I have been coming to this location for a while and I use to really love it but lately it seems the air conditioning hasn’t been working it feels better outside than it does inside the gym. Also my boyfriend has not been able to use the sauna for months due to it not working and does not seem to be a priority even though we pay our membership monthly but lately it seems like for what? Again I love this location just wish some things could be taken care of.

I've complained several times about the air conditioning, but no one seems to care. The temperature in the workout area is 78 to 80 degrees, but the temperature at the front desk is a comfortable 71 degrees! No sweating up there! If it wasn't for the AC, I would give the place 5 stars.

Wow, Genesis Charges a $50 annual fee that they just randomly decide when they will charge, on top of one of the most expensive membership fees for a mid gym. Then when you cancel, YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY 3 MORE MONTHS! Ridiculous policies.

I’m 77 years old and they always accommodate me for what I am able to do. They are very encouraging, and always make me feel like I belong here, but I do wish they would fix the equipment and get the air conditioning in the workout room fixed because it’s so hot in there. And the equipment that breaks down, it takes very long to get it fixed. Classes are very good and I really enjoy the instructors. They’re all willing to work with me. Travell one of the best and E’lisa challenges me to really work hard. Thanks for helping me to stay young. When I come through the door Kason knows my name and always gives me a big smile.

Typical gym they will take your money anyway they can and offer you no resolution. Cost me $130 to sign up for a month to month plan. I tried to cancel it yesterday I got charged for the next month today. They won't refund the money so now I'm out $200 and I've been there one time. You are better off spending your money on some workout equipment and working out at home.

I pay $1,200 (for 2 members) with a contract at Genesis. For the high price I expected safe, reliable, WORKING equipment to work out. The worst of the issues you can’t see because you have to use them to get how unsafe they are.
The equipment is not maintained, the price is way high, they charge $100 for early cancellation, there’s a 12 month commitment, they don’t have many other locations. The amenities are good however not worth the price. The staff is ok. The classes are good. There’s always a few questionable characters that frequent this particular location but I’m not sure if that’s just here or a Springfield thing.
GO TO PLANET FITNESS INSTEAD!!!

Genesis has been so good for my body, mind, and soul!!! I wanted to work on myself after having a baby and have now found a comfortable spot to focus on my health! For those who are reading this review that have been to North side Genesis and had a bad experience with previous management I'd like to encourage you to check out the new management and give it a chance. The staff is still classic and classy as always but the new management is top notch and worth the second look. For only being in place for a few months they have done more for the place in the short amount of time than the previous ones in the last couple of years. Take this from someone who has been a member there coming up on five years and has seen it come and go. I am in awe of what they have done and the positive environment and vibe they have brought to the place. By all means take a minute or two to check them and the place out, it is definitely worth your time! Hopefully I'll meet you there!
Also I would like to add that there is a trainer there by the name of Cameron, or Cam as I like to call him, I would suggest you take a look at as well. I have no complaints about any of the trainers there as they all are great but if you are someone looking to help you put on muscle mass and will push you to get there Cam is the guy I would recommend. I've worked with him twice and he challenges me each time. I also enjoy being able to pick his brain when he has time and always is helpful with tips and other great advice to elevate my workouts. I've been a gym rat for well over ten years and he has helped elevate my workouts each time and when i workout solo. He has also helped me get wiser at my approach to my workouts and knowledge of what I'm doing and why. Great guy and even greater trainer. Want them gains? Check him out!

The best experience I've had with a gym. The other patrons are nice and foster a positive environment. The staff are fantastic and are always willing to answer questions. My fiancé and I joined Genesis a couple weeks and honestly surpassed my expectations. Clean facility, healthy environment, all the employees and trainers are very helpful and encouraging. Day one, we were greeted with excellent customer service and transparency. Our trainer, Cameron, is probably the best part of our experience so far. He’s patient, excellent communication and motivation skills, and definitely knows his stuff. I’ve been out of the gym for 3 years, my fiancé is new to working out. I just want to share that this gym is honestly so wonderful and inclusive, it really feels like you’re surrounded by your buddies when working out. Every person I’ve encountered is conscientious of themselves and so friendly. The environment is so chill, you see people singing/dancing to their music on their headphones, the group classes never make you feel isolated, and PT sessions always feel like I’m working out with a gym buddy, which has helped me mentally push through to get my physical goals. The whole place is so clean and I feel like they have every piece of equipment you need without losing that small/intimate feeling of a local gym. Jeff, Travell, and Brea have been so kind and informative over these past few months that I’ve been going and Brea especially has helped me fall in love with working out again. 15/10 recommend this gym if you’re looking for a place that you can workout and be part of a little community!!

Every time we're in Springfield for work, this is the only gym we go to. Jeff and Darren made sure that my coworker and I could get some great workouts in while we're here.

Everything in this Genesis, from the lifting racks & weights, to the machines, are top-notch. Kinda feels like a hidden gem gym (wordplay), since there's people there, but there's never a wait for the machines/racks. They also have free chair massages and cycling classes.
