while this is the first gym that ive used and I dont have other experiences to compare to, everything about this place has been great. I see a lot of reviews about the staff at the front. im not there to talk to the staff, just let me in and do my thing. it can sometimes be frustrating that i get asked if its my first time often (i go as a guest under my wifes membership) and i have to say no, instead of going straight for taking my number ti check in. I like that there are multiple versions of different machines so if one i want to use is busy, there's usually another option for me to go to. my issues that ive encountered are with poor etiquette from other members. like hogging multiple machines at once, sitting on your phone while not actually using the machine you're at, not wiping equipment, poor hygiene practices in the sauna and loud phones in there too. but my only real issues with the gym itself is that the hand sanitizer stations are ALWAYS empty, and i wish they would routinely clean the inside of lockers. ive been hesitant to be a gym member in the past but this place has me feeling right at home as a newcomer.

They spare no expense on air conditioning. Never worked out in a meat locker before. Good equipment and good facility, good staff but almost impossible to do hot yoga or hot workouts as the classes fill up in under 60 seconds. So that and the freezer are the biggest issues.

My experience here has not been the best. I been paying for a personal trainer and I been giving the running around. My first day, my trainer wasn’t there and I wasn’t made aware and showed up and that’s when I found out. Another time I showed up and I wasn’t even on the schedule even thought we agreed to that day and time and when I tried to reach the trainer no response but yet I’m still being charged. There was a time I reached out to move my day to another day and still got charged for a day I wasn’t seen and I just misses out on a day. Service here suck and can’t never talk to a manager. I don’t recommend getting a personal trainer and if for whatever reason you want to cancel you can’t or you have to pay for the remaining.

Crunch used to be an amazing gym — the staff was friendly, smiling, and created a welcoming environment. Now it feels like a completely different place. When you walk in, you practically have to beg for a proper greeting. The front desk staff usually sits around, playing or chatting, instead of acknowledging members or offering any assistance.

A warm welcome sets the tone, makes people feel comfortable, and builds real rapport. Unfortunately, the staff has dropped the ball. Maybe the great service was only during the promotional period, but the decline is obvious.

At this point, I’m seriously considering going back to Club Fitness.

I got a membership because the exercises I was doing in physical therapy I can do on my own. I've been to the gym 3xs. The first time was an early Saturday morning, no one was at the front desk to greet me or explain things to me and by the time the front desk attendant appeared, she didn't seem like she wanted to be bothered. The second time was about 5 am on a Wednesday and there were absolutely no leg machines available that I could use, which was the main purpose of getting the membership. I used the bike for a few minutes, then asked a staff member what are the slower times and he just said after 11am, I left after a total of 15 minutes being there. I tried to cancel my membership online, but received a call from a staff member, she informed me that I cannot cancel for two months.

Unfortunately, I have to go at inconvenient hours to get a decent workout. I went at 3am this morning and Lisa was professional, smiled and was very helpful. She patiently explained things to me and answered my questions. If it wasn't for her, I definitely would have canceled my membership.

I just St. Louis County courts filling a lawsuit against them. I requested my membership to be canceled two weeks after I started it due to my job profession keeps me away mostly, they still charged me and hit me with late fees even though its recorded that I asked to cancel
my membership, this place does not want to honor its own cancelation period time that it states..be aware of this (golds gym) type tactic. You should be able to cancel any time you want

Its 10/29/25 and I received a phone call today about owning money on a closed account from a collection agency and I proceeded to inform them that I closed this account two weeks after I opened it, and that im waiting on going to court to handle this matter. This reminds me of the same stuff golds gym was doing when trying to close ur account..Now that they have shared my information with so called collection agency and they called me rather send contact through mail is a violation of my privacy..

Trainer Chelle & Lisa at Front Desk are amazing. They make you feel so welcome & very helpful. Some of the other front desk employees are not as friendly & the one time I brought my twin granddaughters the childcare worker was not friendly and became very upset that 17 month old twins cried being left with someone new and she reprimanded me because I didn't hear my phone ring and told me it could have been an emergency even though I was 50 ft away in a dance class. Although I still workout there I don't feel comfortable bringing my granddaughters to the childcare center anymore. If you cannot handle crying babies maybe childcare isn't the field for you. She literally had her back to them while they stood their sobbing. Otherwise nice facility

My session with Alan-Michael was incredible. He got to know me at a personal level, worked with me to set goals, and developed a plan that would fit my needs. He was very knowledgeable and I left my session with him feeling empowered. I highly recommend him as a personal trainer.

Low quality gym with a nice paint job. Money pit with poor culture.They did not honor my medical freeze for Personal Training that cost me 400 a month. If you have to cancel before the agreement ends, make sure you have enough money to pay out half of the full amount of the agreement. (Over $2,500 for 6 months).

I will be bringing legal action against Crunch Fitness for scamming money out of my family. And I won't take any of this "we're sorry for your experience, please follow these steps to contact us". Nope. We did this multiple times, and money continues to be drained out of our account. It is hundreds of dollars at this point, which we don't have. We followed all the appropriate steps to cancel, and significant sums are being withdrawn every two weeks. No. It stops here. I'm calling my lawyer to get in touch with you.

I love the fact that it’s near my home however, the equipment is always broke. There’s never any paper towels and for it to be a 24 hour gym that should not ever be the case your maintenance people need to be more up to par with replenishing paper towels if you want your equipment, wipe down Also in the evening there’s a problem with people just sitting on machines without exercising their browsing on their phones, there needs to be some sort of rule that you have no more than 15 minutes to use the machine. People also hold machine machines for other people and this is only in the evening hours that I witnessed this.

Well I want to get my better judgement enjoying this gym. But I do the trial I was not satisfied so why did I join? The equipment was up to par to a certain extent. However the people that work here seem to be paying more attention to the conversations they're having at the front desk as opposed to speaking to customers. I asked one girl a simple question and she got an attitude and did not even answer the question. The manager had to take over and settled it with no problem. Also I've had to report too many times that they are out of paper towels and they are out of disinfectant to clean the machines off with. This means that of the six people that are consistently at the front no one is coming by and checking to see if they are paper towels or disinfectant there which means that I am concerned about the cleanliness issue. They are supposed to be cleaning the hydro massage lounge but how do they know? The summarized I've been to Crunch fitness and I've been to Planet Fitness and here at Planet Fitness and just overall better customer service I will be going back to Planet Fitness soon

Worst experience and waste of a lot of money. Trainer lied to me about availability to get me to sign up.
Nutrition part of it consists of them asking what supplements you're on and trying to sell you theirs they conveniently sell. Most trainers won't care you're logging meals.
It won't matter if you experience physical or financial hardship, you signed a contract.
Only one person is authorized to handle cancelations and it must be done in person to make things harder. Of course, you can sign up online.
Do yourself a favor. Save the money.

Nice gym but seems like they hired the first trash off the street they found. Employees act like they don’t want answer questions from paying customers. It actually felt like they had animosity towards me. Gym also only have about maybe 6 ellipticals. Would have been nice to know that before signing the contract. “Update 8/24/25: Still no resolution. I spoke to yet another manager this morning who claimed my refund was just issued on 8/22, even though on 8/9 shift manager Aubrey told me the refund had already been submitted and would take 3–5 business days. Then on 8/19, managing partner in training Samara Bohlen emailed me saying my account was canceled and “funds have been refunded,” which turned out to be false. I’ve now been given three different stories and still no refund.

The issue: My membership fee is $10.89/month, but in August I was charged $40.89 twice, in addition to the normal monthly fee, making my total for the month $92.67. Aubrey helped me cancel over the phone but admitted she had no idea where the $40.89 charges came from since her system only showed $10.89. Their app also hides these extra charges—it only reflected the $10.89, not the duplicates I caught on my own.

Bottom line: Between Aubrey, Samara Bohlen, and the most recent manager I spoke to, I’ve been told three completely different things with no real explanation or refund. I had to escalate this to my bank as fraudulent charges just to try to get my money back. Crunch makes it way too difficult to resolve billing errors, and I’d warn anyone to watch your statements closely if you’re a member.”

UPDATE 8/24/25: Still no refund, explanation, or apology. I called again today and was told my refund was “just issued” on 8/22—even though I was told back on 8/9 it was already processed and would take 3–5 days. On 8/19, I even received an email saying my account was canceled and funds had been refunded, which was clearly not true. I was also told my card was “probably just ran twice,” but that doesn’t explain why I was billed $40.89 twice on top of my regular $10.89 monthly fee.

Original Issue: In August, I was wrongly charged two separate $40.89 fees in addition to my monthly $10.89, totaling $92.67. When I called, the shift manager admitted the charges didn’t make sense and promised a refund in 3–5 days, but weeks later nothing was resolved. On top of that, the Crunch app only shows the $10.89 charge, not the duplicate $40.89 charges, so I had to catch it myself.

Bottom line: Crunch billed me wrongfully, made the refund process extremely difficult, and gave me multiple conflicting answers. I had to dispute the charges with my bank just to try and get my money back. Watch your account closely if you’re a member here—charges may not match what you see in their app.

UPDATE AS OF 8/24/2025, I have not received any response to my email, explanation for the charges, refund, or apology. I called up again this morning and spoke to another manager who told me they JUST issued the refund on the 22nd (I was told on the 9th they put in the refund and it’ll take 3-5 business days). Now im being told it was just put in, (when Tuesday August 19th Samara bohlen managing partner in training emailed me saying “ It appears your account was cancelled and it also appears funds have been refunded to your account. Are you still experiencing issues?”). I was then told that my card was “probably just ran twice” which still makes no sense. My monthly fee is $10.89 where did the $40.89 charges come from and why were those the ones that were “ran twice”?

Original review posted August 9th 2025 will be pasted down below as this is an updated review of my experience.

My monthly payments here were supposed to be $10.89, but August 4th I was charged $40.89 after already having augusts $10.89 monthly fee taken out of my account, I went up to the gym asked about it and requested a cancellation. I was told only a manager can do it that I would need to come back when one is up there, came up another time and a manager was not there. Few days later on August 9th I was charged again at 3:55am for another $40.89 making August’s total $92.67. Which I still have no explanation as to why I was charged that much. I called up to the gym that morning frustrated and was assisted by shift manager a****y, she helped me cancel my membership (over the phone) then explained she’s not sure why there’s duplicate charges or where the $40.89 came from because she sees on her end my monthly fee is $10.89 as well. She explained in 3-5 days I’d get a refund and I thanked her that was it. 10 days later August 19th I’ve emailed the corporate email I was left in the comments of the last review twice and haven’t heard anything since. It is now 10 days since my membership got canceled and they took $40.89, 15 days since they took the first $40.89 and 17 days since they took August’s month fee of $10.89. No refund, no explanation just frustration. I was told by many people watch how much crunch takes out because their in app payment history does NOT reflect how much they take out of your bank. For example it shows they took just one charge of $10.89 out shows nothing about the $40.89 dupe charges I had to look into that my own and ask them. Overall from my experience and others please make sure you are watching closely how much these guys take out of your account they WILL and have snuck charges in randomly not just with me but I’ve seen others that have had the same experience. Then they make the process to get a hold of somebody or have somebody do anything about this extremely tedious and difficult. It should never be this hard to get MY money back that I was wrongfully charged. Very very frustrating and disappointing. I have reached out to my bank and declared both charges fraudulent but now I have to wait for that to play out instead of A my monthly fee just not being wrongfully upped to $40.89 & taken TWICE on top of the $10.89, or B a refund being issued in the time frame I was told by shift manager A****y. I have reached out pretty much every way I could and never got an explanation for why the money was taken or an update on the refund.

I LOVE this Crunch !! The staff is amazing and my trainer Chelle is THE BEST. She is so knowledgeable of the human body and nutrition and has taught me so much more than just how to workout. I highly recommend doing a free crunch one kickoff with her to see how she can tailor a program to help you reach your goals. I did my in body scan today after working with her for a month and have gained muscle mass 💪🏽

The staff have become a mini family I truly look forward to my workout and seeing my little family in the morning. Shout out to Lisa, Abby, Peyton and Raymond. ❤️ 🥰

Definitely was hesitant about coming this the Florrisant location. Gym is nice but the workers are not very professional. Signed up for 6 months worth of personal training sessions and it was a whole mix up with scheduling my sessions that I’m not even going to get into. I came to the gym and spoke with the person that was supposed to train me and told her I was no longer interested in personal training anymore just for her to tell me that the person that handles all of that is not here today and can I come tomorrow. I told her I work all day tomorrow and I will not be able to come so she gave me his email to reach out to him, but another worker told me that he was actually here today and went and grabbed him for me, so she actually lied about him being there. Unfortunately, I cannot cancel my personal training because I am in a contract, but I cannot wait until these six months is up because I am definitely canceling this gym membership and going elsewhere. Had better experiences when I was with planet fitness.

Love coming to Crunch Fitness. The people are right about the classes filling up fast. However, I’ve learned to set a timer and check back again in case I miss the original sign up. I usually find a spot or just replan my workout schedule. Also, the gym is still new so I’m sure as time goes on they’ll offer more classes. I think patience is the key.

I attend the spin classes and the instructors definitely work us. I leave feeling great, rejuvenated and ready to be a better me. The staff are friendly. No matter if it’s earlier they greet you and I appreciate that 💗 It’s a win for me.

Gym is great. Love the place but staff members aren't friendly. Feels like I'm walking into a highschool. I've been going for 2 months. Only been welcomed by a Caucasian and Hispanic young lady I believe. I only see them on weekends..
Weird vibes from my own (black staff members) they never greet me. just weird looks and speaking under their breath. My lady has had the same experience. We go together often but we may end up canceling eventually. We are there to workout ONLY. Not deal with staff members giving off negative energy when they see us. Also Erica in the kids club hasn't been friendly with my Daughter Ava. I believe you guys need to get more professional staff members in the kids club.

Untrustworthy Practices - Avoid Personal Training at All Costs!

My experience with Crunch Fitness regarding personal training has been incredibly frustrating and dishonest. When I signed up, I was explicitly told that the bi-weekly personal training option came with an "anytime cancellation" policy. This was a complete lie.

After just two sessions, I attempted to cancel, only to be informed by the manager that I was required to complete four sessions before I could cancel. Reluctantly, I completed the additional two sessions. Upon returning to cancel again, I was then told I needed to provide a 30-day notice! I immediately pointed out to the manager that this crucial detail was never mentioned during my previous cancellation attempt two weeks prior.

This facility operates with manipulative and deceptive tactics, clearly designed to lock members into contracts and situations they don't want. This is one of the most untrustworthy establishments I have ever dealt with. I absolutely do not recommend Crunch Fitness for personal training due to their dishonest sales practices and lack of transparency. Be extremely wary before signing anything with them.

The machines are fine but they don't have as wide of an assortment of cardio machines as PF does, only one row machines and no Arc. Also cardio machines that they do have are way too close to each other. The staff is a trip. Everytime I ask for something the first person gets it wrong and another either steps in to correct it or I have to ask for someone else. Wrote in about it told them I wanted to quit after day 3 and then send a sorry to see you go 2 weeks later....I had already e any decided to stay because the annual fee had been taken out.. get it together florissant location.

I’ve been paying for a monthly membership for full access to everything, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get the full value out of it. The classes fill up within minutes of being posted, making it nearly impossible to book a spot unless you’re constantly checking the app or website. On top of that, the classrooms are really small, which limits how many members can actually attend. It’s frustrating to pay for access to classes that I rarely get to use. I hope the gym considers expanding class sizes or offering more time slots to better accommodate paying members. Honestly, I think they are promising more then they can give.

Guys please dont purchase any membership from here, No one is helping me downgrade my membership and change my gym home. Its even worst when I ask about cancellation. What's really unprofessional is when yall left me on hold saying let me speak to my manager about changing the gym for 25 minutes, no update no nothing! I even emailed them 5 days ago-it shouldn't be this hard to change and update information. At this point im just considering of just canceling over all because this is ridiculous.

This is by far the best gym I've ever gone to. Im 41 yrs old and have been going to the gym since I was 12 yrs old. Ive had plenty of gym memberships with every major gym you can name. I've had a personal trainer throughout my life. This gym is one of the best I've ever gone to. The equipment is top of the line. It seems the most beautiful people in all of Missouri workout here. I didnt even know this many beautiful people existed in Missouri to be honest. The classes, HIIT room, the sauna, tanning beds and massage tables are just a few of the awesome things this gym offers. Not to mention they are open 24hrs which is important to me.

I also have the most amazing personal trainer Sidd. She is so sweet, motivational and really knows how to help you to achieve your goals. Zumba classes are intense.

Can't wait to try other classes. This gym is so popular that its hard to get into a class. I hope they start offering more classes. Im sure once the newness wears off will get more openings with classes. People love this gym though. That gym is packed and honestly its pretty cool to see this many beautiful people existed to workout.

I love that the gym is also packed with trainers and customers. Its refreshing to see so many people working hard at there goals and they have awesome trainers to support them like this gym does.

I can see i will achieve my fitness goals at this gym. 💪

I know the gym is new and I love the equipment, the variety of workout classes. My issue is with the staff that work in kids crunch. They appear to be teenagers unfamiliar with working with kids. They call for every little thing, yesterday my workout was cut short bc they said my son eyes were red, he has allergies. To avoid confrontation i picked him up. They called me yet AGAIN today, this time saying my son was having a temper tantrum over losing a game. I really only thought they called for emergencies. I asked the young ladies if they had kids and they both said no. My son is 4 btw, I told them he's acting in the way kids act his age. Im sure other kids have cried and had temper tantrums throughout the day. I just wish they hire older staff that's use to working with kids. Anyone with kids would know this is NORMAL behavior.

I've been to AND compared costs to The Y, the community centers, Club Fitness, the RWC at UMSL (where I work), and even Planet Fitness (which is out of my way in every direction). This has the best bang for your buck.

I've always had an oddball schedule, and I'm someone who thrives on structure, like a gym class. This gym is 24/7 and has classes from 5:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Unlike most of the comments, I actually LIKE that the staff don't interact with you. I prefer to be as unnoticeable as possible at a gym.

My favorite amenities are the charging ports inside the free lockers and the way they do TV audio.

Wishes:
1. More gym class variety. There seems to be just one Zumba a day (my favorite), so it's always full. Most of the other classes are all HIIT, which I'm not into.
2. Ability to book classes MORE than 22 hours in advance. 48 is a fair compromise, I think.
3. Change in color for the cleaning stations. Most of the machines are black, which makes sense. But so are the cleaning stations, which are sprinkled throughout the machines. I walk around aimlessly trying to wipe down my machine because I can't tell the two apart.

The facility is wonderful! However the staff needs more training in assistance. Now that I signed up I haven't been unable to book a class and it's always full. I went on site today to get more clarification and all I was told was that alot of members are having the same issue and I should just show up for the class. I told her this is not a good plan for me because I have a 2 year old and I would hate to come and waste my time. She told me I can always use the other parts of the gym. I have a membership somewhere else and I could go there I only signed up for the classes and if I can't use them I want to cancel. She was more concerned about the line forming behind me and never resolved my issue. She said she would put my name on a list but I'm not confident because she already had moved on the next customer before I left the counter.

The gym looks great, the equipment is top-notch, and the staff are fantastic. On the surface, it has everything you’d want. But here’s the reality: gym etiquette here is almost nonexistent, and it’s killing the experience.

No matter when I come — morning, afternoon, evening, or weekends — equipment is constantly left loaded with plates. Leg machines, chest presses, benches — you name it. Every workout starts with me cleaning up after other people before I can even begin. I didn’t sign up to be the gym janitor.

I’ve brought this up to staff multiple times, but nothing changes. The gym talks a big game about keeping the space clean and organized, but in practice, it’s a free-for-all. If you value your time and don’t want to spend half your workout cleaning up after others, you might want to think twice.

Great facility. Great people. Terrible enforcement of basic respect in the gym. If I wanted to clean up after people before my workout I would have stayed at club fitness down the street. If it doesn’t improve soon, I’ll be looking elsewhere.

WOW!!! This gym is absolutely beautiful!!! I would have to pay double at any other gym to get ALL of these amenities. I mean, unlimited classes, red light therapy, tanning and hydro massage all INCLUDED!!! The staff is so welcoming and friendly! I highly recommend Crunch Fitness in Florissant!!!

For starters, the gym looks absolutely gorgeous!! All of the equipment is fantastic and easy to use!

The staff is incredible! They really create a welcoming environment and help you with anything you need! I did my personal training assessment session last week and the trainer they had me with gave me so much information and motivation that I decided to sign up for training myself!!

I highly recommend this gym to anyone and everyone!! I promise you won’t regret coming here!

I have only been to the gym a few times and I love it! The staff is very friendly, there is plenty of space in the gym including a private area to work on glutes. Their amenities are really nice and I love the red light therapy. This gym is awesome!

First time training at a Crunch gym and I am very impressed. It might be the most spacious gym I've been too. They took out the pool and basketball court that Gold's had to make more floor space and more equipment available. Huge dumbell area, several power racks and a wide variety of equipment. Very happy with getting a membership there💪
