Gold's Gym is a well kept place, and a good place to work out, and its open 24 hours. Skilled trainers and excellent services.

As a former GGX instructor I suppose I'm a little biased but we've pretty much lived at Gold's over the last couple decades. (A few breaks here and there.) The kids club is great, the machines are well maintained. The facility is overall very nice. The GGX room is great too. Instructors are top notch.

Been a member here for 5 years.Great equipment for beginners to athletes, bodybuilders, powerlines, cardio enthusiasts, etc. Outstanding variety of classes from boot camp, spinning, water aerobics. Front desk always friendly, place well kept. Now that Pixie Gerken, the former manager is gone, one of the most legitimately disgraceful human beings I've ever met, it's better. Manager Craig Prindle runs a great gym from top to bottom. Front desk attendants Justin Moll, Michael Dennett, Mason Palmier, Iya, among others, are always courteous, helpful and go out of their way. Place well kept, clean. Good gym!

Good gym and kept pretty clean. Only downside is the water aerobic classes are during peek times where others are trying to swim laps

Good facility altogether, but very pricey and not flexible in terms of plans. Once you sign up you are locked for a year. No options for people who want to sign up for a specific amount of time less than a year but more than a month

This is a great place to get your workout on. But the amenities are very basic. There's no pool, no steam, no sauna, no hottub. So again, very basic. However, that aside you can most definitely get the job done here.

I originally got into a contract with Gold's Gym two years ago, feeling like I was ready to make the commitment to work out on a regular basis. The issue I found at this gym is that I needed more direction than what my own work out regimen provided.

When trying to find someone to help me through this difficulty I was experiencing, I found that no one was ever at the desk when I was visiting. (Not the front desk, but the work out floor desk that I can't remember the name of.) Several days later, after trying one more time on my own, I determined it was time to find a new membership that would provide the direction I required to stay motivated and gave this location a call as my first attempt to cancel. I was informed that they provided various classes, but none of these classes were at a time I could attend. Instead, I just stopped attending the gym and continued to pay my dues, despite never attending.

A couple of months ago, I gave the location another call to try to cancel over the phone. I was told I had until March but had to come into the gym to cancel. Just last week, I was charged again, a rude reminder that my two year obligation was coming to an end. Another call today and now they tell me there is a 30-day cancellation policy, meaning that I will be charged yet again for an additional month that I will not use.

TL;DR... If you know you're ready to commit to working out, but you also know that you need more direction than you can provide by yourself, do not go to Gold's Gym. There are plenty of other companies that can provide you with the instruction you need, such as 9Round or Orangetheory Fitness. Don't do what I did and jump headfirst without truly thinking about your decision. Try each location out first and take your time to decide on which gym is right for you.

Smaller than the larger Gold's Gym's in the area. Β This quaint gym has a nice theater, adequate aerobic machines, free weights, pool, jacuzzi & sauna. Β However, lacks sufficient number of weight machines. The showers are the most updated & cleanest of the Golds Gyms within the metro area.

Talked to Jessica Alden (she told me that she is manager), not sure about it. Very rude woman ..
Overcharged my credit card and didn’t want to fix the problem, I asked for her name and employee id, she refused to give it to me… finally I found her card on the desk. Asked her to call me and cancel my account a day before, she didn’t do it… Finally came to the club and force her to do it in front of me… We been members of Gold's Gym for many years, and never had any problem like that before. Where the Gold's Gym is founding employees like Jessica??? After customer service like that just want to cancel ASAP and never come back… No respect …. Will talk to all my friends and tell them to move out of this club on 13867 Manchester Rd, Ballwin, MO 63011 !! ASAP. Please be careful with this place and check all out … Will escalate it to the main Gold's Gym office as well …

One of the better locations for sure. Newer equipment, awesome strength training center with multiple squat racks, a power rack and full line up of bumper plates. Really nice dry sauna too, with one for guys in the locker/shower rooms and the ladies have one of their own too.

So I really like the facility. Great machines and free weights. Cardio cinema is cool and pool/spa are great. The clientele are a diverse bunch and most people are courteous and respectful and into fitness.

The problem is the staff.... I’ve been to many gyms in many parts of the country and I’ve never seen such a physically unattractive staff. Yuck!

Each one is fatter than the next. Trainers, front desk, managers, salespeople... it’s like they’re saying β€œthis is what NOT to look like.” Guys and girls, you work at a gym, not Krispy Kreme. There’s this one sales guy who has the desk at the far wall who is at least 80-100 pounds overweight. I’ve been coming here for months and I think he’s actually gotten fatter in that time. I think he wears one of those really tight undershirts to like brace all the fat in.... try actually working out at the gym that employs you.

I’m not saying the staff should be a bunch of stick figures and steroid freaks... but I do think it’s important to lead by example and advocate a healthy lifestyle when you work at a gym.... which by the way, doesn’t mean lift weights and go eat double cheeseburgers every chance you get.

Edit to the original post: Molly is super cute. She’s the one exception to everything written here.

We are spoiled in St. Louis with this gym. Returning from NY Long Island and Golds out there don't rate compared to this one at all. If u can't get in shape here you will never get into shape. They have the most kettlebells I've seen anyone carry. Being an avid user that matters. Plenty of equipment even has a pool. This gym has Donna Froneyberger as a PT and she is amazing. Love the free weights. One stop shop for my fitness needs.

Don't use this gym!! Beware! They have ripped us off hundreds of dollars. We paid in advance for the 6 months on four accounts and are still batting to get our money. They are still, after months ago cancelling our memberships, taking money out of my account each month. It's awful! You can't talk to anyone in a corporate office to get it strait. All you get is the run around and still having money taken from you!! Don't use this gym!

Overall I like it but the womens showers really suck. Low water pressure, cold water, and sometimes the showers are not working at all. I have mentioned it to the staff but there has been no improvement. Issue has been going on for months.

I am an exercise-class junkie. Instructors are top rate. Exercises are friendly. Routines change up. There is variety. Step. Yoga. Body flow. Body pump. Water aerobics. Facility is well designed, clean, high ceilings. Spacious in locker room. Love the cinema room for a bout with the elliptical. And the swim suit quick dry Machine after a wet class. The only thing missing is water bottle filler station.

I just finished my first year at this location. I love it, plus since it's a corporate facility you have access to all the other corporate gyms in the area. The staff is great and the gym is very clean. I workout in the mornings and everyone is very respectful. Ages range from 30-seniors. All the equipment is working well. Also I read some reviews below about it being a 24 hour before, that was a different location.

We have never been members of Golds Gym, but were members of 24 Hour Fitness at this location, before it was purchased by Gold's this year. Even though we'd canceled our 24 Hour Fitness membership back in January, and hadn't gotten a bill since then, in August Gold's Gym re-activated our canceled account, and started charging us again.

Simple mistake, you're thinking, should be easily fixed... not so much. Two hours on the phone with support and managers, and still no help, and no refunds. They want proof of canceling a membership that we never had. They refuse to refund three months of charges.

Time to report the credit card fraud, and definitely won't ever be a Gold's customer in the future. Their business model seems based on keeping people locked in, even people who never signed up in the first place!

Gym has gone downhill in the last two months. Not clean in pool area--mold and grime on floor--slime on handrails. Tonight was last straw. I had to go into three different shower stalls to find one without clumps of hair in the drains. Desk guy didn't care. I complained earlier in a survey and have talked with the manager and several employees. Nothing happens except things get dirtier. Sad. I liked this place. I wonder if they will close.

Great equipment. Management not so much. Pixie Gerken does not allow guest passes unless they commit to a membership. Hard to bring anyone here without a 20 min wait and a headache. Helped with maxing.

I have been a member to golds for 3 months. Normally I go to the Fenton or Ballwin locations due to my commute to work. I have been going here due to the fire at the Ballwin location for a week now. The workout area itself is great along with a couple of the front desk workers. The upper management (specifically PIXIE GERKEN) on the other hand is absolute garbage. For bringing a guest in for a 3 day free pass that is printed on their website they will not accept it unless you buy a membership there where on the coupon it says, "no commitment required." The lack of customer service is disturbing and I will refuse to pay for a company that treats their potential customers with this much lack of respect.

Joshua Rudd in evening told my daughter that she cannot exercise because the contract has expired and moved her out of the exercise area. I took off from my clinic to come and take care of the issue the lady on Tuesday morning who was overworked as there was only one person on the front desk took a long time to so sort out the issue while I waited patiently. Today when she went back to exercise the kid at the front desk took her out of the gym and told her that she cannot work out. His name was Joshua Rudd and he was disrespectful with an attitude said that her membership has expired and when I told him that I have a family membership and that I came and spent around an hour taking care of the issue. He said I cant do anything it's the system. Can you imagine a big system like Golds Gym has problems with registration? Staff need a lot of customer service training. I will end my membership tomorrow.
