Emerson YMCA has the friendliest staff and members ever!! I usually go to the YMCAs in my neighborhood, but I decided to drive 25 minutes to join a group fitness class at Emerson — and it was absolutely worth the trip.

I really like this gym and the exercise equipment's good, it's smaller gym the pool's great. I hate the locker room The showers are all open except for one that is nonfunctional. I need a stall, I had a stroke a year ago and need an enclosed area for balance and also for modesty. Also the swimsuit dryer doesn't work most of the time. The other YMCAs have several enclosed showers and then open showers. I don't understand why every single one of them except for one is wide open. I personally don't like to shower next to naked men, especially when I close my eyes to wash the soap out of my hair and fall over due to balance issues. Please fix the one and only enclosed shower.

My car was broken into while their security guard ran to McDonald’s. Well over $1,000 worth of electronics were stolen. Called the police who blamed me for a car that was stolen from here a week prior. Had my membership banned without speaking to the manager or police about the incident. Never saw my stuff again. Never received an apology. This place is a joke. Avoid it like the plague.

I have been a member of Emerson YMCA for almost two years. The facilities have clean workout spaces and modern gym equipment. I like the variety of fitness classes, so that anyone no matter what age can focus on their health. I am currently taking two different senior fitness classes and I definitely feel that I am getting stronger. I also like that Emerson reaches out to the community, and has events for the whole family. The staff are very friendly and never hesitates to offer help or answer questions. I would recommend joining Emerson YMCA to anyone looking for a fun place to work out and try new activities.

They're taking away space that's designed for children to play to build on an Affinia Healthcare which should have been used to add on more amenities to what's already in place. I think the community that it's attempting to serve should have had a say in the matter.

Sad that we were notified 3 weeks before school started that they will no longer offer YCLUB to the Hazelwood School District which is leaving me and a lot of families in a bind. Leaving us with no type of childcare to send our kids to before and after school. My child's school only has 3 daycares that go to my son's school and they are poorly reviewed and one has a wait list. It's ridiculous that some of us are at a stand still with no care for our kids. I understand its out of the leaders hands but they should have came up with a better solution and not just cancel the program.

I had to come into this location, to pay and sign my child up, I met with Ms. Kyla. When I met her, she has such a professional and positive energy about heard. She helped me with everything that I needed help with in a timely matter and also was a shoulder for me to vent to, and she didn’t have to do that but she took the time to talk to me while still getting everything done. Got my grandson a membership about 6 months ago and he and a few of his friends attend on a regular basis. He has been to a couple of other facilities but apparently likes this location! They are high school basketball players and go there to practice and keep in shape! I appreciate having a safe environment for the young guys to go after school and on weekends.

Unfortunately the pool was closed to lap swimming for a water zumba class "surprise" . Even the receptionist was surprised. It would be nice to have signs posted to pool closures in advance, or allow 2 lanes for lap swim all day like the other YMCAs. Even when other classes are taking up part of the pool. Communication problem.

Do not take your child to this location if they can not talk to u. I brought my child to the child watch center while I worked out. I usually use other locations but this was the closest to me since my move. My infant was being watched by a younger woman and an older woman. I didn't catch names until the director called me but won't mention to try to give some respect since the directordid call me and addressthe issue. About 2 minutes into my workout I see the older woman look out the window and shake her head I didn't think anything of it at the time. I was on the treadmill and could not see everyone in the room just noticed her at the window. When my treadmill reached right over 5 minutes the younger woman came out to tell me my son was crying a lot. I instantly turned the treadmill off and went to get my son. The younger women went to the front desk and my son was in the room with the older woman. When I walked in I noticed him screaming with his hands up wanting to be picked up I heard the older women throwing stuff around in a storage area. She did not notice I was there. My son was standing at the door when she SLAMMED the door in my sons face. She came out, noticing i was there trying to hand me animal cookies as I was walking out. At this point I had seen all I needed to see and didn't want a darn thing from her! The director did reach out and say they are taking this very seriously after confirming everything I said by reviewing video footage but I feel like everyone should know about this situation when considering taking your child here for a break. That is what I tried to do, was get a break to work out at a facility that I pay for every single month instead I got someone disrespecting my child. This was my first time attending this location and I looked at the reviews ahead of time but from the moment I walked in nothing felt welcoming about the environment! I learned my lesson the hard way hoping to save the next momma the trouble I went through

We had a basketball game at this location and they were very rude about their policies regarding the wearing of masks. The senior program director, Philip, brought me a copy if their policies. However, upon reading it, it seems that they are not following the very policies they were so rude about. Many of their own employees were not wearing masks over their mouths and noses. Also, the equipment was not disinfected. I was very disappointed in how the situation was handled.

I love their basketball program for young children. They have a nice fitness area and a pool you can actually swim in. Some of the other Y locations have small waterpark like pool areas, but nowhere to swim laps. They also have a scholarship program on their membership for those who receive snap benefits. There are so many programs for people of all ages. The staff is so friendly and helpful and there's a very peaceful environment here.

I love being at Emerson YMCA this is where I learned how to gain my strength and courage being in the water when I was a child I was pushed in a pool buy lifeguard and I guess he felt that this would make me swim and participate but it just put more fear in me but I go to the YMCA at Emerson practically everyday I enjoy being there when I first attended there I had been bedridden for 17 years my spiritual god sister Bessie took me there I've been there ever since I would have been there three years but I had surgery last year 2018 I honestly love being there when I first joined Emerson YMCA I weigh 240 lb and before I had left to have surgery in 2018 I I've dropped down to 176 lbs being in the Miracle Water that's what they we're calling it when I join the others that was already there and that's what I call it today I do not regret getting up that first day going now and I'm glad I'm there today I really love being in the gym and I wouldn't replace it for anyting God bless you all take care of yourselves and be safe at home and out and about my name is Donna Marie

You should be very proud of Emerson YMCA staff. They are warm people who put their customers first. If someone has a problem or need some support about exercising , they go out of their way to make sure the customer is satisfied, happy, and the situation is resolved.

My entire family has a membership at the Emerson YMCA it is like home away from home. We enjoy going for every activity. My husband is an active basketball coach. My son attends basketball, swimming, and camp and we love it all. I am grateful to go to an awesome place close to home. The only thing i would increase is the weight room. My children and I are at this Y location at least 2-3 days per week. My three year old has participated in the Youth sports program for soccer, t-ball, and basketball. She looks forward to it each week. I like the Child Watch option while I work out in the Fitness Room. The reason for four stars vs five is due to the lack of supervision at times in the Child Watch room. Sometimes the staff has been on their phone for several minutes without looking up. I observed this from the lobby area as my child played in the room and I waited for our ride to arrive. But that's an easy fix if the staff members are made aware of the dangers that could happen from having children unsupervised. Other than that, I would recommend this Y location to anyone in the nearby municipalities.

I enjoy the YMCA Emerson! I have a membership for my daughter's Y Club before and after program that's at her school. Now we are exploring other programs in the Y that are beneficial for my entire family. My children had expressed an interested in learning how to swim and its amazing that swimming offered even in the off months so that I don't have to wait until Spring/summer to get them signed up. I also will be signing my son up for sports to play in the winter which will keep him occupied as he is in the 7th grade. O really appreciate all the offers and programs available with the YMCA and its so close to home.

Very poor communication. I have been requesting a refund since May for Flag Football that was cancelled due to them not finding coach. I have been Promised a refund and I've received NOTHING! I I originally signed up for my kids to have swim lessons. They advertise them but don't offer them. They offer the classes at the Chesterfield location. If you're ever interested in your daughters playing co-ed basketball then find somewhere else. 😔 My daughter was super excited to play basketball for the summer, but no girls showed up. 😦 The staff tried their best to accommodate the lack of girl players. Both my son and daughter learned how to swim at the Emerson YMCA. Because of the water exposure at the Y, most all of our vacations are centered around ocean and water activities. I am at peace when my kids are out with friends swimming.

Hands down thee worst ymca location ever. Customer service is terrible. You can walk in and stand in line waiting on assistance and a lady is sitting there taking others who just walk in and waltz past the line. Maybe we all should just waltz up instead of respecting someone’s time and space by trying to do things the polite way. That’s not even what upset me. I called around 12pm and spoke to one rep who said that there was spots available for swimming lessons for my son that start on Saturday and to come up today and register. I also asked if I could register my son for latch key at Wedgwood for the month of May, she said yes, come today and he can start Thursday. I went as soon as I left work at 5pm. A different rep than the one I spoke with earlier, but the same rep that didn’t call to assist any people in line, but accepted walk ups, said there are no swim classes available for Saturday. Then said he couldn’t register for latch key. I said the other rep told me he could register a few hours ago, so she gave me the application. This whole process is inconsistent from one rep to the next. When my son was enrolled here in latch key 2 years ago, they were sending my personal receipts to my mom who hasn’t set foot in there in over a decade and was not listed on his paperwork as a parent. They claimed that she brought me there when I was a child so she is on my account and that’s why she was sent my personal information. I’ll be happy to see them do anything right. Frustrated and discouraged to the max. I don’t know why when we try to do things in our own community, the reps always try to make it seem like such an inconvenience to them, and some wonder why we leave to support other communities with our business. I asked for the branch manager and I was given a card and told that she doesn’t always come in. I’m contacting the Board of Directors and I won’t stop until there are results because this is ridiculous.

I had my children signed up for swim lesson and the scheduling just didn’t work out for us, we tried for a refund and we were told that we were going to receive one and after going months without being able to get ahold of the aquatics director and leaving numerous voicemails we are still without refund. I would definitely not recommend and most of the staff is ghetto and unprofessional.
