cryotherapy, etc. It's a nice facility, but expensive and crowded all the time, that's why we switched.

They recently changed the women’s only studio to force you to pay for the most expensive $65 membership in order to access. What is wrong with you? It’s a small room for the safety of women who don’t feel comfortable working out in the main gym area - so you’re going to exploit that and force them to pay even more?
Planet Fitness is $27 for their most expensive membership. If you’re forced to go to a co-ed gym anyway, may as well go to Planet and save $40/mo.

hi guys, let me start my talking ab the staff… Finley Chandler is the MAN, not of myth, but of legend. I mean, the dude knows everything. I was getting slimed out on my way into the gym and Finley jumped in and we defeated the punks together. Wanna know the best part? Finley defeated them with his WORDS not his fists. I asked him why and he said “words can either be sharpest weapon of destruction or your greatest tool of strength”, gave me a pat on the shoulder, then clocked in 1 minute before his shift because he is just that type of guy. He also lowk knows a lot about health and fitness. Great hire on ur guys’ part 👍🏼

I walked into Club Fitness to ask about membership prices, and I left completely pissed off. The prices were outrageous. As the employee started explaining the membership options, I was immediately confused — apparently, some Club Fitness locations are “elite” while others are “select.” When I asked what the difference was, the employee literally said “I don’t know.” Are you serious? How are you selling memberships and don’t even know the difference between your own gyms?
Because I was at an “elite” location, I was told my only options were either platinum or elite — both ridiculously overpriced. Meanwhile, people going to a select location get way more flexibility and cheaper options. To make things worse, even if I get a platinum membership, I still wouldn’t get access to the women’s training studio, the pulse studio, or the cryo lounge. Which I actually wanted. For that, I’d have to fork over $70 a month for the elite membership, which is absolutely not in my budget.
So let me get this straight: because of where I live, I’m expected to pay more for fewer options, while someone living closer to a select club pays less and gets more? That’s insane. It’s completely unfair and feels like a rip-off. No wonder my coworkers keep telling me to switch to Crunch Fitness. I used to think Club Fitness was affordable and actually cared about its members, turns out I was dead wrong.

When I was a gym member a time ago. I had an incident occurred to me as a member at this location. I was a premium gym member that allowed me to use their tanning service.
A young man working as member services for their company performed a heinous act on me. I ask this man to tan for 9 minutes in a stand up. He set the bed for twenty seven minutes. I felt
nauseous and about to pass out and realized that something was wrong. If I did not notice this, I could have received third degree burns or possibly died from this action. This goes back to their corporate and how they are structured.

The gyms are overcrowded and the staff is unfriendly. Corporate gym to the max. Prepare to be signed into a contract that is extremely difficult to get out of without a full buyout option. They won't let you cancel unless you come in person, so if you move out of the area you are out of luck. Customer Care is 0/10

Club Fitness facilities are among the dirtiest of any I've been in in over 40 years of using public gyms. Planet Fitness, Golds, 24 Hour Fitness and the Y all do a better job of cleaning than CF. The Fenton, South County and Arnold locations are especially filthy. The showers are nasty, the saunas are gross and the locker rooms and lockers are petri dishes for all things nasty. This is appalling given how much they charge for a membership. You also can't call the respective gym directly, they are like the post office in providing less than stellar customer service. They need serious competition to drive them out of business.

Best Club Fitness i have been to. Would give 5 stars but they only have 1 Tricep Press rope in the whole gym. They need like 5. Not those silly ones with the weird grip that nobody uses that they have 6 of. They need at least 3-5 standard black tricep ropes. Aside from that, not a bad gym.

I was denied entry because my membership was opened in Creve Coeur in 2019. When I moved to Fenton, I requested to transfer my membership to the Fenton location, but the staff at the front desk assured me it wasn’t necessary, as I could use any location. However, they have suddenly changed their policy and are now forcing me to upgrade, which I believe is not a good practice for an ethical business. This isn’t about the money; had the staff allowed me to work out for just one day, I would have upgraded. But their refusal forced me to cancel my membership. Thankfully, we now have Planet Fitness as an alternative…

UPDATE: 10/21/24: I was just informed last week by a front of the house worker that the benefit of bringing up to 12 guests a year was taken away in January? That's interesting because 1) I joined this club in January when it was advertised, and 2) I do not recall receiving or seeing any messages that this benefit was being taken away.
I presume the contract I signed states that they can change whatever they want any time they want; however, I haven't had a chance to read it yet. So, I will be checking.
When I inquired why, the employee told me that too many teenagers were bringing in their friends. 1) Who cares! They are not on the streets and, presuming they are not causing trouble in the gym, what harm is being done other than you're losing money. Plus, some day they could become a member. 2) Put an age limit on the benefit if you must, but don't penalize those that are not causing you problems.
For the first time ever, I brought a guest only to be told I can't bring another after this one. Keep taking away benefits that were advertised to get me to sign up and then take it away? Isn't that called bait and switch? I believe I took a screenshot of the benefits signed up for, I'll be looking for that too.

I like the club, but the app is horrible. It constantly crashes, and today, it won't show any class schedules. I have read lots of complaints about it, but they don't seem to care, and nothing has been done to make it better. Club Fitness really needs to take their app seriously or get rid of it because they are wasting money on it!

I had posted a review about a month back about how I liked the equipment,but the place was dirty and shower was gross. After being here for awhile I noticed it was only after the weekends usually and the staff got right on it. When it comes to the gym personally this is my favorite I love the equipment they keep up on maintenance the sauna is the hottest around, the showers always hot, the relax and recovery is just that it’s relaxing dark and quiet don’t get a bunch of noise like the Arnold location. In all it’s a good gym and I feel like my earlier review wasn’t fair being that I’ve been here longer and see the staff cleaning everyday and doing their best. I recommend this location.

Good luck trying to cancel your Club Fitness membership. Club Fitness Fenton was a good place to workout. However after the spike in membership prices and almost all benefits being moved to the next tier I decided it was time to leave as its competitors offer much better pricing. I initiated a cancellation and was informed that I needed to pay back the month I missed, fair enough I suppose. What i didn’t expect was that they would also charge me for the next month even though I was immediately seeking cancellation and did not want to attend any longer. I contacted customer support and they said they were unable to waive this fee as it was policy, however I was never made aware of this policy and it sounds like the multiple people i’ve talked to about it weren’t either. Don’t go to Club Fitness in Fenton or anywhere else if you ever consider leaving because they will make it a living nightmare to leave and take every dollar from you.

Already overpriced, only nice thing is the convivence of location. I've had a membership with club fitness for about 10 years now, and never once complained about changes in prices to help make the gym better, but the fact that they are charging 5.41 a month to freeze my membership is ridiculous when im not getting access to the servics, if I'm going to get charged money at all I should still get to be using the service I'm paying for, do better club fitness!!

They restructured their membership plans so now I can only go to the location I signed up at or pay and extra 15 dollars a month.
They also took away my plans 24 hour access but don’t have their staffed hours posted on the website, google, the app, or even on the building itself.
So I just have to show up and pray it’s during the staffed hours or else I’ve just wasted my time
They’re trying to twist your arm into paying more for things you previously had access to for a lower price and it doesn’t seem like the money is going back into the facility at all they just care about you scanning in and making sure you’re only there during certain times but they won’t tell you what times those are

Club Fitness is money hungry. They probably make millions off of memberships and retail, and even though I’ve been able to access multiple of the studios for years, including the girls studio for when I feel uncomfortable or work out late, they decide to take that all away. I’m already paying a ridiculous 33.99 a month, and now all it gives me is 24 hour access? You now have to pay an even more ridiculous 39.99 a month to access anything extra. You don’t get grandfathered into anything even though I’ve been loyal to CF for years. This is an embarrassment on your part and exactly how you lose loyal customers. I will cancel my membership before I upgrade to the premium plan.

Great gym, wish they'd double up on some of the iso lateral chest/shoulder/back machines. Plenty of dead space to do so. Just a few things missing to be the perfect gym. Would recommend to anyone.

They finally did double up on some iso machines so kudos to them.
However, they made changes to the memberships and are strong arming you into upgrading. How're they strong arming you may ask? They bumped anyone's membership that had "FULL ACCESS" to "LEGACY" which only includes your home gym during business hours. So if you go in after hours, you're just out of luck. If you want the 24 hour access back you're forced to upgrade, you don't get grandfathered in with your original agreement for FULL ACCESS like you'd expect.
There's no actual customer support for the gyms, and no direct lines in to ask questions. When you click on the customer support link, it only provides you with customer support for billing, not for the gym.

Very sad the cycle classes are going to be discontinued in Nov 2023. This is one of the most fun ways to reach a good heart rate. Wish they would reconsider. Still a good place - I did the 3 day trial way back in May is 2021 and haven't stopped yet. I am concerned though that the other instructor led classes will also disappear.

When I first joined I loved club fitness and recommended it to everyone. Slowly the gym took away the basic membership, they raised the prices slightly, and then started stripping the benefits away from the premium plan and if you want the benefits back then you have to upgrade and pay more. Now for $33 you get what other gyms only charge $10 for, plus the gym had overcharges me $62 for 3 months when I didn't have the full payment in my account they would over draft me then charge me double the monthly payment

So far, my experience has been great!! Especially the front desk people are super nice. Love the atmosphere- so welcoming! I don't take advantage of a lot, but I use the heck out of the treadmill, and wipe it down when I'm done. I'd never thought I'd be a person that says, "I can't wait to go workout!"

I’ve had the worst customer service at this gym. A couple years ago (I was 16) I was harassed by a old man at this gym, he followed me around recording me for an hour and proceeded to follow me to my car. I told the staff and was told “it’s hard to tell girls age with what they wear” I wrote a report and nothing I still had to see the guy around there, I froze my account and went to planet because I knew cancelling would be a nightmare. I was correct. I cancelled my membership after being double charged again (not the first time) over a month ago, I have since been charged the membership fee twice since then. That is $100 of my money they have stolen, I went back up there (hour round trip) to get this fixed and was told there is no manager there. I gave them my number to call me, I have no doubt in my mind they will not call me and I will have to do a 3rd trip there. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP HERE!!

Straight up lied to when signing up. Was told that there is no "buyout" fee if relocating out of state but when the time came, I was told there's a charge even if you show proof. I've heard of this happening with Club fitness in the past and brought it up to make sure and the representative lied straight to my face. Update: 2/28/2023: Nothing has changed at this facility in regards to cleaning and basic sanitation. It remains one of the grossest workout facilities I've been to in over 40 years. The lack of adequate cleaning makes each visit a nasty one. For example: the equipment is not wiped down, floors are not regularly (that means several times a day) mopped, bathrooms are a science project, sauna is filthy, and the stains, hair and urine in the showers are quite gross. I noticed boogers on the wall of a shower that were there for nearly two weeks. The smell of weed in the locker rooms is also nauseating. At times it reminds me of a homeless shelter.
Senior management of Club Fitness needs to reexamine their approach to how they clean, because for all practical purposes they are not cleaning adequately. They need to hire adequate staff to clean or contract out to a professional cleaning company. Trying to get a teenager to clean isn't working, especially when they have no concept of proper cleaning and sanitation and are not held accountable.
I think this company just wants the money from the overpriced memberships and doesn't care about how they are run.

Despite repeated attempts to provide feedback on the nasty conditions in the Fenton CF, nothing has improved. I received phone messages from the GM but nothing has changed. I even reached out to the STL county Health Dept but have heard nothing. One of the nastiest facilities I've been in. No dedicated cleaning staff. "Cleaning" showers, restrooms, saunas and locker areas once a week is disgusting. Especially after what we just went through with COVID.

I was initially excited about my membership here. Unlimited tanning on all beds. Then, they changed the tanning policy to charge upwards of $8 per tanning on level 4, 5 beds without notice to the membership because you sign a contract stating they have the right to change "terms and conditions". I then bought my first house ever 26 miles away. Cancellation of this membership has been like getting rid of the plague! Despite in person agreement that they would schedule my 59 dollar buyout they still took February payment overdrafting my account. Connor sent an email and the club confirmed they'd wait til my payday for the 59. I've been charged 3 consecutive days overdrafting the heck out of my acct and bank which I am thoroughly disgusted over. I work in Edwardsville and don't have time to drive almost 30 miles a 3rd time in person to fix this. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ever get a gym membership because of this experience and I suggest Planet Fitness who simply just let's you end the contract with no additional charges. Club Fitness has ruined gym experiences for me for life

I would give five stars but the saunas are always dirty. I go to other gyms with saunas and they clean them on regular bases and the wood is much cleaner. Other than that the equipment is amazing And I love the Astro turf area for working out. They have pretty much everything you need. Something that would be nice is to add a wet sauna, But at a minimum More Lotion, deodorant, hairspray, mouthwash, ear swabs..
Also customer service is bad if you're trying to get in contact with somebody by phone. Other than that I love the fact that there's something very convenient here and grab a bluffs and I'm glad club fitness is there and not a Gander mountain. Which was there before..
If The sauna was clean better I give four stars if there was everything else that came with what I said before. I give five stars

My husband and I absolutely love this place and are very happy with it. We've been going there a week after changing from another local place. First, everyone is SO friendly. My last community center gym, your presence wasn't even acknowledged when you handed your membership card to check in. The second you walk in the door, you are greeted by multiple staff members. Joseph has been amazing helping us with our membership and he remembers me and my kids every time we come in. That really says something about him and his service. The staff is amazing and so helpful in general. The facility is huge, clean, and has so many options. You cannot beat the price for everything you get and the tanning beds are top notch for being included for the $20.99 a month! We've been in when the parking lot has been full but it never feels that way inside with everything so spread out. We are very happy with our decision.

I wish that I could say my husband and I are still happy with our decision but it has changed immensely. Unfortunately in October of last year, CF changed its plans. They no longer included child care or tanning in the membership we have when we signed the contract. We had no notice (I had to take a couple months off due to an arm injury and returned at the end of October to see a sign posted outside the locker room.) I complained at the desk and was told about a clause in our contract that said they could change amenities at anytime and we had to update our memberships to the "platinum membership ($15 more a month) if we wanted childcare or tanning. Thats and extra $30 a month in a time when inflation is insane and everything is going up. Mind you we make no more money than we did 4 years ago when joining. We are pinching pennies as it is just like everyone else. Unfortunately due to the last few years of political covid scare tactics, other gyms in the area went under so now CF has a monopoly on Fenton. There isn't anywhere to go but the YMCA (formally the Riverchase that also went under) and their membership prices are just as insane, if not worse. Aside from CF being able to charge what they want for fees, this has become a giant social club for old people who left Riverchase and high school/ college kids who have no gym etiquette. They all sit on their phones on the equipment or sit in groups and talk on the equipment so that no one else can use it. There is literally no time you can go when its not packed during normal human hours. I never thought such a huge building could be so packed. We can't use the kids club anyway so we've begun to shop around. If Planet FItness or some other reputable gym were to get into some of the prime real estate in Fenton, they'd give CF a run for their money. CF, I know we can't be the only unhappy ones at your business.

Raise rates and then took everything away so that you have to pay even more to get the same benefits you used to have. Took out the theater to put in another thing you have to pay extra for....just greedy now.

I enjoy working out at Club Fitness. My only gripe is the hydro loungers. The last time I went to use them, 4 out of the 6 weren’t working. No signs. Just unplugged. These need to be maintained better.

Pros: Great staff, wide range of equipment and open space. Good culture with most people reracking weights and cleaning equipment.
Cons: Gym is packed during reasonable hours the majority of the time. It doesn’t matter if it’s weekdays, weekends, morning, afternoon, or evening. Very early morning or after 9pm is the best time to go. Expect to be waiting for almost all equipment, especially benches, during most hours. They got rid of the cardio theatre, open to all, for a money maker rest and recovery. I am disappointed you have to pay for a personal trainer to use this new feature. I was excited for this and it is extra salt in the wound since you know this place is already making good money compared to most gyms based on the normally packed attendance.

From the time I walked in I was greeted by nice friendly and professional people. They made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions. They gave me a tour and I loved the setup and how c!ean everything was. I really enjoyed my workout, and for the first time in a while I slept 8 hours. I am excited to make club fitness a part of my routine.

I've been a member of the fenton club since they had pre sale in the parking lot i referred a ton of people to this location and always had a great relationship with everyone at the gym including the trainers (rip john) however with that being said I received a phone call from Matthew bohn on Thursday September 2nd telling me they were canceling my membership because I was aggressive with the fitness manager and didn't wanna discuss the issue I just wasn't welcome back to any club fitness amd they were canceling my membership which is totally ridiculous I told them to review the camera's and listen to the audio I wasn't out of line in any way i was 100% harassed and embarrassed in front of a lot of my friends by the employees and the manager told me upon leaving there was nothing to worry about and no report filled out and was discussed with the area manager as well but somehow i was the problem this is the short part of the story I tried calling him back and leaving a voice mail to further discuss the issues they had with me but he never returned my call
