Teachers take their time to teach kids properly. They have classes that fit your schedule. If your child needs help with a certain skill they will work to get more time in the pool to master the skills.

Love Foss swim school and their teachers! Our kids learned amazing swim skills from them over the years. The restrooms and changing areas / showers are always very clean and updated. Our only complaint is when there are some children that are not behaving / that are distracting / splashing other children in the class, the class gets delayed and derailed. Wish they had a policy with parents to pull them out of the pool or maybe a manager to oversee / address the issues since it is so hard for the teachers to manage solo. Website is easy to use - and lovely facility and team! Thankful for their programs and visibility.

We just finished our second session at Foss and are amazed at the progress our kiddo has made! Our son can be very shy and doesn't open up to new people quickly, but he has loved his lessons with Ms. Natalie!! We were so lucky to have Ms. Natalie this past session -- she combines just the right amount of fun, while emphasizing the seriousness of water safety, and every-so-slightly pushing the kids to learn a new skill. All around, our experience with Foss has been great, highly recommend!

Bailey and the instructors have been amazing to work with. They make swimming fun for your children while still providing feedback on technique to make them more confident swimmers.. Only regret is we wish we would’ve found them sooner.

Came here for the first time tonight for our daughter’s evaluation lesson. We were greeted and shown around by Laura (she was SO nice). We were told our daughter would be on lane 3 and we walked over and sat down with her. Mind you, we have never been here before and didn’t know the rules. My husband and I were also sitting 2 feet from her. She was playing on the steps, waiting for her lesson to begin when the “manager” Natalie came over, SNAPPED her fingers at her and yelled (angerly and with a very unnecessary tone) at her to get out. She SCARED my daughter. Who is very sensitive and has been hesitant to do swim due to a prior incident. Completely unacceptable to talk to a child that way. I understand safety is their main priority but snapping at a child in that manner is NEVER okay. The worst part is she laughed afterwards and said “I probably traumatized her.” Really nice. My daughter ran to me and cried in my lap. I went to the front immediately to complain and was lucky enough to run into the sad excuse of a manager. I told her I was upset, it was unacceptable, and she said she CAN and WILL talk to children like that because of safety. Even though she could have nicely explained the rules to her or us, her parents who were sitting right there. When I said we were going to leave she said “good.” I think someone needs to be re-trained in customer service or even life communication skills. I don’t think working with children is what this awful woman should be doing. I went back into the pool area only to find that the VERY amazing swim teacher Izzy had gotten my child into the pool and she was having a blast. I was SO relieved that Natalie’s awful personality and nasty attitude didn’t completely traumatize her like I figured she had. We stayed the rest of the class but will be joining a different swim school for sure. Laura and Izzy, THANK YOU for being so great and welcoming. Natalie, find a different career path.

We have been coming to Foss for years with our two kids. The youngest has essentially grown up with the Foss family.
We have been so grateful for the excellence in teaching and the staff, but especially Yuliia, Bailey, and Izzy who make sure we are well taken care of.

We have been going to Foss for the past 5 years since our kids were just a few months old and we love everything about it. One of the main reasons we continue to go back each session is because of the staff. They are so knowledgeable, patient, and kind. They take the time to understand each kid and what they need in order to help them achieve their next level in their swim school journey. Our kids enjoy going each week. We would recommend Foss to anyone!

We love Foss! My son started lessons being scared of any water on his face and by the end of the spring session he was diving to the bottom to pick up rings with no problem.

The teachers are so patient but Ms. Yullia specifically was fantastic. She encouraged him, made the lessons fun, and gave homework for us to work on his skills at home and it really paid off!

My daughter was in the back float baby class and has made tremendous progress as well. I would recommend Foss to anyone! Money well spent.

They had said my daughter needed to repeat the class. Within a few weeks of the new class we needed to switch days. On the other days that her class was offered, the classes were completely full. Magically they said that we could advance her to the next level class so they could accommodate our schedule change. I feel like this place is money hungry and if they can make your kid repeat a class they will for their benefit.

This swim school is nothing short of incredible in every way! From the front desk and managing staff, to the extremely knowledgeable instructors - we have always been 100% satisfied with our service, classes, and childrens' progress!!! We especially love the ability to do private lessons and the small group class sizes. The facility is so clean and well kept, with plenty of areas for family to watch their kids swim and also entertain other siblings. We couldn't be happier switching to this school after trying other local ones. Highly recommend to anyone needing their kids (or themselves) to learn to swim!!!

We've been taking our daughter to Foss Swim School, and it's been nothing short of amazing, all thanks to Teacher Colin. He's got this awesome way of making each lesson super fun and engaging. It's not just about swimming; he's always coming up with cool new ways to teach and keep the kids excited about learning.

The place itself is super welcoming and always spotless. It's the kind of spot where kids can really have a blast while learning. Plus, I love how they're all about making sure the kids not only learn to swim but also to love and respect the water. Safety first, but in a way that's really enjoyable.

Teacher Colin is a gem – he's kind, patient, and really knows his stuff. My daughter can't wait for her swim lessons, and it's awesome to see her getting better and more confident in the water each week.

So, if you're looking for a great place for swim lessons, Foss is it. It's friendly, clean, and the team there genuinely cares about the kids. Big thumbs up from us!

Their recent policy change for make up classes is just unfair and beware of it. They are asking parents to teach swimming in the make up class. If you have a pool, why would you teach your kid at their facility. They probably are signing up too many kids beyond their instructors capacity. My kid is in a class that has 3 other kids and it’s just 30 mins class. If you are honest to yourself, you know kids are not going to get enough attention in a 30 min class that has 4 kids. Remember, greed only takes you so far.

We have been going to Foss for about a year and a half now and I would definitely recommend it. Both my kiddos (6yo and 1yo) love going to swim class. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I enjoy the smaller swim class size as I have felt my 6yo gets better/more direct instruction than in previous swim schools with larger classes.

I highly recommend Ms. Natalie. My 6yo has worked with Ms. Natalie for 2 sessions (spring and summer) and the progress she has made as been absolutely incredible. Ms. Natalie went so far as to give us "homework" that my 6yo could practice at home to improve her skills and it PAID OFF. Leaps and bounds of improvement. Ms. Natalie is a firm but fun instructor. She encourages fun, but prioritizes safety and making sure all the kids are safe.

We have also loved Mr. Nolan, Ms. Hanna, and Ms. Tori. They have all been such fun loving, caring, patient instructors who truly have made my kids love coming to swim class each and every class. Ms. Hanna and Ms. Tori have been excellent with my 1yo and so patient with any young swimmer. Mr. Nolan knows the balance of crazy and serious and keeps my wild 6yo focused and trying hard. His "races" are keep the kids engaged but also eager to get the technique right.

My kids have made tremendous progress at foss swim school this quarter with regular weekly classes plus add-a-swim.

I’d like to especially rate my experience with Miss Natalie. She provides individual instruction to my kids age 9 and 6 during their add-a-swim class each week. She uses firm guidance, challenges my kids, helps build their confidence, and uses gentle humor to help them both progress in the specific skills that they need to advance to the next level. It’s amazing how much progress my kids have both made in such a short time! My daughter loves her British accent as an added bonus!

I’d also like to shout out instructor Gabe! He’s been amazing with my 6 year old son in the pool. He quickly got my son to wear his goggles and get his head in the water, despite some sensory issues that he has. He challenges my son to do things outside of his comfort zone while also having fun!

This is our first experience with swim lessons for our two year old and she absolutely LOVES it! She has the best time and gets so excited when we tell her she’s going swimming. We’ve definitely seen improvement each and every week and even though you repeat the same skills each week the teachers will introduce variations once the kids are up for it. Overall a fantastic experience!

My two daughters (7 and 4) have been at FOSS for the last three years and I just started my lessons as a 41 year old who is terrified of putting my face underwater.
Every interaction I've had with every single FOSS employee has been terrific. Each swim instructor, each front office staff member, and every person I see between the swim lanes and the front door have always been first class.
Bailey, Colin, and Chloe have gone beyond the level of FOSS employees who teach my kids (and me) how to swim, they are individuals who are vested in my daughter's growth as both swimmers and individuals.
When scheduling my daughters for higher level classes Bailey used the term "comfortably uncomfortable." I LOVE that phrase and now use it all the time.
Colin has been a teacher of my oldest for three sessions now and he is the exact right fit for her. He pushes her, gives her specifics of what she is doing right, what she can do better, and then lets her know he expects her to do better. Then she does.
Chloe is going to be teaching my youngest this coming session. We have had some really great teachers in past sessions and I am really excited to see what Chloe is able to get my youngest to do. Chloe has developed an organic relationship with my daughter over the years so I think she's going to be able to push her to a whole new level!
My own instructor for adult classes is patient, works with me where I'm at and also works with the other two individuals in the class with where they are at.
When I'm able to swim laps I'm going to be proud as an old dog that learned a new trick.
As my daughters continue to become more confident swimmers and enjoy the water in ways I am still not comfortable, I am overjoyed.
The partnership (and I really believe it is exactly that) our family has been so lucky to have entered into with not just FOSS, but the individuals that work at FOSS, is what every family is looking for.
My kids run into FOSS looking for people to hug. They love it there.
Thank you all for being great to my daughters,
Eric

We were spoiled as our oldest was a born waterbaby, but our youngest never enjoyed water or bathtime. We started at 3 with only being able to join the acclimation class, and have progressed well. What is more important are the relationships the staff have built with my toddler, which helps more then anything to build trust for the lessons. We're very pleased here!

So we started attending Foss this past summer and have continued with swim lessons until this week. Our first two semesters were wonderful that we decided to enroll in private lessons. Mind you these are quite pricey and I would expect the class to reflect that. Here are my issues that have arisen.

1. My little one was in a lane next to a class which was equally distracting for the price we were paying. Mind you that there was an entire other pool empty minus a baby class. So why am I paying THIS MUCH for a class that is basically group.
2. We had our first evaluation this week. I was so excited to hear how my little was doing. We arrive and our teacher starts prepping my daughter to behave and be super serious. I get it, she’s probably being evaluated too, right? But you can’t have fun and make this a fun environment every week and expect a 4 yo to be super serious this one week. Now, let’s move on to the supervisor. This supervisor has been present 1 week that I can remember. And for her evaluation she saw one skill and wrote her off. Excuse me? I am PAYING for a class and evaluation of her skills. Not just one. And I watched her evaluate the class next to us on EVERY skill.
3. We learned the same skills every week, but when you tell me that she needs to master one skill to move up levels or be evaluated properly then WORK ON THAT skill.

We have to pay for the entire session regardless if we continue to come. Oh we get a CREDIT, but the classes are poorly structured and we paid way too much for the quality instruction and evaluation that we received. So they are basically getting hundreds of dollars for us to never return.

I HIGHLY recommend looking for an alternative swim school. We have found ours and in 15 min my little learned more skills than she did in months there. And the skills were taught appropriately and to teach her to actually swim.

We are very pleased with the management and swim instructors at Foss Swim School. My toddler can be a handful yet the instructor kept her focused and on task. We chose the once a week group lesson for the entire summer, but other options are available. Parents can sit and observe their swimmers right by the pool or in the large, air conditioned lobby. I enjoyed being by the pool and hearing the teacher's direction while my husband watched from the cooled area. We are signed up

If you're thinking of putting our baby in this class. Look elsewhere. They got a new instructor who just doesn't work well with babies. Class was a cluster and just it isn't worth paying 12 weeks for. Always the same stuff. I get repetition is great but they don't spice it up. I feel whoever is in charge of what's taught needs to reevaluate, ask parents what they like and dont like about classes, and add new things in a similiar manner. Have kiddos do the mat in the beginning some classes, with a different song sometimes, have babies go under the pour spout in different ways..

I will not personally sign up again. I feel like I'm better off looking up stuff online and going that route and saving money! And for the price you pay, you would think they would have more structure.

I have never written a negative review ever. Unfortunately I did not have a great experience with this school. I signed my daughter up for classes earlier this month. 3 days before the class, I was refunded the money that I paid with no explanation. I called the school multiple times on Monday and no one answered. I sent emails and left voice mails. I was not sure if I was going to be attending the class that evening. My grandma went up there to see what was going on, they finally called me back and told me I should have received a notification that the class was canceled due to "lack of staffing." I did not receive this email. I asked if there was any other classes she could sign up for, he said no. I received an email later that night that said they had a class for my daughter on Wednesdays. I replied to the email twice asking what I needed to do to get her signed up for this class. NEVER responded to me. I called 3 times, no one answered the phone! I left voicemails, and nothing. I finally get a response on FRIDAY from her, stating if she didn't come Wednesday then my daughter will only be able to attend 7 classes instead of 8. I replied to Staceyann's email stating that I was not sure if my daughter was placed in the class because I NEVER heard back from her and I was not sure what I needed to do to sign her up for the class. Again----- no response in 5 days now. if they actually answered the phones and replied to emails I would have never written this review!

FOSS swim school has made my daughter much more confident in and around water. Even making our bath time easier! She is no longer afraid of water in her eyes or ears. Their classes are simple but effective and their staff is professional and fun.

I was very impressed with the swim school and the coaches however they should let people know up front before paying that you cannot get a refund under no circumstances.

We have swam with Foss for several years in IL. When we moved to MO we definitely couldn’t wait for the new facility to open up. Both our girls swim at Foss and will continue to. All the staff is super friendly and give you good feedback and tips on the progress of your child.

Wish all swim programs were this good. This place spoils you. Highly recommended.

Foss swim school has a great facility. It is new and clean and high quality. The teachers are very well trained and super friendly. Our favorite is Maiya. My kids enjoy going and every week they improve their skills exponentially even after years of swim lessons at another school. The classes are fun but also very safety focused which makes mom happy. It is nice knowing my kids will be safe in the water! I’d recommend this place to anyone with kids! Although they have adult classes too.
