I have been less than a recreational golfer my whole life (1-3 rounds per year) and recently turned 60 looking to increasing my playing time to 1-3 times per week. Dustin Ulm has been instrumental in taking my game to a higher level and his teaching style has transferred immediately for me to the course. For my 60th birthday. I booked two club fittings with Steven Shaw in June, one for my irons and one for my woods. I was not up on the latest technology with my irons, hitting Callaway X20 for the last few years. After testing all of the newest irons, I was fitted with the Callaway Smoke irons. To give a few examples of the difference, I was averaging 148 yards with my 8 iron and now hit 163 and my 6 iron was 165 and now hit 185.

When it came to woods, I was hitting the Callaway Maverick I purchased a year ago and Taylor made 3 wood. When I tested, I got 10 more yards out of the Ai Smoke 3 wood, but all of the drivers I tested were basically within a few yards of the Maverick. What I liked about Steven was he didn’t try to sell me on a new driver as I wasn’t going to gain any distinct advantage. So I’m hitting the Ai Smoke irons and 3-wood and Maverick driver and game is improving each week. Great to pull out a 7 iron from 170 instead of a 5 iron.

I highly recommend this location as everyone is friendly and knowledgeable, and I highly recommend getting fitted. I’ve golfer for 40 years and hitting the ball further at 60 than I did at 30 because of the technology.

I highly recommend Golftec in Lee’s Summit. David Williams was my coach and was amazing. If you’re looking to break down your swing and build it back up, this is the place for you. David is all the things: patient, supportive, understanding, and knowledgeable. He has a thorough understanding of the golf swing and how you can apply it to your swing. I would like to write a little note about my excellent experience at GolfTec, Lee's Summit. My teacher was a young man named David Williams. Dave is a knowledgable, compassionate, instructor that listens to your concerns, and then addresses how to fix your swing problems. My swing has improved, and I have the knowledge to make corrections to my swing. I would highly recommend Dave,and GolfTec, Lee's Summit.

Shout out to David Williams and GolfTec. I started lessons with David summer of 2021 struggling to break 100. A year later I was able to break 80 for the first time. I especially liked the before and after videos from each lesson, along with the written practice plan for what I have to work on that week. I could not have improved to this extent without David and GolfTec.

Poor first experience. Initially, communication was great. Golftec Lee's Summit worked with me to get a club fitting scheduled at 8am. However, showed up for my fitting at open and no one was there. Received a call after my scheduled appointment was supposed to start that they needed to cancel and reschedule. I understand things happen, but driving 40 minutes to get a notice of cancellation after the set time it was supposed to start was very disappointing and waste of a morning for me.

I am a 66-year-old man whose golf game began to falter a couple of years ago. I struggled to find the answer and ultimately did the worse thing possible and tinkered with my swing. My scores went from the low/middle 80’s to now low 90’s and sometimes much higher. I was frustrated.
While attending the KCK golf show I saw the Golftec booth and watched as they worked with people. We chatted and ultimately set up a swing analysis. I was in for a shock! I met with Dustin Ulm (Lee’s Summit) and we looked at my swing. Bottom line was that as I had tinkered it threw off my swing plane, lost hip, and shoulder turn thus taking away a lot of power. It was pretty evident with their technology and hard to dispute camera’s, video’s, and launch monitors.
At that point I decided I did not want to continue as I was playing and set up a series of lesson’s with Dustin to correct my swing. We knew this would not be an overnight thing and would take me hitting lots of golf balls and practicing drills. The first half 2020 I practiced, practiced, and practiced. When I would play the first thing constantly reviewed lesson notes and hit as I was coached. During these early rounds I found that I hit some pure shots and missed many others (but the misses were better than before). However, I was diligent and stuck with what I was learning. Toward the end of the season I began to hit many more pure shots and my distance and accuracy increased. It’s early this year but early results show I have retained what I learned and am playing better.
I also elected to ensure my clubs were right for me and had Dustin fit me. I am not stuck on one brand as performance is what counts. After an extremely thorough fitting session and hitting many clubs Dustin found my Mizuno irons to be right, but my Driver and Fairway woods needed an upgrade and some adjustments. I am now hitting a Callaway Mavrik Driver and Big Bertha Fairway woods. Never thought I would hit Callaway but after using them a few weeks (I Love Them).
If you want to seriously improve your game or just find that swing you may have lost, I highly recommend working with Golftec.
