Managers do not fulfill their deals at all! We prepaid this gym counting on getting a Full body scan and routines that were supposed to be given by a professional personal trainer, but their manager set an appointment with that personal trainer 2 times and the personal trainer cancelled both times because he was overbooked by a mistake, and after that, the personal trainers were never available unless it was during business hours when I work. Same with the limited group classes. This gym is not for people who work during office hours. Thanks for nothing!

Great place to work out at the right time, can get a bit busy during prime hours. Other than that, an amazing place to work out and the staff is always very very nice.

Complete RIP OFF. I took the Gold membership for $99 per month. They said it is a 3 month contract and I can cancel after 3 months. I tried to cancel my membership after 3 months, then they said I should give a one month notice in advance to cancel it and charged me in the 4th month. After cancellation they charged me again in the 5th month saying that I cancelled in 4th month. I spent so much time on calls talking to them, but in vain. Its a SCAM.
They assigned me to a trainer who was always busy in helping personal trainees. I never received a single tip from him.
I want to give 0 stars if I can.

I belonged to this gym for over 5 years, when they were 24 hour fitness. They got bought from Golds, stayed with them for a few years but I moved so I wanted to cancel my membership. Went up to cancel my family membership. Only to later find out that they only cancelled my membership and not the family. They charged me for 6 months for a membership I never used, over $300. I told them and showed them the paper I signed when I cancelled but they didn't accept it as cancelling the "Family Membership"

I would of liked to visit and get membership but i am very concerned about all these billing issue comments. Has anyone had these resolved and has there been appropriate follow through with all the management comments? Makes me leery to spend my money there🤔

Did they increase the monthly free this new year? I see that my January 2018 fee is 9.88 higher than my December 2017 fee.

Gold's gym continues to charge even after we cancel. First, cancellation is a hassle... They made both of us come to the gym to submit a membership cancellation. We made the trip and put in our cancellation and yet we continue to be charged. When I called them, they said they have not received our cancellation. They argued that I never put in my cancellation. It took me about 15 calls and countless number of hours on the phone to finally talk to a manager and stop being charged. Seems like an experience that many others are having. SUCH A SCAM.

They charged my credit card incorrectly. The same day I told them of that fact and that they need to refund me as I did not authorize the transaction nor use this service. It has now been close to 30 days and I still do not have my money. the transaction nor use this service. Golds says that it needs to be approved by corporate regional. Funny that they can take my money at a location but I can’t get my money back until corporate says so. You do realize that while they’re holding my money they’re earning interest on mine and thousands of other people who are also being ripped off.

I am relocating to St. Louis and am here to find a place to live. The gym I belong to isn’t in St. Louis, so I tried the day pass to Golds Gym. I only needed the TM for a 6 mile run but I use the gym 2-3x a week, more in inclement weather. So I figured I’d see how Golds Gym was. I HATE IT. I showed the guy at the front desk my email and he treated me like I had no right to be there and I was ruining his day. the computer wouldn’t work and he got really upset about this, it was like his whole day was just terrible (it was 8 an mind you), and I was the one ruining it. Like I said, I’m visiting, so I didn’t think to bring a towel bc my gym back home has them and so does this Marriott. You can BUY one for $7. I would’ve done that but as he was showing me the towels (which was super inconvenient to whatever he was doing), the phone rang and he threw a towel at me and said “I gotta get the phone” and literally ran away from me. I forgot my wallet or couldn’t find it and besides he was ignoring me bc whoever called him was way more important than a potential client standing right there wanting to buy merch (thank goodness I couldn’t find my wallet!!) so I used paper towels. The gym equipment and the general public seemed nice enough. I only use the TM really and there were plenty. I sweat A LOT. So I got that TM nice and sweaty and couldn’t finish my little run soon enough. He told me to “have a good rest of my day” when I left, I was shocked! Needless to say I will NOT be going back to ANY Gold’s Gym.

Would put a 0 star if possible. Went there for a few months and had my payments on recurring payment. I tried to cancel and went in person, filled out my cancellation form and am continuing to be billed three months later. I can't cancel my auto payment because they changed it from a recurring bill to charging my card individually each month as soon as I tried to cancel. They state they have lost my cancellation paperwork and will not cancel my account unless I fill out paperwork again. Dishonest policy's from a dishonest company. Would not recommend unless you are committed to never cancelling

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Bought my son a one year membership for Christmas last year 2016. Called in November 2017 to see if I needed to do anything to ensure it cancelled on time and avoid any additional charges beyond December 2017. Young lady in the office assured me it would cancel and no charges would apply. Got billed in January and February. Called Golds back and spoke to Jared who said he would have to talk to him GM. GM (Mike) called me and said too bad that I needed to come in and cancel in person. I told him I called in November to make sure I had taken care of the details and his associate advised me nothing had to be done. Mike basically said that he didn’t believe my story and pretty much too bad! Got his Gms number who I’ve called but given the attitude that Mike had, not sure they will call back. They do not take responsibility for what their employees tell you so be sure to take names and numbers or always talk to the GM who still doesn’t seem to have any authority unfortunately. Clearly they do not care about repeat business as or reputation. Very disappointing.

I had the same issue as Erik Omlid.
Worst cancellation experience ever. I have been trying to get hold of the manager for two months now and the front desk person is yet to find a manager to handle the cancellation for my membership. I finally thought I cancelled the membership by finding some customer care phone number online, and they refunded the fee for Dec 2017. I thought the cancellation finally happened. I check my CC statement today and I see that they charged me again for Jan 2018. Never doing business with Golds gym ever.

I like going here but the facility has been noticeably very dirty lately. The elliptical machines have dust/dirt all over them and pedals have been accumulating enough loose dirt to make your feet slip when running. I don't mind cleaning the machines myself but not when it takes 5 or 6 paper towels to get the dirt off! (Last night one of the machines had a hunk of dried mud on it!). To other members...please don't track in mud from your yard. At least bring clean shoes!

I signed up and took advantage of the 3 training session package! I was teamed up with Tate Gordon. He is an amazing instructor! He's very knowledgeable, supportive and motivating! He knew how to substitute and modify some of the exercises that were not a good fit for me. He's so personable, kind and fun too! Overall, I really like Gold's Gym, too! The facility is clean and I like the layout/set up of this location. They have alot of great classes that are part of the membership. I love Bodypump and yoga! This gym is totally affordable, too! I recommend Gold's, as well as Tate as a trainer! If you get an opportunity to work with him, do it!

The worst people to deal with when cancelling your membership. After about 12 phone calls, 2-3 months of lies from their management team, and even messaging the Headquarters about the problems, I'm nearly having to buy a plane ticket to fly back to STL to deal with this in person. Here's the never ending looped process of Gold's Gym customer service...
1. I call the location
2. Front desk responds
3. I say I'd like to speak to a manager
4. I'm asked why
5. I say I need to cancel due to relocation
6. Front desk says let me get the manager for you
7. Front desk comes back and says the manager is busy and told me that you have to come in to cancel
8. I call it a lie (knowing they do relocated cancellations by providing proof of relocation over email)
9. Front desk says be right back
10. Front desk says okay sir I'm going to cancel that for you immediately and you should get an email in 5 minutes
11. We say our thank yous and good byes then hang up
12. 10 days later... still no email
13. I talk with headquarters
14. They say they'll have the manager of the location reach out
15. 10 days later... still no call or email
By the way, this same process more or less has happened more than 3 times already -- once with an actual manager, the rest with different front desk people. Headquarters tells me they would have the GM of the location, Jason Hardin, reach out to me within 1-3 days to fix the issue AND he hasn't reached out to me at all. I'm 72 hours away from filing with BBB if this doesn't get resolved which by the way they have a D- review due to other complaints unresolved. I'll update my review with more info once I have it. Grab popcorn.

If I could leave 0 stars for Gold's Gym I would. I have had memberships to Gold's Gym in the past at O'Fallon Gym which is WAY nicer, I also did the one year membership full paid which after a year it was done, so I had no issues canceling. I no longer live near a Gold's Gym, but I got a membership at the Chesterfield location because it was near my work. Compared to O'Fallon, Chesterfield's location is a complete dump.
I received a new debit card shortly after and when coming in to work out, I was told my debit card no longer worked. I gave the girl my new card and she put it in the system. The next time I came in it was the same situation. I gave them my new debit card. A few months later I received a bill saying that I owed them money because they did not have my new card, even though I gave them my card many times. I sent a check on 8-1-17 for the amount due. This check was cashed. At this time, I also became pregnant. I now work from home frequently and there is not a gold's gym less than 30 minutes from my house. I also cannot workout anymore due to pregnancy issues that started this summer.
I looked online how to cancel my membership and it said a written letter or going in. Since I am pregnant and have been sick from being pregnant, I choose to write a letter, clearly stating I wanted to cancel my membership due to pregnancy and my location. I mailed the letter in with my check. I never received a phone call or letter regarding my cancellation or an amount for a cancellation fee if any. I assumed my membership was canceled since I heard nothing. A month later I received another letter saying that I needed to pay more money because my card wasn't working and if I did not pay I would be sent to collections. I thought by paying the last payment and requesting cancellation, I had been squared away and bills paid. Since the company could not bother to send me anything regarding my cancelation, only bills. I sent another check to Gold's Gym a few days after receiving the letter. I also sent a second request to cancel my membership. I have sent the check and letter in, and they never cashed my check. Just a few weeks after sending in a check that was never cashed I received a letter from a collections agency for a huge sum of money for past due obligations. I am being sent to collections when I have repeatedly requested to cancel my membership with no response and sent in a payment that was cashed and a second payment that was not even cashed. Not only are they trying to rob me of money, they are now trying to ruin my credit. I have tried to update my debit card and I have tried to send them money. They are unfairly sending me to collections and trying to ruin my credit They are requesting money which I have no idea the reason behind.
I am in complete disbelief with this company. I have used them before in O'Fallon and had a great experience, and now I can say this is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. I reported them to the BBB a week ago with no response, and now my credit is on the line!
I have been a member of Club Fitness before which is much cheaper and much easier to cancel. No issues whatsoever! I normally do not leave reviews like this, but I am so disgusted with Gold's Gym right now!

The gym is currently getting updated and i cant wait to see how it looks after. i remember the 24 hour fitness that was there previously and was not a fan of any team member there or the facility, but now that golds has taken over it is an amazing experience and i love how clean everything is. most gyms cardio equipment are always broke but this gym has not one machine out of order. bravo to the take over GOLDS. we need a good fitness center in this area with affordable pricing.

This particular location is suffering BAD. I'm not a dramatic person by any means, never even felt the need to write a review about a place before, but this gym is absolutly disgusting
I've never once seen any employees wipe down or clean the equipment. This wouldn't be a big deal if the gym posted signs encouraging members to wipe down after use, but nope not a single sign in the gym. I've addressed my concern with employees, but they could care less. I can't be the only member who has noticed this... Don't even bother with the steam room or sauna unless you're up to date on all vaccines. They have never been cleaned.
Overall, the premium this gym charges is not worth it. Hoping for serious changes, otherwise I'll catch my pump elsewhere

Horrible customer service. I am active duty military and needed a place to work out for 2 months. I was promised by the manager that my card would not be charged after I canceled. I was charged an additional two more times even after going in and talking to Jared Maxwell (manager) who supposedly canceled my membership the month before. I came in again after I received another charge and talked to this same manager who said I didn't cancel the month prior. I am still not sure he canceled my membership. Jared Maxwell is a horrible manager.

I used to have a gym membership at 24 Hour Fitness at this location while living in Ballwin. When I moved to the St. Charles area, I decided to cancel my membership as 24 Hour Fitness was not going to be the nearest gym in my location. Upon cancellation, I was informed it would be better for me to suspend my membership instead of cancelling because if I cancelled and decided to come back, I would have been required to pay the new membership activation fee. However, if I suspend my membership, I would simply be required to activate my membership at will. I joined another gym. A year and a half down the road, I received a letter in the mail stating that I owed $300 to Gold’s Gym. I called Gold’s Gym and I was informed that my account had been activated without my knowledge and there was nothing I could do about it. I informed them of my situation and they still stated since Gold Gym had bought 24 Hour Fitness, the rules of engagement had changed. I was disappointed as I was required to pay the $300 I never even used. They refused to honor the agreement to suspend my membership I had with 24 Hour Fitness. This has been the worst experience I’ve had with a gym whose facilities I never used. I will never recommend anyone to Gold’s Gym and personally will never their facilities.

Horrible customer service and organization. My credit card was compromised so they charged me a late fee. Once I got the new credit card, I paid right way and they waived the late fee. The next bill came through and do to a glitch in Gold's billing system, they did not take the money out my account automatically and then charged another late fee. I called right away and paid again but they said they could not waive the late fee. My credit card company, Bank of America, said nothing ever came through on Gold's side of things. Gold's said nothing can be done and I either pay the late fee or go to a different gym. I would have paid a years worth of payments ahead of time If i knew they were going to be like this. Do to faulty billing on Gold's side of things, I was charged another fee they refused to waive. Not fair. Never has any company I have ever worked with not waived a fee after paying right away. Never has a company refused to admit it was their mistake and instead blamed the customer.

My 18 year old daughter would like to join this gym since it is close to her highschool. I took her there Sunday evening and I was told that I have to sign her up When a manager is there on Monday. I asked how much a membership was, but apparently they "can't give that information". I came back Monday morning (today) and was told my daughter must be present for me to sign her up? I was told on Sunday that she did'nt have to be present. I asked again about the price and was told that they couldn't tell me. It really should not be this difficult and frustrating to join a gym. Are you kidding me?? Get it together please!!! Maybe we will choose another gym?

The new staff with Golds has been very accommodating, kind and easy to work with.
Golds has stood behind their word in honoring my existing membership agreement. In this day and age it is nice to still see a Corporation operate with dignity. That is respectable and I am grateful for it.
I'm looking forward to the new equipment they are going to upgrade in this great fitness facility. To be honest, I was satisfied with the existing equipment. As far as the steam room, pool and showers, I have no opinion. I have never used them in 13 years.
So...great job Golds!! Thanks for everything.

This gym was recently bought out by Gold's (previously a 24 Hour Fitness Center.) It's close to my house, but I never go here unless I'm in a pinch for time. The restrooms are disgusting.. They smell like mold and mildew. If Gold's Gym wants to keep this location open and profitable, they will need major revamp of everything, floor to ceiling, including the 20 year old equipment.
